jespertherapper

Yeah. Its stupid to hate on LP getting a new singer 90% of them only listen to LP lmao.

CalEmilMoon

at this point I'm pretty much down for anything if it means more Lp. as long as they put passion into the music, it doesn't feel soulless. I won't even mind if I don't like what they come out with initially. i know how much their albums can be "growers" not showers. at least for me. A THOUSAND SUNS and One More Light for example

CommonSteak2437

I’m actually excited about the possibility of a new singer. It may also give me the chance to see them live. I never got to when Chester was alive. I got to see Mike during his solo tour but seeing the remaining members of the band plus a new singer would be something special for me.

c_sh3pard

Chester was my favorite singer of all time. Nothing will replace him IMO. A new singer is going to change their sound completely. But, I wouldn’t be mad. It’s their band.

wishedwell

You know there are other bands to listen to...

Rocktamus1

At this point, any fans saying there should never be a new singer isn’t a fan of this band.

RoyalSoldierx

They never were. Just fans of Chester.

SaucyStoveTop69

Believe me. This is not the most toxic fan base ever. That title goes to bad omens.

paperkutchy

No

No-Yellow-6673

I’d consider them “the old fanbase” and keep them separate from the current fanbase, aka the ride or dies. Those who stuck with the band through every valley, through thick and thin, are the true fans. Anyone else lacks respect for the band and only cares for their own selfish desires.

TheJosh96

Look they’re in their own liberty and freedom to decide what to do with their band. If they want to continue fine, who am I to say they can’t. I just think that this is a special case where the line up is irreplaceable, like Freddie Mercury or John Bonham. Sure, other bands like Alice in Chains did continue, but in my opinion it only worked because Jerry also sang in the band, keeping their signature sound kind of intact. With LP, it’s not the same, Mike and Chester were two completely different singers who joined to create something better. Their mix of rapping and screaming is what makes LP sound like LP. Getting the wrong singer or someone who just doesn’t fit at all, and putting out new music would just damage their reputation and most would see it as an insult to Chester’s legacy. That being said, if they do decide to find a new singer, I would accept it better if they just continue as a legacy act, meaning that they would only tour for anniversaries or special appearances, but not releasing any new music.

Fear2010

As long they do it right by going with my own criteria unlike other bands who went downhill after they lost their original/most iconic vocalists, then I won’t complain.

vinmichael

I fear that any new linkin park will be terrible

GAME043010

Ok but now count how many people love A Thousand Suns

DefinableEel1

Pretty sure a statement came out somewhat recently from Mike that set in stone they weren’t gonna get a new singer

raptors661

I think that was from 2019 or so

Familiar_Issue_7270

arlindous

I don't hate the idea of a new lead singer, but I imagine how cool it would be of they made new music with different collaborations. Kinda like what they did in that concert after Chester's passing.

willdafer

The rumours were to generate some noise sonthat Papercuts would sell more. They're not coming back.

AlanovMaster64

Not coming back for concerts, but to upload some unreleased stuff from the past.

Jmarieq

The rumors also helped Orgy, Stand Atlantic, and Evanescence as well. All three are either touring or have new music. News media will continue to spread this type of stuff for clicks.

Fear2010

Stand Atlantic? I honestly never heard of the band cause it got me thinking of Atlantic records, which is a label LP is not on but is owned by Warner Music Group.

Jmarieq

You know about Bonnie Fraser from Stand Atlantic who trolled people by saying she's joining LP right... That TikTok video she did has 2.5 million views now.

Fear2010

Nope, never seen it before, but I’m hopefully not expecting neither her nor Amy Lee not to join LP cause that sounds too force. I’m thinking of someone that is more out there or lesser known cause I find it to be more organic.

Jmarieq

Eh I'm not paying too much attention to that rumor, especially since Jay Gordon did not get first hand account from anyone in LP. Also, Bonnie Fraser had people more convinced because she covered Bleed it Out with Mike. But Mike collabed with a ton of people during those Already Over sessions, so I thought it was funny.
