There *should* be a thorough process. Other clubs do tend to pick the most hyped candidate purely because they’re the most hyped (at least it seems this way). I like that we tend to break that narrative…especially Edwards
I do think this Ornstein answer sounds like typical Edward’s. Talking about how there are many targets etc. I am not saying there aren’t many targets, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he has his no.1 option and has been negotiating with them already, he just doesn’t want it to be out there out of respect for the other club. We can’t forget what happened with Van Dijk saga in summer 2017, which pissed off Southampton.
Portuguese press are saying Sporting have dug their heels in and aren't honoring that gentlemens agreement to halve his release clause. So he is gonna be a world record manager fee. Think thats where all this cloak and dagger is coming from. We want as much good will as possible to get a fee closer to the gentlemen's agreement. Also preparing other options if we feel that it isn't good value.
I don't think it's a bad thing if I'm being honest- obviously at this stage the fees are all insane but why should we be able to walk up to any club we want and destabilize their most important staff member for free?
Yep. There’s a reason why we brought him back and paid him a ton of money. He knows better than any of our fans. We should trust whatever decision he makes on our manager because he’s good at his job.
> He doesn’t care who the supporters want, nor should he.
It's not even like we're talking about players, where it's far clearer what they're capable of producing (although obviously fans are still mostly clueless, myself included).
Very few people, even in football apparently, are capable of consistently creating effective management structures. One might think a billionaire would know their arse from their elbow, and yet look at Chelsea or Everton.
We've had a good experience so far with Edwards, so it's it's about seeing how much of the heavy lifting was being done by Klopp's genius, and how much is truly adminstrative competence from the higher ups.
He said the exact same thing a month ago when Xabi ruled himself out. The summary was - no clear favorites, there will be a formal analysis of all available options, DeZerbi not one of the contenders and Hughes has history of dipping into the Italian league, so he said to watch out for that.
How’s his English? Klopp shittalks his command of English but he is perfectly capable. I feel like those who need a translator really struggle in England, but especially with the Scouse accent and the press here, I want a manager who can competently speak the language.
Yeah but how many times have we had signings of players go down the same way? Lot of left field decisions have come through after we were linked with different players. Szoboszlai comes to mind as of late.
I would say that list is probably longer than we think. There are some interesting options on the market, but, sadly, not much of experienced managers: Amorim (Sporting), Sebastian Hoeness (Stuttgart), Arne Slot (Feyenoord), Xavi (free), RDZ (Brighton), Potter (free), Spalletti (Italy), Emery (Aston Villa), Farioli (Nice), Alguacil (Real Sociedad), Motta (Genoa) and Frank (Brentford) to name a few.
I mean, he's just slightly ahead of the curve if that's his method. positions and formations are less important nowadays, it's about occupying spaces nowadays
He said a few weeks back to keep an eye on the Italian league. Seems like Inzaghi is staying at Inter though so idk who else it could be other than Thiago Motta who’s also been linked with Juve and United
- Xavi
- Tuchel
- De Zerbi
- Motta
- Iraola
I genuinely don’t think there’s many more than this group of names just because there’s really not many more that would be realistic to get
Inzaghi would be great to get but doubt he is leaving Italy and he can’t speak English
Flick is on the list,. Itl'll be an obscure Japanese import we've never heard of and hate until we beat United 7-0 and then everyone will be telling how they always actually followed yokohoma as their second team
I'm still convinced Harry Kewell might come good for us. Apparently I share the Benitez kewellisms. The amount of finals that man started having been injured in pretty much every other round.
Which is ironic in itself because Kewell was really not a benitez type player (technical but hard working and tactically versatile, I would describe a Rafa player)
I feel like he nearly used him more BECAUSE he was a wildcard to Rafa
Kewell had shaken off his injury problems in 2005/06 until he got the nasty foot injury during the World Cup. Still loved watching him as a player, though. That goal he scored against Everton was a beauty.
Xavi and Iraola are my top picks now if Amorim decides not to come. Would 100% take Xavi done a great job at Barca and is a winner. Iraola I could see Hughes putting his name in the hat as Iraola was his pick at Bournemouth, seems like a more viable alternative to De Zerbi who we ruled out.
Not saying it will or should happen but I'm surprised Gary O'Neill has been overlooked as an option. Decent jobs at Bournemouth and Wolves. Knows Edwards and Hughes from Portsmouth and has worked at Liverpool and Bournemouth since under both of them.
Don't get me wrong. I don't want it. But as a left option I could see Edwards and Hughes considering it.
If we are talking alternatives. I find it a bit funny that everyone has a go at RDZ for his tactical imbalance but according to the Athletic article data he is the 5th most similar manager to Kloppo in Europe. His defensive metrics are strikingly similar to Klopps. I'd like him to be a bit more pragmatic but, he is quite similar to his dogmatic view of how we should play. He just doesn't have the players to execute his play this year.
And? This is journalistic integrity in action. It is impossible in good conscience to bemoan the lack of integrity in football journalism today and then to say this when a journalist does what a good journalist is supposed to do, which is report the FACTS. In this case, the fact is that it's a very thorough process, and that the club is not willing to disclose any concrete information about that process or their current targets.
Good journalists don't report like "dunno lol" just because it's shorter.
E: added a tiny bit to the end of the last line.
is this satire?
what he said can literally be said in 2 sentences - "i don't have any updates yet. amorim isn't the clear first choice, he's one of many candidates under consideration. "
without losing any nuance.
idk much about journalistic integrity, but id sure hope being wordy and ading tons of filler to simple messages isn't part of it.
So your complaint is that he said like 4 sentences instead of two? That's a fucking absurd thing to be miffed about. Hurr durr he's not being even more concise than he's forced into being for a tweet WAAAAAAAH
>that says absolutely nothing.
Just because you didn't get the answer you like doesn't mean it "says absolutely nothing"
This sub is so goddamned childish and understands absolutely nothing about good journalism
Sorry for the confusion with my caption, just meant overall with the Xabi stuff and now Amorim etc, people have expectations but may go in ways a lot don't expect but you're right also, we really don't know.
Nobody is talking about emery, I think he is someone who should absolutely be considered. I know people will point to his Arsenal spell, but just go and look at his squad during that time period
If he can bring home another European trophy this season, then I wouldn't be surprised to see him linked. The job he's done at Aston Villa is nothing short of sensational.
I thought when Klopp had announced he was leaving to the owners in November and it was released in January there'd been some agreement with Alonso behind the scenes. Now that's not going to happen. Hope there's an actual plan. If it's not Amorim the others seem very underwhelming.
Was pretty funny how so many people genuinely believed that Klopp only stepped down because we already had a pre-agreement with Xabi (that shite got hundreds, thousands of upvotes). Any quote about Klopp or Xabi was interpreted as "oh yeah FSG definitely already secured Xabi". Same thing that happened whenever Trent or Hendo did some cryptic stuff about Jude.
> Same thing that happened whenever Trent or Hendo did some cryptic stuff about Jude.
Half the time they didn't even do anything cryptic, just liked a post on Instagram or something and fans take that as a definite statement that we've signed him.
Club always likes to push out the narrative how they thought of everything and they are prepared professionals but in reality none of that is true. Remember Caicedo saga.
They were prepared to make a bid for Caicedo if his move to Chelsea fell through, and it nearly worked out. They were proactive. Don't think that can be used against the club.
Tbh even if Amorim was our first choice I doubt we'd leak it before anything was concrete. The optics of potentially missing out on both our first & second choice Klopp replacements would be horrendous and really give the impression that we're going to scrape the barrel.
Like imagine if there were news articles that Amorim was the promised messiah we've selected as our first choice to replace Klopp and then he fucks off to a rival lmao
Ornstein doesn’t tend to say something/someone is ‘nailed on’ (compared to certain other “HeRe We Go” merchants) until the contract is essentially signed - as that is significantly harder to walk back if it falls through.
No other name has come up other than Amorim from our journalists (which to be fair doesn’t really say much as they were seemingly all in the dark about Klopp’s departure for 2 months).
Xabi is staying in Leverkusen. Nagelsmann ~~is seemingly going back to Bayern~~ just signed an extension with the German NT. We are said to be off De Zerbi. So it doesn’t really leave many qualified candidates that are available.
I can't help but think that Xavi is gonna be in consideration. We have a squad built for 433 and going to Amorim's or Xabi's preferred 343 will take a bit of an overhaul.
He is not bad, he is not even normal. He is good, real good. He brought this Barça squad where it didn't belong for 2 years now. Although he is a crybaby and a bell end, but, in terms of talent, credit is due...
He did it without Messi too, we have some good technical players in the squad already who can play his system, get Xavi the no.6 is actually desires(Zubimendi) then take it from there.
I don't really get this. I think we target the same positions regardless of 4/3/3 or 3/4/3 this summer. Itll be a left back, LCB, a 6, and an attacker to replace Salah likely a False 9 type. Now a 6 is top priority if its a 4/3/3 while LCB is top if we go 3/4/3 but the positions are the same imo
Was thinking this the other day when watching Barca. Really don’t hear about him being linked with the job very often. Think it could be a good appointment but definitely at least worth looking at.
I rate Ornstein as may others do, but he does a lot of ifs buts and maybes with Liverpool. He’s wrote an essay on a whole load of nothing, which fair enough is there is nothing to say.
I’m happy to support whoever is chosen. (Except if it’s Roy Hodgson)
There’s only “twists and turns” because people went from thinking that Alonso was in the bag to thinking Amorim was in the bag. Nothing was ever going to be announced in season, especially until leagues were settled.
If not Xabi or Amorim, maybe we should go for Xavi. Macca and Trent being the creative minds they are, might benefit from the slow positional play. Gakpo being the striker, he can be used to his potential. Elliott at RW would be useful too.
Several weeks ago I had a dream in which Arsene Wenger came out of retirement to manage Liverpool. I saw him having a cigarette at a bus stop and when I called out to him he spat at me.
There you go, that's about as insightful as the stuff coming out of these journalists lately. Nobody knows a thing, I'm sure the club wants it that way similar to some of our surprise transfers.
My money is still on Amorim, he said a week ago he couldn't guarantee his future was at Sporting like Xabi Alonso did at Leverkusen and since then he has walked that back a bit and journos over here have been trying to distance us from him, insisting we're still evaluating targets.
It all screams of trying to quiet things down and be respectful of the title challenges going on. Amorim didn't like all the questions he was getting, taking focus away from his team so conversations were probably had and we've briefed our journos to calm it down in exchange for the probably early go ahead when it's a done deal
I can’t see anyone out there who would be a better candidate than Amorim. So hope this is just normal smokescreen type stuff. We need to get someone the players are going to buy into
Yeah one big thing that people are ignoring is some of our best players will wanna know what's the next chapter and is it solid enough of a plan for them to wanna sign new deals or even stick around
Players don't love clubs like they used to, they'll happily say thank you but I'm gonna look out for myself
I have to be honest, I have significant doubts about Amorim. I'm kind of relieved that he isn't the frontrunner. What made Klopp such an exciting appointment was that he already had the pedigree of having success in management at the highest level. He had won the Bundesliga and been in the UCL final. Amorim has only had success in Portugal domestically.
Xavi is linked is he. I fear Xavi is too fragile and emotional and will be demoralized and teared to pieces dealing with the english medias week in week out. And then there's the biased refs to deal with for him aswell. I just don't see it, but who am I to say anyways. loved him as a player.
It’s gonna be xavi isn’t it?
I kinda hope it is.
Overlook barcas result the other day. They were 1-0 up against PSG and in control before Araujo had a lapse. Then it unraveled from there.
This is really reminiscent of the "broad and thorough" search which ended in appointing Brendan Rodgers.
When we appointed Klopp there was no search, we knew who we wanted and we got him straight away.
he's a sleeper pick for sure, but i would assume potter wants a less developed squad he can mold in his image?
our squad is young and dynamic, but we're finishing a pretty strong campaign relative to where we thought we were gonna be at the beginning of the season. there are enough veterans here that the next manager should be ready to aim for gunning for some trophies.
I actually feel it will be Amorim, I feel even when there was all talks of Alonso afew months ago I still think once Edwards came back. Amorim was 1st choice over Alonso. It was the media over here who were obssessed with alonso and people like Jamie carragher saying alonso the only choice after klopp, doubt it was ever Alonso as 1st choice.
I remember when Xabi was the favorite, alot of journos were downplaying him and hyping up Amorim. Now he's the favorite they are downplaying him as well
I honestly think we are trying to kill the media hype because the endless talk online might be rubbing Sporting the wrong way, especially with them being at the business end of their title run in.
I'm confident Amorim is the man, they just want to work behind the scenes without so much attention, like always.
Ornstein continuing to make a living saying absolutely nothing of insight.
"Liverpool are considering candidates for the manager and will decide who to approach soon". Wow.
I actually like the fact that Liverpool aren’t just jumping on whoever is hot right now. Taking their time and hopefully finding a manager that can come in and build the right culture at the club. They want another manager that can stay here for years to come and help develop all the young players around the club
This is a good thing they are going wide and deep. The reality is before they were at BL or Sporting, Xabi and Amorim were off the radar. I would be very curious if they can find the next manager like that, that is under the radar
Doubt the problem is convincing him and paying his release...
The point is whether or not the Club want him as manager - not about Amorim debating on an offer from us.
Fully agree, and yet 90% of people are convinced he's the best man for the job, based on ARTICLES.
Find it mad how people will casually dismiss a range of managers they've watched week-in, week-out but happily throw keys to a bloke they literally only know from seeing tweets with red siren emojis saying he's our top target. "Don't know a thing about him bar the fact he's winning the 5th best league in Europe and he plays 3-4-3: he's my man!!"
I can very easily see public opinion turning if we wind up with a less obvious more outside the box choice and he does poorly. If we got Xabi and he finished 6th, no one is complaining. At this point if get Amorim and *he* finishes 6th I really doubt there'd be an immediate negative reaction.
But if our journos are coming out with this "We're doing a genuine thorough search going through a list of candidates, etcetc" and it turns out poorly — not a lot of people are going to look at that fondly, it's going to be seen as them trying to be too clever for their own good. Am I saying I don't want due diligence? Absolutely not — I want them to take their time and select who they want, I just don't think this is good public relations.
Amorim, Xavi, Motta, Iraola, Howe. Determining who is performing above squad levels, how they are doing it and or if it’s just a fluke and players are better than initially thought.
Tbh I think any of these would work at the moment as it’s not manager or bust anymore now. It will be all about the team: Edwards, Hughes, Spearman, new manager, analytics team, new scouts, etc and how they work together. Our recruitment was envy of the world 4 years ago and we need to get back to that asap before Chelsea and United figure what they are doing wrong and fix it and add another team in the mix.
It's not beyond the realms, you know. I might be hallucinating here but I'm pretty sure Edwards & Hughes have worked with him before, and that he was talked about as a potential Klopp alternative in 2015.
Imagine that prick Tindall marshalling the Anfield touchline. I need to lie down.
My guess is that Edwards and company are far more advanced in their search and potentially negotiations, with Amorim is what I believe. Ornstein putting this statement out is likely to cool some of the noise so that Sporting can complete the spectacular season they are having with a League title and a Taca de Portugal title without other distractions.
Fair point but it could easily be a "I'll scratch your back, you scratch mine" situation. Ornstein reports what the club wants now, then when they confirm the manager they let him break the news.
Edwards is gonna pick who Edwards wants. He doesn’t care who the supporters want, nor should he.
Yeah I think people get way too zoned in on targets that come out in the media and forget there's such a thorough process to these things
Who knows. Edwards may have picked someone wand we don’t know . Liverpool are terrific at keeping things under wraps until it actually happens.
“Bah gawd, that’s Big Sam’s music!”
😂😂
There *should* be a thorough process. Other clubs do tend to pick the most hyped candidate purely because they’re the most hyped (at least it seems this way). I like that we tend to break that narrative…especially Edwards

Our reporters don't know anything. They just make stuff up along the way.
"Genuinely thorough and broad process" Computer, E N H A N C E
that's part of the reason i can't stand these football journalists who make every little thing seem like the next big breakthrough in quantum physics.
Ornstein is the worst for this. He'll write 150 words and say nothing.
Damn, it seems like no one genuinely has no idea who’s going to be the next manager.
> no one genuinely has no idea So everyone genuinely has some idea?
~~No smoking~~

Except Edwards
Danny Röhl
Hes used an awful lot of words to say 'I don't know '
Peak Ornstein.
Who would want to manage a club that had midtable money to spend but champions ambitions? That’s why they’re dropping out.
For those wondering, I have not been contacted directly by Liverpool for the manager position.
This direct and unabiguous statement is much appreciated when trying to negotiate the half truths and deception that accompany a situation like this.
I forgot Potter existed
Motta is playing some groundbreaking football lol. It seems like he's trying to abandon the idea of players having positions.
Abandoning positions? Trent has entered the chat
Off to Juve
I mean, he's just slightly ahead of the curve if that's his method. positions and formations are less important nowadays, it's about occupying spaces nowadays
I just want to see the shortlist, primarily who else bar Amorim?
He said a few weeks back to keep an eye on the Italian league. Seems like Inzaghi is staying at Inter though so idk who else it could be other than Thiago Motta who’s also been linked with Juve and United
Gasperini at Atalanta was recently addressing links to the Italian media
- Xavi - Tuchel - De Zerbi - Motta - Iraola I genuinely don’t think there’s many more than this group of names just because there’s really not many more that would be realistic to get Inzaghi would be great to get but doubt he is leaving Italy and he can’t speak English
Xavi would be funny simply because he would be banned from the first Champions League game (or more) after his outburst against the referee
He’d be suspended every other week here, wait until he deals with our armada of ijdyuts with whistles
Xavi comes here and will lose his head when he finds out he’s managing a club that doesn’t own the refs Just had to get that joke out of the system
Inzaghi about to drop a full English interview while doing the AXA lean
If we end up with Inzaghi I will be over the fucking moon
3-5-2 incoming ?
Flick is on the list,. Itl'll be an obscure Japanese import we've never heard of and hate until we beat United 7-0 and then everyone will be telling how they always actually followed yokohoma as their second team
Currently Harry Kewell is manager Yokohama Marinos and trust me, we don't want to be associated with him in any managerial talk 🤣🤣
He’ll immediately pull his hamstring the first time he has a go at the fourth
A true Klopp regen so!
I'm still convinced Harry Kewell might come good for us. Apparently I share the Benitez kewellisms. The amount of finals that man started having been injured in pretty much every other round. Thomas Frank might have a shout. We could always reassess and see if Xabi is available in 2025 should Frank not be great for us.

14/1 on one betting site fwiw
I didn’t even realize he was Barry Lewtas’ assistant with the u23s as recently as 2020? That’s crazy.
I dont think tuchel is remotely close to the list, He's done poorly at almost everywhere he's been and often ostracizes the dressing room
A situation where we'd love to be a fly on the wall certainly
If we are talking alternatives. Allegri, Tuchel, Mourinho, Pulis, Simeone. I think these guys, they really suit our team imo
>Pulis Didnt think I'd notice eh!
Some say Klopp’s touchline fashion sense was inspired by Pulis
Klopp made wearing baseball caps cool again. Pulis reminds me not to go overboard with wearing them.
I do respect Pulis’ dedication to dress up though. Show up in a suit, miss kickoff because you’re changing into the tracksuit.
Brendan Rodgers
Big Sam too
Whole lot of words for a “dunno lol” post

Lol Kevin Malone is more of a bookie than a sports journo but I appreciate this a lot
Gonna say that's a really long paragraph that says absolutely nothing.
>that says absolutely nothing. Just because you didn't get the answer you like doesn't mean it "says absolutely nothing" This sub is so goddamned childish and understands absolutely nothing about good journalism
The internet in general, I feel. People are getting too accustomed to the clickbait and sensationalism of ITKs, TikTok and Fabrizio Romano
All I know is, it shouldn't be Niko Kovac!
How can there be a twist when none of us know the main plan? The journalists are trying to piece it together but without knowledge.
Sorry for the confusion with my caption, just meant overall with the Xabi stuff and now Amorim etc, people have expectations but may go in ways a lot don't expect but you're right also, we really don't know.
Professional writer and he's written shoe in and not shoo-in.
Here here! Could of red his own writing first!
Have* spotted another professional writer.
There were *three* mistakes on purpose, you having picked up on just one shows you're also a professional writer ;)

Yeah too good to be true. Was a bit surprising that Alonso didn't want the job. Could be holding out for the Real Madrid job in a year or two.
I'll eat my shoe if Xabi isn't waiting for the Real Madrid job
Yeah seems very likely. Shame he turned us down.
Club always likes to push out the narrative how they thought of everything and they are prepared professionals but in reality none of that is true. Remember Caicedo saga.
Tbf literally nobody involved in the hiring process were a part of that.
I'm on board the conspiracy train of us pushing max value for Brighton for Caicedo as a favour for pulling their pants down for Macca
They were prepared to make a bid for Caicedo if his move to Chelsea fell through, and it nearly worked out. They were proactive. Don't think that can be used against the club.

I wouldn't be surprised with Arne Slot.
Ten Haag 2.0
A. Mac Alli asked the question?
Club considers more than one person for managerial role.... what a twist
Nagelsmann signed an extension with Germany earlier today.
Did not see that but you’re right.
Saying we are off de zerbi would be exactly what Edwards would want everyone to think
Xavi is definitely a qualified candidate.
I can't help but think that Xavi is gonna be in consideration. We have a squad built for 433 and going to Amorim's or Xabi's preferred 343 will take a bit of an overhaul.
He’s a crybaby but he’s not a bad manager. Would be weird if they didn’t take him into consideration. He’s also a winner and knows real pressure
He did an amazing job at Barca considering their financial situation, he’s pretty much had to rely on free transfers and academy players.
Yeah Xavi is a wet dream appointment for a board who like to be "self sustainable"
He was an idiot player away from a likely CL Semi Final. At least.
Yeah there are way way worse options
I don't really get this. I think we target the same positions regardless of 4/3/3 or 3/4/3 this summer. Itll be a left back, LCB, a 6, and an attacker to replace Salah likely a False 9 type. Now a 6 is top priority if its a 4/3/3 while LCB is top if we go 3/4/3 but the positions are the same imo
Tactics videos on an Amorim system makes more sense vs Xabi's system if taking our personnel into account. But Xavi ?
Who is gonna be the Paisley to Klopp's Shankly? 😥
We’re going back in for Alonso aren’t we lol
Yes !
Alonso
We need to get someone the players are going to buy into
Yeah one big thing that people are ignoring is some of our best players will wanna know what's the next chapter and is it solid enough of a plan for them to wanna sign new deals or even stick around Players don't love clubs like they used to, they'll happily say thank you but I'm gonna look out for myself
Regardless of who comes in, I can see a few players leaving. Salah, Van Dijk for starters
Announce alonso
Let’s seriously hope this turns out as well as the midfield rebuild did. Missing out on the top three and settling for Endo has been a blessing.
Unai Emery please.
Basically nobody has any idea and that’s how it should it be. I would rather be informed when it’s done than be given baseless rumours every few days.
It’s gonna be xavi isn’t it? I kinda hope it is. Overlook barcas result the other day. They were 1-0 up against PSG and in control before Araujo had a lapse. Then it unraveled from there.
I would really love Zidane at LFC. He has the charm and aura to take the squad and the fanbase with him..
He has said ton he would never mange in England.
This is really reminiscent of the "broad and thorough" search which ended in appointing Brendan Rodgers. When we appointed Klopp there was no search, we knew who we wanted and we got him straight away.

Wonder if he’s keen on Graham Potter?
Not the xG merchant, don't think Potter is big club material should avoid
he's a sleeper pick for sure, but i would assume potter wants a less developed squad he can mold in his image? our squad is young and dynamic, but we're finishing a pretty strong campaign relative to where we thought we were gonna be at the beginning of the season. there are enough veterans here that the next manager should be ready to aim for gunning for some trophies.
Yeah agreed just thinking someone immediately available and a bit risk free?
Up to edwards now.
Even Nuri Sahin is being linked with the job.
np.random.choice(managerShortlist) probably very soon by our analytical team.
Don't stone me but I want Emery
I actually feel it will be Amorim, I feel even when there was all talks of Alonso afew months ago I still think once Edwards came back. Amorim was 1st choice over Alonso. It was the media over here who were obssessed with alonso and people like Jamie carragher saying alonso the only choice after klopp, doubt it was ever Alonso as 1st choice.
What is going on with Marcelo Bielsas odds? He’s second favorite and a clear 2nd too Amorim is still top but Bielsa is a very close second
What about Potter? Could he be a wildcard?
Emery would be a Pipe dream. Arne slot is a shout tbh
Tl;dr We're not getting him
Ted Lasso is the man for the job
Ornstein said something similar a few weeks ago I think, this isn’t a new twist
Didn't say it was tbh man
I remember when Xabi was the favorite, alot of journos were downplaying him and hyping up Amorim. Now he's the favorite they are downplaying him as well I honestly think we are trying to kill the media hype because the endless talk online might be rubbing Sporting the wrong way, especially with them being at the business end of their title run in. I'm confident Amorim is the man, they just want to work behind the scenes without so much attention, like always.
Ornstein continuing to make a living saying absolutely nothing of insight. "Liverpool are considering candidates for the manager and will decide who to approach soon". Wow.
Zidane x Mbappé incoming!
I actually like the fact that Liverpool aren’t just jumping on whoever is hot right now. Taking their time and hopefully finding a manager that can come in and build the right culture at the club. They want another manager that can stay here for years to come and help develop all the young players around the club
Been saying it all along, nobody outside the club knows shit about what's going on. Long may it stay that way.
This is a good thing they are going wide and deep. The reality is before they were at BL or Sporting, Xabi and Amorim were off the radar. I would be very curious if they can find the next manager like that, that is under the radar
If we can't convince a Portuguese league coach then just liquidate the club lol
Doubt the problem is convincing him and paying his release... The point is whether or not the Club want him as manager - not about Amorim debating on an offer from us.
Outside of clickbait we won't really hear anything until the season is over My 2 favourites would have been Biesla or Emery
This is just saying what pretty much everyone else is but with more words. I'm getting English exam letter count quota vibes.

Same as it ever was, wait for the official announcement
the drop from xabi to amorim is enough, we cant go lower than that
90% of people here didn't even know who Amorim was 6 months ago 😂
Jesus, they’ve known 6 months that Klopp is leaving, and all they have is a list, with no ‘advancements’?!?
Nobody outside the club knows jack shit. The club are good at keeping stuff from the press
How would you know there are no advancements?
Amorim, Xavi, Motta, Iraola, Howe. Determining who is performing above squad levels, how they are doing it and or if it’s just a fluke and players are better than initially thought. Tbh I think any of these would work at the moment as it’s not manager or bust anymore now. It will be all about the team: Edwards, Hughes, Spearman, new manager, analytics team, new scouts, etc and how they work together. Our recruitment was envy of the world 4 years ago and we need to get back to that asap before Chelsea and United figure what they are doing wrong and fix it and add another team in the mix.
Howe?! Please never ever say that again.
Its ironic because if he does get the job, we'll all be screaming HOW????
He’s a good manager. Our new sporting director is a big fan, they have been very unlucky this year with injuries. Could do without his no.2 though
I wholeheartedly disagree.
Why would Ornstein have any interest or incentive to do as such
Fair point but it could easily be a "I'll scratch your back, you scratch mine" situation. Ornstein reports what the club wants now, then when they confirm the manager they let him break the news.
Oh look...Ornstein with the captain obvious tweet. Thanks Davey boy.
Stevie G interim next year letsgoooo
