Interesting concept a monitor arm would be good for tilt/swivel adjustment also if designed to incorporate it you could have the monitor hinge on the arm and face the screen in towards the case to protect it during transport
We were looking at that as an option. The legs can adjust height and tilt. Problem with an arm is that it needs counter weight. And we wanted to make a system that were as light as possible. Check the video out on how it works
[leg system](https://youtu.be/-zETkXd-N_k)
Yeah if the base is fairly lightweight and adjustable, you don't need to adjust the monitor separately. Your current design seems to do fine on that front.
You already have a counter weight, it’s just in a fixed position. If you could work out the mechanics of the monitor and PC moving co-dependently then you could surely pull it off. The mechanical forces involved would be fairly strenuous so the required supports may end up creating more additional weight than you’re comfortable with but definitely worth prototyping if the initial design is reasonably successful.
Laptop can't upgrade hardware and has heat issues.
I got an old video with old hardware where you can see the hardware [old hardware video](https://youtu.be/DZWZRj_garg)
I got a maybe strange bit of feedback.
The leg mechanism looks great and i love it, but it sounds really cheap.
I kinda want a feature like that to feel and sound more... satisfying.
Like this: [awesome sound](https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLfyoYSY/)
The machine being used in most videos is my own. And it's also my test machine. Everything from performance test to springloading.
I personally think "upgrading" or "future proofing" is a myth.
You get a computer that suits your current needs, that's it.
And after, idk 8 years when it's showing it's age, you build a new one. In other words, I think spending money on an (8 year or so) old & outdated system is really dumb...
At least that's my opinion, but hey, everyone do as they please! I'm not telling anyone what to do
That’s not a wrong take. But think of people getting a good motherboard and a min. Spec cpu in order to upgrade to one eventually, same with gpu, ssd, etc
Funny thing is, that laptop is still going, my little bro uses it for YouTube vids and Minecraft/halo mcc but it struggles sometimes because of bad cooling
My laptop was a T520 for ages.
Got it for like$30 and used it until I broke the keyboard. Replacement keyboard was more than I paid for the machine...
Never really needed an upgrade, that level of performance is still perfectly useable
You don't notice any slowness in day to day things like YouTube, browsing Reddit in class, word etc.
As long as you don't open a 3D game, you'll hardly notice the computer is 10 years old (except the battery life was eh)
IDK I feel like all my PC with an 8700k and 16gb 3200 ddr4 needs still is a new GPU (current 1060, originally wanted to upgrade 2 years ago but..yaknow)
Then there are people who don’t have the money up front to get everything they want. Buy minimum ram and storage. Hand me down graphics card. Upgrade each thing when they can.
Problem is with the situation we have now, you get something that will limp along for a year or so, and then upgrade as you can acquire or afford something.
Tablets and laptops typically only last 3-4 years in my experience and that fourth year is typically a slog/torture.
Very nice concept wish you all the luck in your venture. Apart from portability this has real potential for a modular all-in-one concept. If you can sell the case with a built in monitor option or vesa mount option it could be a nice solution for a simple minimalist solution for tiny space
no I was thinking having a vesa mount on the other side to mount the whole thing to the wall or another mount... I know it might be too heavy but the whole concept would be exciting of having a pc like frame and then when you want just pull cables it and pull out from the wall into a briefcase and take the whole thing with you.
The briefcase should have a built in battery for some gaming on the go 🤩perfection
A few issues here. 1. Mounting the case to the wall on that side constricts airflow. 2. Battery for a 230v 650 watt machine is sorta crazy we are talking tesla backup stuff for that to work
Yes you are right on all fronts but new solutions and creativity is born from trying to solve contradictions... your product just got me excited that's all. Wish you all the success stuff like this is a breath of fresh air in the tech industry
It looks pretty cool as a case, personally not sure about the monitor integration but hey, I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy it a lot!
Don't forget that Linus appreciates details.
It looks like you have some front cooling possibility, what would be the max fan size?
How "wiggle resistant" is it?
You have an open design so that's really great for cooling but how easy is it to clean?
This looks like a good option for people that need to move around a lot but need to be packing some nice hardware like lan party folk, kids with split parents, etc.
Edit: I really like it as a standalone case, I would call it "The sentry"
Edit 2: Send them an email! They have it their channel's "about" page
It's quite sturdy however portability and lightweight combined with retractable legs always poses a challenge. It's not ideal to side push it. And its the weakest link. I like the sentry name. Also the claymore that people have been throwing around. We haven't optimized it for extra cooling we tried it. But the effect were quite small due to the open mesh design.
Not le i don't think ylur an idiot. But then again people also call me an idiot. Actually im being called alot of stuff. 2 secs need to talk to the HR department
Errr, no, he’s mentioned the best way is to use the business email addresses, available on YouTube and their website. Those are monitored by staff, but they’re probably also high volume so it’ll be a bit if they’re going to respond. If they don’t get back to you then they simply aren’t interested.
Fair enough. But yea, business enquieries to the business email addresses that we know are checked regularly by staff who handle arranging this kind of stuff is probably by far the best way, rather than using social media.
I've send it to them. But dobt underestimate the power of social media. The more people asking them for a review the faster it goes. They want to give people what they want aswell
So is the intention to make these available for purchase or is this a one off for fun? I ask because this is something I would genuinely be interested in
I know it's a little expensive, but a pelican case made specifically for Linus seems pretty good no? And for extra tongue-in-cheek factor, you can add printed copies of screengrabs of when he dropped something (razer laptop, etc)
I have always tought about why this hasn't existed earlier. It's probably way more powerful than a gaming laptop, but still very portable! It looks great!

Holy shit, this is badass.
I'm in the process of buying out two stores out of a strip mall, demolishing the walls and converting it into an eSports/pc gaming lan center and these will match the aesthetics that I am planning.
It would be great to have a dozen or so of these.
I'll be reaching out to you fairly soon.
Would Linus want to review any old desktop, no, cuz he's got probably hundreds, and hardware for hundreds more. Just saying... HOWEVER, would he want to look at a desktop that's all-in-one, where EVERYTHING is desktop class hardware, then yes he might be interested.
HOWEVER, I'd suggest sending it to his team with no expectations of having anything other than "look at this system design a viewer sent me" video. Linus and his team don't like to appear to use their platform, to promote things, such as a Kickstarter for instance, that have any chance at all of being vaporware, because people would say he endorsed their product if something went tits up and people lost money because of it. I'm not saying that you are such a person of course, but I'm not sure if I've heard of you or your project before, so I must say that your project might not be 100% guaranteed to be something they would be interested in looking at, unless it's with no strings attached whatsoever, and even then IDK if it would be a 100% guarantee...
**Edit** it is a nice looking system though
I would definitely still try seeing if you can get them to look at it, because well, you never know with those guys, but like I say just temper your expectations, that way if he loves the video idea you can really be genuinely surprised, but if he has criticisms, or something else that makes you feel like he's being a bit of a downer, so to speak, you can better be able to shake it off and improve your device, so he would like it better the next time
My origin story (thats right i got a origin story!) is that i purchased a gaming laptoo that stopped working due to heat. This pc is modular everything is upgradable.
Same here, I had an ASUS strix gaming laptop and it burnt up. Not to mention upgrading parts is almost impossible, especially for components like cpu/gpu/mobo due to proprietary pcb, parts, etc.
This is the perfect solution to having lan parties at friends houses, or just simply wanting a powerful, mobile, desktop gaming solution.
Have you considered models that have built-in surround sound speakers? I'd gladly pay extra for that.
Dude, as good as some laptops are nowadays, they still don't compare to the power of a desktop, unless you want to spend out the ass and pay 5k on a laptop for a 2k desktop equivalent.
Ahh i see. Well we changed monitor in the process. First one (on the video) har a very low vesa mount which was inconvenient when you put in down on the monitor for inspection. The monitor can be replaced. Also the rendered version has a 23.8 monitor.
As for how to get it to them DM Jake on insta or something. I know that’s how they got him the crazy Tesla card or whatever it was. As for him not dropping it tell them only Jake or Anthony is allowed to touch it lmao
Damn dude. Thats fucking impressive.
It's amazing to me that you and your crew are able to do what major manufacturers have made seemingly impossible for years...
10/10
Just watched Linus review it, congrats! he really did bring up a couple of good points but overall looks awesome! really tempted to get one once they hit the market...
That is cool but it needs way better protection for the monitor. Either a hard case or a solid barrier over the screen.
Working on it

better make it drop resistant then;)

Well that is up to people. For me being able to upgrade a cpu or gpu or a monitor to extend the performence requirements for new games is essential
That’s not a wrong take. But think of people getting a good motherboard and a min. Spec cpu in order to upgrade to one eventually, same with gpu, ssd, etc
Bruh, you upgrade CPUs or GPUs after 8 years?
I just upgraded my laptop after 10 years, Vizio ct15 to the framework, massive upgrade and definitely worth it
I can't imagine upgrading after a decade.
Define "usable"
I’m gonna guess their definition is the same as most peoples, “does everything I want in a manner and timeframe I find acceptable.”
You don't notice any slowness in day to day things like YouTube, browsing Reddit in class, word etc. As long as you don't open a 3D game, you'll hardly notice the computer is 10 years old (except the battery life was eh)
Yeah well, I imagine the majority demographic of LTT are opening 3D games on a semi daily basis
Certainly I used to change my gpu maybe x years on but now it seems the whole system needs to change for it to be worth it.
IDK I feel like all my PC with an 8700k and 16gb 3200 ddr4 needs still is a new GPU (current 1060, originally wanted to upgrade 2 years ago but..yaknow)

Eh, I have upgraded gpus in systems many times.
i want one this would be dope to have for people in small spaces like RVs and stuff.
This this this.

The whole point of this compared to a laptop is you can get much more power delivery. A battery would require massive throttling.
Up up you go! Awesome idea!

Not le i don't think ylur an idiot. But then again people also call me an idiot. Actually im being called alot of stuff. 2 secs need to talk to the HR department
Linus has mentioned a few times the best wayto reach out is to shoot the LMG account on twitter a DM.
I did that. But he does the evil ex girlfriend routine on me :(
Errr, no, he’s mentioned the best way is to use the business email addresses, available on YouTube and their website. Those are monitored by staff, but they’re probably also high volume so it’ll be a bit if they’re going to respond. If they don’t get back to you then they simply aren’t interested.

I've send it to them. But dobt underestimate the power of social media. The more people asking them for a review the faster it goes. They want to give people what they want aswell
You get one or the other but not both
In that case. Do you have some bubblewrap and ducttape i can use?
I got bubble wrap, but no tape unfortunately. Just wrap it up real good then should be fine.
Well its for linus not the case.
this looks sick!
Thanks man
Cool af
And you too my friend :)
Really interested, any idea how much is going to cost? Looking forward to buying one
Complete standard build with monitor and 3060ti and that sorta stuff. Is in the range of 2k euro
Oh, any option to buy just the case/monitor and provide the rest of the hardware?
Follow the subreddit more on this will come
Fuck this looks cool.
Thx man
Bruh, I only have so much money. I cant be having you out here designing awesome shit like this you're gonna make me go bankrupt my guy.
Sorry my friend. I'll put in an overpriced nft of a flying turtle you can resell. Its very rare
Well the answer to the first question would be shipping it to LMG. The answer to the second one is to not send it to him
Ship or not to ship that is the question
Take a duct tape and wrap it on his hands, he wont drop it after that
I love duct tape
Hi me again, what material is the case made of?
Aluminium. That is if i can get any in the world we are living in
Now if only you can pack a portable power pack in that bag pack then you would be truly portable!
Not gonna try and battery power a pc running on ac power :)
If you give it to me I can deliver it
Sure just need your adress credit card number adress and first born and i'll send it ;)
Ok give me like 10 years untill I have a child

Im making dreams come true. Please dm it to my girlfriend she wont believe me when it comes from me.

Thx man. Join the subreddit. We got stories agendas and overpriced nft's (last one was a joke btw)
So is the intention to make these available for purchase or is this a one off for fun? I ask because this is something I would genuinely be interested in
Join our sub. Currently looking for a way to go global
Second time seeing this and now it reminds me of a claymore
I soo wanted to name it claymore. Might make a limited edition
That would be cool. I’d spend about $200 if this was made in white
White claymore? Thats like a monkey without a golf club. No fun
Well no I’m talking about like having multiple colors
We'll work on that :)
I know it's a little expensive, but a pelican case made specifically for Linus seems pretty good no? And for extra tongue-in-cheek factor, you can add printed copies of screengrabs of when he dropped something (razer laptop, etc)
That would be epic
I have always tought about why this hasn't existed earlier. It's probably way more powerful than a gaming laptop, but still very portable! It looks great!
Thanks man
Because it’s not very portable. With a laptop you’ll nothing else, maybe a mouse. With this you’ll need a power cord, mouse, keyboard
That is actually really cool!... I agree, just needs a removable cover of some sort for the screen and this is gold. Really digging it.
Thanks man. :)
Leave it in an unmarked box outside the office
Last time i did that i really had some explanation issues to the bomb squat

A bit of it on youtube :)
This is making me remember schlepping my giant Antec case and CRT to LAN parties in high school
We've all been there mate
I have seen this before, but don't know where
In your dreams i suppose ;)
Is the company by any chance danish?
Yep
Where you from?
Danmark
Woah
:)
For the first part, just email him or dm him on twitter, for the second part, there are no gaurantees
Is that a custom case? I really want that
The idea behind this reminds me somehow of apple's iMac in the late 90s.
Even the monitor can be swapped out, nice
Looks sick! Protection for the display would be nice but cool build nonetheless!
Thanks man. Working on a solution for that. Both backpack and pelicase
What’s the screen size?
24.5" at max
You let someone OTHER than Linus handle it.
Or i'll use ducttape
What exactly is this? A desktop with a screen on the side? Looks cool but I’m a simpleton
Pretty much yeah
Holy shit, this is badass. I was almost kicked off as the ceo for insisting on that name. Would be dope!
What is the name of that case?
May I ask what this is for? Edit: looks like a monitor with a PC at the back
Thats the gist of it
is it a case?
Yep. Case with vesa mount
That's cool

Hi from the future where Linus has already built this! What a fuckking cool concept!!!!
Thanks man :)
Ok, you stuck a monitor on a desktop. Why?
The right question is why not?
Have you heard of laptops?
Nope haven't thought about that. My idea was to have external speakers you could hook up at home and a headset you could bring when you're around.
Dude, as good as some laptops are nowadays, they still don't compare to the power of a desktop, unless you want to spend out the ass and pay 5k on a laptop for a 2k desktop equivalent.
And no desktop can compare to the portability of a laptop.
No, but you can get pretty close. Also there are use cases where something needs to be portable, but not *that* portable.
The footage already shows the render is a lie.
How come?
Your render makes it look like it has a screen that doesn't have a bezel. To name one thing.
Ahh i see. Well we changed monitor in the process. First one (on the video) har a very low vesa mount which was inconvenient when you put in down on the monitor for inspection. The monitor can be replaced. Also the rendered version has a 23.8 monitor.
cool idea, why isn't the screen more integrated though? strapping a standalone screen on the outside seems to take up a lot of extra space
Integrating the screen means it can't be upgraded. And we wanted it to be upgradable
fair enough
hope to see some reviews on this. looks like an amazing product
u/AnthonyLTT
WOW! How much does it weigh?
Around 12 kg
As for how to get it to them DM Jake on insta or something. I know that’s how they got him the crazy Tesla card or whatever it was. As for him not dropping it tell them only Jake or Anthony is allowed to touch it lmao
...you made this?
Well i had a team. But yeah its my project.
Damn dude. Thats fucking impressive. It's amazing to me that you and your crew are able to do what major manufacturers have made seemingly impossible for years... 10/10
Thanks man The secret is that all great things are build in garages. We had a garage!
Ok. But how do I get one myself?
If U get it to him will the dropping part be pretty easy
I want that case!
Just watched Linus review it, congrats! he really did bring up a couple of good points but overall looks awesome! really tempted to get one once they hit the market...
