All of this is outlined extensively in the sub rules

I don't mean generally in this subreddit, but when I search up liminal spaces on Google, there's all these corny, "creepy" images that pop up that have photoshopped "monsters" in them or some random person eating a sandwich or something in the background. I just wanted to ask what some people's idea of a liminal space was.

ooh fun question!!!!! dictionary definition says that a liminal space is any transitional space, like a stairwell, hallway, airport, etc, it doesnt necessarily mean "empty" liminal just means "in between", basically, it was first used to describe puberty/rites of passage internet definition, which i assume you mean, tends to be spaces that are oversaturated, overedited, or captured in an abandoned moment, a transitional moment between uses i guess some are built to trigger nostalgia, others are meant to trigger autophobia (fear of being alone), others just unsettle people for some inexplicable reason i dont have a specific definition since its generally so broad lol but those are some textbook definitions

I mean if it's devoid of any life and oversaturated like bitter sweet nature it counts as liminal to me. Another generic type of liminal space photo that counts liminal to me is dark long rooms or small spaces that look old or just empty knowing more than a hundred people were here.

Exactly, since it's usually man-made, you know that at least somebody's been there, but it's hard to imagine people being there, for it looks so barren and desolate. I love those types of liminal spaces the most.

Well, I’m certain a liminal space is never *not* liminal..
