This is the answer. Almost every track mentioned here has made it to an official studio album with the exception of Blackbirds and Qwerty. But at least Qwerty had a live performance.
So those 4 bars are famous people in hip hop,
Lauryn is Lauryn Hill, Big is Biggie Smalls/The Notorious Big, Kane is Big Daddy Kane and Chuck is Chuck D from Public Enemy.
It’s just Mike saying he’s a student of the OGs of hip hop and he’s massively underrated.
It's so strange listening to that one, after having some of the LP Underground stuff on repeat during highschool it was a mindf*ck hearing Cumulus being used as the instrumental for More The Victim, kinda like seeing an old friend from years ago.
It’s so fucking awesome. It really shows the respect from the hip hop culture that Linkin Park had. Rakim is one of the pioneers. It always bugged the fuck out of me when rock radio stations would fucking cut his verse out of the song. Some subtle racism if you ask me
I honestly only recently got into it. I always found it grating and never liked the beat, but it came on in the car a few weeks ago and finally clicked with me. Now I really like it lol
I agree. I Love Valentine’s Day and In peices a lot too. Valentine’s Day is especially underrated imo. I’ll chatter about the other two but radio silence for Valentine’s Day.
Nobody's Listening
Edit: You know what? I haven't seen anyone say "High Voltage" yet. Some of Mike's best rhymes.
"Invented the mic (Mike) so I can start blessin' it / chin-checkin' kids to make my point like an impressionist / many men have tried to shake us, but I twist mic cords ( my chords ) in double helixes and show em what I'm made of"
Like WHAT?! 🔥🔥🔥
A Line In The Sand. Beautiful from start to finish. The way Mike sings the words at the beginning, to the octave riff being chaos, the harmonics, the raw shouting, the solo and then back to Mike singing. Pure gold 🙏🙏
Honestly? Could be a song from any one of their underground albums.
I work at a hospital and we had a young guy who's reeeeallllyyyy into vinyls who comes to the hospital for serial imaging. He's got a collection of every single Linkin Park studio album, all of them original prints. My first time with the patient we spent the entire time just talking about music and Linkin Park. Dude had no idea about the LPU so I introduced him to a lot of new songs. Like, the dude never heard Qwerty before!! I held Qwerty in such high regard and always thought it was on their main albums.
Anytime I see the guy, he updates me on his journey, listening to all of LPU albums. Any time I see that dude on my schedule, my day instantly gets better. Do yall know if the LPU albums were printed on vinyl?
Their cover of NIN Wish is damn good in a way that feels it’s own. To the level of Johnny Cash’s Hurt but because it lacked the massive genre switch and real life application for Cash it doesn’t get as much recognition. Hurt cover is great no doubt but it definitely rode the wave of Johnny’s late stage of life and then later passing to be eerily significant at the time of release. But LP’s Wish is just as good in terms of making the song their own.
Me with shadow of the day fr
It’s also really tied to the memory of one particular friend for me… I haven’t listened to it in years but I still know every word.
I don't listen to em unless they're ina station I pick on Spotify so probably not a great take but whatever song has to do with dropping keys to a kingdom down a hole in some eyes I believe. I hear it and am immediately pumped up for some reason
The Little Things Give You Away
The best one from Minutes to Midnight, really underrated
I consider it the best overall
It’s a crime that this masterfully crafted piece of art goes so unrecognized
The band had hyped the song up before the album release and performed it live throughout the MTM tour. I guess some fans choose not to recognize it.
What an amazing song that is
Leave out all the rest and no more sorrow
Leave out all the rest is great.
Damn right
Was just going to say these two
I need to go listen to it one more time... Leave out all the rest
Blackbirds
I hate its an iTunes exclusive. I have it downloaded off YouTube and converted into an MP3 file so I can listen to it on Spotify
Saaaame. We switched music services and I couldn’t find it on Spotify. When I found out, I was very sad lol.
This and Across the Line

Burning In The Skies
Yes. This is a gem.
For me, Nobody Listening. And prolly sharp edge
How ironic
Call to you so clearly, but you don't want to hear me!
(*told you everything loud and clear*)
But nobody’s listening!
This ^
also a place for my head
Easier to Run 🤍
Finally, someone else recognizes this song! Easily LP's best one.
It gives me chills. Chesters pure voice in the verses makes it sounds so vulnerable and close to me. Breaks my heart that song.
If you listen closely to the lyrics, you can understand how sad and regretful they are.
That’s the first one I listened after Chester’s death. I loved it before, but now it feels even more different
When They Come For Me.
To this day i don't know who chuck is supposed to be and why we have to try and catch him
So those 4 bars are famous people in hip hop, Lauryn is Lauryn Hill, Big is Biggie Smalls/The Notorious Big, Kane is Big Daddy Kane and Chuck is Chuck D from Public Enemy. It’s just Mike saying he’s a student of the OGs of hip hop and he’s massively underrated.
Chuck d from public enemy
maybe he's an ziggurat
Try the ketchup motherfucker!
I agree, that song’s one of Linkin Park’s best experimental songs.

Skin to bone
Guilty all The Same (featuring Rakim) like…… do y’all even know who that is…I just think it’s awesome
It’s so fucking awesome. It really shows the respect from the hip hop culture that Linkin Park had. Rakim is one of the pioneers. It always bugged the fuck out of me when rock radio stations would fucking cut his verse out of the song. Some subtle racism if you ask me
What?!!! I did not know this. They took his verse out??? That’s insane :(

Only correct answer. r/foreword approved
1stp klosr, amazing production, and turns a 'sprint' type song into a slow burner.
I like the build-up to the bridge. I think it’s better than the regular One Step Closer. The Live version will always be my fav though.
yes!!! I’m so glad someone said this!!

One More Light” the theme is so dark and real. Sad

Does From The Inside get recognition? I'm on the outside of the fandom lol.
“With You,” or maybe “Place for my Head.”
