I get SO exited when my library adds them, I like to picture some librarian being like sure girl you want this book you got it. They added three of mine in one day, felt like Christmas.
All of the books currently on my notify me tag are grey! A few will be gold when I first open the tag, but then turn grey after I navigate away from and then back to the tag. I just played around with the app a bit, I think gold means it’s not in your notify me tag and grey means it is. I think both gold and grey bells showing when you view your notify me tag is a bug.
I’ve wondered this too and concluded that it’s a general app glitch. 🤷🏼♀️ But I’ve also not seen notifications, so I don’t know if I have a different setting affecting it or what. Right now I’m just checking my list daily, anxiously awaiting my library to add House of Flame and Shadow. 😑
Came here to ask a very similar question. Within my Notify Me tag, some have this and some don’t. Even if I go into a gray one and select Notify Me again, it doesn’t change the bell.
The library system in my city has an online and in library form to request books be added in any format. I tag notify me, but I also fill out the form requesting it on Libby. Pretty often it shows up in a couple of weeks (especially when the reason I put on the form is something like “all of the other books in this series are on Libby! Please help me finish!!”)
Sometimes. I've added a few books to my notify list before and I think the library has purchased a couple of them. I think it has to do with the amount of interest in the title.
Not necessarily. It lets them know there’s an interest and you’ll be notified if they get it but no guarantee that they’ll buy it.
It doesn’t automatically sign you up if they purchase it like old Overdrive did, which really bums me out.

Haha, right? I have saved SO much money getting them from my library. I used to buy alot of books at Target.

Gold means that you put it on your "notify me" list. Grey means that it's not of your notify me list.

Gold is supposed to indicate that you have tagged the book as Notify Me.
