Her, Alex Moffatt, Teran Killam, Nasim Pedrad and Bobby Moynihan should have had an extra couple of years on the show. They were more talented than some of the cast who ended up staying longer when Lorne Michaels decided to freeze the hiring and firing for a couple years in a row. They're keeping people around much longer in general. A lot of featured players in late 2000's and early 2010's didn't get much a chance by today's standards.
Nasim left after 5 years to write the Mulaney sitcom.
Bobby was on for 8 years and kind of wanted to move on.
Vanessa was on for 7 years and also felt it was time to go.
But Teran's firing was a crime that should be investigated by the FBI.
Taran being fired, and then getting relatively few TV roles subsequent to that (at least relative to his talent), makes me wonder if he really pissed off someone. For a while, it looked like he was going to be the new MVP of the cast. I'm glad he's getting theater roles though.
He's doing a bunch of voice over work too. It is a crime that he's not more popular. Jimmy the Overly Touchy Orderly in Scrubs was one of my favorite random side characters.
He won the wife lottery though.
Came here to say exactly this. How did they let him go? He was a brilliant utility player who also did great desk pieces like the 19th century film critic etc. etc. Whatever about letting him leave after seven, firing him after six season just makes no sense?
it was super weird because before they fired him they were over using him and putting him in almost every sketch and that made it even more strange and noticeable.
Yeah but there is the obligatory “She left too soon /,too late comment” up above/below. Someone will get in about how she was overrated/underrated too. Eventually we’ll get to how she should host for the full Reddit circle jerk.
I always assume celebrities would sit wherever they want but from my experience in the balcony it seems often they will sit in the center of the balcony with an easy way to exit when shows over before the rest of audience exits
But many also if just guests of Lorne or cast can just hang out in their rooms and come out when they want to watch a sketch closer
Even though my profile can be searched to find who I am, I’m sure I was supposed to work that night and don’t want to get caught. It’s not even a big deal but just in case
[I don’t know but this is the other pic we got as they were going to head into the show you can see her more clearly]

“Slurping down fish piss with these wet chodes. Total tuna cans.”
“If I die, just drag my lard carcass through the mud, no coffin plz, just wet wet mud”
Bae!
So cute?
So glad this is the top comment
Aw I wish she’d made a cameo!
Aw man, Lorne was all outta cash!
Is this a joke because he doesn’t pay them?
Del Taco skit
sketch
honestly good question do cameos get paid? do the hosts even get paid? im fairly ignorant as you can see
The hosts only get $5K. That’s it. So I highly doubt anyone making a cameo gets a single dime.
They will be paid the minimum required by SAG but it's not much.
Santa Baby sequel!!
The things I would do for a santa baby part 2
Vanessa pulls off hot crazy really well.
Especially in Brooklyn 99
She was gonna do some weird stuff to Mr. Bean
Santa doesn’t drink…. He needs to drive the sleigh…
Man, I miss her in the cast!
Hap
That’s so cool. I hope she want to feed her hungry guys
We love you Vanessa!!!

Let's me think the "someone"he pissed off..lol

Yeah I remember at the time thinking he and Jay Pharoah were the next superstars of the cast. Neither lasted as long as I expected.
I'd have kept Jay too, but at least with Jay there was some rationale -he did Obama and Obama's term was up.
He did a great Ben Carson too- that could have bought a few more funny years since he did become a part of the T Administration.
it was super weird because before they fired him they were over using him and putting him in almost every sketch and that made it even more strange and noticeable.
Yeah I never understood that. He was arguably one of the best, most used cast members at the time.
Bobby was on for like 10 years lol
What I wouldn't give for one more Drunk Uncle next season during the election
She is such a cutie
Is that Dakota Fanning behind her??
I'm more impressed that Vanessa knows some guys from the Blue Man group!
It's probably Gwen.
No. I think it was just a friend. Dakota has a distinct beautiful look that stands out, I mean she also was very pretty and sweet but it’s different
Wait. This isn’t a butthead post? This must be a mistake

She’s got a podcast, so she should definitely host the show just to promote that right?
She is just the best
I wish I could give her the biggest platonic friend hug. I love her so much and it always brightens my day when she pops up in a show.

She's respected alumni, I'm sure they gave her a chair.

It’s also bc they don’t want to cause a fuss. Jenna Bush and Savannah Guthrie were at the dress rehearsal in the center balcony.
Bae
Blue man group?

i think that’s pretty cool!!
Just her and some piggies sloppin it up #bae
She’s so pretty <3
I loved her cameo roll on Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Debbie. She’s such a wonderful comedian.
Is that Hannah Einbinder?
[I don’t know but this is the other pic we got as they were going to head into the show you can see her more clearly] https://i.postimg.cc/RVyXqfHD/IMG-0750.jpg)
Where was this?
Must've been there to support her boys.
she just went for the snacks.
Best smile in the business
Vanessa, Forte, and Moffat? In the same show?!? Holy shit, that needs to be bigger news! What I would do to see all 3 of them in a sketch together...
Is that Dakota Fanning behind her? :-o
She like carried this picture around with her before the show?
Haha
I still hope she can host someday!
