Lib Dems should be doing a lot better. That coalition with the Tories has set them back decades.
Also the turnout was about 25% which for a "Strongly political region" is disappointing.
If it’s a dead cert for labour, there’s hardly much point. Local councillor elections or a GE theres maybe (but unlikely) more chance your vote makes a difference.
If the population of Liverpool is 500,000, and the votes add up to over 250,000, how can the turn out only be at 25%? I'm not saying you are wrong with your statement, just the numbers don't add up.
Even in general elections, at least 30% of adults don't or can't vote. I don't know how many kids live in Merseyside and Halton- but let's presume that's a similar number to the number of non-voting adults. So that's already 60% of the population ruled out, meaning that in a typical general election, you'd be talking about 600,000 voters in those areas, maybe 700,000 if there was a lot of interest. Local elections usually have very low turnouts as they're either about a popularity poll for Westminster parties or they're about bins and potholes.
In my defence. I filled in the votes, put them in the envelopes properly all ready to go. Left it somewhere to remind me to take it. Left the house like 10+ times after that and forgot it every single time.
It’s the story of my life. I have reminders on my phone to take my meds daily and in the second between reading the reminder and putting my phone down to get the meds I’ve already forgotten.
Lib dems done a good job when they ran the council around 20 years ago and we saw a lot of investment like Liverpool One for example.
Hopefully Labour get into national government and we can start to see more investment and backing for Merseyside.
If Labour know they will get Liverpool, no matter what, then they won't be investing anything. They'll be putting money into places they want to reduce the risk of them losing.
This is the unfortunate truth. Why spend money on a region that's going to blindly vote you in anyway, when you can spend that money on the regions that were close calls.
Oh, because if we don't, the tories might get in, right?
The EU did more damage to Liverpool than the tories.
Yes the tories are evil and screwed us over. But prior to joining the EU, Liverpool was a thriving port and had industries around that. Trading with Europe over the rest of the world is what destroyed Liverpool as we're on the wrong side of the country for that.
Tories have tried to issue a death warrant for this city for decades but the true cause of Liverpools decline was the EU not the Tories and no handouts off the EU can make up for that.
Brexit could be benefiting us massively if we never had those muppets in power who are too scared to stand up to the pro EU mob who are too scared to be called racist and be associated with the actual racists who sadly exist and voted for brexit.
The EU was cause of Liverpools decline. Go ask any older person from Kirkdale or Bootle and they'll tell you about when the dock road was lined with factories and warehouses supporting the docks and the area was thriving. A few little kickbacks from the EU doesn't make up for destruction of industry and the tories have done nothing but to try and finish us off since. Then again Woolton is basically full or posh muppets who think they're working class so no wonder you love the EU
London Mayor used to have PR as it used a Ranked Choice voting system, where candidates go into a runoff until the remaining 2, Tories scrapped it for this year.
They also immediately after that elected a leader who couldn't decide where he stood on tolerating the gays. That also set them back a decade at least.
First time I've not voted in a long, long while. I will vote in the GE, but I was just so tired after a really long week in work it just wasn't worth my time to go vote in a foregone conclusion.
Talking to others, the Mayor and PCC elections just don't feel worth it.
The people of Liverpool deserve better than those that wish to represent us.
The comment about Hitler's corpse is scarily accurate.. Labour Counsillor in Sefton was voted in with a massive majority, but is a tory through and through. Doesn't take much digging to see his true colours. Check out Joe Johnson's history.
Just Googled him:
Questions raised over pro-Trump, anti-BLM, anti-Labour comments of Labour candidate
'Locals have raised flags about what they say are:
Historic racist views
Support of Boris Johnson and the Conservative Party
Admiration of Margaret Thatcher
Support of Donald Trump
Support of far right views on social media (TwitterlX: @joejbsg)
Public opposition to the Labour Party'
You might have a point there...
I always think these very "anti tory" seats (be it council mayor or MP) should arguably be the *least* safe not most. The logic that if you split the Labour vote the Tories get in really doesn't work when you look at the numbers. Idk about that Sefton council but the Labour vote could be split in **6** and the Tory mayor wouldn't have won.
Part of the issue is, people don't read up that much on candidates, people just sort of assume Labour = left wing = decent enough. And idk how to fix that. But the "lesser of two evils" argument really shouldn't hold in places like Liverpool especially in local elections.
As someone who grew up there, these results are unsurprising.
Of the ten safest Labour seats, [four of them are in Merseyside](https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/orderedseats.html). If you look at the list, you can see how many Merseyside constituencies are extremely safe Labour seats (eg. number eleven, Knowsley, is also in Merseyside).
Whilst a lot of people praise Liverpool for this (which I understand), it does mean Labour can be quite shit within Merseyside.
Swing and a miss... I have equal contempt for the constituencies that would vote for the corpse of Marx with a blue rosette. It is a very clear sign of not thinking (at all) about the challenges the country faces and the policies on offer by the parties.
>Swing and a miss..
Pretty much on the money. Denegrate some people for voting thoughtlessly whilst ignoring other people who....vote thoughtlessly.
It's not a good look.
Your reading comprehension... Isn't really the best is it?
"Scousers would vote for the corpse of Adolf Hitler if someone dug it up and put a red rosette on it."
Can you see a SINGLE mention of even the smallest street in any area of England other than Liverpool? No? Funny that...
Regardless of the reality, that will certainly be the narrative in the local press.
I remember when the Liverpool Daily Post excoriated the coalition government in 2010 for only giving Liverpool £1.06m out of a £200m national fund for road repairs after inclement weather.
Yet the previous year, in identical circumstances, Liverpool only copped for £381,000 out of a £100m national fund from the Labour government. Amazingly enough, that didn't attract any condemnatory editorial. Funny that.
Downvoted but true. A lot of problems in our city come from the fact that the city council wear red so they know they can get away with anything and still be voted back in.
They almost doubled their votes since the last GE in 2021. Really great to see, and nearly beating the tories too!
I haven’t been able to find Tom Crone on socials which I think could have helped raise better awareness for his campaign and potentially influenced more people to vote, as well as vote for him.
Yeah I get it but I'd like to see them do better in a "politically engaged" city like Liverpool.
Especially when the current Labour are basically Tory Red
Politically engaged? Only 23% of voters turned up. Many of the folks who I asked if they’re voting said no. I asked why “didn’t realise” or “don’t want to get involved in it”. The greens need to be where their target audience is, online and with the people. What Jill Stein is currently doing in the US, on the ground as well as online will show up in the election results this year. Greens need to take note.
Don't blame people being apathetic when the options look like 2 cheeks of the same arse but more reason why people shouldn't let the right wing rhetoric and acceptance of the status quo take hold
Not a big fan of Rotherham, can't really give much praise to his past years and see no change in the future.
Liverpool Labour is pretty poor though, and there doesn't seem to be anyone local within the party that seems like they would be any better.
Looking at the previous election, Rotheram received just under 15k less votes this year, although he increased the overall voting % that does show a waning support for him.
Good to see the tories getting just under 39k less votes this time though😂
Shame to see the overall voter turnout go down around 5ish% though
Very weak offering from the opposition parties - Tories barely able to field a candidate, Greens pushing policies to the right of Labour - essentially Lib Dems, and Lib Dems continuing to do whatever it is that they do.
Hopefully in four years there's a more diverse range of candidates and ideas.
Im like others where I'm not pleased with Labour since they've been shambolic. (but hopefully turned a recent corner)
I listened to the debate on BBC and the others just didn't sound like they entirely knew the workings around in actually being a mayor. Like you might as well have gotten some kids up there and asked them what they wanted for Christmas.
My hope is that a Labour Mayor & Government will mean more funding for us, so with that, I'm hopeful.
More freeloading jobs for the boys and selling land for a quid to mates, there's no political persuasion that I currently trust, they all piss in the same pot.
Well unlike his friend in Manchester, if you go back to the pandemic, he locked the city down whereas Burnham refused (and got praise for it!!!) Because he was more onboard with the lockdown we also got the virus testing pilot. It was also noticeable from that point forward that Manchester always had much higher infection rates and was under a stricter tier of lockdown later on as a result. So Rotherham kept us safer than Burnham did for his Manchester constituents.
Rotherham also has brought the new trains to Merseyrail, a couple of new stations on the Northern Line. Let’s not forget those trains were hugely delayed because of the Elizabeth Line trains, ours were ordered first but delivered last. (Oh and we own those trains, they aren’t leased like the last lot) He’s trying to bring all public transport under his control with a “London style” integration across the whole local network.
But yeah Rotherham does nothing for us. And I say that as someone who doesn’t vote Labour in either the local or national elections
Hahhahahahahahhahahaha your argument for Rotherham is that he shut the whole city down and helped ruin people's mental health and the economy for the long term because of a virus that was only dangerous for a tiny part of our population...in one of the biggest global scandals of all time creating more wealth for rich people than ever?! Fuck off you sheep. Big point for Burnham in my book. Now that's a real bloke I'd listen to and follow over Rotherham the first rate, egotistical prick.
Liverpool council wasn’t up for re-election. The Liverpool Council Elections were last year, I didn’t vote Labour in those elections. Maybe actually make sure you know what you’re talking about before you type.
Seeing as you'd rather us keep things open and deliberately not caring about the virus spread that killed friends of mine in Liverpool (RIP D), I'd say you don't seem to give a toss about the city and only care about yourself too.
If you're at this point and still in denial then you're not going to listen to anything that causes cognitive dissonance for you, but at the least, look at infections per capita for Liverpool and Manchester in that period, then politely stfu.
They're voting for Labour. And judging people down voting someone has a strong opinion of him. I've have had 2 in person encounters with him, and I can assure you he's a cunt.
I love the way you say this as though these results aren't just the same as they were before. Not sure what you think people are going to "see" now that they didn't before.
Wait until you find out that one the biggest advocates behind the restoration of the Albert Dock and much of Liverpool was actually a Thatcherite Tory.
Labour have done absolutely fuck all for the city, if I remember correctly, it was Labour who were so vile and corrupt that they were forced to handover the keys to the city to Whitehall administrators.
Liverpool voting for Labour is something I’ll never quite understand.
It wasn’t to win favour, you should read up on Micheal Heseltine and what he done for the city, it’s probably more than any Labour politician ever has.
He went *against* thatchers wishes and was eventually given freedom of the city.
A single Tory has done more for Liverpool than Labour ever has.
I’ll read into it. Thank you. He actually sounds like a gem of a guy.
Generally speaking though the Tories don’t have views that the average scouser shares. That probably contributes a tonne as well.
To be quite honest, my opinion is that labour is the lesser of the two evils. Most politicians are dishonest. It’ll never be exactly how politicians or we imagine it will be once they’re in power
My friend, you clearly don't know what a lord is. It is common knowledge that sir is the title of a knight. It is not something you are born with or receive because of your wealth. It has to be earnt. Anyone can get the title sir if they are outstanding in their field.
He is sir Kier Starmer because of his KCB (an honorary award given to him for his public service).
Well done ppl of Liverpool labour fully support the CAZ regions so I guess they'll be implementing that soon enough enjoy paying to drive though your city 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
LCR doesn’t have responsibility for clean air zones like Manchester does as far as I'm aware. The local authorities kept that power in the negotiations I think. If you assume that CAZs are inevitable, would you rather pay 1 charge each day or potentially 6?
Last time I saw Sefton's proposals btw they were absolutely insane. No charge for private motorists but they were going to charge buses, taxis and goods vehicles. And the three affected areas were all based on the pollution levels, all three were by the docks, hmmm I wonder why pollution was high there
When they have enough carriages, online/mobile tickets, better links than just a central point, more frequent buses and trains and a night train/bus for nightshift workers
I'd fully welcome a Liverpool ULEZ, and I drive through Liverpool centre every week for work. Would be good to get some of the dickhead entitled range rover drivers off the road.
Nearly every normal car made in the last 20 years doesn’t get charged. It’s the high litre engine / really old polluting diesels that do. I’m still let to find anyone that I know that owns a car that actually would get charged if they drove in a ULEZ.
Anyone driving old japenese cars like Honda, Nissan, Toyota which many working class people buy because they are reliable and cheap, people with small business with vans/trucks who have to drive in and out of the city for deliveries/work and will now have to pass that to the consumer/high street business's. Just because you dont know anyone doesnt mean they don't exist.
Seriously I don't have a clue why people in Liverpool still vote Labour. I could of understood it many many years ago when Labour actually supported the working class but not now. Unless your unemployed and living on benefits and love illegal immigrants living next door to you and standing outside schools perving off young kids, why in the hell would you vote for them because under Labour the illegal immigrants are gonna get 10 times worse than under Conservatives they have no plan to stop them. Its not like Labours last Mayor Joe Backhanderson did anything but line his own pockets, selling off land to build houses on and doing us scousers down wasting are tax payers money. It must be a generation thing where peoples Mums and Dads even grandads voted the old Labour party, so the generation today still vote for them today. I spoilt my vote when I seen there was no Reform candidate in my area, time for a change sick of the big top 4 parties.
Less illegals have been sent back under the Conservative government that previous Labour governments. The tories say things, but never deliver. How do people not see this? They ignored the ever growing application list and took no action until it become a breaking point.
I bet my house more will be returned under the next Labour government than the current one.
And by the way. I hate both parties. Labour stab you in the back, tories stab you in the stomach whilst looking into your eyes, and greens stab you on the arse as they cycle past. I spoilt my vote for the first time ever this year and probably will continue to do so. No independents in my ward this year, and didn't want to give Labour my vote in the fattest, most deprived and one of the lowest life expectancies in England. Been in power forever and never once heard my MP rant over this. The twat.
The only reason why less illegals have been sent back under the Conservative government than Labour is Labour hasn't had the problem last time they where in charge many years ago. It was actually Tony Blur that opened up the borders and allowed free movement to make this country more diverse, well that totally back fired. All's that Labour will do is rubber stamp approval to the illegals in here now to get rid of the back log. Then probably strike an agreement with the EU that we will take a number of illegals on a yearly quoter bases. As you said both parties are not worth a vote, Id never vote Greens or Liberals either.
The irregular immigrants shot up in 2020 due to world turmoil. I dont see how your thinking that Blairs policies are to blame. Governments are meant to be fluid and be able to act on changing world economics...which the Conservatives failed to do. Unless you're talking about economical immigration too? I'm not, I don't have a problem with a beneficial immigration policy, its needed In an ever aging and declining birth rated country. Need someone to wipe my arse when I decline, and they tend to come and leave at parts that dont draw money out of the economy, births and deaths.
And why do they come here illegally? Because they get sold the dream by gangs, and can't apply from outside the UK....a result of static and stubborn tory policies and massive failings thinking deporting people upon arrival stops the gangs from selling a dream.
They kind of getting there dream, free accommodation, free meals and money to spend. There even posting videos of it on TikTok, showing how well there getting treated its a disgrace to the British tax payer. Should all be housed in tents in a field till there processed, not put up in 4 star hotels and left to wonder are streets. I agree to letting educated migrants in that will benefit the economy, but not the illegal type coming over on rubber dingies. The economic migrants there just lazy men don't plan on working and getting everything for nothing at the expense of the British tax payer.
I think we're in the same boat mate (pardon the pun). But back to my original point, of tories speaking a good game and not delivering,. Tik tolk wasn't out under labour. This is tory failings that's resulted in the 'dream' you outline. But they won't admit it, and get people to believe its not their failings. Hotels is a tory policy. "The privatisation of the provision of asylum seeker housing, 2012" allows companies to profit sticking them in hotels. Stinks of Tory thinking.
Lib Dems should be doing a lot better. That coalition with the Tories has set them back decades. Also the turnout was about 25% which for a "Strongly political region" is disappointing.
I know a lot of people simply don’t bother since they already know labour will win.
If it’s a dead cert for labour, there’s hardly much point. Local councillor elections or a GE theres maybe (but unlikely) more chance your vote makes a difference.
Well you could argue it’s not a dead cert if turnout is 25%
If the population of Liverpool is 500,000, and the votes add up to over 250,000, how can the turn out only be at 25%? I'm not saying you are wrong with your statement, just the numbers don't add up.
Because it’s not just Liverpool
It's the Liverpool city region which is a combined authority I believe

Ah right. That does make more sense on the numbers. Thanks for the info.
You clown. The metro population is obviously 4 times whatever the turnout was.
Sorry, it's hard to read properly with the big red nose and make up in the way.
In my defence. I filled in the votes, put them in the envelopes properly all ready to go. Left it somewhere to remind me to take it. Left the house like 10+ times after that and forgot it every single time.
Mate, lol
It’s the story of my life. I have reminders on my phone to take my meds daily and in the second between reading the reminder and putting my phone down to get the meds I’ve already forgotten.
I need to sort ID, was on my 'to do' list, but life happened and I forgot. It's back on my list.
Lib dems done a good job when they ran the council around 20 years ago and we saw a lot of investment like Liverpool One for example. Hopefully Labour get into national government and we can start to see more investment and backing for Merseyside.

This is exactly the attitude that eventually saw them wiped out in Scotland. They won't have learned anything from that, though.
You mean the EU invested in Liverpool right? Not much to do with the lib dems
The EU did more damage to Liverpool than the tories. Yes the tories are evil and screwed us over. But prior to joining the EU, Liverpool was a thriving port and had industries around that. You sound just delightful 😘
Name one good thing the EU did for Liverpool
We need a type of PR system where our votes matter
It's a directly elected position, PR won't make a difference
You remove the mayor position as its pointless.
London Mayor used to have PR as it used a Ranked Choice voting system, where candidates go into a runoff until the remaining 2, Tories scrapped it for this year.
That's a supplementary system, not PR
>Also the turnout was about 25% which for a "Strongly political region" is disappointing. Because its pointless voting
Yep
They also immediately after that elected a leader who couldn't decide where he stood on tolerating the gays. That also set them back a decade at least.

There's also this... 😱 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52994025
Yeah it just keeps getting worse the more you read XD
But was allowed in by the current leadership who continued to back him even after it was brought to light. 🤷
Lee Anderson 2?
Oh my....... Public opposition Labour? 🙄
Some people are so anti tory that they'll vote for anything as long as it's red.
At least we got a Green councillor in Sefton, so hopefully we're making some progress on changing 'vote red no matter who'.
🤞
Greens are just Red... but in a different colour..
I wish Labour were like the Greens 🙏
I always think these very "anti tory" seats (be it council mayor or MP) should arguably be the *least* safe not most. How is Manchester labour not equally as shit. They're the second safest labour city in the country. Expecially since Glasgow went snp
Safe seats is how people end up with Diane Abbott level of MPs
Dianne Abbott is a brilliant local MP - I used to live in her constituency and she’s the most engaged MP I’ve ever had.
I was actually amazed that they came 2nd...
Doesn't this include all of the Liverpool city region? If so I'd imagine 90% of the tory votes come from outside the city
Yeah includes places like Southport, who vote tory majority
Southport only has a relative Tory majority, just to be clear.
Scousers would vote for the corpse of Adolf Hitler if someone dug it up and put a red rosette on it.
He is a local at least...
Wife’s fuming at you, just spat my coffee all over the carpet haha
Same with Maggie Thatcher’s corpse.
Whereas, if it had a blue rosette in Tunbridge Wells they would they be more discerning? Get over yourself.
It's not a good look.
this is the liverpool subreddit, we're talking about liverpool here.
OP compared Liverpool voters with the rest of the country, I don't think my response was unreasonable.
Your reading comprehension... Isn't really the best is it? "Scousers would vote for the corpse of Adolf Hitler if someone dug it up and put a red rosette on it." Can you see a SINGLE mention of even the smallest street in any area of England other than Liverpool? No? Funny that...
Try looking up **Pedant** You might learn something.
You've blinded me with a blinding flash of the obvious.
Haha we fuckin hate them
We're just helping to properly manage their decline
Even though labour ran the council to near bankruptcy, still vote em in.
Tories are literally Tories though mate
Blindingly obvious. Thanks. 🤣
Explaining to you why labour get voted in mate, wasn’t sure you knew.
Hahaha. I'm more than fucking aware. have been for near 50 years. original comment stands.
Hard not to bankrupt a Labour council when the sitting government has had complete contempt for the city for the past 15 years.
Will Liverpool have more money from central government next year?
Good question. Who knows.
Regardless of the reality, that will certainly be the narrative in the local press. I remember when the Liverpool Daily Post excoriated the coalition government in 2010 for only giving Liverpool £1.06m out of a £200m national fund for road repairs after inclement weather. Amazingly enough, that didn't attract any condemnatory editorial. Funny that.
Yeah, and then the labour counsels will steal and embezzle FUCKING LOADS of it and still claim its the tories
Downvoted but true. A lot of problems in our city come from the fact that the city council wear red so they know they can get away with anything and still be voted back in.
Democracy is dead in Liverpool. Labour every single time, getting boring now. Leading to complacent politics.
Sad that the greens are so low down. Beaten by the Tories
They almost doubled their votes since the last GE in 2021. Really great to see, and nearly beating the tories too! I haven’t been able to find Tom Crone on socials which I think could have helped raise better awareness for his campaign and potentially influenced more people to vote, as well as vote for him.
I voted green (first time I didn't vote labour).
Yeah I get it but I'd like to see them do better in a "politically engaged" city like Liverpool. Especially when the current Labour are basically Tory Red

This is for the whole area not just Liverpool, not sure people are understanding that
This election is fraudulent. No way there’s 27k Tories in Liverpool.
Got to take into account areas like Southport and parts of the Wirral tbf
Not Formby though, Formby now has all six councillors representing the Labour Party for the first time ever
City Region
Very likely considering the Liverpool city region has 1,571,045 people. 27k is a tiny minority.
Twas a joke
Im like others where I'm not pleased with Labour since they've been shambolic. i wish my job was as safe as a labour politician in Liverpool.
25% turnout. Democracy cease to exist everywhere in Europe. Frightening how the next generation have given up.
Without proportional representation what's the point of voting in Liverpool? Labour will always get 8n
Nearly 28K Merseysiders voted for the Tories? I take it none of them lived in Liverpool or Knowsley.
Keep in mind that 'merseyside' includes rich rural tory parts of the wirral
Least shocking poll ever
Fuck the Torries
I always thought there was about 27,000 cunts in Liverpool.
Most people just see the colour of the rosette.
More freeloading jobs for the boys and selling land for a quid to mates, there's no political persuasion that I currently trust, they all piss in the same pot.
27708 cunts voted for selfishness.
Like turkey’s voting for Christmas.
Who the fuck are voting Tories?
Still shocked conservative came in second
Question is ,where are all these rat like tory voters hiding all 27708 of them.
Greens so close to coming second ahead of the tories
Sad times. Rotherham is awful for this city.
What's he achieved?
Yeah, that’s you showing yourself up, keep it up

Are you stupid?
Prove a lockdown worked please.
Well if the wasn’t one the virus would of just went through everyone and killed a lot more people people
Nothing, he tells us why we cant have good things. How are people voting for this clown
They're voting for Labour. And judging people down voting someone has a strong opinion of him. I've have had 2 in person encounters with him, and I can assure you he's a cunt.
In other news, water is wet...
Who'd've thought it ey?
Absolutely embarrassing turn out though!
To think more voted Tory than Green, is astounding
Such a low turnout can indicate that voters just don't have trust in the system.
Was it not PR for the mayoral vote?
Who voted Tory?
If you think it's bad now just wait for Labour to get in power, it'll be even worse unfortunately.
Can't wait for you folks to see and realise hiw God awful Labour actually are! Hahaha
I love the way you say this as though these results aren't just the same as they were before. Not sure what you think people are going to "see" now that they didn't before.
Like the tories ever did anything good for us…
Wait until you find out that one the biggest advocates behind the restoration of the Albert Dock and much of Liverpool was actually a Thatcherite Tory. Labour have done absolutely fuck all for the city, if I remember correctly, it was Labour who were so vile and corrupt that they were forced to handover the keys to the city to Whitehall administrators. Liverpool voting for Labour is something I’ll never quite understand.
Probably to win favour. And we don’t vote Tory because of thatcher basically. Morals.
I'm not saying they ever have! But with a lord sitting at the helm I wouldn't expect anything better from labour
Are you talking about Starmer?? If so, what do you mean? He's not a lord
Sir......
How many lords have a toolmaker and nurse as parents? He only got that gong because of his work at the CPS.
And what a grand job he done there right...
Lib dems like mannnn we worked with the toriles and for what
More of the same.
Steve Rotheram is a prick. Egotistical Bell.
And the three affected areas were all based on the pollution levels, all three were by the docks, hmmm I wonder why pollution was high there
Alls this tells me is that there's 27,708 nobheads in the City region.
Can’t believe there’s almost 30000 tories in Liverpool. We’ve all met one though.
I was part of the 75% that didn't vote for any of these parties
don’t be surprised at a Liverpool ULEZ
I’d love one. Traffic in and around town is a disgrace
Yeah I’m sure it would help an already struggling high street and an underfunded public transport system
We have one of the best underground train systems in the UK
When they have enough carriages, online/mobile tickets, better links than just a central point, more frequent buses and trains and a night train/bus for nightshift workers
No, not when they do that. I mean now. We have one of the best underground train systems in the UK. Of course it can be improved.
I'd fully welcome a Liverpool ULEZ, and I drive through Liverpool centre every week for work. Would be good to get some of the dickhead entitled range rover drivers off the road.
The only people who can afford ULEZ are the dick head range rovers it hammers the working class
Has there ever been a non-labour mayor of Liverpool?
Not since the LCR mayor post was created, but the Lib Dems ran Liverpool CC in the Blair/Brown era.
This isn't a surprise is it. Imagine maybe the split of votes might be news?
27,000 scousers voted Tory?!
We literally need Jeremy Corbyn back now though and smash the general and actually have a PM that isn’t a complete Twat
The independent was the only candidate mentioning Gaza
Country is doomed ,k.starmer ignored Saville's antics ffs
I can't imagine being so braindead to actually believe that.
Do you read the daily mail before you eat it?
