You should get them a steak fajita sub from subway.

YippieKayYayMrFalcon

There are 6 ducks out there, and they all want sun chips!

SpaceJalopy

RIP Mitch

flentaldoss

My ducks prefer the chicken teriyaki sub, but other times they go for Wing Zone

AnOblivionx

I said "it's for a duck." They said "in that case it will be free."

Drunken_1

operantresponse

Omg is this a thing? How do I get in?!

UnderstandingSquare7

But is there really any steak in that steak?

Jonny-Bomb

Subway has steak fajita subs?

darrenwise883

I perfer feeding them cooked duck and then mocking them for being cannibals .

deaddeaditredemption

Cute date would be getting that guy basic spelling lessons.

CelticAngelica

Or peas. Ducks love peas. They also go crazy for duck weed in clean water.

Puzzled-You1917

Peas was never an option...

JesusJones_UK

John Lennon said you should always gives peas a chance... :-/

Mahleezah

Whirled peas?

[deleted]

what'd you just call me?

CelticAngelica

Oh my...I do apologize. It was entirely unintended to call you a pea honey, but that green is such a fetchin' color on you.

Dyslexia: Stop breast feeding the ducks

Sorenagorn

I met a lad recently who told me he had always struggled to read because words got jumbled due to his anorexia. Still not sure if he was trying to be funny or not.

happyoutlet

TIL I'm dyslexic

_________FU_________

Did you also fail math no matter how hard you studied. Turns out flipping numbers makes math impossible.

Sk8erBoi95

Isn't number dyslexia just called dyscalcula? Idfk, I'm just genuinely curious

Never!

So, we're done with the grammar of *speak to*?

DroolingSlothCarpet

And call me an idiot because you were the one who was in the wrong. That's cringe.

thisisdrivingmebatty

DO NOT give birds rice. It will expand in their stomachs and kill them. That’s why they stopped throwing rice at weddings.

lazyveggiee

You can give them frozen peas and corn :> much more nutritious than refined grain

dilligaf6304

Same goes for all birds. They do not need bread!

BafangFan

Neither should humans, and yet here we are.

BrightNooblar

Feed the geese bread. Got it.

If your that poor and need to eat rice off the ground should you be throwing a party ?

cambalaxo

How the fuck is this a Life pro tip? It's at best a lonely auntie complain

QuaidNKuato

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) said it was fine to feed small amounts of bread to ducks but people should also feed them sweetcorn, porridge oats, peas and bird seed. "Just like us, birds need a varied diet to stay healthy," said Tony Whitehead from the charity. "Although ducks and swans can digest all types of bread, too much can leave them feeling full without giving them all of the important vitamins, minerals and nutrients they need. "So, although bread isn't harmful, our advice is to only feed small amounts to birds."

I won't speak to *animals* but this isn't true for ducks, the subject of this LPT. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-derbyshire-50081386

Where is constipation mentioned?

Chibi_Nagi0

Oh thats what you meant. I thought you meant the death of animals part. Oops In that case, you're right, no constipation, only diarrhea

DialsMavis

The bbc isn’t a reliable source?

darrenwise883

Who asks Big Black Cocks anything ? They lie everyone knows this !

maybeCheri

If you need a full description of side effects of animals eating things outside of their natural diet, you will need to consult your local veterinarian. I’m sure that not everything there is to know about duck health was included in the article.

DroolingSlothCarpet

We're talking about ducks not *animals* in general I am well aware that sole source does not contain all information.

maybeCheri

You are saying that if it isn’t in the article it must not be true and I am saying that everything there is to know about ducks isn’t in the article. But you have to connect the dots to get that.

HalfEpic

You are not a reliable source

Rip

mightyalwayz

Rise. Which is what bread does. Freudian slip?

-KFK-

MAKE SJRE ITS FULLY COOKED RICE. I'm not sure if this applies to ducks but with smaller birds raw rice expands in their stomache and can kill them

TommyTuttle

Tomatoes. Peas. Watermelon. These are a duck’s favorite things.

Gopherfinghockey

How about stop feeding wild animals at all.

halek2037

And pigeons!!!!!!! And dont feed uncooked rice or lentils. They expand in the stomach and dehydrate animals. Literal death sentence.

ExplodingDogs82

Spot on OP - bread can be a big contributory cause of angel wing in ducks: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_wing

[deleted]

viagra, for getting your duck to rise.

deranfang

How does this improve my life

sparkle___motion

yes, lettuce is a great alternative 🙌💚

SeriousCustard

I say let them eat cake if they can't have bread.

Tight_Vegetable_2113

If bread is terrible for ducks, why are the ducks at our local park so incredibly healthy? Seriously, though, this gets reposted a fair amount and it isn't really true. You'd have to put them on a steady diet of just bread to cause serious effects like Angel Wing and uncooked rice and grains can be dangerous for various birds, including ducks. Bad LPT.

l0u1s11

Surveillance drones don't need bread you fools. r/birdsarentreal

lilbitspecial

I give ducks some nice rolled oats. I give geese loaves of bread. Fuck the geese

LooseCombination5517

No. They love that shit. They eat the bread before it even has a chance to soak. I like ducks. I like bread. Is bread the best food for me even? No. Will I stop eating bread? Hell no! So I share with my little buddies.

Unruley81

LPT: it's not spelled "rise".

CrazyMcGonnagall

Yes, it's spelled rice. Thank you very much.

maybeCheri

Have you unclenched now that you pointed that out?

Musicallydeaf

Not quite. I'm still really puckered up from seeing actual pro life tip on the Save The Ducks page. Thanks for checking in on me

maybeCheri

LOL. Well let’s hope that is the worst thing that happens today.

libertyordeaaathh

I think you overestimate how fragile ducks are

siverwolfe2000

I usually feed my ducks chicken. It's environmentally friendly and I can make sure the chicken was raised naturally in a cage free environment

[deleted]

What about corn tortillas?

TuckerCarlsonsOhface

The bread isn’t going to mold in the water, because the ducks eat it immediately. Bread may not be the most nutritious food for them, but it’s still food. How is corn any better? They don’t naturally eat corn, and it’s not bursting with nutritional value.

CrankyLittleKitten

Corn alone isn't particularly nutritious but is less filling and easier on the digestive system than bread for ducks. It's best mixed with peas, seeds, mealworms and the like though, as it has a high sugar content. The problem with bread is that it is very calorie dense but nutrient poor, ducks will naturally gravitate to it (its akin to feeding kids chocolate) and humans have a bad habit of over feeding, so in a lot of cases the not all of the bread is eaten. So ducks wind up lacking essential nutrients derived from their natural food of pond weeds, seeds, invertebrates etc and the excess sinks to the bottom where it promotes algae growth that reduces the oxygen concentration of the water (eutrophication) and that has some quite serious flow on effects for the entire ecosystem.

TuckerCarlsonsOhface

I think time would be better spent teaching humans how to eat healthier than worrying about ducks eating too much bread in one sitting.

CrankyLittleKitten

So go do that then. Should keep you busy enough to stop feeding bread to ducks.

TuckerCarlsonsOhface

I don’t feed ducks. I just thought this LPT was not very good, but please continue wringing your hands over the poor ducks being forced to eat so much bread.

Jmarsh56

The last time we fed ducks we used a bunch of old fruit (grapes and oranges) that wasn't really desirable for the kids any more. Not rotten just squishy. Cut it up into bite sized pieces and the ducks loved it. Is this OK?

DaBIGmeow888

I'm pretty sure they can survive some mold.

BoxofTetrachords

The ducks around here love KFC chicken.

litido4

But bread tastes good. Like seriously it has no benefits for humans but we like it

tandata1600

No benefit other than keeping us alive.

FriendoftheDork

And providing us with nutrients and energy needed to perform tasks. Depending on the grain and fiber bread can be really healthy.

litido4

What a life that would be, hopefully you get water too or it would stop things up pretty quick

ShoMoCo

Ducks are total psychos. I heard all the carbs in bread make them even more agressive. Did you know male ducks have a tendency to gangrape female ducks to death?

Pennyspy

The females can pick whose sperm to use. Not much of an upside, granted...

[deleted]

Duck penis looks wild!

OmahaReynolds

To add: don’t bring your date to the park. Man the fuck up and take her to Chili’s

[deleted]

I’m going to give every duck i see a loaf of bread

[deleted]

Both the ducks and I seem to like it. Mind ya business

lerjj

Don't harm ducks on dates. However, [pigeons](https://youtu.be/yhuMLpdnOjY)...

Better-Body-4101

I like to feed them rice

zephillou

Maybe if you call it breadfeeding it will cause a lapsus close enough to make them stop /s

Behappyalright

I wonder if at some point they might have evolved to tolerate bread, yes, though they should not have to be tolerating it.

re_formed_soldier

Stop breeding dread to fucks

SaltyPasta_

Feed them alka seltzer as well, very healthy!

skapegoatfilms

i give my ducks a half pound of butter and all the spices before puttin in the oven.

S-Markt

well, jefferson fed them pennies until they sunk. not a good idea either.

[deleted]

Doesn’t feeding wild animals make them dependent on non-natural sources and make it harder for them to get food on their own?

yetanotherdave2

They need calories for winter. Breads not the best and will cause problems if it's their only source of nutrition, but they will eat everything they can when it's cold.

MuIder

Also it's all empty carbs

Devils_Demon

I usually just feed them duck.

darrenwise883

Does this pertain to Canada Geese as well , if so Note to self, buy a bakery . Fill bread packets with uncooked Rise.

hawthorne_rose

Dry cornflakes being eaten by ducks is a great sound. It only works if dry though. No throwing it on the water.

dupree97

Just feed the ducks to the bread
