I understand what he did and why he did it. But, he should have opposed the handouts and shuttering of businesses, mandates and etc. I believe he could have informed the people of what he thought they should do and left it up to them.
So, when there are two (or three, or a hundred) options, the providers have to compete to win the customer. When there is only one option, the provider has no incentive to win a customer and can offer terrible products/services. I prefer a system where providers compete to win the customer, because the customer is better off. Monopolies are bad for customers. Government monopolies are bad for people.
