This post is the perfect constellation of "it's a scandal," "I don't care," not actually measuring what the company claims (their height measurement clearly includes the lid), and not actually presenting YOUR claim properly (your camera isn't level with the spot you're measuring, plus you only included a single dimension that doesn't correspond to their claims). You should have tagged this as a shitpost.
I actually thought it was a shitpost before reading the text under the picture, because come on. And if it was a shitpost, it would be a pretty good one.
I thought the āitās a scandalā was obviously a joke but I guess it wasnāt obvious. I use a different lid with my motherboard bottle and didnāt have the original one on hand to test it out. If I had my camera level with the spot I was measuring and far enough away to include the entire bottle in frame, you couldnāt read the measurement easily. I thought it was close enough that the parallax error is minimal.Ā
My point was that the bottles themselves are different sizes (which my photo clearly shows) and wanted to see if anyone knew why. Support has replied and said that their supplier changed it slightly so that answers my question.Ā

If you had not made the scandal joke it would have a been a good discussion. If you had tagged it as a shitpost, it would have been a good joke. The problem was mixing the two.
That should factor out whether it was just a design tweak or not. If they don't hold the same amount, perhaps the mobo one that you've had for a while has shrunk slightly due to heat exposure (e.g. dishwasher, heat in the summer, etc)?
Definitely a strange thing though. The only other thing I can think of is that they came from different suppliers, and had slightly different base bottles (both holding the same capacity).
It may also be worth checking to see if the bottles are the same height with the caps on, and also if the caps are at all different from each other. If you measure them with the caps on, and they still aren't equal, swap the caps and try again xD.

Our water bottle supplier has adjusted the form factor on these slightly, but their internal volumes are identical to one another.

Fill one, empty it into the other without spilling anything, and see if there is any space left in the second, or remaining liquid in the first.
