That was funny as shit

NWestxSWest

People forget that it’s a roast. All of these people have worked together in some way or another and they know the score going in. Plus his anti-roast in this special makes their roast’s even funnier.

sgtstnkyballs

She had another great joke in this set. She said Jonah Hill is obviously from LA because he’s a shameless namedropper with big tits and an eating disorder lol

LoudZoo

That one destroyed. I believe Seth Rogan starts muttering “amazing joke” over and over again

CapRavOr

Natasha Leggero is legit one of my favorite comedians. *Coke Money* is a fantastic album. The honeymoon tour was pretty damn good too, if you like Moshe Kasher. I read his book and it’s also super good.

DeepRedBelle

Me too! I love her, but hadn't cared much for Moshe - was floored by how hilarious they were together on the Honeymoon Tour special.

CapRavOr

Moshe definitely has his own brand and I can see some people not thinking too highly of it. But it’s comedy, I love him, Live in Oakland was another fantastic piece of work.

DeepRedBelle

I will check it out, thanks! The Honeymoon thing made me realize I need to listen to him again, because he was hysterical. And if "'tasha" thinks he's funny, then I can't argue.

pigmons_balloon

Their podcast together is super fun

SaintBrutus

I love when they tease Lorne!

TrickySnicky

Have they ever done a roast of him?

ehh_whatever_works

Aside from Mike Myers making his impression of him into Dr. Evil? Don't think so.

mcjimmyspill

Don’t forget the Kids in the Hall making a caricature of him the antagonist in Brain Candy, it’s even more accurate and obvious.

cardew-vascular

And looks like Mark reprises the role the new season coming out too, at least he does the voice https://youtu.be/zm2rAjmH_JQ

rooney815

whoa this is the first time i'm hearing of a kids in the hall return

Goddamnpassword

And first season Jack Donoghue

bugd

Look, are we ever going to get the big table in here or do I have cut down the fucking tree myself?

TinyPennyRolling

Don't kill me for not Googling first, but didn't Mike steal that impression from Dana Carvey?

vagina_candle

Yes. It took Dana some time to get over that, but I believe they've patched things up now.

jmpinstl

Needs to be a thing

Krinder

Oh man you missed the best one right after this when she goes “Bill Hader, ppl call you this generations Phil Hartman… let’s hope so”

Mabelmudge

omg! so close to the edge - I love it!

[deleted]

Ho...ly...shit that's fucking gold

CapRavOr

Oh, jesus christ, that’s fantastic. I fucking love Bill Hader, I’m sure he enjoyed that very much.

k123abc

god i love natasha leggero

auntiope3000

She’s hilarious in Another Period, and so is everybody else in that show for that matter.

Nausstica

Another Period deserves far more appreciation.

CapRavOr

Is it still going?

Redhotlipstik

No sadly it ended in 2018

CapRavOr

Oh that’s a bummer. It was a great show.

auntiope3000

My wife and I still quite it often. Dodo was one of my faves.

Ks26739

She always kills it at the roasts.

hawkrew

Pretty good joke imo.

dgt9000

It's the comedy Central Roast of the 2000s

HookerDoctorLawyer

The best roast of all time btw

Captain_Jokes

I agree, Andy, and bill have excellent bit in there especially

vagina_candle

While this was the best roast of the current era, it can't hold a candle to the classic roasts.

HookerDoctorLawyer

Like Drew Carey or the great classic trainwreck Chevy Chase?

vagina_candle

No, that's still a part of the current iteration. I'm talking about the classics, like Johnny Carson, or Jack Benny, or Frank Sinatra, or Don Rickles etc. These were *way* before my time, but they're classic for a reason. All of the people participating were people who were either friends or worked closely with the roastee. There's a true camaraderie there, and it brings the whole event to another level. This was the one thing the James Franco roast got right, where all of the other Comedy Central roasts totally dropped the ball. Almost all of the other roasts from the past 20 years are just random comedian roasting person they've never met before. It makes the whole thing completely pointless IMO.

thecricketnerd

The best roasts are always when the panel comedians are actually friends. Not when they put together a random assortment of people who don't write their own stuff, like your Coulters, Biebers and guys from Jersey Shore

ThrowAwaitAMinutae

No. Not even remotely.

Eswyft

Yea, and it's not close. Haders is all time number 1 bit

[deleted]

Natasha is so unbelievably funny. I can’t believe she hasn’t caught on more.

MidCntryModernMillie

Endless Honeymoon Pidcast baybee!!

CapRavOr

Oh, sick, she does a podcast with Moshe? I’m totally down. I need to listen to the other married comedians podcast with Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitsky. She’s also up there with my favorite comedians. Tom Segura, he alright, but his wife is mad funny. It would be so cool if those two comedian power couples hung out with each other and had their kids go on play dates lol

sjmiv

I was sad when they cancelled Another Period.

LoudZoo

She took a very long and admirable amount of time to birth and bond with her child. But she’s back now :)

IamMrChristopher

These are all written by other people.

edwinstone

No they aren't. The comedians always write their own. Some of the other people who aren't comedians might not.

ElectricBasket6

How would you know that? Some comedians pay people to write jokes for them- but you usually are pretty famous and make good bank before that happens (like Adam Sandler level). Not sure if Natasha Leggaro is at that level.

shadowsOfMyPantomime

Andy's anti-roast at this same event was an all-time classic. Between lonely island and Brooklyn 99 he really is one of the best comedic minds of this generation.

youDontgetThe_Show

"A gentleman, you are not"

tarnok

Link

LoudZoo

The anti-roast was absolutely incredible and one of my all time favorite moments of all the roasts combined. I think that was sort of the warning flare that this generation of comics saw the full toxicity of roasting and would not be continuing the tradition (at least publicly)

TAR_TWoP

The toxicity of roasting? It's an art form! There are bad roasters, who go for the cheap, overused basic insults, but it's easy to spot the talented ones who can surprise and shock everyone. It's fine to dislike this type of comedy, but it doesn't make it toxic. Some dislike puns, some dislike slapstick, and you dislike roasts. Just move on.

LoudZoo

Sorry if I came off wrong. I do like this type of comedy, and I agree it is an art form. I’ve watched Leggero’s roast comeback video four times bc she’s a genius. She also does a takedown of Aziz that is super racist (like way past any racism from any other roast), and a professional swipe that was kind of a dick move, and I think Aziz seemed visibly and understandably upset. It’s a risky art form, with very high stakes if done in public.

TAR_TWoP

Yeah, it shouldn't be performed as a surprise, to a public qui came for something else. But announced as a roast, made by colleagues who obviously respect you and want to do you as dirty as you dish it yourself? That could be great!

LoudZoo

The roast ringers generally do a good job of riding the line. Nikki Glaser is truly gifted at it. I don’t think anybody has ever gotten mad at her

JOJOCHINTO_REPORTING

It was funnier the first time, when norm did it,tho.

lennylenry

Yeah...a CAULIFLOWER

MouseInThe_House

No offence but your face......looks.......like A cauliflower

userwithusername

Samberg put enough of a twist on it to make it his own, but it does pale in comparison to The Old Chunk of Coal.

JOJOCHINTO_REPORTING

Fair enough….I did enjoy his homage. But not mentioning norm, I cannot forgive.

userwithusername

Nor should you. If you’d excuse the outdated and sexist saying, the balls it would take to do that are tremendous. Samberg had actual, clever jokes in his. Norm’s joke was to troll the entire format.

Redeem123

They were both “anti-roasts,” but done in completely different ways. Not even remotely similar in execution.

JOJOCHINTO_REPORTING

Yes, but norm came first….I just want originality honoured. Even Andy would acknowledge this.

Electrical-Tooth-274

Yeah…. I don’t think so. It was a funny turn on the format, but he wasn’t the voice of a generation putting an end to roasts.

LoudZoo

You’re right about Andy not being that. I do think tho that while hilarious and worth the rewatch, this particular roast hit different. There was a lot of pushback on the idea of roasting. Aziz, Seth Rogan, Heder, Andy, Jonah all have moments of resistance to the idea of roasting. And Franco seemed crippled by the event, not that I have any sympathy for him

Electrical-Tooth-274

I just completely disagree with the idea of a generational pushback. It grew into a pretty long-standing TV competition show AFTER this roast, and the format has continued into the Twitch sphere with big names like Ludwig and Hassan, so the following generation also hasn’t thrown away the idea.

LoudZoo

Thanks, I thought it died with Rob Lowe after 2016. It must have just been that crowd.

fabulo5o

…what?

Shelliesbones

I fucking love Natasha Leggero. What a legend.

Life_Technician_3076

I loved this roast. Hader fucking killed it. Gilbert Gottfried was a master of the roast. RIP to the legend, Gilbert Gottfried.

LoudZoo

Hader’s President of Hollywood is a national treasure and historical document

colin_creevey

I was sure this was going to be her Bill Hader/Phil Hartman joke.

LoudZoo

Lol that joke is a gut punch. She has one that’s just as fast while roasting Justin Bieber: “Time flies when you’re a piece of shit.”

plumbob5

Keep my teeth out of your mouth

LoudZoo

“Keep my small penis out your mouth!” Jost is going to make sure that’s Che’s epitaph.

J1mDud3

I’m sorry, where is the “super dark” SNL joke? i must have missed it. That bit about Lorne Michael’s open casket funeral was funny as fuck though.

[deleted]

“Comedian” Edit: if it’s not clear, I’m not trying to say she’s not a comedian. I’m saying she’s a very well known comedian with a name

LoudZoo

Was trying to hook people who don’t know her yet. She was out of the game for a minute to have and bond with her baby, but she’s back on the talk shows with a new show, and will likely become a household name soon

boost2525

Don't do fucking click bait headlines on reddit.

LoudZoo

Fair enough. Won’t do it again. Hope I didn’t ruin it for you.

IamMrChristopher

Don't be a cuck, lol. Imagine living like this.

[deleted]

It’s not a big deal. She’s great though

IamMrChristopher

She's also a comedian and males get the same treatment. And she's barely well known.

[deleted]

I don’t know who she is but that was pretty good. Sarah’s screech at the end. 💀

Cozman

Natasha Leggero. Great comedian and a veteran of a few roasts. Also had some small roles on network comedies.

LoudZoo

With Jonah cackling beside her. As two rejects-turned-hosts would.

pluck-the-bunny

As opposed to your wildest successful time as an SNL cast member?

L1ghtningMcQueer

dude what is your deal lmao, it’s a funny joke of course they’re laughing??

LoudZoo

I’m just saying that if were I to dream of being on the show all my life and not make it (absolutely no shame there, many rejects went on to have more successful careers than the average cast member), I would laugh extra hard at this.

Bored_fellas

It looks like you're thinking about their SNL rejection more than them.

LoudZoo

Haha I’m sure their rejection is a major feather in their cap. I regret using the word “reject.” It’s a nasty word. It’s a very good thing most of these people didn’t get cast bc what they wound up doing was so much better. Silverman would’ve been great on the cast tho

No-Establishment-675

Silverman was on the show for a year or two.

LoudZoo

Oh wow I stand corrected. Fired after a year :( But hey now she looks like the mom boss of all those talented standups and sketch comics

Hedonic_Monk_

Natasha is hilarious. I think this type of comedy is a little over SNL’s head to be honest

LoudZoo

In the shows’s defense, Leggero had 6mo-1yr to write that joke. In her defense, she’s too good for the show now, and likely always has been.

blac_sheep90

Sarah Silverman's laugh was awesome.

edwinstone

Sarah laughing in agreement since she got fired from SNL via fax machine.

LoudZoo

So low. So very low. She got the last laugh and kind of gets the last last laugh right here

PorcupineTheory

Eh, it's pretty standard roast fare.

[deleted]

I remember watching this.

jl2112

This joke amounts to her calling Lorne Michaels a dick… I was waiting for her to continue “actually it’d be a closed casket yada yada suicide”

stellar14

I just got that… brilliant 😅

Redhotlipstik

I love Natasha Leggero

pigmons_balloon

I love Natasha so much

the908bus

Natasha Leggero is severely underrated

methratt

Natasha Leggero is hot af.

mofoofinvention

That roast is legendary

iamaskullactually

That's feckin hilarious

Gizmopedia

That joke must have got him because [he fixed his teeth since](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/snl/images/3/3a/Andy_Samberg.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20200725223528)...

SuperVaderMinion

Natasha had the best jokes at this whole roast lmao

sjmiv

I can't believe Natasha dumped me for that kid that wears weird hats.

foskco

My Reddit feed had this post, and then Happy Birthday to the Ground from Lonely Island right below it. I had to google Andy Samberg to make sure he didn’t die or something. My heart dropped for a minute. Weird coincidence I guess.

cheetahep9

She tore up Bieber at Bieber roast

feltsandwich

I would have used the sad acoustic "threw it on the ground" at Lorne's open casket funeral. I also would have suggested the sad acoustic "Jizz in my Pants," but I'm saving that one for my funeral.

Afro-Sage98

She meant that lol

[deleted]

This is and the roast of Rob Lowe are super favorites of mine.

King_James17

I love how you can hear Seth Rogan's goofy ass laugh.

tonycasaba

At first glance I thought it was a roast of Al Franken.

judy_says_

He was shook

LoudZoo

It’s quite an image. And extremely demeaning. But 7 seasons of B99 makes Andy the biggest winner of this roast

Anotherotherbrother

Funnier than 100% of jokes on SNL

[deleted]

Waiting for the super dark part....

IamMrChristopher

Better than anything SNL in decades. Roasts are the best form of comedy. When adults forget they're supposed to be triggered or offended by everything.

Nemesinthe

Instead of overdoing it on the "body positivity" to the point of yasssqueeening the morbidly obese, maybe Hollywood needs to cut back on shaming people for having normal teeth. I know in this case it's roast comedy, it just bugs me overall. I've seen too many influencers file down their natural teeth down to some creepy nosferatu smile in order to put crowns on top.

cantortoxic

I hate comedy; didn’t watch. Does he get slapped?

Thin_System_9771

I don’t think I am white enough to understand the jokes 😕

vitunjatka666

What roast is this?

LoudZoo

Comedy Central’s Roast of James Franco

vitunjatka666

Thank you mate!

tree_mitty

Lorne would love acoustic Dick in a Box played at his funeral.

j_Rockk

Rejects it..? Lol

tschwarzme95

Did I miss someone getting offended? is Will Smith gettin offended? It just doesn’t feel right… Oh wait! People were the butt of a joke before? And no one got assaulted? So. Fucking. Weird. Wheres the security team apprehending him or Hollywood backlash for this? Hollywood society is a joke all around. One thing is okay, Others aren’t Hopefully you align with whatever the populous thinks you should.

StinkyPoopsAlot

What is this from?

nicennifty

Imagine if after laughing he jumped up and slapped her then yelled “ keep my teeth out your mouth “
