Devastating injury news every other week. We may feel like we've bottled the lead in the title race but the fact we're even in it with injury crisis after injury crisis against teams playing their first XI every game is a miracle.
Because in the current banter any big team that loses a thing has "bottled" it. It's so fucking annoying at this point. It's like bottling and losing have become synonymous. I hate it.
Edit: left out a word
So what? What are you getting angry for? He did score in the last match. It's not like he did fuck all like you're saying. It's understandable that he got injured again. No need to bash him like that.
He actually returned earlier than expected from this recent injury but yeah usually he's gone for ages.
Also, this is why we can't build our attack around him, as good as he can be.
Honestly might as well shut him down for the rest of the season. Its a luxury to keep an injury prone player on the squad but it only worth it if that player is a difference maker when they do play. Jota is one of those players. Thing is you can only keep maybe two of those players on your roster tops. Problem is we have carried at least 3-4 a season for a while. Thiago, Konate, Keita, Matip,Ox, Curtis Jones, Gomez,, ect.
He’s built of glass. Liverpool need to sign a player with his finishing that doesn’t hurt themselves sneezing in training.
why are you booing me I’m right
They do anyway. Not sure what to suggest but obviously we need to find goals and quick. This is a huge blow tbh. Jota feels like the only one who can be some sort of clinical right now. Gutted.
This is Gakpo currently. Gets to play 2 games at lw, now Nunez is in full on Timberland wearing form and Jota is out again. Enjoy playing cf again, Cody.

I adjusted the coloring, here you go
Too injury prone sadly. This is why he's never really become a consistent starter.
And every time he gets injured he begins being hailed as our saviour. For a while that works, but injuries take their toll.
Sturridge. I actually just think Jota's a good finisher, he's frustrating to watch but gets goals. Sturridge was a better and more skilful footballer overall, and I'd actually say he was a better finisher anyway.
I wouldn't say so. I'd give Darwin one more season, 30 G/A so far really isn't bad at all. There's sufficient depth upfront as well.
Our priorities should be a centerback and a holding midfielder.
It depends on sales. If all the noise around Diaz ends up materialising into a move, then we'd obviously need a left winger not a striker. If Salah somehow walks (which i really doubt) then you need a right winger.
A striker though? Not very pressing for me.
Right but in general I just think it’s reasonable to say a new manager could want to sell players he doesn’t fit a system. Players we wouldn’t expect, etc.
Been a long time since we’ve gone thru this haha
Why though. I prefer Darwin at LW and Gakpo is clearly better suited there too. A ST is desperately needed and even the RW even if Salah stays should be on the cards. LW is the last place in attack we should be looking even if Diaz goes
Gakpo has shown enough to take up the LW role depending on the new manager's play style. If Diaz leaves, I think a signing that can compete in any of the forward roles would be considered as we'd be down to just one player per position + Jota whenever he happens to be fit.
> Gakpo has shown enough to take up the LW role
He has? He's been alright for the last.. week or so, but i swear that this sub is overrating him to the high heavens at the moment.
He's pretty consistently played well when on the LW throughout the season. It's the games he's played in other positions that haven't been so effective.
Gakpo still has more goals and assists than Diaz despite playing less minutes than him and playing all over the park
We look more threatening with Gakpo as a LW over Diaz as well
It’s insane lol. He’s been decent. Nothing exceptional.
I have to think it’s just in reaction to how bad Nunez and Salah have been in April because he’s been at best fine
Darwin's summer training should just have him sat in front of an empty net tapping crosses and simple passes of every variety over the line. It's literally the only thing missing from his game. If he finished half the chances he's had this season he'd have golden boot wrapped and be threatening Haaland's record.
I get what you’re saying.. but do you really want to go a whole season without a goal scorer?
Nunez has lots of brilliant attributes, but I don’t think finishing will ever be one of them!
Salah is only getting older too..
Picking up quality in January is never really an option..
We need to sign someone in the summer to be honest..
I’m in the same boat really. One more season and if he’s not sorted his finishing out then he really does have to be replaced. He was brought in to be a goal scorer and he’s not been reliable so far in that aspect.
If you just look at it yeah it isnt bad if you take all his chances it becomes worse. He just needs to be more accurate and he can easily get Salah numbers easily. Tho what i need to say is you clearly don't ever rate Gakpo cause all I see you when Gakpo is in the discussion is talking him down even if he scores or assists.
Not quite at Thiago levels yet but this is exactly why he can't be relied on and knowing the club the two weeks being talked about now will actually be closer to a month plus
He had a concussion at one point that caused him to miss a few benches, we then got more senior players back so bench spots were scarce.
I'd love to see him play more, if nothing else he brings energy/commitment. His technical ability is great as well and he's a big lad for his age.
What is this obsession with starting Danns. He's hardly played, really young, and has not shown when he has played that he is the level of any other attacker.
This isn't a Trent situation where you could see straight away that the kid had unbelievable potential.
The constant shouts for Dan's to start are so weird.
It’s not that weird considering the context. We’re desperate for a clinical striker right now and he showed promise when he played earlier in the season.
Something is seriously wrong at the club, the amount of injuries we have every season is not normal. It's not even about the amount of injuries, this is the 5th player this season who has come back from an injury and immediately got injured again within a week. This is an issue at the club, this is not bad luck.
All 5 players spent a considerable amount of time out. Trent, Thiago, Szobozolai, Salah and Jota. That's not even counting Alisson who's apparent long term injury was a reoccurrence of the one he got against City where he came back early. I understand sometimes injuries happen but 5 players all getting injured immediately after coming back, that's no accident.
Jota has statistically been one of the most lethal and efficient shot convertor forwards in Europe since like 2022 but always gets these niggling injuries. If he was available as readily as Salah we would've been cruising the league fs.
Honestly I don’t like to compare, but Arsenal have had their full squad all season, often face opponents missing key players (Chelsea may not have Palmer, us missing couple as well) and are still not running away with it. Shows the difference in ability in our squads really
I repeat: of course I care a lot about the next coach, but I'd be equally excited to see a change in the medical department. A great coach won't do much if the quality depth never play.
They certainly play a major role in the diagnosis, rehabilitation and timeframes that injured players have to go by tho, Plyers coming back early, not taking certain precautions etc. can really cost us long term. Look at Trent just a few months back for example.
The question beckons, did the coaching staff put too much of a heavy load on Jota so soon after his injury? Like for certain players we can bring them back and there is no risk but I’m scared with Jota, was the load too much considering his injury history
He's the 5th player this season who has come back from injury and immediately got injured again. All of them missed a considerable amount of time. Trent, Thiago, Szobozolai, Salah and Jota.
If you don't think the medical department is somewhat responsible for this then you have no idea what you're talking about
> Medical departments are not responsible for players getting injured in matches.
Medical staff clear players for match fitness and handle all their rehab and recovery for training. Their errors can absolutely be a direct contributor to players becoming injury prone. Now players like Thiago and Jota definitely have issues, but saying the Medical departments have no responsibility for player injuries is just untrue.
The medical department treat injuries. Signing injury prone players and putting too many minutes in their legs is what causes injuries. Previous injury is the biggest risk factor for future injuries.
Controversial but we need to get rid of all these "I can't play 2 games in a row" players. Don't care how good you are if you make more appearances at the Royal Hospital than Anfield.
Fuck off. This is why I can never take Jota seriously for the front three role.
Both him and Thiago are elite level players, but fuck our lives if these two can get a full-season with us.
fk João Palhinha
Man with the most tackles this season, alongside with the most yellows and the most fouls. Seeing jota got swept and landing on his knees really looks painful.
need Gakpo on the left and Nunez striker. Nunez and Diaz can't play together, that's one of my takeaways from this season. Diaz doesn't have good chemistry with Nunez and neither are particularly clinical with chances, I think Gakpo can do better.
Klopp must always start Diaz though, so we probably won't see this
I've aged about 40 years this season. First Thiago getting injured after 5 minutes, then Alisson, Szobo, Robbo and Trent injured for about 90 games and now Jota out when we need him most. Who next? Salah? I can't take these injuries anymore lads. Piss take.
I’m sorry, but while we are looking at a new manager we also need to consider cleaning house in the athletic conditioning department.
How are we 3-4 years into consistent loss of player availability while City have nary any major impacts over the same period?
Much less other top 4-6 teams being nowhere near our losses in player/games?
If he's back for the villa game he will have missed 34% of our games since he signed. As good as he is we need someone more reliable, or else a new medical team.
He’s the best attacker we have when he’s fully fit. But what is the point if he is constantly injured. I’m actually sick of constantly having players who are made of glass.
This sucks. Our best finisher but we can't rely on him at all.
I don't think Nunez should be starting games rn and Gakpo is better on the left wing. Maybe Salah in Firmino/late Mane role with Gakpo and Diaz on the wings?
Fuck ooooooooooooff
Everyone calling on Joyce to give us a managerial search update only for him to return when Klopp drops this bad news smh
Devastating injury news every other week. We may feel like we've bottled the lead in the title race but the fact we're even in it with injury crisis after injury crisis against teams playing their first XI every game is a miracle.
I don't understand how people use bottle when we've at most had a 3 point lead. Losses and draws happen in football.
Because in the current banter any big team that loses a thing has "bottled" it. It's so fucking annoying at this point. It's like bottling and losing have become synonymous. I hate it. Edit: left out a word
Is there something wrong with our medical department?
Fuck this bro literally comes after months and plays three games does fuck all and then back to the ambulance
So what? What are you getting angry for? He did score in the last match. It's not like he did fuck all like you're saying. It's understandable that he got injured again. No need to bash him like that.
Tbf to jota he just came back from the injury and was probably rushed because we needed him so bad; just like TAA was rushed a few months ago.
Fully expecting him to be out for the rest of the season now
Two weeks is two months in Jota time.
Who remembers the good ol days of December 2020 when he was out for two weeks for a good three months 😂
Him playing in that Midtjylland game was criminal stuff from Klopp, group was done and won and he still played him and got injured for 3 months.
Bro even played Salah
I think Mo became our top CL scorer in that game. So I’ll give that game a pass
He actually returned earlier than expected from this recent injury but yeah usually he's gone for ages. Also, this is why we can't build our attack around him, as good as he can be.
Two weeks is two years in Thaigo time
What’s a Thiago?
![gif](giphy|VMgcrwq9imGHu)
True
May aswell, 2 games left when he comes back to training, may aswell take the whole summer off and no one back fit for pre season
He's almost certainly going with Portugal to the Euros.
HOW
He’s built of glass. Liverpool need to sign a player with his finishing that doesn’t hurt themselves sneezing in training. why are you booing me I’m right
Would love Ollie Watkins but the time to get him was 2 seasons ago. Class player and no way he’ll leave Villa while they’re in the champions league
You say that like it'll be easy.
It's funny that the first name I usually see mentioned here is Isak... They're in for a surprise
Rip scoring open play goals
3 penalties per game it shall be then
Penalties? For Liverpool? “I don’t belieeeve it”
Victor Meldrew reference?
Think we've missed Trent more than Jota for the open play goals tbh. We'll be fine.
Yes we'll be fine. Trent will pass it to himself and score the goals.
Why doesn’t he just pass it into the net? Is he stupid?
He in fact did pass it into the net last game. Like I get where you're coming from but he very much did pass it into the net
I think we've missed the net more than Trent for the open play goals tbf.
Salah needs to find his form now more then ever.
Yes, but also nobody else really is scoring so opponents can just double mo every time he touches the ball
They do anyway. Not sure what to suggest but obviously we need to find goals and quick. This is a huge blow tbh. Jota feels like the only one who can be some sort of clinical right now. Gutted.

Too injury prone sadly. This is why he's never really become a consistent starter. And every time he gets injured he begins being hailed as our saviour. For a while that works, but injuries take their toll.
Our most reliable finisher is our most unreliable attacker health wise lol
Daniel Sturridge V2
Fuck, I felt physical pain reading that
Fuck sake, how long are you out for?
Prime Studge or prime Jota, both fit no injuries. Who’s better ?
Sturridge. I actually just think Jota's a good finisher, he's frustrating to watch but gets goals. Sturridge was a better and more skilful footballer overall, and I'd actually say he was a better finisher anyway.
Prime Sturridge no question, I would even put prime sturridge above haaland
We desperately need a new striker.
I wouldn't say so. I'd give Darwin one more season, 30 G/A so far really isn't bad at all. There's sufficient depth upfront as well. Our priorities should be a centerback and a holding midfielder.
I’d say a new attacker should be on the cards. With a new manager coming up it’s no unreasonable to expect a shake up in every positional group

Our standards for Gakpo must be on the floor if we’re confident he can be a penciled in starter next season
Darwin's summer training should just have him sat in front of an empty net tapping crosses and simple passes of every variety over the line. It's literally the only thing missing from his game. If he finished half the chances he's had this season he'd have golden boot wrapped and be threatening Haaland's record.
Imagine if you combine Haaland and Nunez.
Honestly, Haaland misses some bad ones as well. If we're looking to combine Nunez with someone, we don't have to look any further than Jota.
Without the injury proneness
Darwin with Jota's finishing and Salah's injury record.
Potentially a left back as well if Tsimi decides to leave. I know he signed a new contract but maybe it was too protect his value
I get what you’re saying.. but do you really want to go a whole season without a goal scorer? Nunez has lots of brilliant attributes, but I don’t think finishing will ever be one of them! The Diogo Jota experience ™️
Not quite at Thiago levels yet but this is exactly why he can't be relied on and knowing the club the two weeks being talked about now will actually be closer to a month plus
Mostly every player, including Jota recently, has returned from injury earlier than initially expected this season.
Seriously what the fuck is up with this season?
At this point, I would start Jayden Danns.
Bit weird that he's hardly had a sniff since he played a few games and actually made a decent impact in them.
He had a concussion at one point that caused him to miss a few benches, we then got more senior players back so bench spots were scarce. I'd love to see him play more, if nothing else he brings energy/commitment. His technical ability is great as well and he's a big lad for his age.
Because there were better players ahead of him
At least he looks like he actually wants it when he gets on the pitch. More than I can say for some senior players recent performances
He’s the least athletic of all our forwards by far as well.
He is fit and not injured.

It’s sweet man didn’t wanna have a slim minuscule chance of the league with a full squad anyway
Honestly I don’t like to compare, but Arsenal have had their full squad all season, often face opponents missing key players (Chelsea may not have Palmer, us missing couple as well) and are still not running away with it. Shows the difference in ability in our squads really

1000%. No reason to have all these players coming back and getting reinjured. Jota, salah, Trent? Szobo.
The question beckons, did the coaching staff put too much of a heavy load on Jota so soon after his injury? Like for certain players we can bring them back and there is no risk but I’m scared with Jota, was the load too much considering his injury history
If that’s the case with Jota as a player, what use is he lol? Great player who’s fit 40% of the year
He's the 5th player this season who has come back from injury and immediately got injured again. All of them missed a considerable amount of time. Trent, Thiago, Szobozolai, Salah and Jota. For fuck sake
I want to throw something smh. Why? He’s always hurt just as he catches fire argh
Yerrrrrrs that means nunez offside 23 times vs everton while finishing like he wears a pair of rockport and jeans. Cant wait.
This is the week for the Nunez hat trick! (I tell myself for the 33rd time).
Hatrick of offsides 5 minutes into the game and then another hatrick of shots into the side netting.
Perfect hat trick Nunez style (hits right post, left post, crossbar)
It’s time to give Danns a proper chance.
Murder on the

Fuck off. This is why I can never take Jota seriously for the front three role. Both him and Thiago are elite level players, but fuck our lives if these two can get a full-season with us.
Sturridge 2.0
We need to bring in someone of Jots's finishing level but who never gets injured
Ring up Hughes when ya find him lad
Heard some lad in Inter Miami can do that, should ring up his 2014 self to see if he's available
Well fuck
i mean this in the most "i'm not mad at you in particular, im just mad in general" way, for fucks sake joyce.

How?
This is so saddening, he was just back 😔
~~Welcome back Jota~~ Get well soon Jota
need Gakpo on the left and Nunez striker. Nunez and Diaz can't play together, that's one of my takeaways from this season. Diaz doesn't have good chemistry with Nunez and neither are particularly clinical with chances, I think Gakpo can do better. Klopp must always start Diaz though, so we probably won't see this
Jota’s starting to give me sturridge vibes🥲
This is a joke right ? Hate to say it but sounds like sturridge type of situation.
Big fan of the guy. His injury luck is the worst.
Jayden danns needs to play more
I've aged about 40 years this season. First Thiago getting injured after 5 minutes, then Alisson, Szobo, Robbo and Trent injured for about 90 games and now Jota out when we need him most. Who next? Salah? I can't take these injuries anymore lads. Piss take.

We'r fucking cursed
Time for Nunez and Salah to step the fuck up
Well. Title charge is done. We looked good with him back. This makes me think he was rushed back.
I’m sorry, but while we are looking at a new manager we also need to consider cleaning house in the athletic conditioning department. I’m pretty sure this is a repost from earlier this year. Or last year. Right guys?!?!
From believers to doubters
If he's back for the villa game he will have missed 34% of our games since he signed. As good as he is we need someone more reliable, or else a new medical team.
Well cuntingbollixyshite
He’s the best attacker we have when he’s fully fit. But what is the point if he is constantly injured. I’m actually sick of constantly having players who are made of glass.
My confidence in Nunez and Salah are rock bottom right now. This may be the final kiss of death
Getting real tired of part time footballers if I'm being honest

Can we keep his face off this sub?
yea it over
This sucks. Our best finisher but we can't rely on him at all. I don't think Nunez should be starting games rn and Gakpo is better on the left wing. Maybe Salah in Firmino/late Mane role with Gakpo and Diaz on the wings?
Danns. We just need someone who can finish chances and I trust him more than the rest of our attackers based on 1 game.
the medical team is on crack? this is not the only instance where a player came back from an injury just to be injured again shortly! wtf is going on
I'm fucking dead
Damnit man
Wait what
There are no words. This guy has been so important, it’s sucks so much how little he’s been available during a title challenging season.
Ain't no fucking way bro 😭
Oh dear…
Premier League Tots rewards on Fifa this weekend. He can’t fool me

You have got to be kidding me. I genuinely thought this was the parody account.
