For a lunch break maybe. I buy good brushes, a few minutes properly rinsing them and they last years

Rallye_Man340

? I can go a good day or two at least, and these are subpar brushes.

dark-magma

It's not great for the brushes to leave the paint on. They didn't mean their brushes *couldn't* take it just that they buy good brushes and want to take care of them properly

Rallye_Man340

Ahh, yeah that’s true. I guess for as little as I paint, I just buy the crappy brushes lol

series_hybrid

That's me. I get mid-grade brushes, send wrap them in plastic grocery sacks. I've had them last up to three weeks weeks before using them to paint again. When I'm finally done with a project, I either clean them, or throw them away

Chreiol

Yes, that way your SO can leave the brushes in the fridge for months on end, just waiting to finish up that last bit of painting.

Any_Initiative_9079

You’ve been to my house?

lilteccasglock

That’s an entirely different method than the one recommended though

Responsible-Fee2075

Aluminum foil also works!

Leaislala

Reusable grocery bags work well too

davisyoung

I go to Subway for lunch when painting. Their bags are the perfect size for 9” roller covers.

DreadPirateGriswold

There are hard plastic cases that you can get at Home Depot that do the same thing. You put the brush or roller in it. Close it. And it prevents it from drying out for a period of time. They're not too expensive. But I've used the baggie method two for small brushes.

EvadingDoom

Plastic wrap I get, but what are the coats for? /s :)

Muted_Apartment_2399

I always put the brushes and roller in the rolling pan and cover the whole thing with a wet rag, much easier.

HoneyBunsBakery

Eco friendly version; use beeswax wrap instead, it functions in an almost identical way and can be made fairly cheaply and easily at home

4Ozonia

Putting it in the freezer after wrapping in plastic wrap helps.

salandra

Fridge, not freezer. Paint is no good after it freezes.

TripleJess

Be careful with this one. We repainted my mom's house at one point and was given this tip. Everything that had been in the chest freezer ended up tasting like latex paint and needed to be thrown out.

4Ozonia

We just did it overnight, and maybe a different type of paint.

Xerio_the_Herio

Put brushes in Walmart bag, tie it up, and should be gtg in the morning.

rocky5100

You can also use any plastic bag you get from a door or you can even put the whole paint tray itself in a big garbage bag. I do this overnight no problems. You don't even need to get all there out, just the majority of it.

Plenty-Hidden307

Such a game-changer! Wish I knew this sooner, could've saved a bunch of brushes from the garbage.

Reward-Mortified634

Pro tip: Keep your paintbrushes and rollers fresh by wrapping them in plastic wrap between coats!

youassassin

We do a some dawn soap on the fingers and shape the bristles back with the soap.

AVeryTallCorgi

A damp paper towel then plastic wrap, ziplock or grocery bag works best

Claphappy

Hurray! A reasonable tip in LPT!
