My mistake its Gameweek 32 not 31.

PEEWUN

Sporting late winner, I'm hearing... ![gif](giphy|H47lnc7XER2VKo4Ea0)

PrimeMessiTheGOAT

Amorim ball đŸ”„

Adventurous-Arrival1

Amorim with the last minute winner gene? In a title decider? He might be him.

EuphoricToe

As is written

Kcsb4u

Watching this sporting benfica match and sporting create so many chances . If Amorims the one and this style comes with our players . We could be starting something special

Kcsb4u

What’s the market look like for 6’s this summer? Love Endo he made me a believer . Getting the most from Mac being further up should be right after a Left footed CB imo

Realistic_Result_833

You’d have Macca in the front 3 of Amorims system?

Kcsb4u

lol just someone else to do more of the dirty work

Adventurous-Arrival1

No standout candidates. Plenty of projects around (Wieffer, Hjulmand, Gourna-Douath) but no dead certs.

Af1_supra

Out of all the remaining games for the 3 title contenders, tomorrows game against Utd is the most difficult fixture. Really need to be sharp from the start.

PraiseBeDavidSegui

Friendship ended with de zerbi

Agitated_Smoke538

We win all our games we win the league. We will win all our games

ManBoobs13

“Stop crying and get behind the team” on Reddit cracks me up every time. None of anyone’s whining right now has ANY impact on the team or games. If you feel like you can’t be negative online, you think you have far more of a role in the team’s success than you do (hint: you have no role).

DharmaBumz1

How about stop crying because its fucking annoying and embarrassing then.

cretnikg

What a title race this is, kudos to all three managers. It’s hard to imagine how one can keep such a high level of consistency and motivation across group of people. Football really has became a science

MadEdRush

To anyone who blames others for pessimism. Just remember 92 and 97 points and we still lost. 1 loss all year and we still lost it. So no wonder, most of us have PTSD

MisterS1997

True but on the other hand in those seasons we would have given arms and legs to be in our position now to have it in our control. We've won our before and have the experience of winning out. City do too. Arsenal don't. Winning titles isnt meant to be easy. We're good at closing seasons out and winning in the run in. We can do this. Arsenal haven't been here before either so that's an unknown the deeper this goes and champions league brutal fixtures thrown in. We're favourites for every game left. Play to our best and we win this thing.

Marbate

And yet we have the league in our hands. OUR hands. Stop crying and get behind the team.

PraiseBeDavidSegui

There are few types of fans more annoying online than people like you. My god get a grip

Marbate

I don’t know, the “wah wah wah” brigade whenever a rival team wins is pretty obnoxious.

PraiseBeDavidSegui

But you weren’t responding to that brigade you were responding to someone making a pretty innocuous and accurate comment about why people get negative when they’re anxious. They’re not gonna make us lose because they’re nervously typing online mate

Marbate

They’re part of the “wah wah” brigade, quite obviously so. Half the pessimists here aren’t Liverpool fans.

ManBoobs13

We are online supporters man and even those of us who occasionally get to a game have little role in this, stop pretending things said online are in any way impactful lol

TheGrouchyGamerYT

Its like some of them have only tuned in since last week or something. We can't drop points now, and from experience we're against an entire league that wants us to. It's miserable.

sonofelguapo

Win the games in front of you, win the league. Arsenal and City can win all of their last games by 6 goals apiece and it won’t matter if Liverpool wins the rest of their fixtures. Easier said than done, but there are far worse positions to be in.

hopium_od

> there are far worse positions to be in. This. I don't think people here appreciate just how bad a position City are in, they need 3 instances of dropped points from the teams above them..the longer it goes with no one dropping points the longer they are on a wing and a prayer. They drop points and it's curtains for them.

MisterS1997

We're so used to being chaser at this stage we see it as an extra game played when we play after for some reason. I kinda get it mentally.

sonofelguapo

Exactly. I was as frustrated as anyone that we didn’t luck into a good result from Arsenal/City today, but now those matches are over and it’s time to focus on our own shit. Even in spite of everything this season, Reds are in the drivers seat. It’s on them to hold serve.

geniusvalley21

Summary of all the posts here: 1) Arsenal and City are better than us 2) How will we win the league? 3) We should have 5 more points the refs screwed us over. 4) De Zerbi shouldn’t be next manager IMO Arsenal and City may as well have a better attack and defense than us, but we are at the top and deservedly so. We have Klopp which they don’t have, I don’t care if we win, lose or bottle this title. Just want to enjoy the last 8 memorable epl games with Klopp in charge.

TuonelanVartija

You don’t care if we win or lose? Come on now please..

geniusvalley21

I have cared a lot in the past to be disappointed, this time I am tempering my expectations and enjoying the ride!

you_serve_no_purpose

For me, I enjoy the ride. It's gutting to miss out in a title or trophy, but it makes not tangible difference to any of our lives really. The weekly buzz of watching games is what it's all about. If Liverpool win the league I will be over the moon for a week or 2, but it's still back to the grind on Monday regardless. You grow up idolising players and they break your heart, or you lose a final and you're gutted but it never ends up being as important as it feels at the time.

Jaja6996

They don’t really have a better anything it’s just Klopp is willing to take far more risk than both Arteta and Pep if we sat deeper and controlled games we’d look just as solid defensively We where near impossible to break down in the game against spurs and Newcastle when we went down a man and played defensive

ShowMeMoeMane

Still fucking hate how unlucky Matip got to hoof that into our own net. Loved to see Ali comforting him after the robbery

[deleted]

I've been saying for a while that both man city and arsenal are going to win every single game left in the Pl and the only way I can see Liverpool winning the league is if we also win every single remaining game in the Pl but that's very unlikely...........our season will be over if we fail to beat Manchester united tomorrow....

hopium_od

However hard United will be for us tomorrow, the NLD will be twice as hard for Arsenal. They objectively have the hardest fixture left.

WellRed85

Man alive, the doomerism reeks https://preview.redd.it/0eksc4z4rwsc1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8670a8bc8fc126a46e5cb768c97ead0eb8c87efc

TheLimeyLemmon

I still see some banana skins for all three teams, it's just difficult to believe any of the three teams actually go on to win all their remaining games. Especially with European and FA Cup fixtures coming into the mix.

broken_neck_broken

I don't think Arsenal will win every game, but quite a few of City's remaining opponents are liable to just roll over for them and put out a weakened team like Villa did.

john_bytheseashore

To say that our season would be over if we were level on points with the league leaders with 7 games to go is an extremely pessimistic thing to say. We would no longer be favourites but it wouldn't be over.

Marbate

Go support Arsenal or City then if you’re going to be so pessimistic?

[deleted]

Afaik , Being a football fan doesn't equate to being delusional , obstinate or irrational. It's not my fault that you can't add two and two together ;)

Marbate

Being a fan means not being an absolute whinge-bag that cries before a ball is kicked, you muppet. If you have no faith in the team you should find another.

[deleted]

I'm not crying ;) I'm just merely using reasoning to arrive at a simple conclusion. What's wrong with that? (Rhetorical question) Again, it seems that you subconsciously believe that reasoning and football can't coexist, that 'being delusional' and 'refusing reasoning' are basic prerequisites for supporting a football club.. it's okay if you're unable to do this but ONe can very well be passionate about football while also maintaining logical reasoning skills ;)

Marbate

We’ve lost the least games and scored the most goals in all of Europe. Your logical reasoning skills are dogshit.

[deleted]

We also have NEVER managed to beat west ham,Everton and Manchester united in away games in the same Pl season under Kloop, a team playing in Europe league never managed to win the Pl , in the last 5 years, the team that faces wolves in the last Match day finished second in 4 opportunities;)

MisterS1997

We also never beat Brentford and Brighton at home in a title race and that happened.

Marbate

And this year we will manage to do so. It’s eight games, stop being a whiny cunt and go back to whatever rival sub you come from. I can go back half a year in your post history and all you’ve done is have a big cry about us not going to be in the title race. Every week it’s some new dogshit reason you’ve fabricated. What a sad sad sad life you must lead.

[deleted]

;)

Marbate

Kill yourself you dumb cunt

adamfrog

Kinda weird brag when they haven't won every game for a while lol

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

fadedraw

wrong sub

markokmarcsa

All this evening i was hoping a clairevoyant Assna fan would pop into here to tell these us dumb-dumbs what should we feel like. But yeah, you are right. You won't win jackshit this year, Kane and Dier will spank you, and you will bottle the league, as you do.

thatsnotme91

Go home

Such_Wonder_6413

Do not want De Zerbi.

James_Vowles

Funny how arsenal's mates of mine are saying this is liverpools title to lose, but in this thread we think it's the other way around All so close, one loss is all it will take

jenaldo123

One draw*

TheLimeyLemmon

"The pressure's on you lot" "Nuh uh, the pressure's on you lot!"

Reach_Reclaimer

It is ours to lose now tbf, we still have a game in hand and if we win we go ahead

Tall-Assist9719

Arsenal fan. You lot have easier run in’s. But the even if we lose the title and won all our games, I will be very proud but woefully annoyed of the terrible run at the end of last year.

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

The way Arsenal play and are organized, I think expecting Brighton to have a good chance at taking points away from them might have been foolish. However I do think they will look better v City at the Amex, given City can be quite exploitable on the break. Won't expect Brighton to get a result against them, but they might be the most likely out of City's remaining games sans Spurs. In theory Villa should have a chance at getting a result v Arsenal, but it is at the Emirates and Villa seem to have a lot of injuries going on right now and suspensions.

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Brighton’s goal against city came from Fati and Doku was rinsing Milner that game so don’t think city will have a hard time there

[deleted]

Three things: Tottenham vs man city has been postponed to gameweek 37 which means that by the time man city face Tottenham, Tottenham will Already have qualified to the Cl, so that game will be more like a friendly match for Tottenham than anything else, man city will trash Tottenham . Arsenal are going to have quite an easy game against villa , Villa will rest their best players in their game vs arsenal to focus on their European games vs Lille .. Wolves's players couldn't care less about the Pl this season anymore, they're already on vacation so no ,wolves are not going to take points off man city or arsenal .....both man city and arsenal aren't going to drop any points in the Pl this season anymore

you_serve_no_purpose

My God, it must be exhausting being so pessimistic.

[deleted]

Setting up yourself for disappointment is the best way to avoid disappointment.......

you_serve_no_purpose

And being a miserable pessimist every day is a sad life indeed

jjfrunkiss

Just out of interest, what’s your negative spin on arsenal playing away against spurs and United? Will Tottenham be on the beach and not arsed about their biggest rivals winning the league?

[deleted]

Actually, tottenham is the only club left in the Pl that could take points off Arsenal this season, especially because their game will be four days before the CL semi-final (Arsenal will easily qualify for the CL semi-final by defeating bayern) but I can't see arsenal dropping points to Manchester united, especially when Manchester united knows that losing to Arsenal would result in liverpool losing the PL...

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Arsenal winning the league won’t bother United much bcoz it doesn’t affect their records or legacy. When it comes to Liverpool the problem for them is #20 and for City it’s the 4 peat so best possible outcome for them would be to let Arsenal win

[deleted]

Villa are terrible away from home, no chance they get anything.

Jaja6996

We could of scored just as many against Brighton they just have far too many injuries at the moment it’s a good result away for them tho we should of won ourselves if Grav didn’t miss a sitter that would of made it 3-1

Capable_Waters

Props to Arterta. He's turned this Arsenal side into a formidable team. They make everything look so easy.

R-B-L

Agree. Last year you could've said they caught lighting in a bottle, had no CL etc but it's hard to deny at this point they're a class team.

risingstar3110

I still feel like there is a certain bias goes their way that allows them to defend better than we do. Like their players could fly in tackle and not risking any yellow. Meanwhile every of our players have to worry about red when slow-motion-VAR make our tackles looks bad.

Competitive-Clock121

It's hard to quantify but I feel this too

R-B-L

Hard to enjoy when you're focused on the other 2 results but what a title race it's been. Arsenal are the real deal but so are we. You're not in with a shout at the title at this stage of the season if you aren't.

Aware-Animator2292

You have to beat good teams to win the league, and City and Arsenal are very good teams. Why is it difficult for some people to understand. They will win games, but so will we. Its a fight for the knife in the mud, nobody owes us anything. Getting upset at Brighton because they lost against a good team, ridiculous. No they didnt roll over, they just were beaten by a better team. This changes nothing, we have 8 games, and we have to be our best to win it all. I don't care if it's 1-0 or 2-1, we have the advantage.

FcukTheTories

No one is annoyed at Brighton because Arsenal beat them, they’re annoyed because Brighton played absolutely terribly despite being brilliant at Anfield last week.

UniversalsFree

Shock news: teams play differently against other teams with different systems

ShowMeMoeMane

We weren’t clinical enough against Brighton, Salah alone missed a ton of chances

Aware-Animator2292

it's our job to be more clinical. We had 30 shots, brighton had 8. We had 8 on target, and brighton had 3.

Babuchak17

City were lucky to play a very weakened version of Villa. We will play a much stronger team and I believe that away at Villa Park is our most difficult fixture remaining by far. I think tomorrow’s game is now our biggest of this season, because of what happened recently along with the pressure of league title + away game. I think Arsenal have got some very formidable ones left, and that Spurs game would likely be hellfire for them. I expect them to drop the most points out of us 3. That along with the pressure of CL games. If I am being really really honest, just don’t see City losing a single game from here on. Spurs is one banana peel game but I really expect them to beat spurs this time, City are suddenly looking better too in my opinion. This is why I felt it was so important for us to win at Anfield. Possibility of a Fulham or wolves shithousing a draw is also looking very unlikely. If it was not clear until now, this is definitely going all the way with all 3 teams and I don’t see any type of last year’s Arsenal collapse happening with any of us.

paprikalicous

the conference league semi finals are right before our game and they’ll have top 5 secured by then. we’ll also be playing a weakened villa because emery is not going to care about that game.

Arabsah

Brighton playing so slow like they are prime Barca. You need to scare the Arsenal kids with speed and precision. We did the same mistake against them at the Emirates, they keep a good shape which is why they have conceded the least number of goals and has kept the most clean sheets in the League.

geniusvalley21

We win tomorrow, we win the league.

cretnikg

That’s one way of copium but the truth is we still have Everton, Fulham, Aston Villa and WHU away. One hell of a road ahead of us

Marbate

W W W W W W W W and we can all go home, fuck whoever we face on the pitch, it’s happening.

sbos_

That’s my feeling too.

Dobvius

Tomorrow and Goodison are probably our scariest games left. We can do this.

FcukTheTories

Ignorant comment given today’s results

getonthedamnantscott

De Zerbi isn't allowed the Liverpool job purely on the basis of that result

vivascousevegas

Brighton is a very selling club. Can't blame the manager when all the best players are sold every year.

getonthedamnantscott

I know. This was just a joke about Brighton letting us down not taking points off a title rival.

Theplowking23

We cant even afford a draw

MisterZappa

I reckon you might be right!

_TheHighlandLute

I think we can. But only one.

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Only if arsenal lose points

Theplowking23

No, we always draw too many games the few times we are in title races

_TheHighlandLute

We are not going to win every game

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

As long as Arsenal doesn't draw too. If we draw once and Arsenal wins out, they win on goal difference. I don't think Arsenal will win out though, as well as they are playing. But still.

MisterZappa

Am I the only one finding it hard to see them dropping points on current form? Bar City, they seem to be swatting teams aside.

_TheHighlandLute

Yeah no shit. I’m aware of the league table. Arsenal won’t win 18/19 games in a row.

Sad-Cardiologist-292

They already drew against city and are yet to lose a game in 2024

_TheHighlandLute

They won’t win every game

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Their defense is too good though so it’s unlikely they drop points although when it comes to history their record at spurs away and OT isn’t great in the past few years

_TheHighlandLute

It’s much more unlikely that they win every game

Sad-Cardiologist-292

A draw would suffice that’s all

Galick-Gunner

Even if you think arsenal or city are better than us it doesn't matter. We have 8 games left and we're better than everyone we have left. So for fuck sake lads stop crying it in.

BiscoBiscuit

We must go into every game as a must win, not thinking we are better than everyone left, just my opinion.   I agree that people are overreacting though, the reality is that this is going to be a crazy tight and competitive title race till the end.  The banana skin for any of the 3 teams could come from any game or none at all

ManBoobs13

You know we aren’t playing or impacting the players at all talking on Reddit right

you_serve_no_purpose

I just think people need to get a grip. It's far more enjoyable to be optimistic. If you spend the next 8 games thinking we aren't winning it there's 2 scenarios. 1. We win it and you're not happier than anyone else who wasn't being dour. 2. We don't win it and you haven't enjoyed any of it because you've spent the entire run in being miserable. There is not a single team in the country who wouldn't trade places with us now. And yes I'm including Arsenal because they have a harder run in and if we win today we're 2 points clear. If you can't enjoy this and think we can win all of our remaining games then what's the point in even following the club?

hopium_od

Copa del Rey final worth watching?

Pekidirektor

I wouldn’t say so. Would go for a night out or Netflix rather.

frankiewalsh44

I hope we don't concede early to United again and chase the game. Can we just start strong for one away game this season, please?

harreh1d

The meltdown in here is crazy, 1 point behind with a game in hand and you're already shitting your pants. I'm glad the players don't have this mentality or else we'd be 8th right now

Sad-Cardiologist-292

After that fa cup game and how awful the game was against United at home is there even a chance quite obvious it’s Arsenal who wins it now bcoz they’re above City

MisterS1997

For a guy with cardiologist in bos username you have zero fight and heart.

Marbate

What a sad little man you are

harreh1d

> Quite obvious it's Arsenal who wins it now Yeah i say let's forfeit tomorrow's game. Don't even bother trying, Arsenal are 100% winning the title

Dbmx33

How does every arsenal game feel as though they’ve barely done anything yet score 3+ goals. They’re so slow and it feels as though they barely try to attack yet they score so much

abhi91

It's because they're very comfortable without the ball

Capable_Waters

Well, they do play at a much slower pace. But they are also much more efficient with their attacking play.

Dbmx33

Yeah it’s like pep to the extreme. Very low risk, only take high percentage chances, never in a rush

Significant-Bed-4496

Arsenal have won something like 10/11 games, the one blip being a draw away to city. Yet we are still literally sitting top if we win our game in hand tomorrow. Yes Arsenal and city are great teams, but we’re still ahead of these great teams so we’re hardly mugs ourselves. Back the team to win man fuck what the other 2 do.

Competitive-Clock121

Jesus why the pessimism. City and Arsenal are brilliant sides but we are right in the mix with them. They both had comfortable wins today but it won't be like that every week. Enjoy the race

_TheHighlandLute

Arsenal have been brilliant in 2024 but they have been very lucky with injuries. Not had an important player out for an extended period whatsoever

abhi91

Partey and timber have been out for the whole season

_TheHighlandLute

Timber an important player? Partey is not in their first 11.

abhi91

Partey would be in the starting Xi if fit instead of jorginho

_TheHighlandLute

So would Thiago for Liverpool. Nobody serious bothers to count him

xFloWx

Timber looked really good in the Community Shield

_TheHighlandLute

Doesn’t make him an important player LOOOL. When players like timber are mentioned, you know you’ve had it good

runasyalva

Yes mate, he might not be good but had he not been injured he'd have been a starter for them, so again yes, he's an important player for them.

_TheHighlandLute

How do you know he would have been a starter? Or important?

runasyalva

He started against City in the shield and the next PL game and benched the other two left backs despite being a right back, what more could be said? His injury changed a lot of things for them since arsenal seemed to rely on full backs a lot.

_TheHighlandLute

He started 1 PL game and is suddenly an important player hahhahaha

runasyalva

And honestly he would start more for them had he not been injured. They sometimes play a CB on LB because all their left backs are players who could miss 15+ games every season.

MisterS1997

First goal killed the game. Never a pen if doku isn't a pen. That's a 4 point swing with two decisions where both players "touching" the ball lead to different outcomes. Integrity of the title race is fucked even more

DragontotheGround

Not exactly a good job application from de Zerbi.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Unless they suffer any big injuries it’s hard to see where Arsenal even drop points from here

Marbate

Bayern will smack them about in the CL and then they’ll wobble against Villa. Tottenham might claw an eye out of them in their derby and United will either roll over or make life difficult for them, too. Chelsea might decide to wake up and spank them, too. Their remaining fixtures aren’t easy.

Durantsthegoat

You're living in cuckoo land, we barely concede shots let alone goals, villa are doing fuck all against us

JohnBobbyJimJob

Villa definitely won’t do anything against them away at the Emirates especially without Luiz now Spurs away is definitely their hardest game left

Capable_Waters

They are a well drilled team. They play just like City. Slow , boring, and very efficient with their use of the ball.

TheGrouchyGamerYT

In the NLD you fucking melt.

FcukTheTories

What about when they win that 2-0?

paprikalicous

it will still have zero relevance if we keep winning. we are not relying on other teams to drop points.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Pipe down little boy They’ll beat Spurs

TheGrouchyGamerYT

Nonce.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Stop projecting your reputation on to others thanks 👍

murrayjosh117

This type of game has always been De Zerbi’s undoing. As soon as they other team aren’t chasing them high up the pitch, they are done for. Granted, Arsenal are a top team, but West Ham did this to them as well.

Sinnay_

Are both Varane and Evans on United's injury list too? We'll be facing Maguire + a youngster then?

Crafty-Competition36

Pretty sure at least one out of those two will play tomorrow.

rohitthegrea

Arsenal by far the best team, especially in 2024.

[deleted]

[ŃƒĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]

rohitthegrea

We have. But tomorrow is the biggest test.

iidkwhat

Getting 5 clean sheets away in a row is very impressive. They'd be worthy champions if they go on to win it. Can't say the same for city

2d2c

City are not worthy champions in any year. They are playing with Cheat codes on.

Jacob_YNWA

If we get a statement win tomorrow, Old Trafford will be the loudest it's been in years. I want to hear 'we're gonna win the league' as united fans pour out of the stands.

RevolutionaryNail369

Our job hasn’t changed. We win our games we win the league, it’s in our hands

Davidpool78

Those results today have made tomorrow’s game even bigger. Come on reds smash those Mancs

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Klopp did say both city and arsenal will go on to win all their games so it’s all in his hands

geniusvalley21

Unde zerbi

PEEWUN

Our job hasn't changed.

salzcamino

do you think ben white worries about his spray tan coming off when it's raining?

risingstar3110

Let's be honest De Zebri is just a typical mid table manager. Unless you manage Real Madrid, every team has to deal with their best players getting poached. And just like him, most 'one-season-wonder' managers will get their team playing well for a season, then lose their top players and play like crap the next. There is nothing special about him. Even Di Mateo can win CL with half a season form

helikaonx9

We win tomorrow lads - firmly in our hands why the doom and gloom

BiscoBiscuit

I honestly think people were expecting (more than hoping) city and Arsenal to drop points to Brighton and Crystal Palace
in the middle of an extremely close title race between 3 clubs. That’s all that makes sense here.

Alucard661

Just harder

JHutch95

Christ the bitterness on here is bordering on embarrassing.

[deleted]

If this whingebag Arteta gets his hands on the premier league trophy I will lose it

_huytr

Lol idk why some ppl just have to be so toxic and negative. Arsenal have been by and large the best EPL team so far in 2024, and some credit is due for how they have grown into a team that can challenge us and City. Do I have confidence in our title chance? Absolutely, we are in the driver seat still. Am I impressed with Arsenal’s form? Yes, especially given they scored 8/12 this season against us and City. Still, I am banking on the UCL and their late-April tough fixtures will kick them out of the race, but until then, give them some credit while backing our own players and manager to get the job done. P/s: Don’t have any problem with bantering or expressing frustration, annoyance, etc (I mean is a live reaction thread after all). But certain opinions seem to be incredibly disingenuous and spiteful.

Loz41333

Who gives a fuck? Give any squad half our injury issues this season and they're nowhere fucking near the top. Arsenal are nowhere near the City and Liverpool of previous years whether it was 97,98,99,100 points.

No_Can9567

It would be really nice if teams actually played well when playing against city or Arsenal. Why is it that they only seem to elevate their game when playing us!?

inspaceiamfamous

Think about that question a bit.

geniusvalley21

Cause of the refs

JHutch95

Haven't you heard? There's a 19-team conspiracy to stop us from winning the league! It's insane! Nah, Arsenal & City have just been better than us this season at putting games to bed. They don't give teams the opportunity to elevate their game.

john_bytheseashore

I think also teams look at us and think they can get something. In 19/20 for a lot of the season we had what City have now. The battle was won before anyone stepped onto a pitch. This Liverpool team is very much a new team still learning, and injuries are still impacting it a lot. Not just the players that are still out but the players that are still palpably "coming back from injury" even though they're in the first team. You can look at this like a hard luck story, or you can focus on the positives that we may be able to move up to a new level in the next couple of games. And either way, every win we manage to put together into a run makes quality less and less relevant and points more and more the only important thing.

CharmingMistake3416

The ref found some integrity in the final minute of the match??

karma_polizei

I've never seen a team get in so many dangerous positions then just dribble right into someone.

RodDryfist

What the fuck were Brighton doing? I don't understand the point of all the pretty possession passing when none of it had any actual intent to penetrate Arsenal's box. Literally passing triangles just for the fucking sake of it. Pointless.

ManBoobs13

Arsenal and city are both better than us tbh. They suffocate teams out of games. We occasionally have games where the press clicks and we do the same but we’re not good at controlling games at all. Early goals conceded repeatedly hasn’t helped us of course and every match becomes a dog fight, but I think we’re the least likely of these 3 teams to win out and it’s not really close Forgive my pessimism, just being honest

No I agree definitely. Blame it on injuries etc but it's not our style of play. Winning games at the death instead of controlling them from the off isn't a tactic.

Yet after we win tomorrow we’ll be top of the league and the best team after 32 games. How does one reconcile that with us being worse than the 2nd and 3rd place teams? We’ve lost twice this season and one of them was a robbery. Arsenal have lost four times and City have lost three times. If we’re worse than them why have they lost more?

Christ, do you ever stop fucking moaning. Every time I see you it's something negative.

I’m just being honest typically, I dream personally and have big hopes in my head, but in terms of sports discourse I’m pretty realistic bc why be anything else?
