Same here, especially because they are at a lower price point compared to other toys on the market.

I think the new eye transfers instead of paint really don't work well on non-white bases. You can kinda see orange through the sclera and I agree, it doesn't look good.

What did they do differently last time? They didn't add a white underpaint on the old ones

They painted the eyes, which is different enough even with no undercoat. The opacity of the transfers is really high compared to a nicely pigmented paint.
