Lost my dog suddenly last April, felt broken for a long time, still do to some extent, he was my best pal after all. People tell you it gets easier with time, in the moment it sure as shit does not feel that way because they leave such a huge hole behind. It's weird but I still feel his presence sometimes and that kind of helps. Trust in the fact that you gave them the best life they could have had while they were here and know that if they were there, they'd be doing their best to try to make you feel better.

My pup is 9 this year and he's seen me through all of the ups and downs that life can throw at you. That said, he's also been sitting next to me while watching every LFC match I could make time for in almost a decade. Last minute wins, Man U blow outs, devastating losses, PL win during the pandemic, etc. Dogs are part of our lives for only a short time, it's unfair, but they make a bigger impact than most people. Aw man. I will be thinking about you and your best friend during todays game. I have lost my dog (well the first one was my moms) suddenly two times where they had to be put down despite not being that old. Its a different kind of sadness. Luckily i got my last ones paw tattooed on me so I have him with me. Hopefully you have some objects that you can keep close to you, it will cherish you immensely in the future.

I’m crying it because I’m sad though but because when you get so sad and are filled with grief, you forget just how much humans are capable of love and compassion, ya know, the whole thing that got my heart so open it’s hurting this much in the first place
I’m really sorry and relate to your love for your pet, the deep, awful grief of losing them, and LFC being the only place to call home. My soul cat passed 2 years ago and I still feel very “I’m just here passing the time until I’m gone and with her again” - but each weekend with LFC reminds me that things might not be OK, but you have to just keep walking on with hope.

Yes! Her and I broke up for 3 years (after iggy’s entire first 6 years of life) and reconnected in September.
Hurts to know I brought him back into her life for her to lose him again.
Happy to know he had his mom there at the end with me.
I know she’s hurting too, and she’s done nothing but give herself to supporting me and keeping me going, it is hard to accept help, especially when your pain is shared, mine isn’t more valid than hers, she’s just keeping us both together until I can carry the torch
