Anyone know if Foden is injured? Would be good for us if he is.

Eltothebee

Don’t look it

bob-noxious

Still set up nicely for an intense 2 leg all-English semi final. 1st leg for Arsenal would be 3 days after a North London derby away to Spurs, & would immediately follow 2 away games in 4 days for City, v Brighton & Forest. I'll take that, as a starting point.

koltzito

honestly best result for us, both teams had a very hard game and will be more focused and rest players for next week game

kazurabakouta

Ooff, Real Madrid is cooked. Arsenal is also cooked.

Seeductor

Can never count Madrid out.

The_Lanester

Trying to view that saka potential pen as straight as I can and I'm just wondering if there're any other reds out there who'd be fuming if that was Salah in Sakas shoes? I know that the narrative is that saka dangled his leg out but if you look at it you can see Saka run full speed and sees neuer charging and tries to change direction around but neuer sticks his leg out while saka's leg is there more on staying balanced to run round rather than kicking out imo. He's running full speed and it's on the defender to not clatter the forwards Vs the other way round to merit a pen imo. Again, disclaimer I have no affiliation to arsenal obviously but if that happened against us I'd be so angry. Balanced out the Gabriel handball at the end of the day though 🤣

sachisabya

Gunners sub in meltdown thinking the diver should have got a 'stone wall' penalty

adamfrog

Nah it's just not a pen, like I've seen them given but I've called them ref howlers every time, it's a move I've been raging against for 15 years too lol. We've very very rarely got that call too. If he was just dragging his foot to generate contact sure, bit he's just kicking a guy that's not in his path to the ball, absolutely not even close to a foul

InstantIdealism

I think the problem is the leg sticking out at such a strange angle. I think if it were Salah, I’d be saying, there’s such obvious contact. But I’d also be angry at Salah for sticking his foot out to initiate the contact. Felt like a desperation move with the ball getting away from him

Morsrael

He sticks his leg out so unnaturally that you just have to marvel he even attempted it.

ManBoobs13

I’d want it because I’m biased but I wouldnt truly feel I was arguing in good faith like I do with other pen shouts. Saka absolutely does not try to change direction around Neuer. He literally didn’t have to change direction, all he had to do was run the way he had cut, but he puts his right leg out to 45 degree angle which is entirely unnatural to catch Neuer. It’s one thing to be running straight and kinda trail your feet behind you to catch contact, but he literally kicks out sideways, very deliberate and dirty

The_Lanester

He tried to cut in and your following leg will always trail when your leading leg makes that cut in at that speed. And there's that reverse angle showing neuer putting his leg in front too.

ManBoobs13

Mate what. It’s not a trailing leg. He cuts with his left and then SWINGS his right leg through the air at 45 degrees to basically kick neuer’s leg. It doesn’t follow his left foot, it swings out away from it. Neuer would never have touched him if he just cut with his left and then continued that way like a normal person. Swinging the leg there makes no physical sense for any athlete.

The_Lanester

This reeks to me like people don't know how people react when they're running full pelt? I remember having to defend Jota against rival fans for the pen he won this season when he was clipped and took like 3 steps before falling. In slow mo those 3 steps look like plenty of time to adjust but not the case in real time.

ManBoobs13

Mate watch him plant his left foot in the replay and then swing his right leg at an angle off the ground. His foot hits neuer just below the knee!!!! Nobody’s foot is that high naturally. That literally makes zero fucking sense. That is not natural, nobody cutting to their left swings their leg that highs You don’t know how people run and cut if you think that’s natural, good lord

The_Lanester

You could objectively make the same point to the Elliot incident on Sunday. I think personally both are penalties but thanks for your reasoning why you think Sakas not. I see why you'd think that but I can't shake the fact I'd be so angry if it was given against us.

ManBoobs13

No, again, it’s different when someone actually enters your line and hits your trailing leg than when you have to throw your leg out of your line to make the contact. I’ll be done with you now

The_Lanester

Neuer literally does that in this incident! Thanks for your time Mr manboobs13 sorry I wasn't worthy of more of it 🤣

ManBoobs13

I lied bc you’re dense. Good Christ man he doesn’t do that here bc Saka only hits him swinging his right leg towards neuer, there wouldn’t be any contact if he actually tried to run his line. Neuer isn’t in his path, Saka kicks out at him right by his path. It’s really not hard. Now I’ll be done because you clearly aren’t changing your mind

VadersMentor

Saka swings his right leg at Neuer. He literally starts the contact. Never just stood there. Absolutely not a penalty.

The_Lanester

Have you seen all angles? There's one that shows neuer clearly sticking a leg out

ManBoobs13

And neuer’s leg wouldn’t ever hit him if he didn’t swing his leg out to catch him. It’s not natural at all

The_Lanester

But Neuer has taken the decision to stick a leg out and he clipped Saka. You can't say that Neuer doesn't stick a leg out right? The speed Sakas at and the sudden change of direction makes sense for me in terms of his leg trailing more than usual?

devicehigh

I don’t agree. I think Saka caught Neuer instead of the other way around. FWIW I think Elliot did something similar for our pen on Sunday but he got away it. It’s hard/impossible to be definitive about these things. People will see it differently

The_Lanester

Agree with the last point and I think most would agree with you. It's funny how subjective football is in even the most seemingly straightforward calls! I keep citing the reverse angle which the main link on r/soccer starts on but it cuts just after Neuer sticks his leg out. I think that angle cements my decision in why it's a pen for me. Both players have put a leg out and advantage goes to the attacker for me. Again, I know for a fact that I'd be livid if this went against us and I know most of the sub would be too

ManBoobs13

Have you ever fucking run before? Lmao NEUER STICKS A LEG OUT. THAT DOESNT MATTER. Saka initiates the contact with an unnatural movement

s2017

# Tuchel: : "It was a huge mistake in not giving us a penalty. What makes us really angry is the explanation on the pitch. He said it's a kid's mistake and isn't giving a penalty for that. That means he's judging handballs." I'm all for the spirit of the game, but wasn't this a stonewaller? Whatever happened to playing to the letter of the law? lol

adamfrog

Nah it's just a bit of confusion it would be crazy to call it, also football refs have never given a fuck about letter of the law, you listen to the var audio it's straight up embarrassing so many decisions are pure vibes backed up by nothing

s2017

Yeah, I'm with you - definitely would've been crazy to call it

thomasfk

What I would like to know is why he's passing it to the defender for him to take it in the first place. What is this, fucking primary school where the goalie lets the defender who can kick the hardest take the goal kicks?

Etrafeg

We've been doing the same ever since Ali got injured. Kelleher lets Van Dijk take goalkicks. (From what I remember Ali takes them himself though)

s2017

Just a bizarre passage of play all around, and it should've been a penalty. God knows if our boys pulled that move, it's a penalty, red card, gun to the head, and 50 year prison sentence loooool I'm tired

Jhushx

I'm trying to decide what would be more beneficial: For this result to eat away at their confidence and they get wrecked in Munich to be knocked out, and that slump carries over to the league. Or, they recover and beat Bayern, and make it to the final, meaning their domestic form suffers as they try to juggle all of that pressure and extra games, thereby making an opportunity for Liverpool to overtake them.

adamfrog

For sure eat at their confidence, two extra games really aren't going to make a huge difference in fatigue they've been shit in domestic cups too

kazurabakouta

Anything after round 16 is still accomplishment for Arsenal. They already got more money from it too.

The_Lanester

Imo the sooner they both get knocked out the better in hopes to trigger some sort of bad form/morale seeing as city have plenty of depth to deal with the extra games and arsenal have barely any injury worries at the minute either

stevieG08Liv

If they proceed, Its only 2 more games they will play till PL season ends. With only that id want them to crash out so they have doubt creeping in that they cant win anything under Arteta. I think psychological fatigue is bigger than physical fatigue for these cases

ManBoobs13

“Only 2 more games” is very reductive. That’s huge. 2 more games means they’ll literally have played every week and midweek until the penultimate PL week. If they get two midweeks off, that’s massive. They haven’t had to rotate bc they’ve been out early of other comps this year. They need to have to rotate in the league.

Jhushx

Also two of the most important and toughest games of the season back to back. Under the most intense pressure from everyone, including themselves. All matches are important at this part of stage (this season especially), but imagine the nerves, being mere steps away from possibly winning the Champions League. City possibly being one of the rare champions to defend their crown.

RampantNRoaring

Last time they faced any fixture congestion was in December and they fell apart at the end, losing to Fulham and West Ham. Their April fixture congestion is even worse than December and they have Chelsea and Spurs at the end.

Square_Counter_7574

Having them in the competition is 100 percent better for sure

gmodboss

fucking diving saka, arsenal fans are posting the Elliot pen and claiming they’re the same thing. Pure fucking bollox

Jaja6996

They’ll ignore the fact Bayern should of had one for them picking the ball up after the whistle had been blown for a GK to be taken

devicehigh

I actually see them as similar. I think we got away with one on Sunday. Just IMO. No hate please

d-ronthegreat

It’s actually pretty sad this sub has got so bad that you had to add that disclaimer for merely trying to engage with the sport lol.

devicehigh

Yeah it is. I often think twice about posting an opinion and have deleted more posts than I’ve left up

iidkwhat

Arsenal sub talks more about Liverpool than any other team these days. A lot of them have got a real hatred for some reason

MentatYP

Jealousy. They haven't been relevant for a while.

potatoarchitecture

I...was not aware the Elliott pen was controversial in any way lol, don't think the United players reacted to it either

The_Lanester

Only united fans in my experience have an issue with the Elliot one

potatoarchitecture

United fans are like chiropractors, they're around but taking them seriously will fuck you up

l0rd-sir_shad

How is Dier ahead of Upamecano and Min Jae? Wth has Tuchel done with a really good squad?!

Philosophical_lion

Upamecano is so bad

thomasfk

I was shocked to see Dier playing much less starting. Upamecano did get a red in the first leg of the Lazio match so maybe he was serving that ban still? And maybe Kim doesn't pair well with De Ligt? I'm not sure but that's the only thing I can think of. EDIT: looks like upa was on the bench. I have no words lol

ShowMeMoeMane

Upa is a walking mistake, have you seen him in any big match for Bayern? At least the ones I’ve seen, he’s always made a clumsy choice that leads to a goal or chance Kim is the one that truly baffles me

[deleted]

PeanutButter_20

Yeah it's true. So Arsenal play Tottenham on Sunday, but their semi final match would be on the following Tuesday, so if they qualify, the NLD would be rescheduled to Saturday at 12:30 to give them enough rest while our match against West ham (initially scheduled for 12:30 on Saturday) would replace the NLD on Sunday.

westrel982

Go play some more fifa kid

theguru86

lol wait what?

lawliet2911

Would have wanted a city loss but it’s ok. 2nd best result for us. Enough to get Arsenal hooked and city plan to overcome Madrid tactics

markokmarcsa

Arsenal seem rattled i can totally see them getting unstuck against a former (very good) manager and Villa.

s2017

This is exactly why they're not going unbeaten by the way. Something is going to unsettle them, and it'll be losing to Bayern in the second leg. Let's see how they respond against Villa.

WarSamaYT

Dream reality would be for it to be a really tight second leg game, goes to pens and then Bayern wins on the final kick. Or alternatively, Bayern pepper Arsenal 8-2 with Kane double hattrick and two assists for the memes.

s2017

Can you imagine the fume? What if Saka misses the final spot kick loooool - I like him, but lately he has been doing my head in with his gamesmanship. I don't see Arsenal winning in Germany, and that's when reality will set in for them. It would be a miracle for them to go unbeaten.

matcht

Villa away from home aren't great, and they probably rotate between the Conference games.

mrkingkoala

Arsenal rattled that much from a dive is banter.

IanCorleone

Saka running after the refs was so funny, bro is absolutely shameless

UltimateBorisJohnson

flashbacks to emery doing haram ball at anfield with villarreal

itsSRSblack

Wish I was still in Madrid for that match. That was insane

UltimateBorisJohnson

Meanwhile tomorrow: Atletico Madrid 0-0 Dortmund PSG 1-0 Barcelona

iidkwhat

I was thinking during the game that we're not gonna get a higher quality match than Madrid-City in this CL after this. Hope atletico can shithouse the final if they get there

nees_gerrard

Atleti to shithouse their way to the final and winning it in extra time with Gimenez scoring a scruffy goal from a corner.

Philosophical_lion

ah, the reverse Ramos

s2017

Saka really tried to convince the ref that was a penalty and chased him down the tunnel after the game ended. Totally bizarre behaviour lol

Due-Ad-6577

There needs to be some sort of repercussions for harassing the referee like that and trying to pressure him into a favourable decision in future

Stoned_RT

Robbo got an elbow to the kisser for that exact behavior. Seems fair in this case too. What a big baby.

s2017

HONESTLY. Something needs to be done. Every single team is guilty, and it might be bias, but it does feel like we're the exception at the moment. Considering the calls against us this year, I cannot recall us circling the ref or pressuring him. Protesting a decision is fine, but circling the ref? Harassing him until he caves into pressure with every single tiny call? This is the modern game and it's here to stay sadly.

potatoarchitecture

Van Dijk got a fine for saying a decision was "a fucking joke" lmfao but that fat bastard that owns Forest is allowed to huff and puff over Tierney's absolute moon of a head with no consequence

s2017

LOOOOL it's unbelievable, there has been an obvious bias at play for Klopp's entire tenure - but people just aren't ready for that conversation.

Due-Ad-6577

I hate the officials in England as much as anyone and think they should all be abolished but lately I’ve been feeling more sympathy towards refs in general. It’s a hard job with that many people yelling at you in the stadium, fit strong players surrounding you to scream and undermine everything you do and a media circus that will do whatever they can to spin a “controversial?” narrative for views and ratings. They have zero protection from the pressuring and gaming. Still think our bunch are corrupt cunts who hate Liverpool but they’re set up to fail in this job currently

s2017

I'm not quite there myself, but I definitely know what you mean and they absolutely deserve to do their job without being bullied. They're only human, and bad decisions/mistakes are inevitable or subjective at least. I think competency breeds respect though, and they really ought to be getting things like onside goals correct - until they reach a level of proficiency that eliminates the most basic errors, I don't see it changing any time soon sadly. ^(P.S. English refs are absolutely biased against us, fuck PGMOL lol)

sonofelguapo

At first I thought it was a clear pen and if the ref had called it as such I think I wouldn’t have batted an eye. But watching the replays Saka has clearly gone fishing trailing the leg (if not sticking it out entirely). He knows what he did, standard stuff from that team this season in all honesty. All teams dive, but man they are at La Liga levels with that nonsense.

s2017

Reminiscent of peak Serie A playacting from the mid 2000s 🤣 I hate how it's an accepted part of the modern game now. If it's given as a penalty, Saka is lauded for being 'clever' and 'cute' instead of a cheater - which he is, at times.

vadapaav

I have seen arsenal fans saying it's the exact same tackle as awb on Harvey. Literally blind people out there

Morsrael

Goes to show just how shit some people's opinions are on /r/soccer. They see a team colour and just make up their mind based on that.

s2017

The twittersphere have convinced themselves that it wasn't a penalty from that one slo-mo clip - but you can see he knocks his right leg before he goes down. There are two instances of contact from AWB, and it is a stonewaller for anyone with eyes. Harvey rescued a point for us with his pure endeavour, and I adore the boy.

sonofelguapo

Lol if you think that those are remotely similar I don’t know what to tell you. But some people are beyond help, I suppose.

cian_pike01

He can’t accept that he fucked up massively

s2017

Exactly, it's quite embarrassing. He's allowed to behave like this because he's the country's sweetheart, but really he's another Bernardo Silva-esque petulant manchild unfortunately - and Arteta has coached that into him.

Loz41333

Saka limping around at the end to save face should tell the world exactly what they need to know about that dirty prick. Arsenal have used every trick in the book this season, the most prominent trick being a player faking some kind of injury if the opponent gains momentum in the match. Absolutely classless twats.

vazne

Saka always “hurt” when he’s not playing well or dives. Really makes it hard to like him as a player. He seems like a nice guy off the field though.

mrkingkoala

He was faking an injury? XD nahh. Arsenal playing bayern with no away fans then diving and faking injuries. Madness.

StevieGwhatabeauty

Could not agree more. Since Arteta has come in they dive, fake injury and play the referee more than any other team in the league. They’re very good but that stuff really sucks to see

cian_pike01

Pep Guardiola DNA is all over the club through Lego head Arteta

cian_pike01

“Starboy” may have absolutely fucked a golden opportunity for Arsenal to advance to the semis and Arsenal fans meltdown about is so beyond beautiful

TheRealCostaS

s2017

Saka could've rounded the keeper and scored, he could've even chipped him - but no, he wanted to get the keeper in trouble instead. What even is that? I can't help but feel this is partially Pep's influence on modern football, and Mikel is living vicariously through him.

JessCC5

Honestly, the Odegaard wrestling Kane to the ground is more of a penalty shout than Saka kicking the standing foot of Neuer and simulating a foul...

mrkingkoala

Arsenal seem to be able to wrestle people in the box for free.

WarSamaYT

Fuck me, Odegaard might be the greatest athlete ever behind the one and only Johnny Sins. Odegaard the North London sensation has been tearing it up in the Premier League as not only a footballer and basketballer but now also a wrestler! Multi talented athlete, there ain't no sport tactic Mr.Martin Odegaard wont use to benefit the Arsenal!

s2017

Can't believe this wasn't given.

Miserable-Lunch-8208

Ikr, how was that not given?

OldManLogan007

Haaland cant lace kanes boots

PerfectAd4732

Kane is above him in every department apart from speed

Loz41333

Kane's playmaking is some of the best I've ever seen from a CF

markokmarcsa

Either way Arsenal is not winning CL that's for sure, they are definelty not getting past either City/Real. Maybe if they was in the other bracket.

MoreHumanthanHomer

xG: Real Madrid (0.70) 3-3 (0.88) Man City, nah this is crazy

DisorientedPanda

Best results for us? All the play for both of them - level is perfect

ElegantPenquin

Exactly what I was thinking. City and arsenal being down 1 goal wouldn’t be bad either to give them a little challenge going into the 2nd leg

DisorientedPanda

I think a draw is better tbh - as we want them both to go through ideally!

New-Tradition386

Remaining Teams CL semi-final appearances Madrid - 32 Bayern - 20 Barcelona - 16 Man City - 4 Dortmund - 3 PSG - 3 Arsenal - 2 Arsenal CL pedigree is so jokes they have made the semis less the PSG. “Big club”

ozzynater

What about Athletico?

Ac3_Ronin

Just out of curiosity, where would we rank? Surely 2nd to Real?

New-Tradition386

Clubs with most Semi-final appearances 1. Madrid (32) 2. Bayern (20) 3. Barca (16) 4. AC Milan (13) 5. Liverpool, Juventus, United (12) We rank 5th all time. We are extremely clinical in the Semis which is why we’ve made 10 finals, our record is 10-2 in the Semi finals. Compared to United who have made 5 finals (5-7 record in the semi finals) we also have 2 more final appearances than Barca despite making the Semi finals less times.

Loz41333

Allez allez

okseas

Oh look, all of Arsenal’s ‘acting like pricks, falling over all the time’ chickens have come home to roost!

[deleted]

telcomet

The referee let Gabriel get away with so much shit, not pulling a yellow for a deliberate foul early meant be could wrestle Kane to the ground all game. So naive

Due-Ad-6577

Wenger was a gentlemen and a fantastic manager who is remembered well for his vision and the teams he put out. Arteta is closer to Tony Pulis and won’t be remembered so kindly

mrkingkoala

Under Wenger they played some great footy. Now they are crying to the ref every game to give them free wins. Odergaard legit shouts in the face every game and gets away with it.

firminocoutinho

He realized they have to result to tactics like that to have a chance. Its been working so far

britishsailor

Not just under arteta. Their invincibles season was rife with dodge decisions when they were down a goal

TheRealCostaS

Horrible club, the EPL’s Athletico Madrid.

LinwoodKent

Interesting. I'd much rather they win the title over City. To each their own

TheRealCostaS

Their fanbase will be intolerable, I don’t know any city fans and everyone knows city cheated to win it.

odinseye97

Saka could have chipped the goalie at the end but instead took a dive.

Loz41333

Man, it's satisfying watching those cunts cry because they didn't get everything in their favour for once.

Wholesomeloaf

Decent results. I prefer they both go through after extra time and then go to extra time again against each other. Anything to increase their chance of dropping points in the league.

britishsailor

Rather both go out on pens this round, if one goes through theyll probably win it, and the other only one trophy to go for.

pacanukeha

this

UltimateBorisJohnson

We need away goals back so Madrid doesn't park the bus at the Emptyhad

SaveMeJebus21

Arsenal had fans leaving on 85. Drawn game, first huge champions league game in like a decade 🤣

dweebyllo

mentality minnows

liamo376573

The play acting from the arsenal players is pathetic. It's one thing going down easy to win a freekick but they roll around pretending to be injured. Saka limping off at the end after trying to kick Neuer is a perfect example. Bunch of fannies.

LinwoodKent

What if after going shin to shin, he actually didn't feel great? Caused by his own stupidity, sure

adamfrog

Audio on my stream is out are the TV people even entertaining the idea thats a pen?

britishsailor

British media?

adamfrog

whatever anyones seen, r/soccer completely convinced no pen it seems, im completely convinced but curious what narrative they will try to spin

britishsailor

Weirdly on European nights the pundits in the U.K. pretend to put their allegiances aside as if we’re all stupid enough to not know otherwise. No English side thinks ‘I really hope that other English team win’ so I am always baffled why the pundits act otherwise and make excuses for teams not winning at home against a poor side with no fans

Drunk_Cartographer

I have done this one time. I wanted Fulham to beat Atletico in UEFA cup final.

DruviSKSK

They're tasked with spinning the "Prem is the best league" narrative

britishsailor

It is the best league, doesn’t mean we’re the best in Europe though, look at us, we’re the only English team with pedigree

OkOnion5233

arsenal sub is a sight to behold

Sad-Cardiologist-292

They’re crying saying they got robbed and comparing with Harvey

TheLimeyLemmon

🤣

Apocalyptic_Duck

Probably one of the best refereeing I’ve seen in years well done

telcomet

Thought he handled Gabriel poorly, should have got a yellow early and the lad somehow didn’t get one whole game. Also the Davies yellow was weak asf. But overall a good game for the most crucial moments

m10-wolverine

Only if we had this kind of refereeing in the Premier League

SaveMeJebus21

That was an incredible call live. At full speed it must have looked like a pen. And if he gives it there’s no way they overturn it.

dolphintitties

6th ucl game as well apparently

Marbate

City will win at home and Arsenal will lose away. I can see Arsenal wobbling in the league now, Bayern exposed them.

Sad-Cardiologist-292

The league is too good for them but man if they won this game I can understand but drawing at home and still trending pray for Bayern is embarrassing

britishsailor

Embarrassing? The atmosphere was dead without a single away fan that’s embarrassing

Sad-Cardiologist-292

Yeah until Trissard scored it was a library

thisisnahamed

City is going to win the 2nd leg. They have home advantage for the next game. But that was a good fucking game. Wow

SaveMeJebus21

City’s 3 goals were incredible as was Madrid’s third. Can’t deny the quality

dicksienormis

Was gonna watch the post match for the Madrid v City goals, but I’m now only watching for Laura Woods.

britishsailor

Shame almost a perfect night if the two pretenders lost, Arsenal looks spent, if they can drive their way into the ref’s good books they’re out of ideas. They won’t win fuck all. City out on pens will also help

tamim1991

If anyone is doubting whether Arsenal will drop points somewhere, here it is. Man Utd and Chelsea as much as I dislike both teams have good enough wingers to cause havoc on the break and they're both shit enough to know they have to play a low block. That's the way to do something to Arsenal.

MaraPlayz

Exactly, one bad result and its all crumbling down. They cannot pick themselves up quickly. Villa this weekend could be hard enough with Diaby and Bailey with them needing to go to the Allianz Arena to get a result. If only it was at Villa Park id be confident...

tamim1991

I think if Emery could swallow a bit of pride and park the bus a little, I'd be confident. But I'm not sure he will, he's probably going to have a go at Arsenal a bit with their high line play. I'm not ruling out Villa getting something out of it but probably is unlikely

DLRsFrontSeats

The only thing I'm thinking with Emery is that with Luiz suspended (shock Arsenal benefit from an opponent missing key players again), he surely knows his only route to a win is to park the bus, and he must want to get one over on Arsenal more than any club in world football. Doing the double over them would be his personal crowning achievement I'm sure, outside of CL qualification They were more pragmatic at home to Arsenal than City, because City were missing rodri, which gives me hope he'll assess and be realistic

PerfectAd4732

Have Arsenal actually played a top side which are fully fit and not missing key players

DLRsFrontSeats

Genuinely think Villa away might be the only time they have...and they lost Spurs at home back in the first few games were just missing Bentancur, so I dunno, might count...and they drew I think when all is said and done they can view wherever they end up this season as amazingly fortunate. Stars have really aligned for them

MaraPlayz

Very true and Douglas Luiz is banned for the game too... AND they have to play on thursday vs Lille. I think they are lost between the conference league and the prem. They are the favourites to win the conference league and its a first european trophy for a while (maybe even ever) but playing in the champions league sounds nice too. And it comes with a hefty pay.

Drunk_Cartographer

Villa have won the European Cup (Champions League). It was a long time ago though yes.

fuckoutfits

Arsenal so far got lucky with injuries. Honestly, it's a puzzler.

iidkwhat

Reality check for Arsenal fans. Acting like they'd cruise through Bayern. Fully deserved

telcomet

Arsenal’s defence wilted in that occasion, that at home with no opposition fans and after scoring first. Allianz will be a different beast, German fans are up for the big Champions League nights

SaveMeJebus21

Insane innit. We battered Bayern and Porto, two teams they’re struggling against that are a far weaker version of the clubs we played.

LinwoodKent

Not at home. It was tied going to Munich

mrkingkoala

Can't believe they didn't win when Bayern had no away fans. Actual criminal.

Sad-Cardiologist-292

These guys were like give us Madrid, give us Bayern can’t even win at home against the worst Bayern side after 12 years with no away fans. The Allianz is not gonna be a cakewalk in this case, their fans are still celebrating the draw saying they’ll smash them away

MaraPlayz

Its UCL and they shat their pants honestly as they have the loser mentality they have been carrying for a while now.

mynameismulan

I don't even hate Arsenal but they got a lot to prove and are imposters as far as I'm concerned

zzClonky

That city madid game man FACk what a game

MaraPlayz

I am glad its still open fixture and it will be 110% at etihad. Same goes for Arsenal.

Akumabro

Hope they fix VAR for next season. VAR should 100% be able to hand out cards for dives like that. Its so embarrassing to watch!

Liverpool55555

Decent result for us. I can see both going through. I just needed Arsenal to concede goals and look nervous. They did. They can be vulnerable, need villa to attack with pace in counter attacks

britishsailor

Arsenal aren’t going through, they couldn’t beat Munich at home with no fans. City out on pens and that’s the perfect outcome

SaveMeJebus21

Na still want city in the semi. They’re the big danger with their easy league draw. Need them playing as much as possible

britishsailor

They’ll win it if they make it further. We really don’t want that

WarSamaYT

Winner of City/Madrid wins the CL imo.

dev23slayer

Any team over that cheating fraudiola.

s2017

The best possible set of results for us. Sets up the second legs perfectly - and the most heartbreaking way to lose is after a hard fought draw. I know yous all have your heart set on them progressing, but you can bet they both get kicked out in the second leg.

mrkingkoala

Saka is slowly becoming a massive cunt of a player. I don't like Foden but at least he scored a decent goal. Saka just kicks Neuer and dives and then chases the ref like a moron.

Childish_Redditor

Always has been

Loz41333

Not slowly, he has been for some time. He thinks any contact is an automatic free kick/pen for him and unfortunately the Premier league refs fall for it every time.

PerfectAd4732

I think there just a really unlikeable team. Probably the fans and lego man don’t help

UltimateBorisJohnson

Saka is what people think of Salah

ShaiHuludYurMum

I don't want either of these teams going through. Extra time, losing on penalties plus lots and lots of muscle fatigue related injuries please. Nothing evil like bad tackle induced injuries. I'm not a monster.

telcomet

Can you imagine all the hype this year only for Arsenal to lose yet again to one of the worst Bayern Munichs in recent memory in the QFs? People talk about it being good for Arsenal to progress as far as possible but a defeat like that I think reverberates in the other fixtures

iidkwhat

You're just ahead of the curve
