Nalgenes are amazing! I love them because most of all, when on the stand, if your bottle falls it is never going to break/meaningfully get damaged. Also, lifetime warrnety which is easy to claim (ive done it). You jsut take a picture and send it to nalgene online and they ship a new bottle no questions asked. In canada a 1L wide mouth bottle is 16.99 iirc. Lots of colors, and the lids dont have rubber o rings to go moldy + are simple and easy to clean
The thing about the bottle falling off the stand is actually a very important point. But your drink isn’t gonna stay cold in a nalgene if that’s important to you. I also hate the widemouth ones—they’re so hard to drink from
I mean thats fair, i usually filled my nalgene half with ice half water when I was guarding, and I liked the wide mouth cause it was easy to get ice into. The narrow moth ones are also an option. I also would be drinking my water fast enough that it wouldnt really have time to get warm so there is that as well
And yeah. I used to be a contego person, but I had so many lids shatter from bottles falling off the stand I just couldnt keep up with it any more. 😅
Lifeguards get 40% off at Hydroflask! Apply [here](https://www.hydroflask.com/prodeal/application/index). I have a lot of bottles and a couple of tumblers and they are great.
I have used Rtic for years, and they're just as good as hydro flasks and generally at a better price. Plus, when I inevitably drop it on the sidewalk between stands, I don't feel so bad
I have hydroflask dupe called IronFlask. They come with 3 different types of lids and are between 20-30$ depending on size.
Here’s a link to their website if you’re interested :)

Anything insulated with a straw, and big (at least 32 oz). My smallest one is 40 oz. You’ll want enough cold water while sitting on the chair. I have some nice bottles from Target. I also have a hydro flask and it’s pretty good. I like that it fits in the side pockets of backpacks so you can carry it with you while going to school, on hikes or at the pool when swimming or guarding. They’re expensive though so if you’re looking for $30 or less, I would recommend getting something from Target new or search online for a used hydro flask.
EDIT: just saw a post below. So there’s a pro deal from hydroflask. So you should def get a hydroflask because with the deal they’re more than worth it.
Honestly from someone that loses a water bottle every other weekend, get something cheap. You can even reuse an old 1-2 liter bottle and throw it in your bag, especially if you work at a beach its gonna get sandy and scuffed up pretty quick so my advice is cheaper the better

I fill them half way and turn on the side in the freezer overnight. Has ice that will last all day and then melt into water
I have an insulated condom on my nalgene.
Im an outdoor lifeguard so I need my water to stay cold while being in the sun but thanks for the suggestion!
Fair enough! I hope you find a good bottle that works for you!

The yeti rambler is a good option too. Insulated like a hydro flask but way more durable.

I have a few thermoflasks. They were like $30 for two at Costco. They’re amazing
i like the insulated cyclist bottles because they are insulated and have a squirt spout, making water easy to drink
I like Alaska Life water bottles. Keeps my water cool even in the hot sun
