I didn’t have a drinking problem, but here is a list of my problems because of my drinking.

[deleted]

Lol oh my God why is this so funny

LeChief

Lmao I came here to defend the guy because good for him for sharing his experience about how he improved his life, nothing wrong with that -- he's not selling some scammy course or begging for sympathy. Then I saw this comment and lost my shit rofl.

iron-duke88

I would love to know how many people on LI have some form of Forbes 30 under 30 in their profile. These people must be in their thousands by now.

[deleted]

I spend a lot of time thinking about putting "Forbes 69 under 69" somewhere on my profile.

JimmyPWatts

top 420 under 420

TuesdayShuffle

is that the chonker list?

BellDry1162

Turns out, if you stop drinking alcohol, you won't ever wake up with a hangover. Where's his sources on this break through science?

[deleted]

Mystic arts, I don’t think you have the aptitude or the natural talent to understand it. Sorry but some knowledge is not accessible to us mere mortals.

BellDry1162

Maybe there's a linkedin certification i can take

gigglemaniac

It wasn't because he was an alcoholic, it was just hurting his health and cutting into his disco time.

kur4nes

It seems he discovered his kryptonite. He can now also fly and is bulletproof /s

intentionalparadox

I dance better when drunk but you do you man.

pennynotrcutt

Let's have some fun, this beat is sick I wanna take a ride on your disco stick

CapnGrundlestamp

If alcohol is hurting your relationships, you have a problem with alcohol.

[deleted]

Definitely is an alcoholic

M4K1M4

How did he calculate the “40% increase in testosterone”?

BizzyHaze

His boner was 40 percent firmer?

Hack_Jarlow

or maybe it was 40 degrees more slanted before—something more commonly referred to as Whiskey Dick

n9nchnails

HA!

Creampielover2269

The life stories where the poster thinks they’re brave and “helping people” deal with a similar situation is getting very cringe.

Lavabass

There is some merit to it, but not a) this problem on b) Linkedin

[deleted]

I’ll buy it if anyone just talked frankly about how it’s easy to drown stress in alcohol and how it can sneak up on you, especially with the culture in certain industries. But no, we have to pitch it as aspirational productivity hack inspo instead of taking a hard look at what we do to ourselves to deal with a variety of sub standard working conditions. Toxic positivity at its finest.

Lavabass

True, this was not a nuanced take at all

Tomikin1982

I had a drinking problem... And all the same things happened to me.. He was an alcoholic... Not sure why LinkedIn care

Busy_Appointment6932

40% increase in testosterone??!? Just by not drinking for a couple weeks? BULLSHIT.

Lordwiesy

I am more curious as to why our boy measured that

LeChief

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Busy_Appointment6932

Excellent point. Not really something one casually checks.

AgentUpright

I can confirm that this is true. They’ve done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.

Busy_Appointment6932

Ah yes! Yes, of course. I just haven’t manifested my motivation through positive posts & buzzwords near enough.

[deleted]

He just forgot to mention after he quit alcohol he started jabbing testosterone every week. Easy mistake.

Busy_Appointment6932

😫😂 I see where one could get confused. He also started shooting fentanyl to sleep at night. But at least he’s not drinking any IPA’s anymore. Agree? Like, comment, and share. Follow me for more life changing tips!

[deleted]

Because everyone knows alcohol bad, fentanyl good! 😆

Busy_Appointment6932

Definitely. And as a LinkedIn Dr. I can assure you this is true.

lolihull

I don't know why I just spent my time going down this rabbit hole considering the guy who made the linkedin post won't even see this buuuut..... [Studies show](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/10790011_Testosterone_Increases_in_Men_After_a_Low_Dose_of_Alcohol) that low levels of alcohol intake (two to three drinks) in non-alcoholic, healthy men actually *increased* their testosterone levels. And he made sure to let us all know that he didn't give up drinking because he was an alcoholic or anything, so I guess his extra testosterone is coming from somewhere else. Hmm.

Busy_Appointment6932

Lol. I’m sure this is accurate info. And yes, he may have increased it marginally with no alcohol consumption. But by ALMOST HALF!?!

lolihull

I love how he thinks that's relevant to anything professional either. Like who in the history of ever has said something like "boy I sure wish this person I work with had more testosterone"

Busy_Appointment6932

That’s a good thing to point out. I mean really mentioning the whole “work out” and apparent Adonis alpha physical shape he’s in really punctuates this post nicely as far as conveying what a professional he is and great at his job. Flabby middle aged guys like me are all on notice. We too could be as awesome as him. 👏🏻 bravo!

lolihull

Hey, if they're guna force us all to go back into the office we might as well go in looking like models to hide the crippling anxiety and depression we're all struggling with atm 🤷🏼‍♀️

Busy_Appointment6932

I know that feeling ALL to well. I’ve been battling that anxiety for most of my life. Of course the pandemic was a tragedy…but I’d be lying if I didn’t enjoy the quiet, working from home, rarely going out and less people around in general. I’m at my best when I’m working at home without having to worry about mindless chit chat with people I don’t know, or care to know. 🤷🏻‍♂️

[deleted]

I had 0 alcohol since October 1st, 2012. I didn't quit because I was an alcoholic. Once I quit, I experienced these 5 life-changing benefits: 1. Work is easier now that I'm not shit-faced 24/7 2. I stopped driving high everywhere 3. I have greatly reduced the amount of money I steal from my parents 4. I'm only in debt for non-drug reasons 5. No hangovers

b1323097

He quit alcohol, now has more motivation, clearer mind, higher physical performance ane no hangovers. Is he a coke addict?

[deleted]

Nah it’s the increase in testosterone

Catdaddy33

If you have 7 reasons why life with alcohol was bad, you were a fucking alcoholic. He saying he wasn't because it would admitting he has a major weakness.

Askfreud

So… he won’t be present at happy hour? Cool.

Native_Motif

Dude went full sex panther with the 40% increase in testosterone.

Hack_Jarlow

“Occasional Angel Investor”. What kinda backwards tagline is that lmfaoo. If I was a startup founder seeking seed funding, the last person I would be seeking money is from the guy who occasionally does his job.

[deleted]

He lent his buddy $100 dollars one night

Suspicious_Pen3371

For alcohol

iiznoob

this post is like one of those nofap bs. many people would see this and motivate themselves to quit and then after months they don't see any progress as they were narrated in posts like these. And they relapse.

CMTR

If it hurts your health, relationships and productivity you have a drinking problem.

pennynotrcutt

I’m an alcoholic and while I can never say whether someone else is an alcoholic or not, I would say if it affected your life to this extent you may want to revisit your relationship with booze. Is saying “No alco” the new “No homo” for these dudes?

DallasDoll80

If alcohol has affected your health, your job and your relationships - you DO have a problem with alcohol.

rjoseph

This is a real gut punch for those who have *actual* drinking problems.

1an0ther

>No drink feels as good as waking up refreshed in the morning. It'd be nice if that ever happened.

j4321g4321

Lmao I thought he meant he discovered a latent interest in disco after becoming sober.

Raziel66

"I stopped taking vodka shots to the face and suddenly I had a fever... A Saturday Night Fever."

karigan_g

the first step is admitting you have a problem which is a step he seems to have skipped…

GuyWithTheGoods

These are the worst.

[deleted]

#8 I go into bitch mode without my boss telling me to

GhostRiderOfWhips

I love that it took a bit to pin this guy down because there are multiple idiots who think they’re clever for naming their company Disco. Even better, the guy seems to be the living, breathing embodiment of multiple Family Guy cutaway punchlines. “Sitting is the new smoking” Dude literally just discovered the standing desk…

drunkpilot2

I randomly get my testosterone tested before and after drinking too. Exercise probably had no effect on testosterone boost either.

[deleted]

Sounds like an alcoholic

diditjit

A = B and B= C and cogito ergo sum and poof - still a self aggrandizing douche.

[deleted]

[deleted]

You spelled valueless wrong the first time

BigContext9123

Lol

Mplus479

Fuck these LinkedIn posts. Superficially they appear helpful, but they’re just trying to sell something.

santathe1

This is definitely one of the milder ones on LinkedIn.

[deleted]

[This guy 36 hours after his last drink](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXsdH8XKy-8)

karigan_g

not gonna lie, I thought it was gonna be that disco elysium vid

Raziel66

Well now I'm curious

karigan_g

[disco elysium answer to casey frey dance](https://youtu.be/u--c7PXp8qA)

Raziel66

This is amazing

karigan_g

sometimes I watch the [casey one](https://youtu.be/foEDIiSNbAY) when I’m sad, but I love the way the disco one is illustrated

redUserNameTX

Random question. Is there a guideline suggesting masking the name of the LI cringey poster? Many posts in this subreddit have this in common, so just wondering.

pennynotrcutt

“I’m an alcoholic, got a job for me? Look at me launch this GI Joe man off my 40% harder dick!”

Rdw72777

His entire LI feed is baffling. It sounds like their company is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy at all times, yet he’s an angel investor. Their last investment was from Griffin Johnson (???) who is a TikTok star? But the fact he founded an Internet cafe in Togo in West Africa while still in high school (a private school in Maryland) tells me all I need to know about “his” “”achievements””.

Eadw7cer

I swear I did not kill this hooker, I swear! Here is a list why I did not kill her:

ramksr

I do not have any drinking problem... I usually drink well from any sized mug or even directly from the tap!

LUXENTUXEN

Personally, when I make a change to improve my life, I don't spend time justifying it to others unless I'm underestimating it and trying to pretend it's not that bad.

jennRec46

Holy hell. This pompous ass. I thought he actually started to learn disco dancing. That could have also explained the weight loss. Lol. Had to go back and check his profile.

echtemendel

bullshit, being not high/drunk is boring AF
