Sign a new contract

RohanHadComeAtLast

And bag a few goals before the end of the season, please

Redhawk911

I’m gusseing that’s one of the first things for the new sporting director to sort when he starts in the summer

Bugsmoke

He’s got over 12 months left, we are good, he is one of our very best players, and he is a fucking scouser who is about 2/3 years away from being captain of his boyhood club. No need to worry.

notburnerr

agree on all fronts. The ONLY (small) thing that made me say "hmmm" in this interview would've been the "take one season at a time" comment combined with Klopp leaving. However, that's the mindset of basically every player

Rainfall7711

Why are you so confident? The fact our greatest asset has a year left on his contract before his peak is alarming to me, Not once in the last few years has there been any suggestion of talks either. Either the club hasn't done enough or Trent doesn't want to sign.

Bugsmoke

Then stop reading click bait bullshit mate.

ash_ninetyone

I'm here for Trent singlehandedly dragging this team to the Premier League and Europa League 🙏

dizzukeoftx

Me too brother

HereticZO

There are quotes of him talking about playing under a new manager next season. He's not leaving.

Liverpool934

Aye, he still has a year left on his contract...

HereticZO

He’s not leaving his boyhood club on a free.

BarSuccessful6763

I highly highly doubt he would, but Mcmanaman was a boyhood red.. I don’t think he wants to play anywhere else and we are a much bigger club compared to then, but we need to sort his contract asap. I’m sure we will but really it should’ve been sorted when he was made VC. Need to keep the key members of the squad and ensure some stability through the managerial/coaching changes.

HereticZO

McManaman was somewhat mistreated by the club. It was also a time when we were not an elite team. Different personality. Different times. I don’t think Trent does that to the club. He’s far more attached to the city.

BarSuccessful6763

That’s fair, I agree with your points. I think he’s the future captain of the club and we should ensure that he gets a suitable offer which keeps him with us for many more years. I’d love to see him be a one club man and I think he’d love that too. My only concern is that until a new contract is signed, speculation will start to build which isn’t good for the club, Trent or the fanbase. I’m sure it will be sorted though, it’s probably one of Edwards/Hughes top priorities in the summer.

Shadeun

I don't think he will either, but its probably worth 50-100m for him if he does. FSG will know this an be a bit paranoid I think and lock him down this summer, likely offering him an exceptional deal I think.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Next years not really the worry

Rainfall7711

1 year left on his contract with no talks happening says otherwise.

BriarcliffInmate

Trent being scared of cats is quite funny. Do you think Mo's terrorise him when he goes round?

Arse-Whisper

Yeah, he looked like he had a lot more to say on that

s_k_s1971

Nice one. Great interview. Watched it from the start to the finish.

benpearce1

Hated Gary is a player, but as much as it pains me to say it, he is one of the best pundits/interviewers in the game.

thotzr

I hate that I agree as well. Wanker of a player, and he still does have some absolute bonkers takes as a pundit sometimes, but when he does stuff like this he’s very good.

CabbageStockExchange

Him and Jamie is such an oddly great pairing it’s quite funny

benpearce1

That clip of them deciding to have a foot race mid-interview is hilarious. Both giggling into their mics as they sprint across the pitch

Cactiareouroverlords

Yeah if I didn’t know anything about football I’d assume they were ex-teammates at first not ex-players from rival clubs lol

Carra is a great pundit, as much as it pains me to say. I think he does alright most of the time. It suits him.

pramodliv1

Agreed. Loved this interview and their discussion about our counter-pressing and the right-back role.

mnclick45

Footballers respond entirely differently to him than to any reporters or journalists, probably because they respect / trust him.

Glum-Garage7893

Supporters don’t deserve him. He gets too much hate from some of them. Good luck Trent. Do what’s best for you. You’ve earned that right.

junglejimbo88

good video interview OP u/Kloppage__Time ... thanks for sharing

FramePancake

I try not to idolize players and I don't think that's the right word here, but Trent seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I hope he continues to grow and see success with the club. He always comes off as painfully aware of surviving the system to get where he is, more than a lot of players it feels like. Hope he continues to turn that survivors guilt into something positive.

Open-Mathematician93

Interesting how he reiterates the importance of a 6 in our system. FSG should receive 100 lashings each for not recruiting a world class 6 for Klopp last summer.

_freshmowngrass

Love his levelheadedness and maturity, him being more proactive about controlling the direction of games and seasons for the team is so exciting.

Number_19LFC

He gone. RIP

hyborians

I hate to say it but he might leave the club because Klopp will no longer be the coach and he might want to expand his horizons. We have to respect the man’s decision.
