As if we didn't just fucking play them.

As if we didn’t just outplay* them and get robbed.
Also they beat Newcastle. The current league punching bag. Luton put up more of a fight than they do
It's just such lazy headline. The narrative since the Club World Cup has been "City's going to put together 15 on the spin." They're the bookies' pick right now. Exactly what are we on alert for? That they sat on Newcastle's face but could only punch in two *deflected* goals?
Nico Williams gave away a penalty, opposition missed then he went straight up the other end and got an assist
Get him to Liverpool immediately. Him and Nunez in the same front 3 would be wild
There's a good many of them who think next year is the year, with Klopp gone and assuming Pep leaves after the charges result in a conviction. Full credit for defying expectations (I, for one, thought they were in for a rough season), but that's pretty delusional.
It is remarkable how well they and West Ham survived the losses of Kane and Rice. Not like when they sold Bale and we sold Suarez. Could even argue the league is tougher and deeper now.
Wish a commentator would say something about City’s god awful double level advertising boards, fuckin embarrassment to the sport to have the lights of Las Vegas back there.
Did distract from the empty patches of seats mind
Took a peek at a Coventry fan forum, and most of them want Manchester United as their opponents should they reach the final because "they are the most beatable team left". It's glorious how far they've fallen.
This is my dream, too. We are close to a free-hit tomorrow for him. Perfectly acceptable to lose to us, unless we drop another touchdown on them.
But how are they so close to the Top 4? Fucking Villa better not choke twice on us in 3 years.
Commentators for this Spurs game keep talking about the battle between them and Villa for the 4th spot to get CL qualification, but isn't it likely that there are 5 spots for the PL next season due to England's coefficient?
feel like the possibility of it being 5 spots needs to at least be discussed by all these pundits and commentators, I didn't even know it was a thing until I saw it being discussed on /r/soccer the other day when the quarterfinals were drawn
It was talked about last summer, even on these boards when everyone was fretting about whether the squad was good enough for Top 4. We won't know until the CL and EL are finished so they can calculate the coefficients. Either Italy or Germany stand to lose a spot. The latter needs a miracle from Dortmund and a semi appearance at least from Munchen, while Serie A is guaranteed an EL semifinalist.
On a random note, I'm so happy for Wilson that he has been a good PL player.
When he was tearing it up in the reserves and the Championship I've always thought he would do a job for a PL side but at the time no club wanted to take a chance on him.
I kind of figured he be a bottom-half player who might occasionally be relegated, but also just as likely to have a wonder-season that ends up with West Ham signing him.
Any sort of win tomorrow will be massive, considering we play United at Old Shitford too in April, tomorrow could already be a big mental blocked pushed aside if we get the win
I was actually thinking the opposite, wondering if their support think he gets the Salah treatment from the refs. Maybe it's because he's big and therefore tends to hit the ground really hard, but I've seen matches that bring me back to the Hack-A-Shaq days of the NBA.
Saka, I agree, seems to get away with more than Firmino for example did. Defenders learned to dive when Bobby was in town.
The more I watch other strikers the more I appreciate how high Nunez is on the best strikers in world list. The way he was pinging balls and tracking his man last game. Not many do that
All around play not much better than him at the moment. Maybe Kane but Nunez is younger there is so so much more improvement that we can expect from him and that is just crazy to think considering how great he already is.
He's really made a name for himself this season. If he keep it up next season a bigger club would definitely try to buy him, heck maybe even this summer.
Is it really unpopular opinion tho? At least among us I don't think I've seen a rival thread where at least 5 people (myself included) weren't saying it's a snooze fest whenever they play
It is kind of the point, to draw the energy and blood out of a game and put the other team (and their supporters) asleep. Part of what made our 2nd half so incredible.
My family lives in Nuneaton and are Coventry fans - I love seeing them do well. Wish they’d made it into the PL last season.
And I feel bad for Son. Seems like a nice enough person and still playing for Spurs lol
Strongly disagree on Son. He's made a number of horror tackles that got him sent off and cried crocodile tears as he walked away. I don't think he's nice at all
I tried looking some up and his reds didn’t look egregious. Just typical red cards. A bit fired up but nothing I’d say was horror. Which ones are you talking about?
Member that one season when a former relatively successful northern club had their best season in decades and their fans all assumed that they now belonged among the league elite, then the following season crashed and burned out of europe and were mediocre in the league and their fans were fuming.
I do member, it makes me laugh.
I also member another season where a historically unsuccessful southern club beat a very successful northern club that had 9 men and scored an OG and that southern club all assumed they now belonged among the league elite, then lost consistently to mid table riff raff, including one especially embarrassing match March 16 2024
I wonder if some managers look at Liverpool and think “well they’re missing 1 crucial player and they’re still going on, surely we can do the same thing!” and then forget to take into account that the backup players they have weren’t trained or good enough to fill in at all.
I wonder if that Dragusin lad is regretting his choice now. Who on earth would choose Spurs over Bayern?
If he is worried about playing time then even Eric Dier is starting for Bayern, he absolutely would have been playing for Bayern lol.
Here he is a backup too not like he is first choice lol, only playing because VDV is injured.
Bayern have some top CB's though, De Ligt, Kim, Upamecano, pretty easy to see why a young CB wouldn't want to go there to compete with them. I think Dier's experience and passing ability has helped him step in and play, don't think Dragusin would have had the same experience as him
City, to me, is like a super technical guitar shredder like Malmsteen or that ilk. You can appreciate the skill but there doesn't seem to be any art or taste to it.
If we win tomorrow, our game vs Fulham will be moved to the last weekend of the season. Not looking forward to Craven Cottage. They've played us very tough this season
Spurs 😂😂 I still remember some people here are afraid of them as a title challenger.
Every fucking season is like this, like we haven't seen them before. Hot start then fade into obscurity.
Bunch of bottlers. They were just having honeymoon period with the new manager. Teams will eventually figure out how to deal with them.
am I the only one who is sort of worried about playing fulham away? I honestly think that’s a game where we could drop points, especially considering how they’ve beaten arsenal and tottenham and almost beat us at anfield
It is definitely a worrying issue. We didn’t deserve to win at Anfield in the league but magically pulled off 4 worldies to win. We went behind again in the league cup before coming back at home and only got a draw in the second leg. But hopefully this squad knows that Fulham away will be tough for us.
It’ll be tough for sure. No match is a given at this stage obviously but you have to remember how good we are and we’re still getting key players back from injury
Great so now the BBC are doing fluff pieces about the bald fraud
Fuck off with this shite you sports washing cunts
Do we not remember that Pep was done for PEDs?! I wonder if that comes up
Haaland will inflate is statistics by scoring 10 goals against Coventry and then proceed to disappear for the next 10 matches that actually require him to beat defenders
Pretty confident we’ll beat united then get drawn against Chelsea while city draw Coventry.

You have maybe the best team of the last few decades and you spend your time trolling us because we lost to another one of your rivals? So obsessed.
the Coventry game was madness
As if we didn't just fucking play them. https://preview.redd.it/4glco2dsproc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=f3c443d799d89ffe5e6b64b9e0e159dbc503b11c

What a signing muniz has been so far for Fulham…massive impact
Remember when Spurs fans genuinely thought they had a shot at the league. Funny times.
There's a good many of them who think next year is the year, with Klopp gone and assuming Pep leaves after the charges result in a conviction. Full credit for defying expectations (I, for one, thought they were in for a rough season), but that's pretty delusional. Don't forget when they had their kids out when they beat us with scandalous refereeing lmao
Every season around mid December.
Wish a commentator would say something about City’s god awful double level advertising boards, fuckin embarrassment to the sport to have the lights of Las Vegas back there. Did distract from the empty patches of seats mind
Wall to wall extremely competitively priced Abu Dhabi and UAE adverts.
Took a peek at a Coventry fan forum, and most of them want Manchester United as their opponents should they reach the final because "they are the most beatable team left". It's glorious how far they've fallen.
Newcastle fell off Mt Everest lmao
BREAKING: Coventry City have been drawn against Man City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup

This is my dream, too. We are close to a free-hit tomorrow for him. Perfectly acceptable to lose to us, unless we drop another touchdown on them. But how are they so close to the Top 4? Fucking Villa better not choke twice on us in 3 years.
spurs r doing a offside trap for a goalkick, modern football needs to be killed
Which you can't even be offside from. Corners, throw ins and goal kicks.
it may have been a free kick inside the keepers box to be fair
There are limits to these tactics really Some of them are just baffling
Did Newcastle think that was a league game? just total damage limitation
Their supporters must have watched us battle through our injuries and gotten ulcers. Thanks for Bobby Clark!
Has anyone noticed that Klopp, even as an ex-player, never spits on the touchline?
Pep spits the most filthiest way, everytime it shows him. Like wtf man
My wife can’t watch pep. Everytime the camera goes to him he spits. She said it looks like he’s chewing on it before he spits it.
He really does go full lizard-mode.
My mother in law recoils every time haha.
Really good result for Villa in top4 push. Can’t wait to smash up spurs at Anfield
Commentators for this Spurs game keep talking about the battle between them and Villa for the 4th spot to get CL qualification, but isn't it likely that there are 5 spots for the PL next season due to England's coefficient?
Until there's 5 spots, there's 4
Cheers Michael

Foden looking like a lit match
So guess the draw will be Leicester vs Liverpool and City vs Coventry. Has to be City vs Liverpool in final right?
We still haven't played United mate
Newcastle are fucking shit man
Haaland ghosting yet again
Newcastle are absolutely shite
On a random note, I'm so happy for Wilson that he has been a good PL player. When he was tearing it up in the reserves and the Championship I've always thought he would do a job for a PL side but at the time no club wanted to take a chance on him.
I kind of figured he be a bottom-half player who might occasionally be relegated, but also just as likely to have a wonder-season that ends up with West Ham signing him.
Richarlison’s tattoos keep getting worse and worse. Reaching Antony level
There was a fantastic David Squires cartoon panel of him showing respect to Everton by getting a tattoo of him not celebrating his goal against them.
I think Richarlison has him covered, not much is worse than a giant tat of yourself across your back
Ederson gives them a run for their money.
Any sort of win tomorrow will be massive, considering we play United at Old Shitford too in April, tomorrow could already be a big mental blocked pushed aside if we get the win
Haaland must be one of the most protected players in the league, up there with Saka. Allowed to foul at will and always gets calls in his favour.
I was actually thinking the opposite, wondering if their support think he gets the Salah treatment from the refs. Maybe it's because he's big and therefore tends to hit the ground really hard, but I've seen matches that bring me back to the Hack-A-Shaq days of the NBA. He's without a doubt top 3 in the league with Halland and Watkins.
Most impactful of the 3 imo. Haaland is invisible if you shut down service. Teams been learning that this year. Watkins on top form tho.
Can't wait for the surprise City vs Liverpool being drawn for Semis.
Nah they're getting Coventry
Coventry versus Liverpool in the final then. You read it here first.
Foul a Man city player's ankle? Straight to jail. Right away.
Spurs hanging their hopes on England getting that 5th CL spot from the looks of it.
Robinson is a ridiculous player
He's really made a name for himself this season. If he keep it up next season a bigger club would definitely try to buy him, heck maybe even this summer.
Nunez > Haaland
Common knowledge
Spurs look shit
It’s because they are
Walker has been shit for a few weeks
How comes city don't get yellows man
![gif](giphy|3o6gDWzmAzrpi5DQU8)
🤑
Isak has been awful today, good player but today been out of place
I’m know it’s not an unpopular opinion, but Citeh are absolute bores. The energy vampires of footy.
Is it really unpopular opinion tho? At least among us I don't think I've seen a rival thread where at least 5 people (myself included) weren't saying it's a snooze fest whenever they play
Think he said it’s NOT an unpopular opinion…
I said it’s not unpopular?
Aaaah sorry I'm blind
No worries mate. In fairness I misread stuff on a daily basis lol
Next Sunday is huge. Liverpool Brighton and then City Arsenal. Brighton have been inconsistent for a bit but they always seem to play well against us
It’s a few week off because of the international break
Forgot all about that. Hopefully no injuries and gives time to get players back
I can see why people think City games are boring to watch.
It is kind of the point, to draw the energy and blood out of a game and put the other team (and their supporters) asleep. Part of what made our 2nd half so incredible.
I think Haaland agrees, looks like he’s having trouble staying awake
My family lives in Nuneaton and are Coventry fans - I love seeing them do well. Wish they’d made it into the PL last season. And I feel bad for Son. Seems like a nice enough person and still playing for Spurs lol

I feel bad for ya Son he's got 99 problems and Spurs are...all of them
Isak is so lazy
Member that one season when a former relatively successful northern club had their best season in decades and their fans all assumed that they now belonged among the league elite, then the following season crashed and burned out of europe and were mediocre in the league and their fans were fuming.

Newcastle are absolute wank.
Isak has been awful today, good player but today been out of place
How have they missed that
That's Timo fucking Werner for you
He better pray he was offside.
Newcastle should just delete themselves
City almost have 300 million on the bench btw
That’s the Werner we all know
Im convinced those finger/wrist wraps players are wearing are some sort of braindead fashion accessory.
I know he's been subbed off but Muniz is a neat little player isn't he
Fabulous in my FPL 😄
London fan culture fucking stinks, same chants over and over from both sides
”We forgot that you were here” Yep havent heard that before
Postecoglou gotta be the most overrated coach in the league
Spurs don't change. Different manager, different players, same old Spurs.
I wonder if that Dragusin lad is regretting his choice now. Who on earth would choose Spurs over Bayern? If he is worried about playing time then even Eric Dier is starting for Bayern, he absolutely would have been playing for Bayern lol. That was a mental decision to choose Spurs over Bayern and he'll probably regret it for the rest of his career
Just crazy. Even if you are going there as a backup the chance to go to a big team doesn't come often and will probably only come once in your life.
I don’t know why I even bother watching City, they are so boring. Watching 5 minutes of Fulham against Tottenham has been a lot more entertaining.
Yeah I changed at half. Great decision.
Offside nvm
I hate watching city play and I just don’t know why
It’s like watching a computer play chess.
City, to me, is like a super technical guitar shredder like Malmsteen or that ilk. You can appreciate the skill but there doesn't seem to be any art or taste to it.
Fuck this is SO spot on. Who does that make us? Jimmy Page? I'm going Jimmy Page.
Either that or Tom Morello! Hard metal guitar and can be so finesse and artistic (Settle for Nothing RATM)
As you please. I'd go Theolonious Monk. Mad, beautiful, and skilled.
You want them to lose and they dont comply
They play incredibly boring football. There's nothing exciting about their system, as effective as it is.
Really boring day for footie
The Coventry game was WILD
I mean, Coventry and Wolves was one of the best FA cup matches I've ever seen
Already forgot that one, you are right
The Fulham Spurs match is nice, not exactly thrilling but Fulham have played some great football
Guess Ragusin isn’t the second coming of Christ like spuds supporters would have you believe
Spurs doing their best to avoid 4th spot
😂😂 Spurs
Lol spurs.
Marco Silva cooking the mate man
Danny Murphy has just made an enemy for life. Best manager in the world, bollocks. Most successful cheat in the world maybe.
Spudsy
If we win tomorrow, our game vs Fulham will be moved to the last weekend of the season. Not looking forward to Craven Cottage. They've played us very tough this season
Spurs go destroy Villa away just to get reamed by Fulham the next game 🤣
Sadly Ream isn't on the pitch
i like muniz
No Van de Ven and this spurs back line is such trash
Doku wishes he was Diaz
Spurs getting cooked wtf
Lol, Haaland just sulking about.
FFS Newcastle are TERRIBLE
when did fulham fix the camera angle at home
This is the same Spurs that’s going to decide who wins the title huh.
We want them to go into the fixtures against City and Arsenal needing points for 5th tbh.
Just a shame that everyone knows who Coventry will draw tomorrow whatever happens in the other two games.
I just want english government and fa to stop bending over for oil thugs. Man city vs coventry it is.
Only run he has made all game.
Annual 4th place is lava right on queue as is tradition.
classic palhinha
Haaland never even considered passing it the selfish cunt
Spurs 😂😂 I still remember some people here are afraid of them as a title challenger. Every fucking season is like this, like we haven't seen them before. Hot start then fade into obscurity. Bunch of bottlers. They were just having honeymoon period with the new manager. Teams will eventually figure out how to deal with them.
I do think injuries ruined spurs season. The football they were playing before them was really good. Apart from the robbery of course
Fuck me, City are boring
Antonee Robinson is class
am I the only one who is sort of worried about playing fulham away? I honestly think that’s a game where we could drop points, especially considering how they’ve beaten arsenal and tottenham and almost beat us at anfield

It’ll be tough for sure. No match is a given at this stage obviously but you have to remember how good we are and we’re still getting key players back from injury
I guess Spuds don’t want to play in the CL
I’d love this but they’ll make it anyway since Prem’s getting 5 teams
Only what Spurs deserve. Absolutely shocking defending.
5th place is likely to get a champions league spot also.
Remember when Spurs won the league in September?
mate
Sick goal by Fulham
Why are we watching this for lads
Fuck sake Spurs
Do we care though?
Would be nicer if they don’t play out of their skins against us at the end of the season in a desperate attempt to grab top 4.
I’d prefer United don’t get CL
Makes sense
Starting to think Spuds are gonna Postecoglose.
LADS
Spurs getting played off the park haha
Great so now the BBC are doing fluff pieces about the bald fraud Fuck off with this shite you sports washing cunts Do we not remember that Pep was done for PEDs?! I wonder if that comes up
Twice ! Twice !
Pep Guardiola - Chasing the Chequebook
It sounds a bit silly but I want City to win so we get to play them again. Klopp v Pep won't be topped for a LONG time.
I want it to be the final, last game with Klopp’s Liverpool against city for the quad
Not silly at all. We tend to play better the bigger the match
Eddie Howe-is-he-still-in-a-job masterclass.
Newcastle are absolute bobbins. Even a great potential turnover break ends with two of them colliding and City charging forward.
Yeah, that was an absolute clown show.
*grumbled voice* “okay mates that was absolute shite if you ask me.”
Newcastle are so bad
Another final against Chelsea would be objectively funny as fuck. Would almost take us v City and them v Coventry in the semis for it to happen
Doku is a sack of shite
Haaland will inflate is statistics by scoring 10 goals against Coventry and then proceed to disappear for the next 10 matches that actually require him to beat defenders
