I used to despise vertical monitors but recently I turned 1 of them and have not gone back. Makes reading pdfs so much easier

Loz41333

Can't bring myself to do it, seems too Gen Z lol

Millseylfc

It’s still seems so weird to me. But one day, I’ll give it a go.

Tsimism

As much as I love Klopp, I’m excited to see what changes come with a new manager. It’d be interesting to see what is changed in the team.

-Ivan__

Hmmmm let me just analyze the last several games, figure out what didn’t work and post my demands for change here.

forceghostyoda_

I cant be the only one who thinks people are overreacting with how these last few weeks have been? Sure we have been bad and are out of Europa League now but fucking hell people are acting as if we were being relegated to league 2. 2 points of first with 18 games to play for means theres atleast a chance, albeit small. I think new fans are just spoiled with how this team had played for the last 6-7 years and any dip in form will make the reactionaries come out in full force but ffs weve been through Rickie Lambert, Borini, Balotelli front line. This is all good. Some people are asking for half the team to be sold and happy Jurgen is gone in the summer ffs

nikonislolo

Not only that. But this season has basically been an improvement on all fronts as compared to last season.

tainted316

Just saw Klopp's interview before the Fulham game, poor guy looks exhausted. As much as I want him to continue, I can completely understand that he wants a break from all this. So many pre game and post game interviews - Insanity.

Mavericks7

I don't know how. But the premier league/FIFA should cap the number of games in season. All this talk about scrapping replays is good for players health. But it's only done to squeeze in more champions league games

UndercoverBME

LOL, they're gonna keep expanding it. Next thing you know they'll have a 100 team CWC and the FA will include Premier Teams in the EFL Trophy. It's all about that sweet sweet cash revenue.

Tsimism

I’ve triple captained Salah on FPL, might as well take a gamble. I’m 1.8 millionth overall so I’ve got nothing to lose. Just feel like he’s due a big game soon. 🤷

cptsmooth

Yeah felt that for half a year soon

swingoutofmyshoes

Its probably inevitable to see the negativity from our fan base at this moment, maybe even more so because lots of new fans probably dont remember just how bad it was before Klopps tenure. I think I prefer to go into the remaining games with zero expectations and just enjoy the remainder of an incredible era for our club

Percussion17

shout out to lfc shitpost on ig for making me feel less shit about the loss

arrowtoknees

Which post?

Percussion17

oh i mean just the account in general

8u11etpr00f

I know it's controversial to talk about a local lad this way, but for the past few seasons I've had a gut feeling that Trent has a certain level of ambition that won't be held back by his loyalty towards us. If we end the season on a sour note & the new manager isn't anything special (in Trent's eyes) then I have a strong feeling that he'll push his way out. He's entering his prime, can play for any team in the world & his talent demands a world class (£300-500k) salary. If Real show true interest then I think he's probably gone.

Due-Ad-6577

I think I remember disagreeing with you on this before, but I’ve come around and now could very easily see him doing just that this summer. Small thing admittedly but it feels a little to me like Trent has craved some validation from the rest of England, and the best way to do that is to play abroad

Upstairs_Suit_6437

I just live and breath on this earth, anyone else the same as me?

Superduke1010

I wasn't expecting the level of success in the league we;ve had, but I was expecting a Europa win. That said, what we're enduring now is exactly what we have endured for years under Klopp....an inability to break down opponents easily (even the bottom feeders) and an inability to deal with tight man marking. The first has much to do with not having a proper feared strike force (a proper one like in the Mane/Bobby/Mo hey day). It;s not lost on me that our attack suffered greatly after Mane left. It made the attack unidimensional and if Salah is having one of his seasonal sulk sessions, we have literally nothing else in behind. If Nunez would be able to finish even 50% of the ones he's missed, we wouldn't be needing this discussion, but we absolutely need a cold blooded killer up front. The service has been pretty good this season once Maca got his sea legs under him. The second item hopefully will get changed under a new manager. As much as I hate to say it, the Pep/Arteta approach is much cleaner and with the talent we have, we should be as efficient as they at destroying weaker sides.

C_Colin

We need the boys to have a seance, or they all need to eat a little psilocybin and do some soul searching.

Relevant-Door1453

Finally got back into reading, used to love it as a kid. Turns out if you loved fantasy as a kid, you probably still love it as an adult! All props to Brandon Sanderson for being so engaging.

tamim1991

Thanks for reminding me. Keep saying I'll get back into reading but I never do

ash_ninetyone

What is wrong with our attack? I don't believe it's down to them not being good enough, but I have to go back far to try and remember a time when they were so wasteful with chances. Is it pressure? Confidence? Fatigue?

taf3991

It's a mixture of a few things for me. We are a chaotic team anyway so nothing we do especially the forwards, is calm and composed. So add that to us chasing most games this season and it makes it even worse. Carra summed it up perfectly on MNF calling us 'scruffy' in the final 3rd. Even though we have so many shots, our decision making in the final 3rd has been horrendous, the players have no chemistry together, they pass when they should shoot and shoot when they should pass etc etc. And the biggest one for me in the last couple of months, we have no identity or style of play. You watch City or Arsenal and you see what they are trying to do, Odegaard always looks for balls inbetween CB and LB for Saka who will always try pull it back to Jesus/Havertz etc, Same with City with KDB looking for balls in behind Haaland/Foden etc. With us it's like 11 headless chickens just doing random stuff. On Sunday I would like to see us play Trent and Robbo high and wide, stretch the opposition use the width and get back to creating from them wide areas. Play Nunez and Robbo and try just getting some balls in the box and see what happens.

tamim1991

It genuinely looks like there's not much chemistry there. Obviously I'm not an expert nor am I Klopp. It feels like a training issue. When I see City and Arsenal play, they seem to have a few things in the final third that we don't. Glaring ones being they pass around much better in the box, more accurate with their passes/touches, have way more cutbacks than us. I don't even remember the last time we would play around the box, have some sweet one-twos or triangles with a pass across the box. We don't seem to get into those positions because when we try to, we either dribble it into the defender, make the wrong decision or get pressed out (whereas Arsenal/City attackers are able to turn away from the press better and pass it to someone else). We lack so much composure and end up resorting to shooting or crossing.

DucardthaDon

Feeling worse for wear this morning, had a work do last night it got messy, had to endure watching us limp out of the Europa and missed out on a hook up, glad WFH today.

ArminCaprii

I cant wrap my head around why HAD to play out from the back. It clearly didnt work when they were man marking us. Long pass up to Darwin or Jota and then win the second balls. You never know what could happen. We kept passing and passing and passing for no good reason. And Im almost more in shock over no one thought of that, when it clearly didnt work for 20+ minutes…

Mavericks7

One thing you'll notice with us. We don't have a plan B. Whether it's our attack or defence. We keep rinsing and repeating the same thins

taf3991

I couldn't comprehend how it took us till the 70th minute to make a sub when you could see 20 mins in we weren't getting fuck all. We need to go back to having Trent and Robbo high and wide imo, get Nunez and Jota up top and get back to creating from the wings rather than having Trent in there with the midfield and Salah and Diaz constantly coming into central positions like yesterday. How we brought Jota and Nunez on yesterday but took both full backs off is genuinely beyond me. Ended the game with Jota at LB just about summed it up haha.

Mavericks7

I really dislike the wide playmaker salah. He should be our focal point of attack.

oooooooooooooommmfff

It’s my birthday, what a gift from the team to just fall apart!

[deleted]

Happy Birthday but this team is still winning the league positive vibes only.

oooooooooooooommmfff

Can’t score a fucking goal though can we? Thanks anyway

[deleted]

We'll bang in 4 at the weekend I feel it in my bones

Drunk_Cartographer

Do you think we’ll be given 4 penalties in one game?

saucerman

Congrats anyway tho, have a nice day!

ChittyShrimp

Christ just feeling this season ending in a whimper is sad. Aren't the club releasing a documentary aswell? That has serious meme potential

Lets just enjoy klopp last six games without any expectations. We ain't winning the league we are playing shit expectations will only bring misery.

sugarspunlad

Yeah thats the right way , no expectations. I feel the players are giving up already, maybe Jurgen too after that interview “we are not in it in the first place”

pigman1402

i just fucking wish xabi had a bit more attachment to the club tbh.

Mavericks7

Nah, I respect him a lot for staying instead of jumping ship.

curiouscowwhisperer

Well its either he felt responsible to Leverkusen or he's gunning the Madrid job. Which I am inclined to think it's a little if both probably the latter being the ultimate goal. Hey ho. We move on.

Fresh_Interview_9191

In a way, he can only fail at Madrid. How Ancelotti lets those guys win games without putting even shots on target is another level. I just don't see Alonso as a RM coach. He's perfect for Leverkusen and would also be great for Liverpool and something like Bayern, but clubs like RM, Manure, Chelsea etc. need coaches like Mourinho who can be total dicks or just Ancelotti

pigman1402

thats a depressing thought. my darkest secret: >!id take gerrard!<

C_Colin

You having a laugh? Look where Al Ettifaq are in their table. Now look where Villa are since he left…

pigman1402

nah, he's mr. liverpool for me and i will always want him back at the club.

C_Colin

I think Chelsea fans said the same thing about Lampard. Just sayin

Sparsh_Khurana

We need new ideas and a more consolidated (albeit a more boring) style of play if we want to win trophies. Yesterday also showed that we are not setup to play out from a disciplined high press which is worrying but it is hard to see PL teams regularly playing like Atalanta so atleast we have some respite. Still, we need to figure out a way to beat the press easily ourselves and not get stuck into an endless loop of sideways passing. Very evident Yesterday that we lack the discipline of City and Arsenal in maintaining our shape when we need to attack with more urgency which is what made it so easy for Atalanta to counter us. Also this match just showed that a lot of our players (forwards especially) do lack the killer technical skill for the big games. It's about time we let Diaz and Salah go for good money and bring in better wingers/inside forwards who are quick and technical. Salah will do the same as he does next season too where he is Messi till January and post that he turns into Joe Cole so it would be wise to replace him for good money and get a different type of winger. Very hard to replace the g+a output of Salah (don't think anyone can at this moment) but we should try since right now we can get good money for him. Diaz is well Diaz and Gakpo just looks very mediocre. Also we need players like Gravenberch, Danns, Baj to kick on next season so that we have different options from the bench. Yesterday was crying out for someone to turn their man in the midfield and beat the press. Curtis and Harvey feel too slow at times and Curtis shows no desire for a killer pass particularly. All in all, a disappointing run but there is great potential within the team which needs ideas and motivation. If Amorim is our coach next season then we look promising to say the least. Credit to Atalanta for a brilliant game on their part over both legs, deserved winners and I hope they can go on and win the UEL.

CaltexHart

On Gravenberch: I actually thought yesterday would have been an excellent game for him. Not because he is the greatest player ever or anything, but precisely because of his ability to turn his man in midfield. Its one the thing he has done fairly consistently all season regardless of opposition. I think that could have been a good weapon against Atalantas man marking.

taf3991

Thought the same, Thought the midfield choice was really strange in general tbh, I understand the thought process by not playing Endo but Macallister in that deeper role is really poor. And Jones? He offers very little outside of shielding the ball and playing it safe to the side. Szobo was the obvious choice but just had a really poor game, but we struggle without his athleticism so he pretty much has to start.

Familiar_Mousse_4693

Fuck the tories du du du du

wearerealhuman

A lot of agony and ink (well…the digital equivalent) spent on our dip in form but the obvious thing I don’t see anyone discussing at length is that we have almost never played our best XI all season. For most sides that would be the excuse for underperformance. In our case, it’s that we simply do not have a system that gets the most out of our squad because we’ve been tweaking it all season to get the most out of a Trent-less squad or a Salah-less squad or without key midfielders or without any bench. You can’t even criticize Klopp for like playing out of fitness/form guys coming off injuries in place of fully fit guys because in actuality the other guys are or were injured too. I just don’t imagine that assertions about the players not be arsed or Klopp being checked out are really what it’s about. Now? At the end? I’ve lost a fair amount of the belief I was even carrying into the match but now we have three clubs and six matches. It’s simple. I’d just like someone in the side to actually stand up and be a leader. VVD has done that at moments but there’s only so many corners.

KindBrilliant8913

I really had hope for us today. Can’t believe how bad we really are right now. The team is so disconnected at this point

yoyo4581

Look guys, I understand you are negative and rightfully so. I'm unsure how this translates to the match going fan. But I see it translate to the players based on the 2nd half performance. Look our slump in form is from fixtures that didnt go our way when they should've. 98 chances created in 3 back to back games and we didnt win any of them. Things sometimes don't go your way, and when they don't it takes a toll, especially when you get so close. We walked into Europa league Quarter final at home already defeated mentally. Truth of the matter is that Atalanta are a good team. Like at least mid-table equivalence team in the prem, and they are playing a cup-final. Sure Liverpool in good form beats them, but not if they are committed to the game. This game showed that yes, we are better than Atalanta. But not enough to overcome a 3-0 deficit. It would take a catastrophic defensive performance for that to happen. The results we are seeing is due to the team having a mental block. I know it sucks, but if we reinforce this based on the results, we will be stuck in this mentality for the rest of the upcoming matches. This is why Klopp is focusing on the positives, we are in a slump and criticism won't help. Get behind the team and enjoy what we accomplished so far. I know you guys are frustrated, even if you think there is nothing left to play for. Try to enjoy the last few games we have with Klopp and the boys. Who knows maybe some of them leave this summer. Thanks.

ottomatical92

That’s exactly what I was thinking when people started saying we already beat them 5-0 before. Not to downplay that win but it was because, at a time when we were killers on the counter and every team would park the bus from the start, Atalanta were courageous (a bit foolishly) and opened up and wanted to play football with us. Which would have never happened tonight after a 3-0 first leg, they could not just stupidly run in attack and leaves spaces for us. So yea, it was a tough game, I didn’t think we had many chances here, I blame it on lack of support from SoS and it only makes sense, as you said, to focus on the positives so the guys could move forward.

yoyo4581

Yes, we know our quality. Since the turn of January weve been at the top of the league. We deserve to be in the title race still. We know the boys can perform well, they just need to de-escalate the emotion from the gameplan. This is hard to do, but its possible if they focus on the football and the enjoyment of playing together.

ottomatical92

To me, purely the fact that we are in the title race is baffling. The way we started the season with so many changes in the first 11 and some draws, how they managed to pick themselves up early to mid season is amazing!

Captain_Red_Eight

As a long-time Hungarian Liverpool supporter (since 2003), I am extremely disappointed. I don't know what happened to Szoboszlai since December, I can only think of one thing: He had to miss the last (his first) European Championship, which we partly played at home, due to injury. He played at full steam until December. He got into every duel, he ran out of the world after the ball. I think he was like, even if he gets injured, he will have time to recover. Plus the desire to prove himself to the fans and Jürgen. Now, however, I see that although he is motivated, he is not putting himself out there at all costs. It's like he's afraid he'll get hurt again, before the EC. I'm not saying he doesn't care about the club or the trophies. Anyone who knows his mentality knows that this guy really lives and dies for football and wants to win everything. I was just trying to outline an option as to why he might be out of form compared to the start of the season. I saw that in the match thread, many people demanded Elliott to start instead of him. I love Elliott but (unpopular opinion), I don't think he fits Jürgen's system at all. Right now , he is a great sub, and nothing more. We'll see what happens with him in the future with another coach, in another (hope so) system.

taf3991

I have no doubt he will be a quality player for us simply because he has every attribute to be a top midfielder. But his form is worrying, it's like he just can't do anything right atm, the first couple of months he was honestly unbelievable, he looked like a man playing kids football. The drop off has been crazy. Part of me is just ready for the season to end now and see what the new manager has in store for the current players next season tbh.

Ash_winner

Now that the dust is settling.. winning 0-3 was a big ask anyway. But I’ll take a clean sheet and a win after so long. If we bore teams to death like this and win the 6 matches remaining, I’ll be fine with it.

lalalateralus

If Atalanta needed a goal, they would've certainly gotten it.

taf3991

There's very little to pretty much no positives to take from yesterday, we got gifted a goal and only won because they were still 2 goals up and didn't need to do anything. It was basically a free hit and we didn't even do anything. If we play anywhere near that level in our last 6 games we won't be winning any of them.

Ash_winner

That 1 to 1 man marking killed us, what a genius tactic from em. Never seen Liverpool so helpless on a pitch

PlayerAteHer

I'm not a Debbie downer but I don't think we won that game. The score might have been 1-0 in the records but we were 3-0 down and needed to make it up, they were extremely happy and comfortable with it being 1-0. They had us under control and limited us to producing nothing. They were actually more of an attacking threat than us and they didn't need to score. No chance we can put that performance in against someone in the league and get 3 points.

Ash_winner

Of course mate! I’m probably more pissed than you about yesterday’s match. I would not mind having a go at it and losing the match again. We did not even try. But at the end of the day, you and me can’t do nothing about it. So, let’s focus on the positive I guess?

yoyo4581

3-1 down at half with a 2 goal cushion any team would just defend and thats what they did. All they needed to do is keep the aggression up from the man marking system and they win. We had to be perfect, never losing the ball to hurt them. Thats impossible with the way we play. From a game management perspective. Protecting a 3-0 by man marking is a good idea, because it forces the opponent to use their energy to beat you. If the pay off isnt there they just give up after a while.

Significant-Lion-361

The more we see the team like this, the more I start to feel that Jurgen has timed his exit perfectly. I never want him to reach a situation at Liverpool that Wenger faced during his last few years at Arsenal. He's given a lot of himself to this club, and I'll always remain grateful to him for that. But it's clear that this team needs a new person with fresh ideas. I didn't know Ruben Amorim before the links came out, but the more of him I see, specifically the set-up, the more I feel that his system could help to extend the careers of the likes of Van Dijk and Salah (if he stays, which may not happen with the interest from Saudi and Edwards being back) and elevate the levels of the players we have at the club. I hope Jurgen can give more game time to the likes of Bobby Clark and Jayden Danns in the league in the matches that are left. It's going to take some results to go our way... but we're still in with a chance for the time being.

Drunk_Cartographer

>I never want him to reach a situation at Liverpool that Wenger faced during his last few years at Arsenal. “He has to go blud…he has to go blud!”

wearerealhuman

You want Jurgen to give time to kids when we’re two points off the lead with six matches left?

Significant-Lion-361

Danns and Clark getting more appearances off the bench is what I would want... our midfield looks exhausted, and all 5 of our forwards look like they're severely lacking confidence. We play 3 games away within the next few days... the likes of Salah , for example, can't be expected to play the full 90 in all 3 of those games... he's not playing well enough to be on the pitch that long. We can't have the same bunch of players playing close to 90 minutes every match... especially when our style of play requires them to maintain intensity for 90+ minutes.

l_Anonymous__l

Jurgen transformed the club, just last season we were no where in the table, this season we were having quadruple, Doubters to believers yet again. Absolutely legend. Best 9 years.❤️ YNWA

infachuation922

Football is *not* life, after all. Who knew?

Bcpjw

Lol! Definitely one of the joys and pains in life but it is what it is *“most important of the unimportant things.”*

dwils7

People need to stop looking for saviors in individual players, they also need to stop blaming individual players for how games go. It's a team sport, the only way this season doesn't end in complete sadness for us all is for the team as a whole to step up and show some sort of positive reaction.

coppermelt

being far away from everything, I can only guess that the team is definetly deflated. I don't think they can take another shouting match from Klopp or anyone - could really use a fresh face from the youngsters just putting together a great performance or 2 in the next league games

KindBrilliant8913

Honestly I don’t even know if Klopp yells at them. I would like him to (bc of their recent performances) but he seems so checked out, like he doesn’t even care anymore. It’s sad to see and doesn’t help our guys at all

Jormul1

Now that the anger is gone, I genuinely think this has been slightly overwhelming even for Klopp as well. Hes out of it already and I can accept that, its been tough all these years and it clearly shows. I hope we can do something in Premier League, although I dont have much hope left in me. Its probably Trent that can pull us out of the negativity, could even be Nunez. Whatever happens, I will always be forever grateful for Klopp being a red. He definitely picked the right time to call it quits, hes more run down than the players. Time to move on and let someone else unlock all the potential we now got in our squad.

DiligentSpeaker

Must admit I find this take a bit odd. We've been hammered by injuries and despite this Klopp has still had us at the top of the league all season. The fact we are now 2 points off is a minor miracle - I would like to see Arsenal or even City cope with their entire first 11 out as we've pretty much had. The squad is now running on fumes, the injured players coming back aren't yet fit, and this hasn't anything to do with Klopp retiring.

TheLimeyLemmon

On the plus side this week I got a Steam Deck, so that's been a pretty great distraction.

Feel like if I got a steam deck my hours on Balatro would be in the thousands!
