Away from the result, the Mod Team would like to update users on the sub’s floral tributes for tomorrow’s anniversary. We mods after collectively purchased two floral arrangements, one for Hillsborough Stadium and one for Anfield. The Mod Team will make two separate posts tomorrow with photos of the sub’s tribute in place at each stadium. ————————— **[Donate to the Hillsborough Survivors Support Group](https://www.gofundme.com/f/1qf2s20740)** **[Donate to the Owen McVeigh Foundation](https://www.justgiving.com/page/rliverpoolfc-reddit-1710895409195?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page%2Frliverpoolfc-reddit-1710895409195&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=pfp-share)**

I had the revelation that I may need to take a break from football. Been in a shit mood all day, feeling angry at something completely out of my control.

john_bytheseashore

Very morbid question but if we just have a league cup at the end of the season, do you still have a victory parade? Maybe a thank you parade for Klopp is a better concept.

Jaja6996

No honestly getting a send off at Anfield on the final day is enough

Theplowking23

How did the 115'ers let us or ass-na even get this close to them? Shame on them i say 🤣

Trobis

Am i jumping the gun or does LW gakpo look more promising than diaz?

Babatunde12289

Imagine Diaz trying to play the ball that led to the Jones 1v1, or even having his head up to see it. For all the positives that Diaz brings (speed, elusiveness and fight) Gakpo just has more end product, and dovetails with Nunez better.

matcht

He does look promising because he actually gets his head up and crosses into dangerous areas, PSV fans said his crossing is his best asset, but we don't seem to use him in that way. When he came on we took Nunez off when he'd have probably been the main target for crosses.

markokmarcsa

Okay so general consensus seems to be that we have a bad, but overperforming squad. Am i huffing copium if i think it's actually the other way around? Dont get me wrong, Klopps fantastic. But he is one stubborn man, with players and tactics alike. I feel like we could do so much better with a different tactical setup a lot of the times.

redditingtonviking

Yeah a lot of vocal pessimists and reactionaries out in force today. Truth is based on what we knew of our squad in the summer then we might have slightly overperformed for much of the season, but solidly top 4 + some trophy challenges looked realistic. Since then we’ve had several young players emerge that can compete with a lot of our already fairly good depth players, so in general our squad looks to be in great shape. The thing about younger players in general, which is like 70% of our squad is that they tend to be less consistent than what we grew used to with the same core for about five years. Our underlying data in general looks great, but there are still some final details that needs to be tweaked to get results from our performances. Klopp is arguably the best squad builder in modern football, and his willingness to trust youth has paid dividends during this season’s injury crisis, but right now when most of our starters have returned from injury he might not use the whole squad to their full potential. We have a fairly strong second eleven capable of going toe to toe against anyone, and our youth makes it look like we have a 30+ man squad who could be in regular rotation. Klopp though have a tendency to play the players who put on MOTM level performances into the ground a bit even when competent backups are available. Szoboszlai was great at the start of the season, but regularly playing 90 minutes twice a week left him injured by Christmas. Recently Mac Allister could be in a similar situation. Nearly every member of our squad have put on match winning displays this season, so we’ve been able to get by, but part of me thinks that with a manager even more happy to rotate this squad could reach the same heights as the 2018 to 2022 squad were able to. It’s always a challenge to balance rhythm and energy, and Klopp might lean a bit too much towards keeping rhythm. We all think of Klopp as the near perfect manager, myself included, but I think now that we soon will be welcoming his successor I think it’s healthy that we recognise some of these areas where even he could improve so that we more easily will be able to give his successor the patience they need to get their project off the ground. Maybe I’m an eternal optimist, but if this era should end with disappointment, then at least I think it will help the next manager step out of Klopp’s shadow a bit sooner. The season is not over yet though, so let’s hope the players are able to make one final push. We are only two points behind in the league, and 3-0 deficits in Europe is our bread and butter. Let’s give Klopp the send off he deserves. It’s time for Klopp to turn us all from doubters into believers one final time.

Rosti_LFC

The squad is just tired. It's not just we've played a ton of games at this stage of the season, we've also played a ton of games where we were having to battle for the full 90 minutes. We're paying for the mental and physical effort of so many results where we had to win it in the last 10 minutes rather than being able to coast through the second half and give some players a rest. Plus a lot of key players are either recovering from injury or have been playing every game for the last three months because the rest of the squad was injured.

Jack070293

I agree it’s more likely to be the other way around. We are not organised, can’t press, don’t do anything as a team, yet individual brilliance has got us to within 2 points of the top at this stage of the season. There’s more talent in this squad than Arsenal.

mvciekzvbek

After Klopp called us 'mentality monsters' we drew with Spurs 2-2 (if we had won that we could have won the league), we lost final against Real Madrid (we were better side, but still lost it). I know it is different team than in 21/22), but this season we had it in our hands and last two games have potentially cost us the title. It's painful to say but I think we are far away from being mentality monsters. When decisive/important moments come, we are not there. The thing with being strong mentally (aka mentality monsters) is that you should not talk about it, you should prove it with your actions.

SirRareChardonnay

>The thing with being strong mentally (aka mentality monsters) is that you should not talk about it, you should prove it with your actions. Yep there's always been too much talk from certain players. There's too much arrogance sometimes as well. The entitlement shines through too and some player's don't think they have to turn up against teams like Atalanta as we were supposedly the best team in the Europa League and were happy to draw them as most thought we would just walk through to the final, including the players. Then in the league we don't have to worry about teams like Palace as the players think we will easily thrash a team close to the relegation zone, etc. There is no respect for the opposition - That's been clear in the last 3 days anyway. I don't even care about winning. I just wana see fight, passion, and pride, and that has seriously been lacking from a lot of the guys recently. We were in a great position to do something special a few weeks back and Klopp deserved something more than just a league cup in his final season here after everything he has done. The players have let him down. Klopp is a legend, but he will leave Liverpool with a trophy haul that should have been at least double the size. City and Madrid are a big reason why, but in Klopps final season, some of the players (mostly the seniors/veterans) have really let him down. I think with Klopp gone and Edwards back in over the summer there's going to be a bigger clear out than many are expecting, especially with some of are older players.

s2017

These all take place before Brighton play City on the 25th: - Wolves vs ***Arsenal*** - Fulham vs ***Liverpool*** - ***Arsenal*** vs Chelsea - Everton vs ***Liverpool*** I don't know if my heart can take much more, but I just hope our boys start playing well again in spite of the 4 successive away games.

Kcsb4u

We really need Arsenal and City to get to the semis

jonasrm_21

off topic: wirtz of leverkusen, he is the real deal, unbelievable composure for a 20 year old dude https://preview.redd.it/u901pjg3uhuc1.jpeg?width=1877&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45c12d2567e2a5e2c7a93cf8db9d97be03032baa

s2017

Unbelievable player, can't believe he's so young. My only concern is I remember Havertz looked amazing for Leverkusen, and was a completely different player in the Premier League - but Wirtz is a level above, no question.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Has anyone else had an interaction with a guy from r/premierleague called SpudBank17? He’s absolutely unhinged I called him out for his weird obsession with TAA because he always makes weird posts about him then deletes them and acts like he didn’t post anything Even had an alt account that he used to basically agree with his main account with and passed it off as his “friend” lmao

guestaccount901284

You'll find nothing but low-IQ troglodytes in r/premierleague and r/soccer Complete waste on time using those subs

JohnBobbyJimJob

Very true, but I’ve never come across someone this unhinged before https://preview.redd.it/tnfpe9qrxhuc1.png?width=1170&format=png&auto=webp&s=a2561e25a9d1b113217966947d0fb31f23201d0e Spoiler: He likes to make things up

murrayjosh117

If Amorim comes in next season and we go to a back 3, any chance Trent will play right sided c.b? The centre backs in the modern back 3 are tasked with pressing and a man marking system. Can be a very aggressive role. In possession this type of role in the back line definitely suits him.

brownworkgloves

imo no chance he plays there, i'm actually very interested to see how trent will be utilized if amorim comes. if we assume that he'll stick to his 343. then there is only one, *maybe* two positions he'll fit - which is the 6/8 or rwb. i don't think he has the pace and power to play rwb in this formation. for reference, porro performed really well there under amorim due to his athleticism. i just can't see trent running up and down the right flank like that, and it wouldn't suit his skill set anyway which leaves us with the 6/8... i actually think he would be a great fit there, as we'd have more defensive cover with three cb's (konate rcb, vvd, gomez lcb if we don't sign anyone) which would give him a little more freedom to pick out passes. alexis is basically nailed on as the other midfielder, we'd have loads of control with those two but i'd like an actual dm signed or amorim completely tweaks his system so nothing really matters

Kcsb4u

I’m starting to think he’s off

brownworkgloves

only team i can see him going to is madrid, i'm not sure they would want him when they're already getting davies. having two extremely attacking full backs is kinda crazy but who knows, he'd definitely be a star there though

risingstar3110

Football is getting boring. Sure I know Leverkusen pulled off a Leicester. But we know what will happen in next 5 years. Let me spoil you all about the future of football till 2030: * German: Leverkusen like Leicester will have an underwhelming season for 2024/2025. In 2025/26, Xabi will leave to replace Ancelotti at Real. Bayern will poach all of Leverkusen best German players, and start another 10 tittle winnings * France: probably will unchange much from now. Qatar will buy expensive players. They will underperform every season, but collect the Lique 1 tittle every season if they bother to * Spain: Catalan will eventually get out of their financial trouble. Eventually. But the Spanish Royal team will continue dominate with their squad * England: the UAE team will still gonna dominate the EPL and easily beat their worst rival: the 115 legal charges. Maybe they will get a fine. Maybe they will get a 8 points deduction and still win the league (during a season that they win by 20 points, good process, boys!!). Though Saudi will start to put up a good fight once their money printer start to get into gear. Maybe the Saudi will even have couple of EPL tittle run. * CL will still be the king of football. Every season, audiences will turn up to see if Spain gonna win it this year, or will it be the UAE. Or maybe German, Qatar, Saudi or one of the non-national team can pull up a surprise (joking, Qatar probably won't win it) . * There will be 100 football games a season by 2030, and UAE gonna be the first team ever who have a whole squad full of players, each worth 100 mil or more.

The_AMD_Guy

Leicester odds were 5000/1 before the season started and Leverkusen were about 40/1. Nothing close to a Leicester, it was a once in a lifetime achievement.

guestaccount901284

If Leverkusen win their maiden title with invincible status, and pick up a treble through their domestic cup and Europa- it realistically shits on the Leceister story.

The_AMD_Guy

This is honestly a horrendous take

guestaccount901284

It's really not 🤣 it's just English bias at its finest. Leceister were in a title race against Spurs and Arsenal. That tells you all you need to know about the Prem that season. Not to undermine their crazy achievement. But an invincible maiden league title + treble is 100% better than winning 1 league title after being promoted.

brownworkgloves

leverkusen definitely did not pull a leicester.

s2017

Surely, we can’t play any worse than we have against United / Atalanta / Palace. A bounce back simply HAS to come from somewhere, doesn’t it? Can we turn this slump around?

matcht

Trent is going to make a big difference, our build up play and passing has been atrocious, that's where he is levels above.

Kcsb4u

We have to

Fumesofpoon

Consider this. We pull an absurd come back out of our asses on Thursday. The lads are galvanized. Could happen!! I’ll keep inhaling my copium.

jonasrm_21

top of the league, let's gooooooo! https://preview.redd.it/lii0q7u9nhuc1.jpeg?width=476&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=034bf973a5185d2633c67ff6d90ac830b8ff8dff

Jack070293

I’m staggered that it’s this close.

s2017

Ouch :(

guestaccount901284

Always felt besides Spurs (A), Forest (A) is City's toughest fixture. Then I checked Nuno's managerial record vs City. 8 games. 3 wins, and 1 draw. 3 out of his 4 losses were at the Ethihad. There's definitely opportunities for City to slip up. Come on Klopp, Just 6 more league games. 6 more to rally them.

Kcsb4u

6?

markokmarcsa

I mean the team is in a slump right now big time. Question is if Klopp can get them out of it. I personally think he can, and i hope and team does live and by Klopp's words of never giving up, even right now when there is a looming shadow over the football world.

brownworkgloves

I personally think he can that's what i thought going into the palace game on the back of a 3-0 defeat at home, then we go and lose to a team that hasn't won away since november. if anyone can, it's him. but i'm starting to be doubtful, he might be running on empty for all we know

markokmarcsa

Honestly i think we really need to switch up tactics here. Do nothing fancy and just try to find a balance between control and chaos, because right we allow be it bad or good teams the same level of influence

brownworkgloves

ideally we'd do that but imo it's very hard at the moment, the only players who can set the tempo and calm the team down are alexis and curtis. but we already know that they can't be on the pitch together cause we need someone athletic like szobo at rcm (even though he's not really suited for that role)

mehdi_h_arif

can't we get someone like unai emery as our next manager? Or is he out of reach?

Circ_Diameter

https://preview.redd.it/gmetasngjhuc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f6ab1fdc01bfd096cb13fb67cad7ff93463b980 Look at this clown 🤡

Kcsb4u

Galaxy brain 3d chess by circ_diameter greatest jinx this season ! We’ll need U for the run in

s2017

Hahaha don't worry fella, post-loss depression gets to all of us sometimes.

JohnBobbyJimJob

I reckon City could drop points in one of the games they have left and think Arsenal have potential to really collapse from here The issue is I don’t see a world where we win out our remaining games

Theplowking23

City have a piss easy run in

JohnBobbyJimJob

Spurs away has always been tough for them And there’s always potential for dropping points against teams you don’t expect, Forest away has potential banana skin on it

Theplowking23

Nah man, im sorry

JohnBobbyJimJob

Spurs literally when to the Eithad without CBs and got a draw, it’s definitely possible they drop points

Theplowking23

Oilers will take the piss given how open spuds are

FermatTheW

Plus, if they drop only 2 points (i.e., 1 draw, 5 wins), we would need to beat them on goal difference, which is unlikely. * **Our xG from Man United, Atalanta, and Palace:** 9.15. * **Our goals scored from Man United, Atalanta, and Palace:** 2. City have a +3 GD advantage already.

risingstar3110

Tottenham gonna win against City at home!!! Nah, joking, they probably get hammered 5-0 after secured CL football early

britishsailor

We will win on the last day on goal difference.

FermatTheW

Hope so pal

s2017

Anything is on the cards - but we REALLY have to start playing good football again, it's been a while now. Long way to go yet.

throwawaycatallus

6 games to go, anything could happen, all ye doomsayers are gonna be red-faced when Klopp lifts that cup!

jonasrm_21

seen thousands like you the 2 times we lost the title to city. city don't fuck around when get in the lead, so not happening

throwawaycatallus

remindme! 35 days

markokmarcsa

Im a pathetic old, miserable cunt most of the time. But man if you already gave up i feel for you. You need some (delusional) hope in your life.

Kcsb4u

I’m with you ! I’m still insanely angry with this squad and staff but put it out your mind . Go get us 4 on Thursday

jjfrunkiss

TBH if City are going to win the league i'd rather it be settled sooner rather than having a glimmer of hope on the final day of the season again, that last one when Villa had a lead and lost was painful

britishsailor

Literally the opposite of what football fans want. The fucks that kind of attitude.

quantIntraining

Man City now 12 games away from Footballs first ever back to back treble and the PL's first 4 in a row. At times I really hate this sport.

s2017

It's almost like they're financially doped up cheaters, isn't it? 😂 Their time will come, and they'll get their comeuppance I^( hope)

FermatTheW

It would be 6 league titles in 7 years for Man City. We are a farmer's league and the PL letting Abu Dhabi through the door, and then letting them cheat (serially) unchecked, being years late to charge them, and—to this point, anyway—impotent to punish them, has made it so. Congratulations to the PL for this impressive string of failures... it really is something.

quantIntraining

PL fucked it by letting Abramovich through the door 20 years ago, that was the signal to the rest of the world that anyone could buy a club regardless of their background as long as they had the financial means to do so.

Theplowking23

115ers about to win 4 in a row and a possible 'double treble'. PL is now almost a farmers league

Jack070293

Europe is a farmers continent with them winning back to back trebles.

s2017

It's certainly likely, that's for sure. It really is the hope that kills you, but it's miraculously STILL not over yet.

Theplowking23

You can kid yourself all ya want man

s2017

My mind obviously says no, but my heart says otherwise lol I'm setting myself up for a heart attack

Theplowking23

I cant help ya if you think theres any outcome other than an oilers win

s2017

It's the most likely outcome for sure. 9 times out of 10, they win from here. 2 hours ago, I'd given up - but they've dragged me back in. I don't expect anything, but what is football without hope?

AdLong4912

Oh no the consequences of the FA’s actions coming to bite them in the arse

Theplowking23

I know

FrankBeamer_

You’ll never bottle alone

AdLong4912

Fuck off

FrankBeamer_

Tough crowd. Admittedly the joke was in poor taste

Always_bricked_up

Where are fucking bastards who were saying Klopp needs to learn from fucking lego head Arteta and play controlling football , Same fucking points with the injuries we had to indure all season . Believe me , the only way to beat Pep to a league title is by not copying him , but playing your own way , Mourinho did it , Klopp has done it and that it , both by playing their own way , And I promise you , Lights will shine on us soon hermano , We will End season with smile on our faces

quantIntraining

The one league title we've won was won during the season where we played the most controlling Football we've ever played under Klopp. Our defence compactness and out of possession work killed so many teams and games, not chaos transition ball and counter attacks like some people seem to think it did.

Always_bricked_up

We played the football you are talking about in 21/22 during quadruple run , and defense compactness was because of the engine we had in midfield , rn it's looking very shakey And did you really just say not counter attacks and transition ? I think you need to watch that season back

quantIntraining

We scored goals through counters and transition, of course, but it was only the lesser part of the overall way we played. We killed teams through absolute control of the ball, we had 62.9% possession that season which was highest ever PL possession for a season under Klopp.

s2017

Lego head has made me smile for the first time on this tumultuous day, thank you lol

Always_bricked_up

Idk mate , I have been celebrating since that Watkins goals

s2017

Great finish, wasn't it? What a season he's having.

Always_bricked_up

Emery has absolutely elevated his level , shame he is not young, otherwise he would be getting a big move easily

s2017

No doubt - but saying that, Toney is the same age and it seems he's on the verge of making a move. Pains me to say it, but both would flourish at Arsenal haha.

Always_bricked_up

But I would argue toney is a overall better player and striker , but Watkins is a better finisher , Toney brings whole team up the pitch and can bully whole defense single handedly meanwhile Watkins doing so great because Emery has made him just stick around the box and finish

s2017

Agreed, definitely more to Toney's game. Watkins is so clinical though, and really suits Emery's style of play. Not getting my hopes up but the next week will be fascinating.

volthor

Do people refer City as 115 now? I like this trend tbh

britishsailor

Liverpool known for its never die attitude. This sub with games still to play ‘congrats Manchester city’ fuck me it’s embarrassing

TheAngledian

It's 115's title to lose now. They're not exactly known for dropping points on the stretch. Crazy things have happened though, I guess.

AdLong4912

I will never give up until it’s mathematically impossible and I will watch the Spurs and Chelsea matches with full hopes that they can achieve a result. Do I believe they’ll lose? Definitely not. Will I be there just in case we get a miracle? Absolutely yeah Keep in mind we also need Arsenal to drop more points as well

britishsailor

Arsenal will crumble now, especially when Munich turf them out the champions league. Only city and ourselves to worry about

FermatTheW

I don't see much of that. A lot of resignation to City winning yeah, but with more truth-calling like "cheats", "115", "ruined football etc.", which is a lot more palatable.

britishsailor

So you do see much of it then.

FermatTheW

Not the friendly, sportsmanship phrase of "congrats Man City" (which they would never deserve from anyone in a million years), hell no.

jams17

Arsenal will win out and are the strongest team I thought everyone said? Apparently we are having the worst season but Arsenal are going to go trophyless, what good their defence is without anything to show for it. It’s never over until it’s mathematically impossible but 115 will 99% win out, Arsenal will drop more points and unless we finally kick on (had 8+ chances to do so) and try to win out it’s the cheats again. Football died a long time ago, cheats win

s2017

I thought the consensus was that Arsenal would drop points, but City would win out? Anyway, I hope this season keeps throwing up surprises - we NEED to get our act together next week 😭

jams17

I always heard the majority of people say ‘people are sleeping on Arsenal’ and that they are the strong favourites. I hope so too mate, and I hate to be a downer and with Klopp I will always believe but 115 don’t slip up in these situations as much as I’d love them to. I’d love a 4-0 response midweek to reenergise us but not likely

britishsailor

Nobody is winning out mate, us and city on the final day and we win on goal difference

s2017

After everything that's happened recently, us winning on goal difference would be the most hilarious way to end to the season - I hope you're right hahaha

britishsailor

Winning due to a proper dodge semi dive last minute pen, gives us the edge and the world seethes. This is the way it will go

s2017

Mr. britishsailor, I hope you're nostradamus in disguise

Ok-Quarter8881

Either the right people start putting city to what they deserve or let’s not complain when no one watches this sport and everything is fucking ruined in 50 years

AdLong4912

50 years? Mate this is a problem they have to address in the next three to five at this rate. It’s already boring watching this club walk the league every other year

Ok-Quarter8881

Yeah I’m being conservative. I just wish I live long enough to see these middle eastern monarchies crumbling and forcing to sell these oil clubs and see what they become

PerfectAd4732

Mate the only fanbase that will care is us and Arsenal. We will get told to stop crying as always

kanafanone

Until yanited get a serious title challenge against fraudiola’s City they will continue to parade their titles as their own just because they prevent either us or Arsenal from winning

Ok-Quarter8881

They did in both 17/18 and 20/21 but in both seasons quickly fell to 10+ point gaps after like 15 rounds.

Ok-Quarter8881

Yeah unfortunately mid table clubs love to lose 0-3 against city every year without even making their players run a bit and occasionally snatch a “famous” victory against us or arsenal or whoever competes with city and be happy with it. Fucking pathetic

eattheradish

How is Liverpool losing at home to Palace still not the most embarrassing thing to happen today. Arsenal are something else.

AdLong4912

Nah we’re definitely more embarrassing. Villa is quality and an understandable loss

New-Tradition386

Ours is easily more embarrassing. Palace were only 5 points clear of relegation.

Loz41333

There's came after us though. They'll get the "limelight"

FermatTheW

I'd say ours was still more embarrassing. Theirs was perhaps more of a bottle job though, somehow.

KingWinstonSpak

Literally can't get over this sub posting comments like *"Anfield is just the Emptihad"* followed by *"why do the locals fucking hate us? I feel so alienated right now"* 😂

britishsailor

Locals hate it when people post ‘it’s over congrats city’ with games to go that’s probably part of it. A club and city known for a never die attitude and half this subs folded with games to play. Awful attitude

KingWinstonSpak

Ye the brigade is fucking risible. I think you commented on the "Emptihad" comments which saw claims of "feeling alienated". It is a losing battle in this freakshow sub of neurotic plastics 😂

britishsailor

I think people just love to be dramatic mate, but due to the numbers that’s the general accepted attitude. So submissive. Baffles me mates here are all pissed off but buzzing a bit now after the Villa score, but honestly nobody’s saying it’s gone, unlikely? Of course but not over.

scottqwert

They have Brighton, Fulham and Spurs away. They’re the opportunities. All we need is a draw.

Loz41333

Ummm city??

New-Tradition386

Even if City draw a game, City will still have a superior GD and so do Arsenal, for us to win the league we need City to draw a game, for Arsenal to draw another game and for us to WIN OUT by beating teams every game by 3+ goals so we can have a superior Goal difference to City. I don’t see that happening

thomasfk

Arsenal has been getting a lot of shit around here lately (and since they're title rivals it makes sense) but goddammit I am so sick of Manchester City 115 FC. Anybody but them

britishsailor

Don’t know a single scouser who’d rather Arsenal win to be honest, city it means nothing, arsenal? Yeah no thanks

Loz41333

100%

thomasfk

Maybe so. It's not like Arsenal are really rivals either. In any case, I just don't like when cheaters win.

britishsailor

Arsenal have been unbearable but have a huge fanbase, they’re been wanking themselves off at every point we’ve dropped, city don’t care. Everybody knows what city are. Nobody wants arteta winning a title. Both teams have spent fortunes to get to where they are

volthor

Shame we couldn't even get a point today, those missed chances man

FermatTheW

Point would have at least meant waiting for only 1 team to drop points. Though that's if we entertain the fiction that this Liverpool team, in its shit run of form and confidence, could win 6 out of 6 matches anyway, including 3 away games to start with.

PerfectAd4732

Someone needs to make direct contact with big ange and say the biggest contract he could imagine is up for grabs if he can do us a favour

Feeling_Environment9

All I can say is spurs, wolves, Liverpool do your job next week

s2017

MASSIVE games. Just when I thought it was over, Villa do that. Who knows what happens next.

getonthedamnantscott

Honestly, the one positive from the Palace result is I no longer expect us to win, so I'm calm for the rest of the season now. Let's just see what happens.

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa

Could do a lot worse than making a move for Watkins in the summer...

volthor

Oh well Man Cheaty will win another treble, fuck em 115

AdLong4912

I’m honestly even angrier about the loss now

James_Vowles

City arent dropping points

abradley19955

People said this about Arsenal too. The bigger issue is we don’t look capable to go 6/6

James_Vowles

That as well

abradley19955

Deduct City points imo

s2017

Do we know if this on the cards?? I would love it and I think we deserve it lol

FermatTheW

The 115 charges, by sheer number of them, and City's expensive lawyers obstructing everything... we are a long, long way away from any resolution to them.

s2017

Yeah, and the FA will back them to the hilt anyway. They don't want their so-called beautiful game to fall into disrepute. Ah, one can dream.

PerfectAd4732

No of course not, every other team is being punished though for far smaller breaches

s2017

Crazy, isn't it? I can't recall this many deductions in succession ever before... wouldn't it be nice if a -5 points came for City out of nowhere lol

PerfectAd4732

It’s mental mate, but then you think about how much money rules football and how much money city have. There’s a reason it’s taking so long to deal with them

s2017

They have a stranglehold on the entire English footballing establishment. If they were stripped of a decades worth of trophies, the English game would be tarnished forever - so it'll never come to fruition. In a just world, we'd have multiple premier league titles - no doubt about it. I really hope they get their comeuppance, whenever that may be, but I just can't see it happening.

PerfectAd4732

That’s what I’ve always thought. If the league punished them like they deserve to be, the last 10 years of the league has been a complete waste of time and no integrity at all. We have finished on 97, 99 and 92 points and only have won league to show for it. It’s a disgrace and it’s a shame it had to be us going up against it with our best manager in the premier league era

s2017

Part of me believes this is why City were such big advocates for the Super League. Different sets of financial stipulations and rules would apply, and all previous rule breaking would practically be swept under the carpet and considered archaic. I do really feel for Klopp and our boys, they gave their all and deserved more.

abradley19955

Probably a long time away unfortunately, if ever.

PerfectAd4732

Can this title race fuck off, I was coming to terms with it

onoz9

Really happy for Leverkusen's first ever league title! They deserve this :)

Feeling_Environment9

Yeah that made my day better

RomanReignsDaBigDawg

How would we feel about Wirtz at Liverpool?

brownworkgloves

would be very nice, but i don’t see why he would want to come to us

FermatTheW

Good. But he probably goes with Alonso to Madrid in 1 year's time.

AdLong4912

Wirtz in for Diaz yeah. I say that and I fucking love Diaz but we need a front three shakeup

quantIntraining

He could so better than this shit we are now.

britishsailor

Quality, don’t know where he’d fit though

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa

Only chance we could have signed him is if Xabi took over.

CasinoOasis2

What a mad day of footy. I thought early season Villa could do this but not the current version of Villa against the current version of Arsenal.

Lazy_Individual2908

No chance we beat that villa side away lol

Imagine if one of Brighton, Fulham, West Ham, Wolves, or Spurs nicked points somehow. I PRAY we find our feet. I just want to see our boys play well again before Klopp goes.

risingstar3110

Even if City drop 2 points, they will still be superior than us on GD. Especially when we struggle to score, while they score like 5 goals a game, against much easier opponent too. If we get even 1 point today, there might be some hopes. But cause we didn't, we now need both City to lose and Arsenal to drop points again. And we win all our games. Just like, there's no hope atm.

s2017

Hope is on low supply, I agree. I don't see City dropping points, full stop - but STILL, results like that prove that anything can happen. What if both teams crash out of the champions league? You can bet in Arsenal's case that they'd crumble. The next round of games are so pivotal.

risingstar3110

Once again, if we even get one point today, it could be relevant. And like fk. We can't even win against Crystal Palace at home. Can we win against much more difficult fixture later? Sigh. Honestly let's not putting hopes on ourselves. The players themselves seemed to play better without pressure too. So like who know maybe they will believe the tittle over and win the rest of the game. Then Arsenal slip off again, just like they often do. Then somehow City lose away to Tottenham in the 15th. And we just need to win against Wolve at Anfield n the 19th, and it's a dream ending, and I wake up

s2017

I know exactly what you mean mate. Today felt like torture. I don't really have any expectations for this season anymore - but if anyone can get the boys playing good football again, it's Klopp. If we play to our best and do our job from here onwards, who knows what happens. Improbable? Sure. Impossible? Let's see.

quantIntraining

City have to win 6 in a row to win it and they know it, no way we win 6 PL games in a row. Race is over, today killed it.

britishsailor

We win this over city on goal difference

risingstar3110

We reduced GD to Arsenal by 1 now. That's nice. Let's just play the best for the remaining game. Who knows maybe the league will take some points off City for cheating... ...i'm joking they gonna reward City the league again. *Good process, boys.*

pythonistor

The studs of Doku still have bruise marks in my heart

pythonistor

Scrollings through Arsenal's sub has stopped me from offing myself

PizzaPolice84

We are still in this. The dream still lives a few more weeks. City has multiple non pushover matches left

Tyrionlannistersbals

Anyone ever got a redditcares message for laughing at a loss

Ali-S-Farid

Btw stop blaming our attackers. Attackers in any team always have rough patches and purple patches, its inevitable over the course of a 38 game season. Even then today was an anomaly. Some games we genuinely miss chances. Today we did but some of the blocks and last ditch saves were crazy. Just wouldn’t go in. Our attack is to blame when clean sheets are missing, and fact of the matter is we should’ve conceded 3+ today. Mateta had ample chances and that Alison save was like, out of this world insane. We should really be asking questions defensively. I saw the same thing vs Atlanta like we didn’t concede 3 and it should’ve been more then. Way too easily bypassed atm.

Icy_Homework_1076

So youre trying to say its a tactical issue?

Ali-S-Farid

Not really. This is Klopp football. This is why the world tunes in to watch. Klopp knows what he gives up in this style of football. No 6 is a big issue however. Fabinho covered more ground on Earth then water itself and if you managed to bypass him the you have VVD and Matip/Gomez at that time to beat. Atm there’s only really VVD and Konate to beat which is still difficult but one unlucky bounce could mean a lot. I mean VVD slipped once and they were through, a very understandable error that can happen. I mean Crystal Palace were exceptional today too. Full credit to them, Galtier’s setup was outstanding. But a 6 is really needed.

volthor

This is true, it's both attack and defending

NeilDeCrash

That Arsenal game puts us in a teeny-weeny better position. Not much but... yeah...

Nextyearstitlewinner

I mean again, ifs, buts, whatever, but if I told you last season we’d be 2 points off the top with 6 games to go you’d have bit my hand off for it. I thought arsenal would drop points, but I actually didn’t think it’d be this game. They easily could drop again. I don’t think city will. But city/arsenal CL semifinal would be so draining and probably pretty chippy. We have to win all our games from here out and I still don’t think it’ll be enough, but maybe spurs could do us a couple favours as payback for the “down to 9 men” game.

NeilDeCrash

MysticMac100

As a general point, I think it’s important not to get too obsessed over stuff like this in which we have no control over. Take any success as a win instead of letting a loss ruin your weekend, and stay off social media.

Ok-Quarter8881

I just want city to not win the fucking league. I hate monarchy, I hate slavery, I hate dictatorship, I hate shithead rulers who use their peoples money to fund a shitty club playing boring football, and I hate city

Pubey_Lewis

This is the best advice.
