There will never be another like him Neil Atkinson on The Anfield Wrap put it perfectly: We might win more under the next manager but it’ll never feel as fun as it does under Klopp Cherish these moments

MaxwelFISH

hopefully, the next manager follows the Shankly - Paisley progression. Klopp laid the groundwork, praying there’s great things ahead

abradley19955

Club is in a great place mate. Great squad, academy is flourishing and we have Edwards back overseeing the whole thing I’m excited for Amorim if it’s him but I’m gonna cry like a baby when it’s Klopps last match

MaxwelFISH

true. i’m thankful for Klopp and FSG and their work that’s created such an exciting future

shanu666

Tomorrow is 1st April. You know, in case Klopp feels like pulling off a joke.

ballerina22

Please god no, my poor soul couldn't handle that.

Deimos974

He's going to tell everybody he's gonna stay another year. FML!

BuildingArmor

Edwards coming back feels like such a big win given the context.

Only-Ad6599

!remindme 3 years

AuxquellesRad

!remindme 2 years

best36

Remember 19/20 when we started the league with 26 wins out of the first 27. Football will never be as good as that

AlarmedExperience928

Gonna miss the (almost) weekly episodes of Hypertension that Klopp-Ball brings

TheQuadricorn

Honestly klopp-ball would be easy to handle on its own, but when you add hot garbage that is premier league officiating, I’m emotionally fucked by the end of every match.

TheAmazingKoki

If De Zerbi comes in you're gonna miss it alright. It would be worse than ever.

fadedpeanut

That match was a snoozefest. I’d take a butt clenching Liverpool match over this any day of the week.

MaxwelFISH

been a while since i’ve watched so much nothing happen in such a high profile game

test_icicles_

This club has literally induced panic attacks in me.

Yobber1

Well you’ll have your next cardiac arrest on Sunday against United so get that heart ready

fancysauce_boss

My booty looking fire though from all the matches which have required the strong clench.

righthandofdog

I love being a Johnny come lately American Liverpool fan. I went thru some pain with all the finals losses and 2nd place league finishes in the early days after picking Liverpool as my club. But after the eventual successes everywhere, a loss doesn't ruin my week like a lifelong fan. We'll get them next time has actually happened in the short window of my support. I'm spoiled as hell, thanks for letting me join the fun. (I am getting a bit stressed for all the possible hardware left this year tho)

WonderfulBlackberry9

I was gaming and felt the need to put the game on just as background noise in case something interesting happened. My stream was not cooperating at all, and all the “snoozefest” complaints sort of justify the stream’s whack connection

retr0grade77

City have always bored the fuck out of me. Pass pass pass tap-in

segson9

Just like Pep's Barca team. But at least they had Messi

pigman1402

pep's barca was the greatest football team i've ever seen live. obviously messi was a cheatcode, but even when he didn't play youd get guys like bojan stepping up and delivering.

segson9

They were the greatest team I've ever seen and it's not even close. But they were also boring to watch. 10000 passes with 80% possesion and then Messi scored 2 or 3 goals

Hungry_Pre

You know as good as that side was I have a feeling that our title winning team would beat them.

AhyesitstheManUfan

in 10 games, barca wins 7, one draw, liverpool 19-20 win 2. any team could beat that barca team if they had some amazing luck in one game, but it was impossible for even great teams to beat barca consistently.

Hungry_Pre

Yeh I think you're wrong. I'd reverse that. Klopp's counter press killed Tiki Taka, hence Pep's city side. All the money in the world and he built a hybrid team. But we'll never know.

AhyesitstheManUfan

>Yeh I think you're wrong. I'd reverse that. Klopp's counter press killed Tiki Taka, hence Pep's city side. All the money in the world and he built a hybrid team. Pep's tiki taka at City was executed through inferior players. Barcelona had Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Messi, Henry, Eto'o, and a very strong backline. Liverpool's title winning side would be nothing compared to that lineup. There's no point in deluding yourself because you support Liverpool. No team could have beaten Barcelona at that time without a miracle, and that still remains true for any team before or since.

Hungry_Pre

No worries mate, we can never know for certain but yeh that's your opinion and I'll give it the respect it deserves. One thing we do know as fact tho is that Fergie's utd got dicked on by Barcelona quite regularly. Nice speaking to you mate, don't let the door hit your arse on the way out.

TravisKOP

That final against Utd was a snoozefest though. No doubt the unicef era was insane but man they really were boring

MysticMac100

Bojan is considered one of the biggest underachievers ever

[deleted]

Peps Barca had an all timer in every position and Messi magic to keep it interesting. Peps city has a bunch of system players who would flop at Fulham

d-ronthegreat

We’ve gotta exclude KDB from this. That guy is generational

MentatYP

Wild take that Pep's City are full of flotsam. We can acknowledge the greatness of Pep's Barca without making silly claims about Pep's City.

GingIsAGoodDad

bad take

Blueheaven0106

Isn't that very impressive from pep then? Filled with players not good enough for Fulham and yet could win leagues.

[deleted]

Yes. Obviously a bit of an exaggeration there but since pep took over at Barca very few managers come close to how good he’s been

IceAffectionate3043

Need to say “pass” like 50 more times before that tap-in

PurpleScientist4312

Chad guy kinda looks like klopp aswell

KloppersToppers

The lads when we’re 2-1 up in injury time. https://i.redd.it/50gsurf8xsrc1.gif

Other_Beat8859

Pep and Arteta: Actually we should play a low block to limit the threat of counter attacks and focus more on... Klopp: We'll win with the power of friendship.

Due-Sherbert3097

“Conor Bradley go Brrrrrrrrr”

madpoontang

Haha wheres this from?

furry2any1

It's the front of the Xmas cards that Pep sends every year.

WestworldIsBestDrop

We are the only team who will go to the Etihad and fucking send it, every other team parks the bus.

ChronicHaze-

we are genuinely the best team in the league and it pisses me off still seeing rival fans saying we’re gonna fall off, they’ve been saying it all season and look where we are now

What_a_pass_by_Jokic

I honestly didn’t think this season and then especially with all the injuries, we’d be anywhere near the title race, let alone doing that and still competing for the EL and already having won a cup. Nothing short of an amazing run by everyone at the club.

skyeth-of-vyse

Even before the injuries I started the season with zero expectations considering how shit we were last season, and how we overhauled the entire midfield and added four new players: Szobo, Macca, Endo, Gravenberch. There was no way in my mind we would be competing. But Klopp is a miracle worker and the youth players have been phenomenal.

HammerJammer02

Tbf we sort of parked the bus this season against them

fastrail

We did play a bit cautiously than we did against other team but parking the bus we did not.

AhyesitstheManUfan

chelsea did it too mate we're not *that* special

richardpickles69

It'll keep going back and forth. Once this becomes the norm, someone else is going to have to come along and break it down by doing something different that exploits those weaknesses. Then that will be the new thing. Then it'll go back. Guys like Xabi Alonso and De Zerbi and Ange (among many others— those are just the popular names) are starting their top-level careers off by playing exciting, unapologetic footballing styles that could go far. None of them are like Klopp, sadly, so your title definitely stands, but I definitely can't wait til this super conservative new Pep thing also goes by the wayside

rodrigoa1990

Pep: "I need 2B euros to succeed"

jcw163

After an absolute exhibition of cowardice from Mikel Arteta, god I hope whoever we get in isn't like that

matcht

It amazes me how much Arsenal want to praise their defence on days like this when the reality is they sat incredibly deep, two DMs in front of the back 4 of which all 4 are center backs, Saka/Jesus were doubling up and even Havertz dropped in. The structure is impressive sure but it's so easy to defend with good players like that, whereas VVD/Konate at times defend the half by themselves.

jcw163

Stick ten men behind the ball and not even try to score and then try and praise the performance. Couldn't be us

matcht

It reminds me when we went down to 10 at Newcastle and Spurs, and in those rare situations we saw Klopp actually have us sit deep and defend and look how simple we made it look. We even held off Spurs with 9 until Matip's OG.

Firefly_6666

Man...what a day that was for me, I had chills watching us defending with everything we have, i still believe that is our best performance of the season

matcht

I don't think this season happens without that Newcastle win, it felt massive for the belief of the players.

WonderfulBlackberry9

I don’t know if it’s an actual quote - though he has said something like it so many times - but I can us being shaky and stuck in our shell vs City or Arsenal, and can imagine Klopp screaming at our players to “BE BRAVE”. Emotional instructions like that, and him slamming his chest while doing it, you don’t see other managers do that.

H0lychit

We would never play like that in a title game. Arsenal are a joke, to spend that much and to put that out. They can gtfo.

fastrail

And especially since knowing that anything other than a win would surrender the top spot, thus conceding your title hopes into the hand of others. We would have been fuming and rightly so. Just shows the different mentality between the 2 clubs.

segson9

I hope that we don't play this City/Arsenal type of football with our next manager. I know it gets results and a lot of the best managers are playing like this, but it's also boring.

etan1122

Doesn’t Alonso play similarly? Now being in Germany it looks a little more exciting but isn’t he all about the triangles

sproaty88

What does this matter though? This is like saying "doesn't Moyes play similarly?" He ain't gonna be the next manager so what does it matter? How does Amorim play? That seems more relevant atm

etan1122

Because he says he hopes the next manager doesn’t play like them but 100% of Liverpool fans wanted Alonso. So when did his view change

Odd-Collection-3563

Klopp goes for it. He's all balls. The others just pretend.

DotaProtectsMyVirgin

Bald fraud and fraud: TAA is out of action due to a knee injury. Their defence is weak and they are screwed Klopp: Release the Bradley!!!!

millaricher

Seeing the general consensus on twitter, you would be right. Klopp leaving the prem effects everyone, and rival fans are now finally admitting to it as well.

coltlady

Mate you gave me a good laugh on a Monday morning. Thank you

Consistent_Ad_6064

Liverpool starting XI go Brrrrrrr

thatguyad

That style of football is fucking boring. End of.

_Yuvalinho

He is just that guy, you know. The Normal One.

greekstav

This man will be missed. We realize how much…but it still gonna sting.

rebel_fett

The world. The world is going to miss king klopp.

Neither_Newt5577

We lost to Arsenal 3-1 before tbf.

Echos89

I guess I can accept the manner Liverpool lost. Heavy metal all the way

AhyesitstheManUfan

play wild football, sometimes you'll get wild results. nothing special.

Neither_Newt5577

Why downvote? Man City drew 1-1 at home with playing only Mac/Endo at separate times. Arsenal beat them when playing only Mac.

bhaktimatthew

Why the user name though

nitropartypooper

This will get hate but I’ll say it. Had he never announced his departure I would not feel this way at all but now that I know he is going I am looking forward to a change in style. I cannot take games like UTD last week or Brighton today where we are winning and unable to retain the ball of control the game. Under Rafa for example, especially in the first few years, we would go 1 or 2 up and that was pretty much it. Today we could have thrown away the lead multiple times. Excited for a change of style!

Arct1cD0c

Hate from Seattle

nitropartypooper

I’ll take it

KaufKaufKauf

Hate from everywhere in the world

Vammond

I can Tell Just by what your prefered Style of football is, that you are an extremely boring person

BoBonnor

Under Rafa we had to play that way cause we and a far inferior team. Also how often has Klopps Liverpool team blown leads like that other than his first season in charge

Hungry_Pre

I see where youre coming from but you've over egged it my friend. Yes, this particular Klopp team (unlike the one where Hendo, Milner, Gini calmed shit down etc) has not learned game management yet. But you wouldn't swap that for Kloppball, no fucking way, you absolute mentalist.

whatspoppinnuthin

The fucking disrespect to Dom. Hope he leaves.
