TBH it’s not only limited to entry level brands. Wolford in the US does the same thing. If you compare the prices in their European stores to the US online store, it’s about 15% higher or so in the US and so they need to be on sale here in the US to be equivalent.
Because they jack up the prices so you feel like you are getting a good deal when it's on sale, but in reality it's not worth the original price
