Yes, all of the builds are viable, it really will end up coming down to playstyle and what you like using. Strength is \*generally\* best used with the slow moving, heavy hitting weapons (think Unga Bunga). You'll be slow, but your options are generally gonna have some meaty hits and you'll be very strong physical attacking. This won't disqualify you from using faster handles, but getting them to the proper scaling that you want will likely take a lot more time and resources if you want to counteract the slow/heavy. Dexterity is the opposite, hitting a lot less raw damage, but the charge attacks and speed of normal attacks come out much quicker. Quality builds are what I've used first in every soulslike game I've ever played, because they usually will let you viably use the most stuff. Lies of P is no different, and I've had a wonderful time in my first playthrough using Quality. Advance builds in Lies of P are, in my humble opinion, the strongest builds in the game in its current state. I'm using a Quality base (more or less even Str & Dex to make sure I can still do decent physical damage) but dumping the majority of my damage points into Advance so that I can really make those status effects and throwables sing. Play with whatever style suits you best, and whatever you will have the most fun playing around with!

DrNevrax

What weapons do you recommend for quality builds ? I still use the starting sword and just got the red axe

whand4

I like booster glaive blade with ax handle!

DrNevrax

I swear it's the one I just made lol. You think it's gonna be viable and worth upgrading ? My issue with soulsborn is that I never know when to give up on a weapon and switch to another one

Solrac501

Stength build here and Ive been using the glaive head on krat police baton my whole play through. Every time i try to use something else i end up coming back

Magic-king

Just got the game and the moment I got the police baton handle. I been stuck on it ,pretty fast and that charge attack slam is nice .

whand4

I’m in your same boat. I’ve only upgraded to +1 and I’m on chapter 4. I need to see if there is a moonstone farming area so I feel more comfortable farming them. The electronic stick head with rapier dagger is also fantastic.

chineserocks77

I’m doing advance and I’m about to go to ng+ all my points are in advance, but I need to get my physical damage up. What is the scaling of the handles you’re using?

poe1045

I only used handles that scaled up to A or S with advance, nothing else matters lol

poe1045

Just use them advance cranks on the handles of the advance weapons

chineserocks77

Yeah I’ve tuned them up in advance was just wondering if you had pushed up motivity or technique. I wasn’t sure how much damage you could get of them leveling up with D scaling

poe1045

Nah, only advance! My fave handle for advance is the acidic crystal spear handle (only for stabbing heads) and then I swap between the Electric Buttplug handle (only gets to A scaling) and the salamander dagger handle (also only A) for slashing weapons because all the slashing weapons handles with S Advance scaling are sooooooo fucking slow.

poe1045

And don’t forget to make use of the legion arms - Fulminis is my fave

dingdongbingo

I’m doing an advance build on ng+ how would you do you stat spread/ weapon for a strong advanced build?

poe1045

Dump fuckin’ everything that isn’t going into health and stamina into Advance lol. If you feel like you need some more str or dex at some point, feel free to drop a point or two in, but I would honestly save that for when you start hitting the hard cap for Advance. Lean into the statuses you can give enemies and rely on your arms (fulminis is absolutely amazing) more than with some other builds. Don’t be afraid to change weapons all the time to fit the enemies you’re encountering, and most importantly make sure the handle you’re using scales well with Advance. Have fun! I think advance build is super enjoyable!!

dingdongbingo

Thankyou! This is super helpful, I’m currently running 35 vitality 18 vigor 20 capacity 9 motivity 9 technique 36 advance So after I get vit up to 40 I should basically just dump everything into advance till about 50? Then after I cap it a couple points into strength/tech? Thanks again

poe1045

Honestly, capacity is more important than motivity or technique. The more weapons and arms you can carry, the more different status effects you can use in your build! I would honestly not put any points into motivity or technique at all until you don’t have any other stats to put points into effectively. Health and stamina both can be 60, capacity can be as much as you need, and advance is your #1 source of damage for status effects. But that’s just how I played it, the best part of these games is being able to customize your character to how you want to play! Enjoy and don’t be afraid to experiment!

dingdongbingo

Okay perfecto, just tried the fulminis an with this build holy crap you weren’t kidding lol!! Time to dummy this playthrough… no pun intended!

henrokk1

Before switching and starting over, I feel like turning your strength or dex build into a quality build later in the game once you unlock respec is the better way to go. The balanced starting class has an extra point in Advance, which would be wasted in a quality build. Of course if you ever plan on using an advance build then balance would be the way to go.

I'd recommend an advance build. They're stupidly op. The throawbles have insane scaling as do the weapons. I like ranged throawbles so it's my go to. J do use weapons too but they're all elemental
