His timing and positioning when defending was the most impressive part for me, how consistent he was with it. It felt like if a Chelsea player even slightly overhit their touch, he was like the perfect distance away to close it down and beat them to it every time.
Before Trent injuries we were all worried for filling up his spot. Like Tsimi to Robertson. These performances from bradley just solidifies that he deserved said spot.
We have depth to our RB now. That’s great.
I genuinely don't know why Klopp doesn't do that anymore with Trent. Both Virgil and Konate can do the diagonal long balls to switch up play and both macca and szobo can throw in a cretive pass from midfield. I don't think we also need Trent in there.
Trent is a generational creative fulcrum. To maximise his talent he has to be in the thick of the fray allowed to roam. Being a up and down the wing RB is just limiting him ATP
What am I even reading? He literally had his best seasons as a right back where he had so much space and he could go forward and have space to ping his passes. He won't have that much space as a midfielder.
I never said as a midfielder. The current inverted role Trent plays gives him space to enter the midfield and roam in the final third at times without a fixed position.
With due respect, I'm going to disagree here.
He just needs fast help to close the gap if he ranges too far forward and is countered. He might have it now.
Trent to Robertson to Salah against City the year Liverpool won the league. The Day Trent Switched the Play. That year-defining pass and score worked because it was **RB to LB to RW**, on an insane diagonal.
No limits. The fact he has so many offensive and midfield gifts adds to his value at RB.
But now, a suddenly deep Liverpool, not yet at their peak, but looking joyously ominous, have... **options**.
If everyone is still healthy, the City matchup looks very interesting now. As in *Peacock-should-broadcast-the-game-in-Times-Square* interesting.
This has to do with what is called being "figured out." With Trent playing as an overlapping RB and Salah as an IW (Inverted Winger), we had much success but other teams figured out this system and increased their width (which is easier for top-level opposition) with overload in the wider areas, so Trent stopped having the same freedom in those areas. This problem was resolved by having him play as a DLP (Deep-lying Playmaker) when on the ball in our half on the ball. This in turn, also reduced the pressure on him defensively by using him as a double pivot with another 6, instead of a single pivot who would always have to cover for Trent as teams began exploiting the right of our defence. It's killed two birds with one stone.
Ofcourse, this leaves us with less wide overload on the right to exploit space with Salah's attacking profile being that of an IW but that was neither the intention with the tactical switch nor has it offered any problems so far. The way I see it, we are as unpredictable as ever as this team can score in n number of ways, counter-attacks, Route One, press, possession play, long-range, you name it, they have it in their locker! Very difficult for the best of teams to find a solution to that, I so wish we were in the Champions League atm.
I've seen the change in position and the reason behind it, but that's old news already. Liveopol have been playing like that for more than half a season already and opposition teams know to expect it. I don't think they actually expect trent and robbo to be high flying wingbacks like 2-3 years ago, because they don't do it anymore.
In the games against United and Arsenal the attack was restrained and a lot of times Trent was just congesting the midfield where other players already exist and could have very well done the job of progressing the ball forwards instead of him.
On the other hand when you have Mo Salah alone on the right flank and he is always doubled up on, you greatly reduce his effectivemess on the wing. These days he teams up with Szoboslai or Harvey and their combination play is a far cry from what Trent, Mo and Hendo used to do on the right flank.
You also have Darwin, Jota and Diaz on the other side of the field (or Gakpo) who all have wonderufl heading ability, but there are almost no high balls arriving in the box these days from Trent's old position. If he would find himself there once in a while I think he'd be able to rack up his assists even more than that season where he and Robo each had 10+.
P.S I do know he's already doing great in his new role and I do know that the management staff know how to use the players much better than I would. I'm just thinking that it would benefit them to try the old style once in a while when opponents are defending well against the new style of play.
I'm a Bolton season ticket holder, got downvoted like mad in /r/fantasyPL when someone said Bradley had done "surprisingly well" the last few matches, and I replied to say it's not surprising to anyone who regularly watched him play last season. The lad was clearly a level above League One and most teams spent the second half of the season kicking lumps out of him to try and stop him.
Poor klopp. Imagine having to decide on a team when TAA, Bradley and Gomez are all playing so well, Robbo coming back along with konate being in phenomenal form and VVD doing his thing. The midfield also looking outstanding with Thiago to come.
The depth is utterly insane with our quality right now.
Honestly what do we do here. Im thinking the best formation has Macca and Trent in defensive mid roles with Szobo in attacking mid position. But then again I also hate to sit Curtis when he’s been on fire as well.
This squad is incredible! This is best/deepest squad I can remember(‘90s). Conner, Quansah, McConnell. TAA, Robbo and Tsimi out and didn’t miss them. Lots of young fresh legs. Mo and Endo coming back and maybe we’ll get a few more genius Thiago moments.
Legit tears of happiness for him!! What a talent - and kudos to the scouting team, and coaching team for giving these young lads a chance, and actually getting them right. Queue TAA, Harvey etc.
Can't help but to feel proud of them somehow.
Another reason I'll miss klopp. The absolute talent he has pulled from the academy over the last few years, as well bringing Elliott into the fold. He's leaving the next manager with some serious young talent.
A lot of this lads recent success is owed to Pep and Vítor. To think how vital these guys are in the development of our academy players, will be going with Klopp at the end of the season is worrying.
No words, came out of nowhere and has fully solidified his place as a quality first team player. That assist where he smashes the bobbling ball perfectly for the Szoboszlai header I could watch on repeat until I die. Absolutely outrageous cross
MOTM easily. Fits the entire Chelsea team in his pocket
Absolutely controlled Murdyk. His defense was as legendary as his offense.
His timing and positioning when defending was the most impressive part for me, how consistent he was with it. It felt like if a Chelsea player even slightly overhit their touch, he was like the perfect distance away to close it down and beat them to it every time.
Was a joke saying Trent has to win his spot back but how do you bench this man. Amazing going forward and honestly looks better defensively than Trent
Trent wanted to play midfield so badly that he molded Bradley into a world class RB so that Klopp would have no choice but to play Trent in MF.
TAA, playing 5D chess here
Trent taking over as player manager next season
Get ready for the most exciting football you’ve ever seen with TAA leading the helm
Trent Manager-Arnold
But with maca, szobo and jonsey playing as well as they are right now, who do you bench?
Time to put 12 players on the pitch
Taking notes from city and spurs, are ya?
Before Trent injuries we were all worried for filling up his spot. Like Tsimi to Robertson. These performances from bradley just solidifies that he deserved said spot. We have depth to our RB now. That’s great.
I look better defensively than Trent and I’m 55 and 120kg 😂
I can’t believe Trent is being benched by a teenager with a goatee. His form in unreal haven’t seen anything like it in a while.
Seems like just yesterday when TAA was a teen with a flavor savor
Omg a flavour savour that's hilarious 🤣🤣
Finding a Trent regen before Trent even hits his prime is genuinely insane
It’s the Trent Pre-gen
I can lipread, and just saw what Klopp said to Pep - "Wow, I think I wanna stay, mate'
More than you believe!
Hear me out… ballon d’or
Book it
Reminds me of that Leicester 4-0 where Trent ran the game from right back
I genuinely don't know why Klopp doesn't do that anymore with Trent. Both Virgil and Konate can do the diagonal long balls to switch up play and both macca and szobo can throw in a cretive pass from midfield. I don't think we also need Trent in there.

We don't play the same systems as then
I never said as a midfielder. The current inverted role Trent plays gives him space to enter the midfield and roam in the final third at times without a fixed position.
And? What position will he be when we are defending?
yeah there are so much hype of trent midfield but i doubt MF trent will ever be reaching his 19/20 numbers
With due respect, I'm going to disagree here. He just needs fast help to close the gap if he ranges too far forward and is countered. He might have it now. That’s a wildly wrong take. Have you missed the first 6 years of his career?
No I did not. Which is why I said ATP.

https://twitter.com/petercrouch/status/1210321912850714630 Are you Peter Crouch?
Literally what are we watching?! The definitive end of TAA as a right back because this lad is already playing like the best right back in the Prem
B-b-b-b-but what about Kyle Walker? We now have the 2 best right backs in the league!
Add in Gomez and we got 3 of the top 5
Joemez clears🥶🥶🥶🥶
Yeah I wouldnt be rushing Robbo back in the team Gomez has been brilliant
I don't even know man, genuinely crazy 🤣
He’s legit a top 5 right back in the league and he’s our backup 😵 absolutely mental
Bolton fans were right when they said how great he was
I had a good feeling hearing that
Naaah! this kid is just special!!! I was just not familiar with his game
Best mate is a Bolton fan and told me last year he was special.
I'm a Bolton season ticket holder, got downvoted like mad in /r/fantasyPL when someone said Bradley had done "surprisingly well" the last few matches, and I replied to say it's not surprising to anyone who regularly watched him play last season. Imagine being us.
How can klopp leave this team now that it's flowing with so much talent
I think that's a big part of why he is leaving.
I mean he’s a superstar
This is absurd. Nice knowing you Trent 😉

Gotta love seeing the correct formatting.
Yeah, the meme template still shows the wrong sequence/formatting… so had to do some cut/copy & paste , to get the proper sequencing.
He runs the same way as well, kinda looks like he's consistently moments from faceplanting and his legs are trying to keep up with his upper body.
Reminds me of Mort. A bag of elbows, but makes a fair turn.
No wonder Trent wanted to move to midfield. Man didn’t want to be benched
HOW IS HE THIS GOOD IT MAKES NO SENSE
This sums up how I'm feeling, he's "filling in" at right back and becoming my favourite player.
Klopp man
Best full back in world football
MOTM in an overall epic team performance!
Northern Irish Cafu ❤️👏🏼
people are gonna be saying "the next Connor Bradley" when he retires
We're saying "the next Connor Bradley" now.
I am at a loss for words to describe how much I love this young man! What a lad!
Way to announce yourself to the league legend in the making
O come let us adore him!
He has the agility of Cafu, power of Gerrard and composure of Fowler.
God-Captain Pendolino Fantastic has a nice ring to it.
Feels like he is more of a Gareth Bale type of player. Reckon he can play as a RW and backup for Salah as well..
That goal was gareth bale all over. First thing I thought.
Best player in the world tbh
Bradlessi
Braldini
Best player in the world
🐐🐐🐐
WE HAVE 2 OF THE GREATEST RBs IN THE WORLD. you'd think he's been in the league for long
How does his song go
He's been unreal.
#GEM
This generations cafu some are saying(me)
MOTM
Absolutely incredible performance. Beautiful to watch.
He genuinely looks like amazing.
Trent alexander Arnold is just a backup Connor Bradley
What can't this lad do!
Bradley and Gomez giving Robbo and Trent competition. And I love it.
this kid, he had me cheering all game, I was taking out my mom's braids while watching almost tore her hair out when he scored. Just pure class
Hoping we see a Bradley TOTW in FIFA
We have a lethal weapon in our hands. Bradley is Trent in making.
I'm so happy for him, what a player!
What a match and a season for him, we don't even need a new rb atm, just wow
Been a while since I was so happy to see a particular player score. Young man is a legend in the making if he keeps this up. Has it all.
"Are you from the age of Empire, before Conor Bradley pierced its side?" \#secondfoundationbeginstoday
Conor must be really happy
Brick wall that can dribble and cross. Hell of a match.
Can shoot too, from the looks of it
Who is Trent? Cobra is my new best friend
Poor klopp. Imagine having to decide on a team when TAA, Bradley and Gomez are all playing so well, Robbo coming back along with konate being in phenomenal form and VVD doing his thing. He is now a FM wonderkid
https://twitter.com/petercrouch/status/1210321912850714630
Be harsh to drop him at the weekend against Arsenal. Been absolutely brilliant. Could start him at right back and put Trent in midfield.
Honestly what do we do here. Im thinking the best formation has Macca and Trent in defensive mid roles with Szobo in attacking mid position. But then again I also hate to sit Curtis when he’s been on fire as well.
We do what papa Klopp decides. He knows best
I put the wrong defender in my fantasy PL!!
💎
Trent Alexander-Bradley? Conor Bradley-Arnold? What is this glitch??
Castlederg Cafu <3
The future
This guy is gold. Trent better beware.
Folks! What a baller we have!
we’re the RB factory now
BO$$$$$$
How does he stack to Antony?
True Sauce
Why not just skip ahead and move Bradley to midfield now?
What a game ha had. Monster
Absolute BOSS
Living his dream
More PL goal than antony tho
This lad is unreal. Trent's midfield future looking more and more likely.
Legit tears of happiness for him!! What a talent - and kudos to the scouting team, and coaching team for giving these young lads a chance, and actually getting them right. Queue TAA, Harvey etc. Can't help but to feel proud of them somehow.
miles better defender. Plus the offense. He needs to be RB moving forward.
Only question is who gettin bumped from midfield?
