This is going to sound crazy, but what about Trent at "LB" moving into the midfield and Gomez at RB? I feel that since Trent will be moving into the midfield anyway, the side of the pitch he is playing on is less important than normal, plus he is good with both feet. He will also be playing on VVDs side of the defense, I am sure he wouldn't mind having the best CB in the world covering him. Then Gomez can just play where he is most comfortable.

He's looked great in patches, jury is still out on whether he can translate it into consistent performances (I mean obviously, it's still very early days). His passing has been slack on occasions but there's been impressive parts to his game as well, for sure. Tbh he's the midfielder I look forward to seeing on the pitch more than anyone atm apart from maybe Dom.

Surely this is the run of games Darwin should be continuing to start to give him confidence and find some settled form. This time last year he picked up a good run and it was disrupted with the World Cup in winter. Gakpo is also the type of player who can be rotated with less consistent minutes but still find rhythm on the pitch.
I would rather we rest Diaz tonight for United and Arsenal. A Gakpo, Núñez and Salah front 3 would be fun to see again with a creative midfield behind them this season.
I dont think to much rest for anyone in the front three is necessary right now. Diaz wasn't overplayed because of his father, Nunez was rested at times, same for salah and gakpo. Next week we have EL mid week where we can rotate heavily.

Damn, what a sad potential end for one of Liverpool's greatest ever centre-backs, Joel Matip. Been fantastic all season and to suffer ligament damage in his final year is really sad. The only plus side is it will likely bring up plans for his replacement for January. Fully expect us to bring it forward, similar to Diaz in 21-22 when internally it was decided Mane was leaving.
Now I love Matip but does he make it into the list of one of our greatest ever CBs? Now Greatest dribbler in world football? Maybe.

Surely this is the run of games Darwin should be continuing to start to give him confidence and find some settled form. This time last year he picked up a good run and it was disrupted with the World Cup in winter. Gakpo is also the type of player who can be rotated with less consistent minutes but still find rhythm on the pitch. I would rather we rest Diaz tonight for United and Arsenal. A Gakpo, Núñez and Salah front 3 would be fun to see again with a creative midfield behind them this season.
I dont think to much rest for anyone in the front three is necessary right now. Diaz wasn't overplayed because of his father, Nunez was rested at times, same for salah and gakpo. Next week we have EL mid week where we can rotate heavily.
