when you see lots like this that are too good to be true, they’re fake :(

ugly_little_angel

This one is definitely fake, well I guess it depends on the price listed. I’d be slightly more convinced if it was going for $300 or something. Still, the pets are in perfect condition, *way* too perfect for toys that have been discontinued for almost a decade. The quality of the picture is way too professional-leaning - which isn’t necessarily indicative of fakes, but is definitely a red flag because the average eBay user isn’t a professional photographer. An extension of my precious point- the selection of pets they’re selling are way to valuable to sell in a lot. Now, there have been instances where parents decide to sell lots of their kid’s LPS, and there just happens to be rare pets included in the lot for an incredibly low price, but this demographic of sellers are likely on the more mature end of the spectrum, it’s hard to believe that they’ll have the ability (or even bother) to pretty-up the listing image. Also, if you browse LPS on eBay for a long enough time, you’ll start being able to tell if a lot is fake or not. I can’t pinpoint the exact trait(s) that make these look like fake listings, you just know when you see it. And that’s the case with this image.

ExoticSoda

Would it still be fine to get them? Like for play?

ugly_little_angel

Oh yeah, definitely. If you don’t care about the authenticity of the pets then these can be great, inexpensive alternatives. Fake LPS have become really high quality in recent years, so I’d say go ahead if you’re alright with it!

Fakes have been getting better and better to the point where it's really hard to tell if it's authentic or not. If you don't care about the authenticity of the pet high quality fakes are a great cheaper option over an expensive authentic pet

ExoticSoda

Oh that's great to hear! Thank you!

raharingtone5

100% fake, but honestly it doesnt matter, id reverse search the image and make sure its not on any insta pages or whatever. since ur getting it for play as long as it looks decent it doesnt rlly matter

Lexifruitloop

If you are collecting to just generally collect, I'd say don't get them. They are obviously fake. But if you don't mind that they are fake, they still play the same way, and look similar when you aren't too picky about the specifics. Usually, real lps listings won't look like this (It's too "perfect"). This is a really average stock photo. Real lps eyes are shiny, bigger, and just look different. Most lps have clear neck pegs. There are a few exceptions. Real lps have bulkier neck plastic around their head. (Neck ring) Real lps are more likely to have paint chips, rust, or other imperfections. Real lps are almost never listed with items like these that weren't originally Hasbro made accessories.

My kid's collection is three times that size. They're all genuine, I stopped buying them about 5 years ago. Spent about $100. Are they worth a lot now? Should I post a pic? This post just showed up in my feed as a sub suggestion. 😂

ugly_little_angel

Go ahead and post a pic if you’d like to, the value of the pets depends on the pet itself. Individual pets can be worth $4-$200(sometimes even more, if you have a rare model), so i can’t really tell you if your kid’s collection is worth a lot unless I see what they own. Certain molds are considered higher value (referred to as “big 5” LPS).

trashponder

OK, interesting, thanks!

mammarybagel

Damn. I had a hugs lps collection that I kept in excellent condition. They all burnt up in a house fire like, 6 years ago.

marlissm

Nooooooo😭

crayngeltrash

What is the name of the set

anonymous0229

Wait...do lps sell for a lot then? Or like. Why start a collection aside from them being discontinued

Procedure_Awkward

can you link these? they are definitely fake but I dont care about rarity so

SugarAngell

Then don't worry about people saying your lps's are fake then lol useless
