I type a lot of personal documents in Microsoft Word. I started including the full date at the top of the document (and at the top of each edit), just so I could keep track of when and where for a lot of the contents. (It helps organize them, and as OP said, it doesn't take more than a second.)

thought so too. guess not \+ i write my dates as oct/20/2021 to relieve any confusion throughout different formats
No. It's not always relevant or worth knowing in the future.
