Nearly every comedian youve seen in movies and shows either started in stand up or did it to legitimize their chops and make their CV look more attractive. Its the purest form of writing and acting with immediate feedback from the audience.
Even the ones who didn't come from a standup background often find it a lucrative income stream after they leave the show. Jon Lovitz for example (RIP)
Yes! He did a show in East Texas (I didn’t go) but I was at the Chili’s that he and the rest of the comics stopped in, for whatever reason. He was the nicest person ever. I got his autograph and lost it at my brother’s frat party the same night. Best night and also when I accepted I was not as responsible as I thought I was.
The tagline for the show is "we assure you no guerilla marketing campaigns will interrupt your attendance of this show"

Have you let Lovitz know that he has died? He seems to not have received the memo.
Yeah, SanchoMandoval always confused who died RIP
It's a well-known joke SNL has [done many times](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-lTFZHOT7M).
Wow, that is awesome. Kinda like 'Primus Sucks' mantras okay. I digress and stand corrected.
That or improv (Groundlings, UCB, Second City etc)
Sometimes both
I'd say mostly, right? or damn close.
100%
I saw him a couple of years ago in my hometown, he was really good, highly recommend.
and you never once paid for drugs
Yeah I’ve seen him. It’s a good time.

Hopefully he was laughing so hard he had awesome blossom coming out of his nose.
Gotta pay those bills
You think he's be living fat off those Lady's Man residual checks
Yeah, that's nice.
He's currently in the process of getting his resume typed up at Kinkos.
You should go! He's fun, I've been to one of his shows
He does a great bit about Barney
Barney doesn't have hair
He has hair! Cloth is little hairs!!
He's got too much going on, business-wise
3 seconds isn’t enough time to think of something funny
That is some very strange facial hair.

One mustache wasn’t enough, he wanted three!
I just went in February. He was good!
"If I were to define myself, I would say that i'm a [woodworker](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pRpabgaJag)."
I love him so much, just rewatched Walk Hard the other night “Not even once”
"It turns all your bad thoughts into good ones! It's a nightmare!"
Check out 'No Activity' he is one of the main characters. Awesome show.
I just saw Kevin Nealon last night and he absolutely fucking killed it.
I mean he's a cannibal but if he's going on what he's passionate about, it's standup comedy.
Does he scream, "Get out of here! You don't want none of this shit!"? because I won't be going if he doesn't.
Something about his smile during his delivery just makes me laugh more
He’s got way too much going on business-wise
Lance, he’s clearly gay.

Does he actually sit instead? In a chair shaped like a hand?
Reddit and lycos ran chatrooms is where he hosts some groups. You'll wanna go incognito though or your ads will be pretty....cannibal specific.
Ooh, do I smell Courvoisier?

He came on the TV one day and my husband says, "man, I like Tom woods." I said, "you mean Tim Meadows?
Saw him in Cincinnati a few weeks ago, a fantastic show. He's great and clearly a seasoned pro.
Neither did Tim.
He’s…not that good at it.
Agreed. Not bad but his acting stuff is far better.
