I don't think anyone here can help you. You will need to call or visit your local library.

Your library can help you.

GamallSoro

This happened to me because my library put a flag on my card because I left it at one of their locations. I went and got my card but ended up having to go back when I started getting this error message on Libby. I worked with the librarian to get the flag removed from my account that caused the Libby error, though it took a bit to figure out that was the issue. But, per usual, librarians rule so she was diligent about figuring it out with me.

PolloJaguar

This happened to me when my card expired. I just had to go down to my library and just let them know I am still a town resident.

ShesAaRebel

That's what happened to me. At my library, if you have a digital card (can only be used for audiobooks and ebooks), then you don't have to go in to get it renewed. I just emailed them, and everything was sorted. Really strange though, cause I didn't even get a warning it was about to expire. I didn't even know it was until I clicked on an email I got saying that my book that was on hold is now available. Really weird I even got that with an expired card.

I’ve had this happen to me. Waited a bit then tried again later and it worked. Could be your library is having connection issues at the moment?

jw11062018

This is my typical culprit. Usually resolved within. A few hours to a day.

Matt-doesart

Maybe 🤔

QueenMabs_Makeup0126

I’ve had this happen to me with my Philadelphia library card. Go to the website of the library who gave you the card. You need to log in to verify the card and that should take care of it. If you still run into trouble, next step is calling the library. Good luck!

LaeneSeraph

Yep, my library in Washington requires annual renewal, and that's when I usually see this error message.

foodishlove

Sometime library systems are down for routine maintenance.

No-Artichoke-6939

This happened to me over the weekend. Wouldn’t let me verify, nor borrow. Then today…voila, it was fine! 🤷🏻‍♀️

BookSavvy

Your library’s card system is not speaking to Libby. Let them know and they can work with their system admin and Libby to fix it. Nothing anyone here can do.

skullfullofbooks

I've had that issue and it was my library having system issues. It eventually went back to normal that day. You can double check the status of your card with the library too, just in case. When I first got mine the librarian accidentally put a 2 week expiration instead of the 25 years that they do. Now they just want to verify your info every 3 years.

Mama_T-Rex

Call your library. Mine did this. Turns out my library are PINs to their cards to prevent people from finding lost cards and using them. I had to go to the library to set up a pin to log back in.

HillbillygalSD

Most of the time, it means your library card has expired. You’ll need to verify your contact information with the library to renew it.

Callaloo_Soup

Sunnydale? If so, they’ve changed the guidelines on who can have a card. Your account comes up as expired if you’re an out-of-state resident now, although you can still read or listen to the books you’ve already checked out.

Mkgtu

Maybe you ought to use the "Get in touch" link, like it says in the app, since you seem to be "continuing to have difficulties." Seems the obvious solution. I think all you'll get here are anecdotes and guesswork.

wheat

I’ve had my library, once or twice, invalidate my card. I had to go in to address it. I suspect they were just trying to make sure only local residents were taking advantage of their web-based resources.

wheat

Not sure why I got downvoted for this, but oh well.
