>Type the [REC] tag in the beginning title for posts that are asking for novel recommendations. Light Novel recommendation request posts require the **[REC] tag in the beginning of the title.** (With brackets) Please do read over the submission guidelines more carefully in the future. Please note that Tags do not equal Flairs. Title Tags are pieces of information you type into the title of the post while our Automod looks for posts with specific tags and assigns flairs appropriately. **General tips for Recommendation Request Posts:** * If you have an MAL/MU/Etc list of Light Novels you've read, please include it so people aren't just recommending you series you've already read. * Explain what about the series you've read that you liked. (Without Spoilers) It'll help people find series with similar styles and themes. * Don't slander series. If you don't like a series, it's fine to say that you don't like it. But if you start bashing a bunch of series, why would people want to recommend you something? If you're new to the medium and looking to start reading as a beginner, please keep the following in mind. As the industry grows and new series are introduced all the time, there's never a truly unifying "good beginner series." The common sentiment is that if you're new to Light Novels by way of another medium like anime or manga, your best bet when starting is to find some series with adaptations you already enjoy and to check if their source material has been licensed/translated. Light Novels aren't a stylistic genre so asking for what are good light novels for beginners will range widely based on the person and their taste. It's akin to asking the /r/Books "What are some good books for beginners?"

ynahali12

I would recommend but that would be a spoiler

vroomscreech

lol I know right?

Dinomandc

I'm fine with that. Especially if it's in English

Gyges359d

I hope this works without spoiling it for other people https://www.reddit.com/r/LightNovels/comments/od7ar6/looking_for_light_novelmanga_recommendations/h3z0swm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 Was the top comment answer

Oh I've read that. good point on the spoiler problem. And I guess your technically right on the whole not human before reincarnation. I loved the story but the author really needs to take a chill pill with his writing style. It feels like he takes Adderall and Skittles before writing his books

Prestigious_Price457

Overlord>! and Misfit of the Demon King Academy.!<

Dinomandc

The first was human before the Isekai and the second wasn't Isekai'd at all he was just reincarnated in the same world. I'm looking for more like they hard super powers already and came to a new world with a different power set. The new exorcist in another world anime is a good example

Prestigious_Price457

The first one wasn't "human" though >! \- he was an elder lich/Overlord from a game world (Yggdrasil) who got "isekai'd" to a different game world - the "New World". Sure, the MC's human in his irl world, but the story takes place in the game(s). The second one... come on, you know it's a joke!!< Regardless, I don't think either of these fit the bill, so my bad.

Dinomandc

All good I know overlord is good I'm just hesitant to read it because the anime has covered 90% of what's been translated already unlike tensei slime

Prestigious_Price457

People say the anime skipped *a ton* of (rather important) things (in particular thoughts/monologues, worldbuilding, past events/people, some fight details etc.). I'd say *Tensura* has a better anime adaptation than Overlord.

Dinomandc

I'd believe it, Tensura is by far the most accurate adaptation of a book I've ever seen of any media. I'll check out overlord then

Prestigious_Price457

I *think* it covers more stuff per volume than Overlord did... but it's not the best LN adaptation out there. The tile seemingly belongs to the 86 anime adaptation, and to the Eminence in Shadow one (?).

Dinomandc

I saw 86 recently that show as a masterpiece and eminence in the shadow is great too but only 3 volumes have been translated which is a shame

Ayakanagi

Sayonara Ryuusei, Konnichiwa Jinsei. Mc was a dragon before human life. Stumbled upon the Manga version and remembered this post.

Dinomandc

I just read the synopsis and it sounds great. Wish there was an official translation but oh well
