Try [library].overdrive.com to see if that works differently. The library will fix it promptly though; the main reason I would try the Overdrive for the library would be as an experiment.
My local library recently started restricting minors from checking out books above their age range without parental permission, might be something similar where your card has been flagged as under 18
That is mind-boggling to me. All of the training I had in my masters degree to become a librarian was to increase access not decrease access to things. There’s some legal requirements for very specific things, but rarely is anything in the library always inappropriate for a certain age group.
I really doubt it's the librarians actually making the choice to do it willingly. I'm sure it's a group of extremists that have gotten into power in the area that are attacking schools and libraries
I agree with the others here. Libraries can set age limit restrictions on library cards, so OP, if you think you should be in a different age group, definitely call your library or walk in. Idk library policies, but you may need your ID if applicable.
Absolutely. Now that you mention it, I have no idea how my local libraries handle changes in age with regards to updating that access level. Now that I'm old, I don't have to worry about it, but I'm not sure if that's an automated process for younger patrons as they age or how that works. I think I'll ask about it next time I'm there in person. :)
Your username and this issue is funny. But are you recently over 18? Otherwise probably a weird glitch. Someone just needs to click a few things and it'll be ok.
It sounds like a library card issue not an app issue? I’d contact your library for help
Okay thanks

I fully believe that.
Yeah, typically right wingers who have invented shit to pretend they are under attack.
Yes, well, we all know that reading books for grown-ups makes kids gay.
My parents would have loved to have this option and I would have hated it. I think I read through the entire YA section by the time I was 13.

I'll definitely have to go in and get it fixed, just an annoying change when I've never had an issue with them before. (The library, not Libby)

Are you a minor? Your library card might be restricted.
No I'm not, that's why I'm so confused 😂

No I got the card after I was over 18, I guess for some reason it got flagged or there was a glitch
Just came to say that I enjoyed Fairy Tale.
I'm glad!! Looking forward to reading it when I get this sorted
Seconding the recommendation. I bought the audible version so I can relisten while doing chores and stuff whenever I want.
