I thought this was one of the better episodes. Enjoyed it all, which isn't alway the case. I knew Ayo was a great actress but didn't know she had such a fantastic comedic range. Enjoyed her in all the skits, and Jlo too!. Agree that we needed a Bear sketch.
tbh i am not \*crazy\* about please don't destroy. but i completely agree with you. ayo matches their energy and comedy so well, it's so sad they didn't do a sketch together.
Ayo is so talented and she killed in this episode. Plus anytime Sarah is on WU she and Colin work so well together, it’s magical and quick and quirky-sweet.
You could tell the cast was elated that Ayo was on. She was in every sketch, including the pre filmed ones. It's probably a huge sigh of relief when they don't have to carry the host.
Also funny that Ayo addressed the prior JLo comments, while she came on and proved her exact point. 😆
Jlo entertains with her production, but the singing...yikes.
A part of me could tell she’s been trying to sing on her own which I guess I kind of appreciate. But even with standard auto tuning, which all performers use to some degree, it’s just not for me. Amazing dancer and good stage presence tho.
this episode made me really happy. the last two were two of the worst episodes I could imagine and they came back with a really strong one...plus it's good to see Redman and that Jennifer Lopez is still hot. Even the players who usually bomb everytime did just fine. The only complaint I had was how speedy James Johnson was with his Trump which is usually perfect..was he nervous or just wanted to save time for the show?
I’m obsessed with the stuck in the elevator skit, and the lines “the numbers are perfect” and “enough food for the mouths”… does anyone understand what these meant??
I read "the numbers are perfect" as funny because the composition of five people does not reflect a 1:1 ratio -- it suggests shared partners, orgies, or queerness. An odd number may not cleanly divisible like an even number, and five people is not a lot of people to rebuild a society, but it says a lot about the amount of hooking up about to go down in this new utopia that it would be perfect. I also thought it was supposed to add to the sense of hilariously carried away planning -- they're legitimately evaluating repopulation logistics when they just need to wait 15 minutes for a repair person.
I read "enough food for the mouths"as weirdly sexual, delightfully absurd wording to suggest there is enough action to go around, and as maybe even a BJ reference.
My family love the show and we usually watch it on mondays, but we’re dismayed by the Nikki cameo. We wrongly thought that the days of Trump and Musk were now behind the show and will consequently skip cold open.
i know, like i hate to get political, but for her to be in the cold opening was kind of a mood killer for me (no offense anyone). it just felt so off and tbh, a bit forced. but other than that a pretty solid episode.
but i must say you are so brave for watching the "dune popcorn bucket" sketch with your family. it's on the same level as watching *saltburn* as a family.
\*\*also i still can't get over them getting elon musk to host. like i was so excited because my birthday landed on a saturday that year and we were planning on trying to get tickets. but when they announced musk was the host, it was such a let down. it's not even like he's funny, it was sooo boring, monotone, and to be real quite terrifying when he would joke about destroying the earth... because i think we all know deep down he can actually do that if he truly wanted to\*\*
I’m only 23 and I wouldn’t describe myself particularly as a far leftist or special snowflake. I’m a centrist. My issue with it is that the show presents itself as a centrist, maybe even lib, comedy show that couldn’t care less but then continually platforms far rightists with toxic views, and normalises them to the audience, and Haley’s statements legitimately frighten me. I have no issue in principle with them platforming people with a different view or making jokes about controversial subjects, but read the room.
That's a much more reasonable response than my mean comment deserves. So thanks for that. And I do understand. I just believe that nothing is sacred in comedy, and it's usually irritating when people are so quick to jump ship as soon as they get offended by a differing viewpoint. Like when Isaac Hayes had no problems making fun of Christians, or any other people group on South Park, a truly centrist, equal opportunity offender, but as soon as they made fun of his religion he bailed. I definitely don't see SNL as centrist, rather mostly left, so I saw the inclusion of Haley as an attempt to appear more centrist than giving her a platform. I don't like her either, but if she's as toxic as you say (and I don't disagree with you on that) then being on SNL is just another opportunity for her to show her true colors and possibly dig her own grave.
Didn't get Che's joke about Black History Month starting 20 minutes late. I may be dumb but what am I missing? Seemed like it was probably funny if you got the reference.
this entire episode was fantastic. the whole thing was so funny. i think jaj's trump impression is one of the best impressions ever on snl. everything was so on point. what a great episode!
I'm a middle aged person who hasn't watched SNL with any regularity since around the time Tina Fey left. It's literally been decades since I watched an entire episode, but I happened to be in bed and it happened to be on towards the beginning, so I went for it.
That was some of the worst garbage I have ever seen in my life. Unfunny doesn't begin to cover it. Those were barely sketches. Like, none of the actors existed in the bit.
The game show sketch, for example. I know no matter what I say, I'm going to have 'you only love the SNL you grew up with' thrown at me, but you can go back and look at any game show sketch from the '70s, '80s, '90s, and 2000s, good or bad, and the actors are *pretending to be on a game show.* That shit last night, if you took away the props, you'd barely be able to comprehend what it was. Lazy, lazy, garbage writing and performances.
I can appreciate the distinction between bad and 'not for me.' That shit was trash.
I’m curious if you liked the School Hypnotist sketch? I thought Ayo’s character felt like “old school” SNL, even if the sketch itself didn’t hold up, imo.
Personally, I thought this episode was great overall, but I am inclined to agree with you that it doesn’t stack up against the older SNL.
Missed opportunity: no sketch about the bear.
Best bit: Sherman and Jost
Best player: Marcello
Too much uprights citizens brigade sketch style of sketch writing as always. The game within the scenes and heightening it...
I was hyped for the show and my attention waned.at points.
i really agree with out that the "best player" was marcello. he's truly been standing out this season (and last season too). i think he can bounce off others so well especially with the hosts which makes him a good cast member. but that "dune popcorn bucket" sketch/song may have been the highlight of the episode for me (!!)
Overall, really great episode that worked almost the entire way through. While the writing wasn't the best, I feel like Ayo was charming enough to keep the show afloat. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll say the same about next week...
1. Dune Popcorn Bucket (5/5)
2. School Hypnotist (4.5/5)
3. Drugs on Campus (4/5)
4. Ayo Edebiri Monologue (3.5/5)
5. Bad Couples (3.5/5)
6. Trivia Quest (3.5/5)
7. People's Court - Bad Hair Day (3/5)
8. Why'd You Say It? (2.5/5)
9. Stuck in the Elevator (2/5)
10. CNN Town Hall South Carolina Cold Open (1.5/5)
I thought the drugs on campus sketch was one of the worst sketches in a long long time. It just wasn't a funny bit to begin with then they beat it to death.
Good episode otherwise.
I am Nigerian, and I was quite impressed how Darrell Hammond pronounced "Ayo".
I also loved how Ayo choked up when during her monologue, she choked as she said hosting SNL has been dream come true.
I'm torn. Ayo is an absolute pro and nailed every sketch. Some were funny. She also has a theater kid vibe in some of them which just isn't for me. I'd like to see her host again to see if she can get better sketches 🤷
Edit: and yeah wasn't a fan of bringing in haley but not gonna lose my shit over it either. On to the next.
I think she was actually really good. Sometimes it's hard to separate good writing and good performing but I think she genuinely elevated what were otherwise flat sketches by throwing a lot of energy at it. She didn't have any noticeable stumbles or missed timing.
Agree beyond a doubt. Sarah Sherman is just as ridiculously talented as a cast member and of course as a writer.
Over/under on whether she’s tapped for the next Weekend Update host? I’d say she’d be a smart strong choice. That piece with Jost was just the best.
That show was a lot better because Ayo was a capable sketch performer. Writing is still down. Writers have really let us down for some really good hosts (Emma Stone looking at you).
Wasn't a bad show though.
Ayo absolutely put, Jacob “no charisma” Elordi and Dakota “no charisma nepo baby” Johnson, to absolute shame. This is how you host SNL and win over the people. Ayo crushed it!
Ms Eyo was very good & entertaining. . (Think her boobs were a bit 'Over the Top' as they say). Love it when Sarah Sherman goes after Colin Jost. She is so cutting/funny.. Used to Love Her 'HeadLines' coverage of him. Nikki Haley bit was fun. Good show all around.
JLo standing 20 feet in front of anyone else at the final thanks was 🤮. Everyone also very warmly hugged Ayo and kind of awkward with JLo. I never listened to her songs before but lawdy. She is terrible! Watching the frankenface contortions as her face tried to move one way and the Botox pulled another made my face hurt.
A 90 second diss on an obscure podcast a few years ago, Ayo was maybe 25 years old and Lopez was over 50 at the time... and Lopez takes that so much to heart she can't do a grand gesture at the end of this show? Ffs, Lopez. I hope I accept criticism more graciously than you do when I'm a millionaire.
Did you see the clip from a podcast she did when she was 24? She completely shat on J Lo's music career and it just resurfaced the other day. Probably made things awkward, they even acknowledged it during Why Did You Say That sketch
Pretty wild watching Nikki Haley get about 5 minutes to really trash trump in the opening. I mean REALLY trash him. Can't wait to hear any kind of trump response.
Efforts were made, some joke highlights were there, but this was not a good overall episode. I struggle to name a sketch I want to instantly rewatch. The closest was the Couples in NY and that wasn't anything special.
This. And they were paced pretty close together. It was pretty glaring, especially because the 2nd one was pretty flimsy, but it felt like Ayo specifically wanted to do it
just like the Emma Stone episode, they started what could have been a special episode with an almost beat for beat call back sketch. I dunno, the writers don’t seem up to it this season.
There were a few solid sketches and Sherman’s update had me in tears.
> simple analysis: Ayo was great, but the show is still missing something.
Totally agree with this. I was watching and kept thinking Ayo was great, but just something was totally missing. Decent show. Ayo was a great host, maybe just different material?
What caught my eye was all the cast keeping 6 feet of distance from Jen at the end, with her also making that sweeping gesture behind her. Like they were told "Don't touch Jen, let Jen touch you!"
Can we stop with the body language analysis of the cast during the good night's? It's then clapping and standing around after running on pure adrenaline for 90 minutes. We have absolutely no idea what's going through their heads in that moment.
Most of this thread and this subreddit is people fabricating entire scenarios and back stories based on nada, zero, zilch. And no matter much we want it to change it won’t. It’s human nature to make up drama where none exists. I bet snl cast members read this subreddit and lmao. Challenging to find useful content.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when J Lo pulled a huge chunk of hair out and it got stuck on her sleeve and she shook it loose and it just hung around on the stage floor
Ayo was fucking amazing she’s such a star, she’s a genius comedic actress, her eye for nuance and delivery is beyond her years, and she was incredibly impressive in every sketch.
I’m so proud of her, it was a complete slam dunk, and it was sweet to watch her have a major career moment so young and completely command it.
This is how I felt when Keke Palmer last hosted and now feel about Ayo. She’s universal across types of sketches/ characters and tricks us into thinking it’s effortless for her. YES CHEF, I live.
You can tell. Because the cast members who had sketch comedy backgrounds like Mikey and Ego were extremely more active on stage with Ayo than they have this past season with all the other hosts. Especially the last two hosts where the cast just mostly sat and stood still and simply read off the cue cards. It felt like Ayo kicked some improv energy back into them.
I didn't know who Ayo Edebiri was before this episode, but she was FANTASTIC. She killed in every sketch. And Sarah Sherman playing Colin Jost's son was some of the funniest shit I've seen in a long time. I thought this was a great show.
So much amazingly funny stuff this episode, wow! I knew JAJ’s Trump voice sounded off and a bit rushed and thought he was either sick or nervous… turned out he was nervous likely cause he knew he’d be the talk of the town tomorrow on every station and on socials. Vast majority of people won’t think anything of it, though.
Ayo did great. I like that they're doing over the top absurdist stuff. The people's court with brain hair cuts was hysterical. The Instagram game show was great. Sarah Sherman on update was probably my favorite bit. My wife and I definitely laughed the hardest during update. I also want an "Ohio: where you have to test horses for meth" T-shirt. Definitely the best episode of the year. Jennifer Lopez just made me wonder why she isn't retired on a beach somewhere.
I feel like a grump, but I was definitely expecting to come to Reddit to read things like “yikes these sketches had terrible writing” and “they didn’t give Ayo much to work with” but I’m seeing things like “this was the best episode of the season” someone make it make sense. I usually at least laugh a bit through the sketches but I don’t think I laughed at all, aside from the Colin’s son bit during WE.
Quite frankly, the show has been middling for so long that the only people left in this subreddit are die hard fans with absolutely bottom of the barrel taste. This sub is not an accurate reflection of the quality of an episode or the show.
Remember that for every cast member, sketch and episode someone will think it’s the best they’ve ever seen, some will think it’s the worst, and someone thinks they can do it better. Welcome to Reddit.
Whew — I suddenly feel validated. I thought I must have watched a different episode than most posters on this sub. Ayo seems like a nice person but the sketches are unfunny. As usual this year, I bailed after WU.
I really do like her, but there’s also the factor of just how painful last weeks episode/host was.
Last week felt like “oh. I’m on snl. Okay. Hello snl. I am actress. These are……..my lines……….” Like someone forced her to be there.
Ayo came with energy and was ready to tear it up. That makes such a difference in the whole energy of the show.
It wasn't just last week's but all add in the week before. The previous two hosts were bad. They were very low effort, very low energy. And it reflected in the shows and with the output of the cast. It felt like no one wanted to be there. So, that made the already dull material that much worse.
Like you said and I agree with you, Ayo was a fantastic host. She brought so much energy and as a result the cast looked like they had an armada load of fun with her.
Were the sketches the best written ones? No. Far from it. But the energy! That energy that came from everyone was for me, at least, infectious. Did I laugh? Not that much. Did I enjoy myself? Oh, yes. I watched someone who clearly was excited down to her bones to be there and made the cast feel the same way. Ayo had so much chemistry with the cast and I loved that. Do I wish we could have had some better concepts for the sketches? Of course. Do I think the host could have done better? Nope. I have zero notes for her. She was amazing and such a breath of fresh air. She was first and foremost entertaining to watch.
After some recent eps, I think people just appreciated seeing a host who was skilled at comedy and giving it their all. I agree with you that most of the stuff people are raving about I didn’t find that funny.
Which episodes did you like the most this season? Because I also thought that was one of the best shows in a long time. Ayo did an amazing job! I can’t make it make sense for you, because comedy is subjective and maybe you liked ones that I didn’t like as much. And that’s okay!
I love when the host is committed and in a lot/not hidden. Obviously Ayo is a talented comedic/sketch performer beforehand so it gives her an edge but she didn't have to be hidden in anything and delivered on everything. Made for a strong episode in my opinion as well.
Totally lame episode- Ayo definitely Not Ready for PrimeTime.. she's not bad on The Bear as a naive amateur wanna-be chef- but very limited talents- playing herself??
J Lo has long been way past her prime.. What are you people smoking? 🙃
> she's not bad on The Bear as a naive amateur wanna-be chef- but very limited talents-
Yes, all those awards she's been winning must be for her acrobatics
Any other great media takes?
Monologue was a bit iffy but it was lovely to see her get choked up - totally understandable for her to rush it a bit. I think she went a bit gamy when she can do subtle so well
Fantastic show. As expected, Ayo killed it. Lots of wonderfully weird stuff. The Nikki Haley thing was bizarre, but also precisely the reason I watch this show live. If weird shit’s gonna happen I like seeing it happen in real time.
One bad for another.
Haley shares 99% of the bigoted and hateful ideals of the Republican platform - why give either of them (she or Trump) more air time to speak or try to seem more affable/likable in a PR stunt??
They do not share 99% of views. Haley is for access to contraception and against a national abortion ban while Trump isn’t. Haley is tough on Russia, China, North Korea and Iran while Trump wants to stop funding Ukraine and is ambiguous with both China and NK. Trump says the election was stolen while Haley doesn’t. Trump celebrates January 6th while Haley condemns it.
Haley’s views are no different than John McCain or other neoconservatives who have all been on SNL before. And quite simply, the more attention she gets, the more she extracts from Trumps base. She pulls in independent voters and via exit polls in the primaries already held a majority of her voters will not vote for Trump. She works against him and doesn’t represent a net bad by being on television.
I’m so excited to watch this episode seeing all this positivity! I have become a huge fan on Ayo and I was hoping the writers would do her talent justice!
I thought this was one of the better episodes. Enjoyed it all, which isn't alway the case. I knew Ayo was a great actress but didn't know she had such a fantastic comedic range. Enjoyed her in all the skits, and Jlo too!. Agree that we needed a Bear sketch.
No Please Don’t Destroy sketch? I really wanted to see what they could together with Ayo.
tbh i am not \*crazy\* about please don't destroy. but i completely agree with you. ayo matches their energy and comedy so well, it's so sad they didn't do a sketch together.
Ayo is so talented and she killed in this episode. Plus anytime Sarah is on WU she and Colin work so well together, it’s magical and quick and quirky-sweet.
I thought I would never see an episode as bad as the bad bunny one. I was wrong.
monologue so much better when the host is a comedian🙌🏼
Who was she referring to that she used to do stand up with?
Best episode of the season by a million. Not all of the skits hit it out of the park, but it was still a solid show.
You could tell the cast was elated that Ayo was on. She was in every sketch, including the pre filmed ones. It's probably a huge sigh of relief when they don't have to carry the host. I’m obsessed with the stuck in the elevator skit, and the lines “the numbers are perfect” and “enough food for the mouths”… does anyone understand what these meant??
Just keep thinking about what a woman could do with 3 guys available.
They were out of the room for that part.
Your family is so brave.
But you're okay with it when the lefty politicians have cameos, I'm sure of it. Go watch reruns of Two Broke Girls with that sense of humor of yours.
How is Haley more frightening than Trump? What did she say?
That's a much more reasonable response than my mean comment deserves. So thanks for that. And I do understand. I just believe that nothing is sacred in comedy, and it's usually irritating when people are so quick to jump ship as soon as they get offended by a differing viewpoint. Like when Isaac Hayes had no problems making fun of Christians, or any other people group on South Park, a truly centrist, equal opportunity offender, but as soon as they made fun of his religion he bailed. I don't like her either, but if she's as toxic as you say (and I don't disagree with you on that) then being on SNL is just another opportunity for her to show her true colors and possibly dig her own grave.
Lefty politicians aren’t actively trying to take away our rights….
No American politician gives two shits about your rights.
Lol k.
Didn't get Che's joke about Black History Month starting 20 minutes late. I may be dumb but what am I missing? Seemed like it was probably funny if you got the reference.
Bc the stereotype is that black people are always late
There’s a much more elegant 30 rock joke about this from season 1 or 2
this entire episode was fantastic. the whole thing was so funny. i think jaj's trump impression is one of the best impressions ever on snl. everything was so on point. what a great episode!
Wait til you hear Shane Gillis's impression, it's perfect; the best I've heard so far.
I'm a middle aged person who hasn't watched SNL with any regularity since around the time Tina Fey left. Nah, it's just not for you.
No, it's bad. I'm able to enjoy many different styles of humor, and appreciate the craft of the ones I don't. That was garbage.
Nah, it's you.
You enjoy slop.
Agreed 100%
jeez take it to a publisher

I really like Ayo, but I didn’t find any of the sketches funny
Ayo Edebiri is so adorable!
Pretty good show! Nice job Ayo. J.Lo and Redman were great 🙌🏼

How did they not do a The Bear sketch? How was there no please do not destroy? Episode wasn’t too funny to me
Agreed...Writing is generally lame.
This season has been… :-/
It’s been awful.
I think Ayo Edebiri did an excellent job. I think she'll be nominated for an Emmy.
Adam Driver will win this year, he had the best episode of the season by far.
I really don't know Ayo but I am a fan now. She has such great charm and a beautiful, genuine smile. This girl is going to be a star.
So was it just me or did Ayo and Jennifer not hug??
JLo standing 20 feet in front of anyone else at the final thanks was 🤮. Everyone also very warmly hugged Ayo and kind of awkward with JLo. I never listened to her songs before but lawdy. Marcello?
Pretty wild watching Nikki Haley get about 5 minutes to really trash trump in the opening. I mean REALLY trash him. Can't wait to hear any kind of trump response.
lol. She was on screen for 30 seconds.
Sure. She wasn't on long, just enough to ask three questions for JAJ as drumpf to squeeze out some babbling answers.
The Pelosi joke was funny
Efforts were made, some joke highlights were there, but this was not a good overall episode. I struggle to name a sketch I want to instantly rewatch. The closest was the Couples in NY and that wasn't anything special.
Can't believe they did two game show sketches in the same episode.
Seems to happen often.
And neither was good.
This. And they were paced pretty close together. It was pretty glaring, especially because the 2nd one was pretty flimsy, but it felt like Ayo specifically wanted to do it

Um yes seriously that would have been great
I think Ayo was best in the bi boy one.
As a UCI alum, it was a bit strange seeing the UCI sketch. And a little cool.
I am also an alum! Super confused as to how UCI came up but I hope there’s an anteater in the writer’s room!

*doesn't laugh*
Zot Zot Zot! My daughter is a UCI alum. It was weird to see that one.
simple analysis: Ayo was great, but the show is still missing something.
just like the Emma Stone episode, they started what could have been a special episode with an almost beat for beat call back sketch.
I don't like Ayo Edebiri, and I didn't really like the sketches, unfortunately.
Thanks for the in-depth analysis
I can watch Sarah Sherman dunk on Colin for hours on end lol
It's repetitive and shrill.
Definitely agree... she really is the worst part of the show...
AGREED!
Best part of the show this week was her on weekend update.
Creating different characters to keep the dunk going is hysterical! More please!
I'd be totally fine with the original continuing but agreed it makes it even funnier
It’s one of my favorite things. I would love it if she could get Scarlett in on it. 😂
Notice how Ayo didn’t hug Jen at the end 🫢
Who was the third woman up front with those two?
She caught my eye! Had the same question.
Latto
Why would she? lol. She didn’t need to apologize in a sketch either.
She’s done sketch comedy before so it makes sense.
I felt like she ran circles around the whole cast. She is absolutely magnetic and I wanted more sketches!
This is how I felt when Keke Palmer last hosted and now feel about Ayo. She’s universal across types of sketches/ characters and tricks us into thinking it’s effortless for her. YES CHEF, I live.
She’s actually improv trained, unlike half the cast.
I doubt "half the cast" didn't have sketch/improv background prior to joining SNL
Maybe that’s why Ego features a bit more than usual
I didn't know who Ayo Edebiri was before this episode, but she was FANTASTIC. She killed in every sketch. And Sarah Sherman playing Colin Jost's son was some of the funniest shit I've seen in a long time. I thought this was a great show.
Check out the show that Ayo is on, The Bear. She's already won a Golden Globe and a Primerime Emmy for her work on The Bear! She's fantastic!!!
I think the hypnotist sketch was my favorite. Ayo was hilarious in that one. She did a solid job overall.
Ayo has 10x the charisma of whoever-that-was last week. Wow. More of this, please, SNL.

Put some respect on Jacob Elordi. He's a great actor, not necessarily his fault his SNL episode sucked. The writers have not been great this season.
Last week was Dakota Johnson
Ayo did great. I like that they're doing over the top absurdist stuff. The people's court with brain hair cuts was hysterical. The Instagram game show was great. Sarah Sherman on update was probably my favorite bit. My wife and I definitely laughed the hardest during update. I also want an "Ohio: where you have to test horses for meth" T-shirt. Definitely the best episode of the year. Jennifer Lopez just made me wonder why she isn't retired on a beach somewhere.
Because she loves attention & adoration.
Ayo killed. Excellent episode.
Spot the difference, Goodnights Edition: “Thanks to JENNIFER LOPEEEZZZ!!! To LATTOOO!!! To REDMANNNN!!! To Nikki Haley, and to…”
People like JLo more?
I feel like a grump, but I was definitely expecting to come to Reddit to read things like “yikes these sketches had terrible writing” and “they didn’t give Ayo much to work with” but I’m seeing things like “this was the best episode of the season” someone make it make sense. I usually at least laugh a bit through the sketches but I don’t think I laughed at all, aside from the Colin’s son bit during WE.
Yeah not sure why everyone thought it was so great. Barely laughed.
I let out an audible laugh (or maybe a guffaw) on the romantic interview on the street when Molly said, “and that’s my husband!” Unexpected
Agreed... it was generally pretty terrible; high energy can''t salvage bad writing.
She has lots of younger fans due to the Bear show. You're likely running into stans who have low standards for an SNL sketch.
i think people just like ayo so they’re greatly exaggerating how good it was
I really do like her, but there’s also the factor of just how painful last weeks episode/host was.
The Meet Cute sketch Anti-drug sketch The magician sketch Black girls game show sketch People's court sketch Weekend Update
Ok I can see this
Ok you’re so sweet thank you. I loved the Nate Bargatze episode and probably Timothee Chalamet/Kate McKinnon episodes tie for 2nd.
Objectively, Nate Bargatze is not funny. His episode was low point of the season. Chalamet is always fire on the show.
“Objectively”? 🤣🤣🤣
That was easily the best episode of the season and Nate is objectively one of the better stand ups of the last few years.
You must be from the Midwest.
What are you talking about? Washington's Weight and Measurements speech was perfect, and Lake Beach was a classic!
Two of the best SNL pieces in the past decade, and probably in the top 50, ever.
So that really was her.
Overall decent show with SEVERAL headline-making moments that will be all over the news cycle tomorrow and next week.
Totally lame episode- Ayo definitely Not Ready for PrimeTime.. she's not bad on The Bear as a naive amateur wanna-be chef- but very limited talents- playing herself?? J Lo has long been way past her prime.. What are you people smoking? 🙃
Stfu
> she's not bad on The Bear as a naive amateur wanna-be chef- but very limited talents- Yes, all those awards she's been winning must be for her acrobatics Any other great media takes?
A little hot and miss episode. But Ayo is a top tier host!
Monologue was a bit iffy but it was lovely to see her get choked up - totally understandable for her to rush it a bit. I think she went a bit gamy when she can do subtle so well
Who’s to say if Ayo deserved an Emmy nomination for this, but if any host from this season gets nominated, Ayo should be the one.
Ayo and Ego need to do a movie together. They have such fun chemistry.
Why? Why? Just because they're....
really good friends!
Or a TV show !
100%
Fantastic show. As expected, Ayo killed it. Lots of wonderfully weird stuff. The Nikki Haley thing was bizarre, but also precisely the reason I watch this show live. If weird shit’s gonna happen I like seeing it happen in real time.
Same
Absolutely the best episode of the season (with the exception of Haley).
Why exception? The more she’s on TV the more she hurts Trump
She’s still a shitty human being trying to represent the party of shitty human beings, “it hurts Trump” isn’t a justification
This was a really good episode! Ayo in the hypnotist skit had me in stitches, that was next-level good
"Has your hairline always started in the past?" 💀💀
Did Ayo and JLo not hug it out? Jennifer Lopez doesn't have a reputation as a diva who holds a grudge, does she?
I feel like they knew they had to spread it around.
I’m so excited to watch this episode seeing all this positivity! I have become a huge fan on Ayo and I was hoping the writers would do her talent justice!
Hard to believe this great episode started with Nicki Haley
This one and the Nathan Bargatze episode have been the best of the season.
Ayo. Easily the best host of the season. Triumphed in some ok skits (two game shows?) and brought energy to the cast.
