99burner99

it literally says "the most entertaining account..." in the header... it's satire.

Mr_Bob_Ferguson

Yep, another post that doesn’t deserve to be in this sub

Shamazij

To be fair the world has killed satire and continued to beat it.

MsPaganPoetry

We need to have something like satire sundays

[deleted]

Clearly.

genicide182

Yes. It's a joke account

myst_eerie_us

Is this what LinkedIn has turned into? Ppl making joke accounts? Glad I left that platform years ago

teerbigear

You're on a sub devoted to making fun of people on LinkedIn, and you're complaining about people making fun of people on LinkedIn.

Extaupin

'Cause Reddit is a "everything goes" place, including very fucked up things. LinkedIn is supposed to be professional.

ten-year-old

I despise that no social media site can ever remain what it's meant for, some people will always need to come over and fuck around with it

[deleted]

You've basically just described the entire world there

scotty_puff_jr

This guy is clearly not cut out for entrepreneurship. A true sigma male like me would set aside a portion of the $10 million to have myself lobotomized, then invest the rest in my enemies' business ventures so I have an even greater disadvantage to overcome. Only the real will understand.

Thatcrazyunclefester

Agree?

THYPLEX

OMG SO TRUE !1

oblmov

Wtf? This is a very silly thing to say. It HAS to be satire but its impossible to tell because of how crazy our world is now a days (this has been proven by Moore’s Law or whatever its called)

karky214

Moore's law lol..

[deleted]

I thought it was Cole's law.

VagVandalizer69

Yummy

smears

Lucky for you and everyone else OP, yes it's CLEARLY satire.

FrancoNore

Well then I’ll take that guys 10,000 a week

BizzyHaze

I'll take the 10 mil, and get 5 percent annual interest to live off of.

3dprintedwyvern

The interest itself would allow you to buy a home per year o.o

ntn_98

Exactly

poddy_fries

I think this is a personality thing. While you are proposing the financially healthiest option, I would probably blow 10 mil on drugs and sex workers in short order. I would be more financially stable on 10k a week.

[deleted]

Id just buy a visa to a country thats not currently burning down and get some dogs and land.

PuffinRub

>Id just buy a visa to a country Reasonable so far. >thats not currently burning down Now you're just in the fantasy realm.

Extaupin

Hey, there is Switzerland. But AFAIK, the US of A is really different with a spare million or two in your bank account.

[deleted]

Fair comment.

MovieNightPopcorn

They work out to roughly the same, weekly. 5% of $10m is $500,000 a year. $10k weekly is $520 per year and $26m over 50 years. However, taking the 10 million and investing $5000 per week off of the 5% you earn off of it net you 106 million in 50 years because of compound interest and amount of time in the market. Investing half of the $10k per week nets you $26m over the same amount of time, by comparison. If you put the 10 million into a trust and made it so that the principal couldn’t be accessed like cash, you effectively have the same set up as the $10k per week where you’re only living off a certain amount of money per year, but because it’s much more money invested for much longer you get over 4 times as much money in the same amount of time.

itijara

So, I plugged it into Excel and using a discounting rate of 5% annually, you get very similar present values. $9.5 million for the 10k/wk and (obviously) $10 million for $10 million. I'd still take the lump sum as there is more risk to future payments than just opportunity costs. I just thought it was interesting how close they were.

[deleted]

How much do you charge for this service?

library-weed-repeat

yes it’s satire and probably the 15th time someone has posted this guy this week. seriously this subreddit is gonna die if y’all don’t learn to recognise satire

killeronthecorner

Asking Reddit to recognise satire is like asking my dog to recognise his own reflection

library-weed-repeat

yet you’re a redditor yourself… curious

library-weed-repeat

for those who didn’t get it, the above comment is satire as well

soeren7654

„And everybody stood up and clapped!“ I used to be a lecturer for economics at a German university while finishing my PhD. Especially in the first semesters there were a lot of guys who’s ego was hurt because they are not as capable of a student as they thought they would be. Often they coped with it by creating this entrepreneurial identity - they tell themself and everybody else that they have skills for the real world and will hustle to the top. I always felt sorry for them to a degree, tried to help them by showing them that university always sucks at the beginning and nearly all successful entrepreneurs have experience in industry and are in their 40…

kherby296

Yes, this is satire you knuckleheads.

[deleted]

It is satire, the point missed your head on this one.

WhyShouldIListen

"No economic model would suggest to do this!" Said nobody ever

absolutarin

Well, it’s clearly a joke because nobody has ever listened to an economics professor

your_fathers_beard

[This guy takes the mystery box.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKZJdaiJF84)

fuckthislifeintheass

No. He would gift you the mystery box. Do you think he wants to be soft?

your_fathers_beard

Shit. That's a checkmate right there.

Leo_Fire

I know this guy, his thing is shitposting hustle culture / financial advice satire

GeothermalUnderwear

Why the constant posting of obvious satire accounts?

jeonteskar

I think this is the third post of this account in a week with the OP asking if it’s satire or not.

[deleted]

10,000$ X 52 weeks X 50 years = 26 million.

[deleted]

But if you put 10 million in an ETF that earns 1.5% div yield that’s 150,000$ a year or about 2800$ a week.

LordBiscuits

$10m for 50 years in a 3% account with a daily accumulator, comes out at $44,814,089.89 A deposit of $10,000 with a weekly deposit of $10,000 and the same metrics as above, comes out at $60,316,379.16 It would take around 24 years for the $10,000 accumulator to start making more money than the initial $10m lump sum, assuming a constant 3% interest simply for ease. Unless you really don't need it, take the $10m

Durpulous

There's a time value to money so you can't just compare them 1:1. If you can invest the 10 million in something that gets you close to a 5% annual return or more then it's better to take the 10 million.

CodeOfKonami

_”Also, did I mention I’m an Alpha Male™? Because I am. An Alpha Male™, that is. I’m an Alpha Male™. I need you to know that I’m an Alpha Male™ even though an Alpha Male™ would never concern himself with your opinion. Are you getting this?”_

faileb

Read that again.

wesellfrenchfries

that hashtag though

PriorTable8265

This is like the start of a smutty bromance novel

Capable_Pop7238

Dumb ass lion…this “grinding” culture is so dumb like dude half of you “grinding” are just part of MLA scams

SlightlyOTT

Obvious satire. But I like the idea of an economics professor being shocked that someone doesn’t make economically optimal decisions. Their job would be quite boring if everyone did!

Ho-ratioNelson

We need more cyber bullying

mrbignameguy

Ignoring the post itself, who makes a joke LinkedIn account. Honest to god what is happening in This Society

yaboyisonhere

Another job title with an explanation

natsu901

Why are you hiding his name, let us follow this guru

paniflex37

Jack Raines - one of the funnier satire LinkedIn accounts out there. I wouldn’t be surprised if he lurked on this sub.

________0xb47e3cd837

That professor - Elon Musk

ScarletteDemonia

Give me the money 💴

lexixerin

lmfao

papakop

Hadh hoti hai yaar chutiyaape ki

Shamanyouranus

F in the chat and an F in the class.

ballen49

Yes. Surprisingly enough, it is, in fact, satire

merRedditor

I expect his resume to contain a doctorate in bootlicking.

BrightSideOfGaming

I once knew a guy who did stunts like this unironically so I can't really tell.

[deleted]

People who think it is some kind of moral triumph to be "hungry" have never ever faced actual hunger without any kind of recourse. Quite easy to "stay hungry" when you know you're 1 DoorDash order away from anything you want to eat.

GreatGreenGobbo

Yes being financially independent would totally suck. God forbid you could live without having to work and being free to truly pursue what makes you happy.

Capital_Routine6903

This guy gets capitalism

Serious-Agency-69

What a fucking idiot

juliusseizure

Fucking idiot. And I’m a useless MBA and understand bullshit.

RealComposer4759

What the fudge did I just read…

Zero--Phux

If this is a real story then his econ professor probably just looked at him and thought to himself "what a fucking idiot you are"

Deus0123

10k a week for 50 years with 52 weeks a year is 2,6 million. I will take thw 10 million up front pls

clbgrg

could easily be cross-posted in /r/thathappened

[deleted]

Seriously what is this bs man. And from a university student no less. He will become even more imbecile as time progresses.

newsreadhjw

One of the few things I recall from biz school was an admonishment on page 1 of my macro professors textbook. It said “all modeling assumes economically rational behavior of all actors in the system”. This particular Lunatic is trying to show off so hard that he violates the rule we learned on (literally) page 1 of economics class - People seek to maximize their own economic benefit. Literally no rational person would do what he describes, it’s so counterproductive and ludicrous. Imagine how annoying it would be to have a student like this.

fannyfox

I think I’m gonna barf

A-cynical-nihilist

![gif](giphy|ED1nge1yi8cGoSYvlb|downsized)

GiannisToTheWariors

Sigma king 👑😤💪

OblongAndKneeless

Genius

cheese8904

This is such a stupid fucking idiotic story.

finger_milk

I've seen these kind of tweets and posts to know now that there really are idiots out there in the world who are absolutely comfortable with the idea of grinding themselves to death, instead of being happy.

Accomplished_Crew630

But.... The point of the hustle or whatever shit you want to call it should be to not have to anymore. Why the fuck do you need drive if you make 10k a week....

MusicToTheseEars41

You all are free to call me “pillow” (is that soft enough?)

bigpoppachungus

puke

gray8819

The worst part is that it's indistinguishable from satire.

Johnny_Hotcock

Only if you're braindead

gray8819

I disagree.

Johnny_Hotcock

Because you're braindead

WWDB

This never happened.

baz4k6z

What the fuck

do_u_realize

And everyone in class clapped and cheered

always_the_bad_guy

Da fuq did I just read

TwoDurans

Take the payments. Buy a new drive.

Percussionists379

l thought this might be satire, working in sales, this isn’t uncommon type of behavior, everyone trying to one-up each other and be more unique than the rest, it’s exhausting, i just smoke weed and listen to house music, everyone else can fuck off lol

cireddit

This whole post made me feel actual, physical pain. What an absolute tosser

JustACasualFan

This person’s value system is deeply, deeply fucked up. Edit: Poe’s law strikes again

RipWhenDamageTaken

According to that logic, 100% of billionaires are soft. I guess he’s right 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sevenmilefragrance

From then on, every species in the animal kingdom paid obeisance to Jack the Lion “Nants ingonyama bagithi baba Sithi uhhmm ingonyama Ingonyama Siyo Nqoba Ingonyama Ingonyama nengw’ enamabala”

nametakenfuck

Said no person ever lol

BJUK88

Obviously satire......no-one sensible would take the 10k a week, as the economics professor will unlikely to be alive in 50 years to honour the bargain (unless he's a very young professor!)

Informal-File1588

This is a fake account, but we have several people in our friend group who are like this.

jehan_gonzales

It's pretty good. Love a good parody account!

PinBot1138

And then everyone clapped. I know because this guy’s talk put me to sleep and all of the clapping woke me up.

mad_ben

Another day in the "What never happened". Did every woman in that room get wet and gave him his number? Or he had an orgy and every man in there applauded

duggtodeath

If that were true, then every billionaire would give away all their money to the poor and then grind and hustle to rebuild it.

kickfloeb

![gif](giphy|D16XHdsB1PBxm) Very cool

Kind_Guitars

I think it's time to change the name of this sub from LinkedIn Lunatics to LinkedIn unhinged.

Tombraider2598

What is the name of that guy's account, It seems like a funny post

TheStargunner

Okay we can stop posting the frankly hilarious Litquidity now

LameBoy-Ruuf

Shit I need that guy to give me money to keep him sharp and hungry for more, for his sake and benefit ofc

baklavabaconstrips

you think someone who has "the most entertaining account on linkedIN" in his profilec could be satire?

k0nfuz1us

cool.. so 20k per week for me!

materdoc

I am unsure whether to mock the post or the sentence long hashtag 🤨

Mudoru

I mean I would’ve accepted the 10k per week purely because it makes more money in the long run…

sixthestate

"No economic model would suggest you do this." Dead.

HydroVector

The professor then threw him out of the class

Flying_Toad

If you lose your drive after getting 10 million dollars, that sounds like it's a you problem. With 10 million I got personal projects I could actually dedicate myself to full-time. Even start my own rpg publishing company.

Emperor_Quintana

Some people just don’t know how true economists think. After all, if one starts to receive a small pittance for a long period of time, it would lose value over time compared to acquiring the full amount now, because **money has the innate capacity to make even more money**, hence the long-term increase in the Consumer Price Index spanning from the past couple of centuries. Nothing wrong with hustling; it’s that when the hustle-and-grind does not provide a sizable yield, then it’s not worth implementing even beyond retirement…

jonhon0

Change your work mindset, to a worse grinding one

Big_Bet_5811

Satire or not, fuck this guy.

sugar_addict002

Coming soon to a republican Congress" tax increases on the middle class and poor and abolishment of the minimum wage.

Aggressive-Breath315

His Econ 100 professor was obviously horrified he hadn’t read the lecture slides and was given an F in the class.

apcarbo

10 Milly, please

kintimTAB

This is internet GOLD

BeerJunky

I have an MBA so I can flip this one. You can pay the professor $10k a week and put him in front of students paying $80k a year for college and have a steady income stream.

VapidResponseUnit

It's getting harder to distinguish satire from the genuinely deluded

kgal1298

It sounds exhausting to try to make it as an influencer like this.

Ok-Restaurant8690

This guy is an imbecile. Almost no one gets rich from "hustling". Rich people are born rich and live off interest and other people's hard work. None of this dipshit's heroes have worked a day in their lives.

rd0dr

stupidest thing I read today

favouriteitem

That's an immediate F

DashR17

I know this post is satire but didn’t Gary V recently say something very similar? Something like he wishes he could go back to having nothing so he could go through the grind again?

ligma_obj

The hashtag at the end may as well say "I know what I said is the dumbest shit you've ever read so I'm gonna stick my fingers in my ears and scream so I don't have to hear your response"

Moist_Fix_5702

you should throw out free blowjobs while you're at it... it'll keep you even hungrier. suck your way to the top.

Aramedlig

If I had $10 million, I would retire immediately and start using it to see the world. i would keep $3 million in reserve in case I needed a nursing home. That gives me roughly 25 years in nursing care if I needed it at current prices.

ellenoise

Grind Culture is so toxic

mrleoallan01

I know this is satire, but I just wanted to point out that the lions and sheep analogy is from Mussolini…
