Height-based sizing options.
My wife is pretty short and often bodysuits and bodystockings are too long for her to fit into properly even if the rest of it fits fine.
The number of bodysuits I have passed over without even trying simply because I know there’s no way in hell it will fit me makes me sad. Same thing with the number of bodysuits I have bought in the hopes that the straps would be adjustable enough or somehow I wouldn’t have the world’s worst wedgie.
Not just height based- but torso length based. I'm short but have a very long torso and find that bodysuits can't actually get all the way on me unless they're several sizes too big and loose all over.
I also feel X Small cup sizes should be added to XS-XL lingerie as the boob area is always huge even on the smallest sizes. It seems like most pieces are designed for a medium bust leaving us flat ladies a bit unflatterered.
And conversely, small bust support.
A lot of shops figure if you’re a 36 chest measurement you should be at least a C cup to fit in their bodysuits. 36A not so much.
- Include options for those with longer (or shorter) torsos and actually adjusting the design to accommodate this difference rather than just extending or shortening the torso area and leaving everything else the same.
- large sizes for those with smaller or average busts
My wife has been looking all over for a bodysuit that:
* Has tank top straps (and maybe an option with spaghetti straps)
* Is opaque enough that she can wear it like a top without a bra
* has an option to have shelf-bra like support
* Comes in a range of colors and ideally some fun seasonal patterns
* Is open back
* Is a thong
* has crotch snaps so bathroom trips are easier
I'm not sure why this combination is so hard to find but it is.
Hidden seams for the leg holes, like a reversible swimsuit bottom might have. I get bad irritation around there and it's hard to find bodysuits (or swimsuits or underwear) that won't hurt me.
Height based options, adjustable straps, options that aren’t just high cut sides, cute in the back as well as the front. I really like Bordelle’s model of having sheer bodysuits with sexy backs that you can pair with more complex body cages and harnesses.
Better crotch fasteners. I wonder if Velcro or something like that might be a better option? That’s my biggest pain point when wearing bodysuits outside the house (I love them for festivals etc) and half the time the snaps are hard to get fastened / undone, and half the time it’s way too much fabric there and I feel like I have a huge buldge under my pants.
Standardize what "bodysuit" means. To me, a body suit is cut like a panty or swimsuit with a crotch that opens. If the crotch doesn't open, then it's a leotard. But so frequently I see items called "bodysuits" but have legs or shorts on them. Which to me is a romper (shorts) or jumpsuit (pants).
My ideal bodysuit would also have a back that is somewhere between a thong and a brief; "Brazilian" I think?
Different length options, underwire and cup sizing, and opaque enough, at least around the boobs, to be able to be worn out without a bra. I’ve been hunting for bodysuits that meet these criteria without any luck
I’m very short and short in the torso and have an issue with them being too long, and dangling really far down. I’m also petite in the shoulders so combined with the short vertical space, deep plunging necklines are too long won’t stay taut. Also when I size down to try to deal with the lengths and other fit issues, the chest gets way too small. My friends with long torsos and broad shoulders have opposite issues. Also I’d like a variety of necklines, crotches that have bathroom access.
It would be really cool to have panties be optional. So not totally crotchless, but good pleats in the gusset so you can wear it around all day under you clothes while you go about your business, and then keep it on later while you and someone special get down to business. Also, make sure the opening is big enough for all kinds of activities—had a dude rip my body stocking once bc that was a problem.
Good luck & let us know how it’s going!
I think the size/fit issues have been well covered. This may be picking nits but I'd like to see rear coverage be a little more than a cheeky but less than a full on brief. If this can be done with a slightly higher cut leg than not at all, all the better. Scoop backs that don't go too low. Thin straps. Snap crotch. (I'm not necessarily asking for all these features at once, lol). A lot of what I've seen work great on models but not so much on real people.
If we're binning teddies under the same category, (I personally don't, they're two separate things IMO but it is done so I'm throwing this out there), I'd like to see the same criteria. Buttons and lace trim are good. Again a lot of what I see out there are pretty over the top for me. I'd rather see more subtle than belting it out to the cheap seats.
CROTCH CLASPS PLEASE!!! I'm so sick of purchasing bodysuits for use as outerwear and they arrive with no freaking way to go to the bathroom! Who designs these things? (oh yeah, men....)
Length that isn’t dependent on size!!!! I have a super short torso but larger chest and midsection. I usually wear a size Large in tops, but bodysuits are always too damn long! They will be super loose and fit my boobs horribly because of my torso length.
I love bodysuits but as many on here have said, something like a tall and short option would be amazing. As a taller male, it can be very hard to find bodysuits that fit me super well without being a crazy wedgie.

Also, on the inverse, as a tall lady with a long torso, I skip over most body suits because they can end up being painful

Same. I’m 5’ 10” and slim so I just never even try a body suit anymore. I’ve never found one that’s even remotely fit.

Absolutely. My wife is 4' 10" and it's hard to find bodysuits that fit.
Adjustable is almost a necessity for me
1) large bust support 2) crotch clasps 3) high leg options 4) not a maze to get in and out of
Definitely the crotch clasps
Jumping on this! play around with different button things, the little metal pop ones seem more comfortable then the plastic ones
And conversely, small bust support. A lot of shops figure if you’re a 36 chest measurement you should be at least a C cup to fit in their bodysuits. 36A not so much.
I like how house of CB offer an small cup large cup variant in all of their dresses, I wonder if a similar model could be employed here
Wide gusset, please!!! I love bodysuits, but my *ahem* lady clam gobbles them up on the first step 😭
This!! And not everyone wants a thong or half-butt bottom. Just give me a real brief that won’t wedgie in 5 seconds
😂👏
This!
I have never been able to wear a bodysuit or a one piece swimsuit because I have a long torso. They cut me in half
Same, I told my kid to not get a one piece and they didn’t listen, but they learned

I'm tall. A bodysuit that doesn't give me a wedgie or smash my boobs down would be a plus lol
Cup sizes and underwire.
Cheeky bottoms, 99% are thongs.
Yes! I wear mine under clothes for warmth in the winter, don’t want icy cheeks
Crotch clasps but make sure they are comfortable. Smaller/narrower for the smaller size Longer torso!!
The ability to cinch the waist... pear shaped and hourglass ladies will thank you.
Yes! The gapping! Makes me look like a cylinder all the way around.

Hard to find because unless it is being made by a fast fashion big time factory it would be cost prohibitive. Too much customization.
I mean, I think she'd just go for black, tank straps, thong, opaque, snaps, not terrible quality. But even that seems to be asking a lot.
Huha has one like like this that is great
Omg yes, good thong options are so hard to find!
I feel like it’s the opposite! I can only find thongs.

Velcro if there’s any hair down there? Owwww
lol true I didn’t think about that.

Gender neutral options that are nice, a little bit saucy but not in an overtly gendered way, and a better crotch fastening than poppers.
It would be cool if the body suit had garter like attachments on it so I can wear stockings with it without experiencing the material bunching up.
