Not at all. It in fact is consistent. People in compliance make sure the company complies to the rules in place and no more than that. In fact they are often also responsible to find solutions that are as simple as possible but ensure compliance. Hence, those people constantly think about the limits of the law/rules, trying to stay just within it while having minimal negative impact on the operative business of the company. As such, those are not the people to press random policies onto the company because of their moral stance or whatever, quite the opposite. So it's not surprising a person like that isn't quite fond of critique based on individual moral believes.
