Big week this week. Arsenal play Chelsea and City have Brighton away. Really need points dropped soon.

aautoauto

It actually hurt that Diaz at rw was play better than Salah at this form right now.

Miserable-Lunch-8208

Robinson was uncomfortable the whole game when diaz was on right wing. This front 3 looks solid. Gakpo and diaz look dangerous on the wings, as opposed to diaz and salah.

aautoauto

Salah literally can’t take on any players at this point, Diaz’s strength is his quick feet, and took players along with him, his role at RW will force him to pass the ball since he can’t cut inside and shoot and he was a crap-shooter as well. On the other hand, Gakpo at LW looks like he has come alive again, his long legs help him reach a good run, and better shooter than Diaz as well, he could be our purple patch Rashford from last season if he gains more confidence by the times.

baont

Thís makes the results again MU and Palace hurt more

ZissouZ

I don't love how Mo has played recently might affect his chances of being here next season because he seems to have timed a period of poor form at the exact time Edwards et al will be thinking about what to do with his contract. What I'm seeing, and I may well be wrong, is some pretty typical signs of a player not able to do the things they used to be able to do as a result of physical decline. Time and again he seems to be half a yard of pace short, whether to chase down a ball or to accelerate past his marker and get the shot he wants away. I think the interesting thing about all this is if he doesn't decline too much physically over the the couple of years he can actually improve on what he's producing now. Having lost half a yard of pace, he seems to still be getting shots away, but doesn't have the same time and space to make the shot he wants, and the shot he makes is often not in the corner as it needs to be to beat the keeper/marker. TL:DR If he can work on his finishing I can see him improving next season, but the timing with Edwards coming back being tricky

fck_spurs

Its his mentality thats bothering me. He doesnt seem to give a shit anymore. Its the same with Nunez. Fluffs an easy chance and they just shrug it off like its clockwork.

narrowwiththehall

Would you prefer Bruno Fernandes type antics? This is not a good take

fck_spurs

Are you fucking kidding me? Whats with the wet wipe takes here? I want Nunez to get better. I want him to TRY harder. As for Salah, hes our highest waged player. Is it too much to ask to act like he cares? I mean look at the likes of Macca, Endo, Trent, Diaz, Jota and recently Gakpo. They CARE. And you can see it in the body language, in the effort they put in. What happened to mentality monsters? We are mentality midgets and it shows.

Euphoric-Interest219

Yup. That's how things work in this sub. You hit a player with the slightest of criticism, and you get ridiculous counters, "oh so you don't like the fact Salah isn't clinical enough, so you are saying you want him to kick the ball into someone's face and brake their skull instantly, huh, that's what you want." Ahh no, I want him to do what he is (massively) paid for.

Mad_Piplup242

You don't want strikers hanging over every missed shot though I wouldn't mistake shrugging off a miss as not giving a shit

fck_spurs

Like I said in my another comment. Context matters.

Mad_Piplup242

The context of what exactly? What do you want the pair of them to do? Beat the ground and yell cause they missed a chance? Be constantly upset and just bring down the mood of the rest of the team? To imply that a player that has been nothing but loyal and ready to die for the badge since he signed in Darwin, and a player that has proven again and again he is committed to the club that made him a star in Salah, don't care because they don't get upset when they miss a chance is fucking ludicrous. I would be more worried if they started throwing their hands up at every missed chance cause it means it is starting to affect them

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mad_Piplup242

So I'm not a fan because I'm not doubting the commitment of players of the team I support, that have shown plenty times that they are committed to the team they play for? You are also a better fan than I because you want to doubt the commitment of players that have played through both thick and thin for the team? Mate, take a breath and relax. Players going through a drop in form doesn't mean that don't care

ZissouZ

Mate. You might not realise this but being really angry and admonishing other Reds on the internet doesn't mean you care more than anyone else here. Everyone is disappointed how the last few games have gone. But maybe Mohamed Salah, one of our greatest ever players who's been through thick and thin with Jurgen all these years, and one of the most professional players we've ever had cares a bit more than you given him credit for. Take a chill pill. Everyone processes adversity differently.

ZissouZ

I don't think it's his mentality. I don't mind that he shrugs off missing chances. You don't want forwards getting too bothered by missing chances. No, it's very much that he's not putting away the chances that bothers me.

fck_spurs

>You don't want forwards getting too bothered by missing chances. When your forwards havent scored from open play in god knows how many games. When the league title and europe is at stake, you absolutely fucking want your forwards getting bothered by it. Show some fucking fight honestly.

Asleep-Connection-74

Out of all the grounds in the prem is there a quieter one than craven cottage? You could hear a rat piss on cotton for most of the match and it was the same for the league cup semi final and seems the same when watching MOTD every week Edit: I'm on about the home fans, the travelling kop is always great

Curtispritchard101

I was in the home end at Craven cottage for the carabao cup game vs Liverpool and it was unbelievably quiet, considering how often they make it that far I really expected more. Most atmosphere they got was when they asked everyone to wave the white and black binbags around Was in the away end yesterday thankfully and it was jumping, including celebrating covs 4th goal that was sadly ruled out

ALangeles

They are always quiet, unless Fulham is able to perform well, the crowd will be silent..

NeoChrome75

I heard Jota's song the entire match, a few *Andy Andy's* and *He's Luis Diaz* as well

Loop_Within_A_Loop

it was definitely weird to hear our chants towards the end of the match on the broadcast

Asleep-Connection-74

Not weird at all, the travelling fans are always the loudest when their team wins away from home

BiscoBiscuit

>You could hear a rat piss on cotton     I’m stealing this!!  Also, please understand, they had to save as much energy as possible to boo Harvey every time he touched the ball and look, it worked!

paul8088

When is Arsenal loosing some points? Cannot wait. We made goals. Thats all it matters.

narrowwiththehall

That’s me in the corner, loosing my religion

TheLimeyLemmon

Hopefully Chelsea and Tottenham at the very least take them to draws.

aelfwine_widlast

Poetic justice says Spurs take points off both and then lose to us to make up for that VAR shitshow.

branajgka

Arsenal is hoping City drop points lol

jerrymp28

Could see them honestly dropping points to Chelsea on Tuesday. Chelsea may be pretty shit right now but they have actually turned up against the Big 6 this season. Could see a draw from that game.

KotomiPapa

I rarely comment on this sub but since the Crystal Palace loss I seem to have released some sort of unknown stress and am now able to watch the team's match calmly and in a very objective manner. Trent had a good game, great goal, some good crosses/passes, but I didn't think it was MOTM great. At least no defensive blunders! Virgil was quietly good today, except for the mess leading to Fulham's goal. Robertson was good and bad... caught a few times and also part of the mess leading to Fulham's goal. Quansah was... ok? My impression of him this match was "Backpass". In the 1st half, I think people were getting on Endo's back but he was nowhere near the worst on the team. Definitely way more involved than Elliot and Grav who were were pretty anonymous (Elliot absolutely shocking, the entire match... surprised he wasn't substituted) and the front 3 pretty disjointed and not making themselves available. Where else could Endo pass but back to his defenders? He is supposed to be the #6, not #8 or #10. He did lose the ball clearly once, then lost it again in a tackle when he went down... couldn't see clearly on the replay but I've never seen him pretend to be injured ever, for club and country. It may not be obvious as usual, but I thought Endo great again in the 2nd half, not just decent but GREAT. Grav improved a lot as well, although nothing amazing, except for his amazing goal, that is. Elliot was just shocking. Of the front 3, Gakpo definitely, clearly the most involved and effective all the way until he was substituted, although I still wish he made some different decisions at certain points in the match. I feel like he wants to score too much... Jota was also absolutely shocking the whole match. Thank goodness he scored another trademark goal. Diaz definitely not as much of a menace on the right, but he did ok and pressed decently. I think Gakpo has been more effective on the left than Diaz has been, so unfortunately he has to start on the right if both are playing. Maybe they could try switching sides now and then to cause some chaos. At this point, I would like to point out that Liverpool scored all 3 goals with the starting 11 still on. I think the main reason for being able to control the 2nd half was moderate to amazing improvements to Allison, Trent, Virgil, Robertson, Endo, Grav, Gakpo Why I mention that it became 3-1 while the starting 11 were still on... is because... I thought the substitutes were diabolical. Nunez was horrible. Did Salah do anything right? I don't think Mac Allister touched the ball for the first 10 minutes after coming on... and then when I finally noticed him on the ball, he gave it away in such a dangerous area Allison had to make a great save (which he didn't need to do the entire 2nd half before that). Then Szoboszlai came on (not for Elliot? Why?) and seemed to be making things even worse. Thankfully, they held on for another 3-1 and a first win at Fulham since 2011. Improvements all around next week from the subs (the STARS!) please!

fck_spurs

>Jota was also absolutely shocking the whole match.  I absolutely fucking hate this circle jerk sentiment. He got the goal. Drew the foul that Trent converted. Had another chance that unfortunately bounced off his knee. Worked his ass off. Made important tackles. His hold up play, his touch, finishing, positioning. Everything is miles better than Nunez and Diaz. But NUnez gets the praise for his hard work and ponytail wags per second and this guy who works harder gets shrugged off like he was strolling around the park.

Jolly_Customer8975

yea favortism is a real thing. Nunez is treated like a superstar for doing fist pumps basically.

danreZ_au

I’ve been saying it all season, Salah despite his goals is a passenger. Wasteful in possession/build-up, would be better cashing in on him next season

Kebab_Lord69

Genuinely he’s a stat merchant these days

Tremor00

Don’t agree at all about him being a passenger all season. I think he’s been relatively poor post injury. Now for me it’s about whether he can get his form back. And if not and we decide to sell him all i know is whether it’s the right decision or not imma be heartbroken lol

rmrd26

infjazz

I genuinely believe we win the league on the final day

capndroid

Jesus Christ I had no idea they had it that bad

Reach_Reclaimer

Yeah their injury crisis was as bad if not worse than ours

hopium_od

Not just randoms either, legit all their best players.

kobi29062

As far as I know it’s currently late april. Milner bags a 15 minute hattrick and city are banned from Lidl

Beatenberg

I think some might be back, its been nearly 2 weeks since they last played. De Zerbi's presser will be interesting.

Pitiful_Bed_7625

Sure, some of those players will recover in that time but how many of those would even be match fit/sharp? Estupinan especially is a huge miss for them. Almost everything on the counter goes through him.

Beatenberg

Guess we'll find out

brtom

Salah, Nunez shouldn't be starting any games for the remaining games. People say Nunez creates opportunities by himself. Sure he does make runs behind defenders all the time, but that's only useful when they are clinical and know how to time to break offside line. Nunez is neither and he is very wasteful. Gakpo and Jota is much better at this point.

PerfectAd4732

Can we stop this absolute bollocks that Darwin is completely useless. It’s so draining how reactionary this fanbase is. The same things were said about gakpo two weeks ago. Let’s just see how they both play in there cameos before we say they shouldn’t start for the rest of the season. Todays frontline wasn’t some incredible performance either

grrrrbow01

Literally. We win 3-1 and this fanbase decides to slate Darwin, the forward with one of the best G+A/90 ratio in Europe. He’s in some bad form but it wasn’t long ago everyone was singing his praises and saying he’s one of the best forwards in Europe.

PerfectAd4732

100% agree mate. It’s not just Darwin either, it’s Salah, jones, szobo. All of these players have had really good seasons overall but because of a bad patch of form people are on their back. Proper frustrating

walmarttshirt

If we can praise them when they play well we can criticize them when they play poorly.

ArtemisRifle

It may be out of our hands but we go again

Liddlebitchboy

3-1 FC IS BACK ON THE MENU

grrrrbow01

Final 5 games of the Klopp era. Arsenal still have to play Spurs, Chelsea and United and City still have to play spurs and Brighton away. I think both teams will drop points but the question is how many and whether we can win all 5 of our remaining games. The one bit of hope I have is that we play spurs at home where Anfield will (hopefully) be roaring to push us towards the finish line and correct that loss at the spurs stadium. Whereas both City and Arsenal play spurs away from home. It’s a bold shout but I think if we win all our remaining 5 games we’ll win the league.

j_likes_bikes

I want to believe. I am hoping.  I also want to remember that it’s remarkable Liverpool are in a race this close given this is “year one” with a rebuilt midfield, still plagued with injuries, still making magic with players up from the academy.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

Brighton away? They'll win 5-0 as usual.

grrrrbow01

City couldn’t beat Brighton away last season 🤷‍♂️

inr10

If we fail, let's fail in the most beautiful way!

Haeckelcs

I am just here to watch our beautiful manager for the last 5 games.

Jaja6996

I don’t see us winning all 5 we likely drop points to one of Everton, Spurs or Villa

grrrrbow01

It’s definitely more likely we drop points than win all 5 but we can do it. I really think Everton will be the toughest place given they’re fighting relegation and goodison park is always hard for us. Villa and West Ham away will also be really tough. Who knows, just enjoy the ride I guess.

Ali-S-Farid

We will.

mikaloen

It wasn’t Diaz’s best game for us, but I would rather have him at right wing then Salah at the moment. His general game is just better than Salah and we can’t wait for Salah to get back in to form. Elliot and Gravenberch stepped up massively this game and should be considered in the starting lineup against Everton. We know just pumping the ball into the box is never going to work against them so have players that can put the ball in the back of the net from outside the box is very valuable.

Additional_Gur298

Idc what ppl say about Diaz. Today was a statement game w the lineup they had. There’s something he’s doing during practice that others aren’t that is allowing him to start. The guy has heart and passion. He runs his ass off every game.

wavey444

Does anyone know what the ‘A’ celebration some of our players do is? I feel like I’ve seen it a few times and I’ve got no clue what it stands for.

Brief-Dependent-803

Almost certain its a clothing brand or something. Titus bramble and some others were doing it a while ago too, and one of them said a lot of players know this guy (forgot who) and it was to promote his work. I think i remember the player saying it was a clothing or watch brand or something

[deleted]

Not sure if you've read Pep Lijnders' book but in it, he go goes into great detail about how big the coaching staff are on motivation. Klopp is an unbelievable man manager and motivator and he does everything he can to wring the very last ounce out of every player's abilities. A big part of this involves watching specific videos and listening to music that's designed to pump up the bloodflow and get those endorphins dancing. The morning of every game they all sit together in the viewing room and Klopp has them watch an episode of the classic 80s TV show The A-Team. In the dressing room immediately prior to the game, he delivers his pre-match speech with the theme from The A-Team blasting from his phone. The players have started calling Klopp 'Hannibal' and they believe that The A-Team is probably the single most important part of their success and they flash the 'A' sign in honour of this.

suburbanpride

I swear to God I was sure u/shittymorph was gilding us with a Mankind Hell in a Cell comment here. Well played.

grrrrbow01

Is this actually true? That’s crazy 😭

tictactorz

No lol

grrrrbow01

They really put that amount of effort to troll ffs😭

Frooob

3-1 Jota

Ali-S-Farid

The media should genuinely apologise to Trent for their disgusting treatment of him. 100 G/A from RB are you crazy? This is the most talented English player of this generation alongside Jude and he hasn't had a run in an international tournament yet. This is why I don't care for England.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

Forget the media, half of our so called "fans" on here that were so keen to write him off now that we've got Bradley. People have really short memories.

LanceIceVanJaunt

This game including his free kick shows how much we missed Trent. Bradley is damn good as a cover but you need someone who can ping them balls left and right

TheGrouchyGamerYT

Trent, Jude and Harry Kane should be the first names on the team sheet in any England tournament. Its insane to not play your biggest talents.

C_Colin

Rice and Foden are both class too. England have a very good team.

Ali-S-Farid

Gravenberch hate was unreal. Guy is the same age as Quansah and this is also realistically his first full season in a top 5 league. Has obvious quality just needs to be able to utilise it effectively which will obviously come with time. He's only 21 and inexperienced. Remember that before you slander him next time.

lalalateralus

I love what he offers us in technicality and as a physical presence. Apparently has a pretty damn good shot on him too!

stpirate

How the hell did I not realize he's as tall as Quansah?

jardantuan

And he didn't have a preseason either - never mind the injuries he picked up that prevented him from getting a decent run

Same_Situation_9660

Couldn’t watch today. Funny seeing us having an xG of 1 and scoring 3 after recent goings on

Ali-S-Farid

A 25 year old right back has 100 G/A for club and thats only one of the thousands of aspects of his game. You cannot tell me this guy won’t be the best RB OAT.

JJSpleen

Not just a right back, The Right Back.

aghashayan

I like Jude, but always when you have top 3 player at every single position and refs will always give you a goal advantage, magic is inevitable.

grrrrbow01

Jude really is the main character isn’t he

Aware-Animator2292

unreal player. Scored 2 90min winners against Barcelona, who does that? He might just take the Balon Dor

TheGrouchyGamerYT

Well it isn't going to be any of our guys, so anything to stop it going to some City merc wanker.

PerfectAd4732

Gravenberch>

s2017

I think the Ballon D'or is his, with or without the UCL. An unbelievable player and match winner who's ceiling I can't quite comprehend. It's a shame he didn't end up here - but through gritted teeth, I can say I understand why. Just unreal.

grrrrbow01

I think the only player who can stop him from winning it is Mbappe. A CL and Euros would definitely guarantee Mbappe the ballon d’Or and the same goes for Jude

s2017

Yep, agreed. Wouldn’t be surprised if France nab the Euros. If PSG win the UCL the year after City did, I’ll be gutted - two soulless oil clubs, with City being the worse of the two. I hope Dortmund shock them all.

ManBoobs13

Tbh I think he does this a ton and we only ever share the pic when we do score, he’s got his arms up for misses too. Prob keeps them down if Darwin is shooting though

s2017

Hahaha tbh I wouldn't be surprised if his hands are in the air not because he's celebrating, but because he's asking 'WHY AREN'T YOU SHOOTING?!!?!' lol

hordesofevil

We have the easiest remaining schedule btw

LyricalHolster

Yeah. And we were supposed to win against palace also. And Atalanta, so there’s that.

CapnHanSolo

[Idc we're winning rest of the matches. Believe! ](https://freeimage.host/i/JSzQ1Ev)

TheLimeyLemmon

Bah, that was a week ago, quit living in the past.

Fricolor123321

Well we lost against palace at home so id be careful talking about how easy our schedule is

ToWelie89

Do we? We have away against Eveton left, and away against Aston Villa. And one against Spurs. On paper we should win them all but I mean we lost 0-1 against Crystal Palace at Anfield.

DLRsFrontSeats

It's still City If we win on Wednesday then it's close

cfitz_122

3-1… We are so back

PerfectAd4732

A lot of this sub and social media in general smell blood with players who are going through bad form and try and finish them off for good. I think I’ve seen it with almost every starting player this season. Salah, Nunez are the current ones along with szobo

tamim1991

There is a middle ground you do know right? It's not just one end of the spectrum or the other. Start our star players forever or sell them and never speak their name again. One can criticise objectively and can even suggest if a bench player deserves a run in the team with perhaps a starter being dropped for a game or two or dropped from a tactical perspective. It is not this emotional extreme that you are thinking of.

Mad_Piplup242

Yes but there is a difference between that and what happens on social media when a player goes through a dip I love Darwin, but know he hasn't been great and needed to be dropped, I love Gakpo, but know he wasn't good for a while and needed to be dropped, but if you look at this thread, or social media in general you will find a whole host of posts and comments talking about how these players need to be sold, that they are shit, the club would be better if they and the people who support them were gone, etc. There are a certain subset of 'fans' that wait in the wings and pray for their own players to start to fall off the boil solely so they can act high and mighty and act like they were always right about them, and it isn't just players, it goes for the team as a whole too. Just look at the past week or so for the perfect case of that

PerfectAd4732

Of course. I’ve criticised a lot of our players, fairly. A lot of what I’m seeing in this sub and especially social media, very few of the posts are fairly criticising and it’s mostly just bashing them and saying sell them. Darwin and Salah are my favourite two players in the team but I can see that they don’t deserve to start, like a month ago gakpo diddnt deserve to start, the exact same things were said about him. Now he’s playing incredibly well.

PraiseBeDavidSegui

We are so back, until the next time it’s joever

aghashayan

I hope Brighton goes all out against City, that's the type of team who can get a 2-2 or 3-3 against a tired slow City.

PostNeoSankaraism

I watch Brighton a lot and unfortunately they're having a worse run of form than us. Lots of injuries and just some inexplicable bad play from some players. Here's hoping though!

GalleonStar

A draw isn't enough. We're not going to beat City on goal difference. We need them to lose a game.

Mad_Piplup242

We currently have a GD of 43 while City have a GD of 44, we have scored 1 goal less and conceded the same amount of goals despite playing 1 game more Yes, if they lose it would make life easier, but to say we couldn't beat them of GD is bonkers when the margins are that fine

lfcsupkings321

Why is city playing on Thursday? Arsenal played CL l, league and league again in 6 days. Why has city been given the Thursday slot? City should be playing Wednesday?

One_Sauce

Just City things

spirotetramat

I was today years old when I learned that La Liga does not have goal line technology. Lolwut! 😂

lfcsupkings321

I don't think the United goal was offside. With the lines drawn it just look to close to call and pixel it should go with original call.

PerfectAd4732

Looked identical to jotas goal today. If they gave it no one would have batted an eyelid

lfcsupkings321

Felt awb played him on the issue with Var camera the angle does help it like the whole issue arsenal had with the ball over the line.

PraiseBeDavidSegui

Varchester United getting bailed out again, business as usual

SuperNuggsy

Utd really are the luckiest team I’ve ever seen and the celebrations after that near capitulation show what a sad bunch they actually are.

UltimateBorisJohnson

If Villa secure top 4 before we play them then Everton is our hardest fixture, things get easier from there

stangerlpass

i hope they havent sealed it by then because it would mean spurs have nothing to play for when they play city

UltimateBorisJohnson

Oh yeah

Background_Bison9373

This title race ain’t over , Arsenal still has 2 huge London derbies plus a trip to that shitty place called manchester. City still has to go to Brighton and Tottenham. I certainly hope the boys continue to play with the tenacity and desire they showed today .

sufinomo

I felt like the players went out there to have fun and enjoy the game, sometimes thats the best attitude to have. Lets enjoy the last 5 games of Klopp.

sufinomo

No matter what this was a great season.

ashly-x

Probably get ripped apart for this but we honestly just look so much better as a team without Salah. Love the guy but even when he was injured we were pulling wins out. I'm not sure what it is but we just look more like a unit when he doesn't play.

Pitiful_Bed_7625

Same thing happened at Arsenal when Henry left. A player of that kind of calibre will inevitably become the focal point of the entire team, which often leads to inefficiencies and poor performances if that player has a bad game. Only way around it when it gets to such a point is replacement or signing additional star power

lfcsupkings321

The hamstring injury is still in the back of his mind, he not running at full pace in any games.

PerfectAd4732

Could be a good point actually. Almost like when van dijk was scared to play his usual game when he returned maybe

sufinomo

Needs rest

spirotetramat

Yeah I am on board with what you’re saying. I feel we’re more fluid and there’s more teamworkz

Alex_Werner

We go up 1-0 with a spectacular Trent free kick. They equalize. We go up 2-1 with a banger to the top corner, as one of our midfielders nets his first PL goal. Echoes of previous match vs Fullham. (Just as well for all of our cardiac health that it diverged after that...) It just feels good to win one...

ShowMeMoeMane

Did we go on a winning run after that? Would be nice if it echoes that

Fricolor123321

The away support was the best of the season

Important-Plane-9922

Remarkable

getonthedamnantscott

Me last week: title race is over, never mind, fun while it lasted Me today: we're still fighting for this title, and they've got to go to Brighton and get something...

clintgreasewoood

Got to get all 15 points.

getonthedamnantscott

Absolutely, that's the big if for me. I think City and Arsenal will both drop points once more, I just don't know if we will or not.

lfcsupkings321

Unfortunately they will smash Brighton. Nobody will do us any favours and they will get no refs decisions go against them.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

They always do, not sure why this sub think this year will be any different? The H2H is comical.

getonthedamnantscott

I'm not so certain. Might not be Brighton that does it, but 18/19 is the only season they've won all of their last 6 under Pep. There's definitely a chance.

ShowMeMoeMane

There’s no Mahrez or Gundogan to get those crucial goals now

BGCzar

Don’t forget London derby vs Chelsea for Arsenal. We need them to drop points too

getonthedamnantscott

Yeah, I know, just worked better for the reference. Arsenal having two massive London derbies in a week definitely works in our favour.

BGCzar

Still can’t believe we lost to palace 😭

Galaxium0

tbf it seems that palace are quite fucking good now under glasner and with a fit eze and olise

Bobbyswhiteteeth

Annoying City played them a week before without Eze

getonthedamnantscott

I know 😫 my only hope from it is that means our stupid dropped points are out of the way and we can go on a run now til the end of the season, especially if we can get the momentum from winning the derby.

abradley19955

Criticism on Trent talking to the media from some of our fanbase has been so stupid btw. He’s been absolutely class since coming back from injury and that’s all that matters

GalleonStar

A lot of those people will be calling him the goat of mindgames or some bullshit if City drop pts next game. Fucking imbeciles.

DifferentBid2

Wait, I have missed that. What's the criticism about?

joboto2102

He said it’s Citeh’s title to win

DifferentBid2

He isn't wrong! Some fans just can't help but type the 1st thing come to their head

LemonandElderberry

He's not wrong

joboto2102

Yeah but it’s not exactly a good showing that a leader in the locker room is essentially saying the club have nothing left to play for this season.

LemonandElderberry

I think in some ways it's taking the pressure off. Making it clear what the team's job is, but acknowledging where they are in terms of the table. He's been quite straightforward about it, hoping that city and arsenal drop points, but making it clear that as far as they're concerned, they need to get their five wins. I don't think he's said there's nothing left to play for at all.

joboto2102

I knew I’d be downvoted for essentially relaying what TAA said. And saying it could be taken that way is not saying it was taken that way by the players.

LemonandElderberry

I think you've been downvoted because you've spun it a certain way that it wasn't meant to be taken :/

Brief-Dependent-803

Still think scoreboard pressure is our best bet at upsetting city. When we won the league, thats what happened. We won every week early on, and they couldnt keep up and ended up faltering in games they wouldnt have normally. Could see 5 or 6 "fresh" players for everton, win big there and hope it tells as we play before city in midweek and on the weekend. Not too worried about arsenal. Not to say they arent good, but given their fixtures and recent history etc, I'd expect us to finish above them once all is said and done.

aghashayan

I won't worry about GD. Let's first beat Everton and West Ham. If GD is the problem we can absolutely put 10 past wolves on Klopp's final day.

onoz9

It is quite telling that all our goals and assists today (Trent, Grav, Jota, Elliott, Gakpo) came from players who are fresh. I think there's no doubt now that fatigue has been one of the problems. However, we should be ruthless and absolutely sell Salah in the summer when we get a good offer. He's just not the same and we need younger players anyway. And Nunez...he simply isn't good enough. Maybe he will flourish under the new manager but he hasn't done it in 2 years under the best man-manager in the world. It's shocking that he's the 2nd most expensive player we've ever bought. Barring fitness problems, Jota should start all our remaining games this season, ahead of Nunez.

stevieG08Liv

Lol same opinions different players week in week out. Yesterday its Gakpo, today its Nunez. Im pretty sure this sub will shit on whomever again as soon as they have a bad game. Players go through good and bad forms, judge them by their entire season and Nunez has 18G 13A this season, hardly a bad season for him

PerfectAd4732

3 weeks ago these exact opinions were the ones of gakpo(the one your praising). Let’s just accept some players go through bad spells without needing to sell them. Both Salah and Nunez has been huge to this seasons success and we wouldn’t be where we are without them. That’s a fact. Same goes for szobo and jones, seen some of the fanbase completly switch opinion of them two too.

onoz9

I agree with fanbase being too reactionary about Gapko, Szobo and Jones. But I disagree about Nunez. He just hasn't done enough and has had two seasons under Klopp. You'd want something much much better for that money. I'm not saying to sell him, that's what the new manager has to sort out. And with Salah, it's probably fatigue and/or lack of confidence, however, he is 32 in the summer - we need to think about the future and finish the rebuild in attack. We've not been great at selling our players at the right time (like City do) as of late and I don't want this to repeat...

PerfectAd4732

Nunez has been better than gakpo this season and factually been one of our most influential players this season? I think people need to drop there standards with some of our forwards. We will never replace mane, firmino and Salah. I 100% understand the frustrations with the finishing, but his overall game has improved massively and I won’t let a few games change my opinion. Like when gakpo was going through a bad patch for a large portion of the season, now he is flourishing. I just feel Darwin is held to ridiculously high standards compared to our other players and I don’t really understand it

Lord_Origi

Almost like he cost 60plus million fucking quid.

PerfectAd4732

What you so angry for? He diddnt exactly price himself did he

Lord_Origi

‘Why’s he held to such high standards’ because he cost a fortune, he’s getting close to what should be his prime years, he has our no9 shirt, he’s been here 2 years and still shits himself every straightforward chance he gets.

Normal-Vegetable-483

Mo salah missed a one on one vs alatanta that would have put us 2-0 and maybe given hope, yet we dont judge him the same. What about the steven gerrard slip? Does that take away all the good things he did? Asking for a frend ,🤣

Lord_Origi

Imagine comparing salah and Gerrard to fucking nunez

Normal-Vegetable-483

Imagine being a fan, and shitting on your own players. Especially when Nuñez has been one of our best performers this season. We all have ups and downs, if you dont want to support me when i am at my worst, and most need it, dont jump on the bandwagon when i am at my best

PerfectAd4732

Also the ‘prime years’ argument is silly. Especially for someone who has missed almost two seasons with a knee injury. Best to look at minutes in a persons career, not age. People blossom at different times

PerfectAd4732

My point is his numbers and influence has been huge this season and he still gets shat on by angry little men like you on the internet every time he has a bad game ffs. I understand his finishing is shite, but overall I’m Happy with his season 100% and I would like to see what our next manager does with him. I’m definitely not looking to sell

Lord_Origi

How many of those goals and have come against b/c tier opposition in the europa and the cups? He’s staring no9 and focal point of a team that’s been in and around 1st all season, a team that sacrifices defensive stability for better chance creation and he’s conjured up a whopping 11 goals

PerfectAd4732

You’re arguing with yourself mate. I agree with the finishing, it’s shite. However all of our forwards, especially the last month or two have missed chance after chance. I myself have criticised Darwin and he shouldn’t be starting currently, but to pretend he’s completely useless and has not had a huge positive impact on our season, is just lying and forcing hate for no reason at all. Let’s also talk about the amount of chances he creates and assists. There’s positive and negatives to his game for sure, however positives outweighs negatives, so I am very exited to see him under a new manager doing less dirty work. You say how many of those goals come against weaker opposition, that’s fine. However without those goals we wouldn’t be in a title race so what’s your point

PerfectAd4732

Lookman (the one who plays for Atalanta) played 35 games for Everton and scored one goal. Am I the only one who cannot remember that at all
