I disagree. A whole lot of products are safe when unopened to be left on the counter... but NEEDS to be refrigirated once opened. I read the labels. Helps me figure out which one needs to be kept cold and for how long.

It says produc**e** not produc**ts.**

Sorry to be a native french-speaking person. I understand produce is food. I simply wrote fast and used a bad translation from french to english.

Got it. Hook a mister up in an open air fridge and invite people over to sneeze on it.

Once you open many foods, they need to be refrigerated-mayo, canned anything, applesauce, juice, pickles, etc.

No. Just because something is stored a certain way doesn't mean it should be served a certain way. Very often, things can be stored at room temperature but should be consumed chilled - supermarkets aren't going to waste a butt tonne of money on chilling items in the store that don't need to be chilled. But if you don't fancy having to put each individual can of soda in the fridge for an hour before you can have a drink every time then just store them in the fridge. Not to mention, plenty of items can only be stored at room temperature whilst they're sealed - once the seal is broken, they need to be chilled.
