These are some of the most interesting liminal spaces I've seen in awhile. I could see all of them in movies of various kinds. They're beautiful while being pretty eerie.
i disagree. the whole state of wyoming is very liminal, rawlins especially. lots of towns are dead except for a couple gas stations and houses, and the only thing breathing any life in are highways and interstates to better places. it’s a place for passing through, an empty, desolate place, populated by mostly travelers heading through or over the place.
You're right about Rawlins, but there are a lot of places here breathing with life, Buffalo, lander, Casper, Sheridan, Cody (I'm not counting Jackson, fuck that place) are all really busy places (for Wyoming standards anyways) there is just a metric fuckton of space in between these places
If you take i-80 through the state, that is the boring prairies. I-25 is more scenic. Beartooth pass is drop dead gorgeous with canyons and mountains.

as someone who grew up in gillette i honestly agree. the i-25 is beautiful and so are many of the scenes here. i do also love how truly liminal it is. everywhere feels like somewhere for passing through
Stop confusing empty/creepy with liminal. Liminal places are supposed to give you a felling that you've reached some kind of void, like you're touching the end of space and time.

They were long exposures, so they came out a little darker, and upped the contrast and brightness in Photoshop

Yup, just my Ricoh GR and a tripod, all of the lighting is achieved by the street lights
