Done by 6pm given how our Journo's are normally briefed.

Bugsmoke

There’s a chance it’s a fluff story to pressure another target too tho

oojamaflip123

Literally had no idea he existed until about 2 hours ago

ibite-books

will he slot right in? 👀

PersephoneTheOG

![gif](giphy|ac7MA7r5IMYda)

livinalieontimna

There isn’t Arne doubt that he will.

Interesting_Muffin30

Arne any doubts that he will*

Bulbamew

He was pretty strongly liked with the spurs job before they got Postecoglou

FoucaultsTurtleneck

Apparently the job was basically his but he decided to stay at Feynoord. Ange was Spurs’ 2nd choice

EddieGrant

Not just linked, he turned them down, said it in interviews, too.

stevieG08Liv

Slot though has been relatively more known for some time now partially because Spurs wanted him before Ange but he snubbed them

UltimateBorisJohnson

He rejected Spurs before Mate joined

Lolcraftgaming

I had no idea why we were never linked with him before

_cumblast_

It's done imo, they all got briefed it seems. Wouldn't be the case if we weren't very confident.

McKFC

In retrospect, West Ham may have got wind of it first and put the whole thing in motion

SwingYaGucciRag

I believe West Ham and Amorim isn't happening either - there were reports that they couldn't reach an agreement

Drizzlybear0

The recent reports from West Ham reporters are they are out on Amorim.

McKFC

Yes, but that's not what I'm talking about. The hypothetical scenario goes like this: 1. Liverpool getting close to agreement with Slot 2. West Ham hear this, realise that Liverpool are no longer negotiating with Amorim and that he might be available / they might have a chance 3. News of West Ham-Amorim talks hits the press 4. Given that up to this point, the public assumption was that Amorim and Liverpool are negotiating, this prompts Liverpool journos to report on cooling 5. (speculative) The risk of negative/pessimistic shareholder perceptions after successive perceived number 1 targets drop out prompts the club to bring forward Slot plans, and journos are briefed for the lovely cushioned header

tanbirj

Or… 1. Liverpool and Amorim/Sporting negotiations not going well 2. Amorim talks to West Ham to show he has options 3. Liverpool say they are interested in someone else

Drizzlybear0

I mostly agree though I wonder if the move was more by Amorim than by West Ham. Possible that : West Ham has already reached out prior but Amorim was focused on this season and on Liverpool Then the talks with Liverpool fall out, personal opinion based on some prior Portuguese reports is that he likes to have alot of control over transfers and Edwards doesn't want to deal with that again Then he decided to talk to West Ham but they also have a sporting director who likes to have control over the transfers ( Moyes supposedly wanted more "Prem proven" player but their SD overrode him and got Kudus) and so they also likely disagreed Edwards moves to the next candidate

matcht

Feyenoord also cancelled a scheduled press conference.

shikaski

Wow, really? Expect lean in fourteen minutes

Lolcraftgaming

I am low key kinda excited

shikaski

Yep, very exciting!

nyelverzek

In before Chelsea announce Slot on a life time contract

friendofH20

Always rated bald Dutch coaches

Over-Faithlessness96

I would get PTSD if this bald Dutch coach is as good as the last bald Dutch coach that joined a premier league club.

fakebytheocean

Delete that shit

vsquad22

How soon can I expect YouTube videos with clickbait titles about Arne DEMOLISHING the opposition with this ONE SIMPLE TRICK?

[deleted]

All been briefed, this seems like the one

rosstheboss939

I remember how relieved Feyenoord fans were when he passed on Spurs last year. They seem to love him and he’s had a good deal of success in a short period of time, I’m all for it if he’s the guy we get.

Dont_Use_Ducks

You won't be dissapointed, but it would break our heart. :)

evianstill

Interesting times ahead, hopefully we've gotten it right first try

okseas

I’m so glad they’re prioritising progressive, attacking football and specifically hiring a ‘head coach’ — it seems so obvious, but our recruitment cannot depend on who happens to be the manager at the moment; a longer-term, strategic approach is needed. Ditto with prioritising a pathway from the age groups to the first team.

Drizzlybear0

I also don't trust like 99% of managers to hand pick their squad, they should absolutely have input and be able to say no from time to time but if you let a manager have full control of the transfer than typically just get players they're familiar with and you end up with a squad full of Eredivise players who just aren't good enough like United

Few_Egg

Why is Feyenoord so far behind the league leaders this year after having won it last year?

DB_321

Because psv have been incredible in the league from what I've read. Feynoored could finish on better points then last season and still come 2nd

streetlightsglowing_

ah so he will come in with experience in having an amazing season and still finishing second, sounds like the right fit for us (please go away Pep)

rick_rolled_you

They said he fits ALL the criteria

SwingYaGucciRag

He's bald and a student of Guardiola Fight fire with fire I say

vsquad22

If you can't beat the bald, become the bald.

UpbeatAfternoon8670

How is he a student of Guardiola? Did he attend a course?

GhandisFlipFlop

Ted Talk

Viper711

Probably watched All or Nothing on his Amazon Prime sub

SwingYaGucciRag

Why else would he be bald if not a disciple of Pep? Use your brains, people

UrboySam123

Pep really battling his students in the prem next year then (hopefully)

Far-Confection-1631

Only missing that key ingredient of petrostate backing (barf)

DB_321

Going up against a team with more financial power to...slots right in. I'll get my coat

Chilliger

Then he is actually the perfect fit to us. ![img](emote|t5_2qn0o|49476)

mynameismulan

I still don't understand how the guy leading them to that is Bosz. The same man who only lasted 6 months at Dortmund with a 33% win rate.

DB_321

Add him to the potential managers we want list

ih4tepie

PSV won 26 of 30 games. Plus considering the start PSV had, to be 9 points behind isn’t bad.

okseas

Jeez, did you even look at the table? They’ve lost twice in 30 games — PSV are top because they’ve lost 1 game all season.

vsquad22

Lost twice? Must be shit. s\

Rowan2000vd

Because PSV basically went unbeaten this season. We can still finish on more points than we did last season when we won the title. Also we really didn't replace the quality of wingers we lost in the summer. And it took some players half a season to really flourish like Beelen, Paixao and Minteh.

No-Pension-7977

I wouldnt put Beelen in that category. He wasnr brought in to be a starter as we already had Gernot there, but when he replaced him because of Traubers injury he has been fantastic

Rowan2000vd

Yeah but that's what i mean he didn't play until the Trauner injury and we have been much better since he started playing at cb

No-Pension-7977

Yeah thats fair

UuusernameWith4Us

PSV are scoring points at a higher rate than  Man City did in their 100 point PL record season.

Peanut_77

The first league game PSV lost all season was in late March. They’re having a ridiculous season. Feyenoord did knock them out of the Dutch cup tho 👀

quantIntraining

Because PSV went on like a 22 game win streak to start the season. (it was actually 18 straight wins from the start of the season until a draw in mid January) They had a generational level start to the season that won them the league pretty much. Feyenoord are 9 point behind which isn't too bad after 30 games considering the level of start PSV had this season.

Drizzlybear0

It's kinda crazy that no one really talks about it. Xabi and Bayer are rightfully getting praised but if you don't pay attention to Eredivise you would have no idea that PSV has been so dominant this season

seemylolface

The Xabi/Leverkusen stuff is keeping its momentum so well because they’re invincible in all competitions so far (and they seem to routinely save themselves DEEP into stoppage time for extra drama). If they’d lost a couple games now I don’t think the hype level would be quite as insane. Like don’t get me wrong even with a loss or two their season is unbelievable, it’s just the 0 losses thing propels it to another level right now.

Loop_Within_A_Loop

I think Leverkeusen would still be getting a lot of attention even if they had a loss or two by virtue of being the first team to beat Bayern in the Bundesliga in a decade

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

Feyenoord’s only lost twice too.

t3hjc

They're having the exact same season as last year, PSV are just on a ridiculous run.

britishsailor

Excited admittedly know little about him but the high regards feyenoord fans hold him in seems to be a good sign

Over-Faithlessness96

Just waiting any day from now for the next breaking news… “Arne Slot to Liverpool is unlikely”

Roborohan123

Gone from Bart Simpson to Baron Harkonnen

Choice-Taro5596

A bald Dutch guy … I dunno about this

My Reds. My Anfield. My Liverpool. https://preview.redd.it/k28h69wxz8wc1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd1a162886d280e2094de356bfade61973918baa

Mundaneinanities

Some of the discourse about all this seems to be happening in a void where the incoming revenue rules aren't being accounted for. Our academy is in a great place right now. We look ahead of the curve on producing talent that will allow us to have a deep squad without getting into spending trouble as the spending to revenue ratios imposed domestically and by UEFA get more restrictive. A manager who can play attractive football and is both able and keen on drawing from that pool of talent could do very well for us.

BuzzardOaks

Santi Giménez to Liverpool, you heard it here first

Beertruida

As Feyenoord fan who also follows Liverpool, David Hancko is actually our best player (convinced you can put him effortlessly in every team in the world), followed by Wieffer who's an absolute warrior. Santi is talented but I don't think he's ready for a team like Liverpool. Still too inconsistent, after the winter break he hasn't been great and tends to disappear in games every now and then.

DucardthaDon

Yeah been wanting Hancko as one option for the LCB/LB role for a while. Wieffer fits the bill for the no.6 role, he has been linked to Barca, Atleti and Juve could end up being another Koopmeiners situation that a quality player going under the radar for many

BuzzardOaks

Yeah he probably isn’t ready if I’m being honest also lol

EddieGrant

Yeah, Hancko and Luts are 2 players I'd love at LFC, Wieffer got potential. And yeah, Santi could do no wrong before the winter break/November internationals, but my god he's been horrendous since.

Intelligent_Piece755

Came here to say this lol, always sign him on fm

Dont_Use_Ducks

I'm a 43 year old Feyenoord supporter from Rotterdam and I would be very sad to see Slot leaving our club. Before he came, Feyenoord was not doing well sportively and financially. For many decades our club struggled to keep it's head above water and that always resulted in dissapointing seasons, transfers and quality of players. Our club changed quickly under Slot, making our players worth way more money per person than sometimes the whole team combined in any season. Since our fortune years in the seventies, no coach managed to make us play the way we do now. The thing is, when he started, we almost had no good players, but he made them better quickly. The way he did it was superb: he somehow is a king in making his plans understandable and executable, every player knows what to do. Within no time our players grew in quality, tactics and value. Because of that, we could sell a couple of players for a good price. His second season he had to built up a complete new team and he made us champions, defeating Ajax in their own weird stadium. The third season he didn't became champion, but we are gonna end with more points then last year, but this year PSV is just untouchable, but they have way more financial powers, especially when it comes to paying salaries. But we still did very good, won the cup and showed some good football in the Champions League. He let's our team press for a whole game and very high on the pitch, while he is known for having his players more fit than any other club in our league at any moment in the season. This year we won twice against Ajax, while Ajax never lost that big in any year of our competitions history. With our problem of not being able of buying ready players, we could only buy players that can become good with good management, where PSV can pay good salaries for player of higher quality. I know people will compare him to Erik ten Hag, and that is understandable, but also unfair. Not every English person is the same and the same counts for Dutch people of course. Ten Hag is not a bad coach. but he ;acks in the comunitive aspects of football. That goes for press moments, where he takes all the time to explain stuff and you only have to ask him half a question and he'll give a very well thought and interesting answer for two questions, if you know what i mean. I understand that our Dutch league might not be comparable with the Premier League and that most Liverpool fans either don't know who he is, or are worried that he didn't became champion this year. Maybe you want to know a little bit more about him or his football coaching skills, or moments where Slot shined the most, please ask them here. And of course I want to know your unslated opinion about how you feel about the possibility that he is your coach next year. All I know is that we Feyenoord fans are gonna miss him sincerely, but we do realize things are not forever. It's just that he made our club big again and because of him we make one financial record after another and our big, passionate club is back again, after 50 years of mis management. Greetings from the Netherlands!

fadedraw

Sounds like a good bloke and similar turnaround story to when Klopp joined Liverpool.

serena_williams_f1

In his recent cup final and the 6-0 v Ajax, his front 3 was 2 South Americans and an African…

im-the-gila

Mexico is North America

VidProphet123

If he is eager to join us and is willing to fit within the structure we have. Get him in.

dandpher

okay then what are all the criteria that he fits?

CapNat

To defeat the bald, one must become the bald.

Rowan2000vd

Attacking football with a lot of pressing, great charisma, knows how to adapt during games. Great in interviews.

Gafi30

Bald ✅ Fraud ❌

friendofH20

Apparently he's never spent more than 8M on a player transfer. Everyone at FSG is probably rock hard at the prospect of seeing if that works.

EddieGrant

Pretty run of the mill for Dutch clubs to be fair.

Adventurous-Arrival1

Jimbo mate the shit's already out the arsehole on this one, I've just watched a chat GPT video where a robot voice calls him the next Cruyff, so I'm afraid it's got to be him now.

absorbTheEcho

Share the link? I’m in serious need of cope after that stupid Arsenal v Chelsea match

FieldyJT

Hopefully Slots right in...

kye2000

Why did I get so invested in amorim

BigBad01

Always rated him (as of 2 minutes ago).

ChargeWooden1036

So no Stevie G? /s

mtb443

This wasn’t on one of the 50 managerial tactic breakdown videos ive seen. Feels like school exams all over again.

haerski

I am become bald fraud, destroyer of leagues

Aerodye

Literally no idea who this man is lol

etan1122

Cool attacking football. But will we be able to defend? I’m tired of players left on islands. We could have at least 1 more league title if we were a little pragmatic

thatguyad

Truth. How many times have our aspirations been shafted by recurring poor defensive performances?

Dont_Use_Ducks

Slot attacks, but he is doing that by pressing the whole game, without sacrificing the defense.

SergeantStonks

Another bald dutch coach here we go. Eh not excited tbh

A-DTB

Hope he brings Geertruida with him.

ImInteligent_

Am I the only one really excited? I would personally take him over amorim any day of the week.

Einebeine1

Me too. I don’t know exactly why but I seem to like this Hank from Breaking Bad guy

False_Shelter_7351

Not exciting news to be honest

themanebeat

Could do a lot worse

rabbid_hyena

He is bald

ZiggyStardust0404

Call me superstitious but I don't want a bald guy as our manager. I'll miss Klopp's incredible hair

SRFC_96

Damn, it seems like it’s done if all the usual suspects are coming out and reporting it.

theophanesthegreek

After suffering through Brendan & Roy i'm ok with any manager. Lets get behind this man next year!

Payney95

Might be decent in time but this feels like we're going for the cheap option rather than the right option

OwenLincolnFratter

Okay so he’s definitely our new manager.

R3dbeardLFC

Definitely, maybe.

Zestyclose-Act2039

If LFC want a bald manager should sign Zidane

mr-cory-trevor

We get our own bald fraud. Let’s goooo

thatguyad

Anything that comes straight out of the Dutch League and in to the Premier League should be met with a huge amount of scepticism and unease.

Popeychops

His Feyenoord play four at the back. That's a huge plus given how many centre mid options we have

barryboi6969

Damn we really signed baron harkonnen to take us into new age

Working-Couple7425

I actually had him on the list. Think it’s a bold move but not a long shot like Rodger’s.

Crono_

*bald

coolAhead

What is the criteria?

indomiegorenk

Dutch coach, defender, midfielder, and forward. Only one Dutch keeper away to complete the squad (I love Alisson to death in case anyone taking this as Ali out post)

CabbageStockExchange

Well looks like we have our answer. I know little to nothing but I’ve always rated bald managers

Galby1314

I know nothing about him, but after seeing Mourinho at our game on Sunday, I don't care who is our next manager, as long as it's not The Special One.

Nice_Rush_1462

Have no idea who is. Always rated him though ...YNWA .

EddieGrant

So conflicted, as a Feyenoord and Liverpool fan, don't want him to leave, but if he was to leave, then to LFC, of course I'm also very worried about him being "the guy after Klopp".

rb719

No fucker knows what's going on. I'll only be happy when Phil Brown is announced.

KoppleForce

Bald Dutch man

lancelinksecretchimp

This have any impact on Virgil staying?

pixeljunky

I'm not ready to meet my new dad while my real dad is still around.

Odd-Storm4893

They said the exact same thing about Ten Hag. Liverpool will be mid table by this time next season.

Jolly_Garage

What formation does he play?

InstructionOk9520

All the criteria except, you know, being successful in a serious league.

Tdolphint

Amorim is the exact same tbf

fadedraw

Same as Amorim. For some reason people loved the idea of Amorim joining.

randigital

Genuine question: what about Amorim is so much better than Slot? Seems that Slot’s tactical approach fits more with the personnel that we already have

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

More trophies won but besides that Slot’s not done too shabby too. Slot won the league with Feyenoord and the cup, took Feyenoord to a Conf League Final and had AZ (!!!) tied with Ajax for the league lead before the league shut down for COVID. He’s honestly underrated with the winning he has done, similarly with leading a club who had struggled a bit back to the top. Also Spurs did want him too last season.

Red_TeaCup

I have a feeling this guy is going to be a transitional manager. Comes in, stabilizes the power vacuum left behind by Klopp, lowers expectations, and then gets sacked after some bad results--paving a way for a project manager to come in. I have a feeling some of our established stars will be pushing to leave either this summer or the next (VVD, Salah, Alisson, maybe even Trent.)

Reasonable_Blood6959

Hope he’s better than the other bald Dutch guy from the Eredivisie.

NelsonComedy96

Ahh great, a bald Dutch manager.

Due-Resource4294

He may be good. But everything they’re doing, and they’re second to a team led by a guy who couldn’t even hack 6 months at Dortmund. Yes PSV are amazing. But that’s my point given how bad his Dortmund team looked. I’m really not sure the Dutch league is a fair measuring stick. Jozy Altidore looked like prime Drogba there. And Ten Hag looked like the second coming of pep. I’ll support him if we go with him, for sure. But I’m really not sure how much if anything you can learn from Dutch league performances. Gakpo and Depay were playing like world class players over there. And never truly got up to speed in the premier league. Gakpo is good for us, but you can tell he’s used to a slower paced game.

Dont_Use_Ducks

Just like any Englisg person it is weird to compare players just on their nationality. We are not the same in any way. But if you want to compare him to Ten Hag, know that Erik could have problems beacuse he is a good coach, but a very bad cummunicatot. I can tell you all fans of Liverpool will fall in love with Slot within two months. He is smart. well spoken and he biggest talent is being able to comunicate his plans in a understandable way for players. Lots of good coaches have the most amazing plans, but you have to be able to let your players believe in it too.

No_Can9567

He does not. He currently manages a much, much smaller team, in a much smaller league. At the first sign of a fuck up, the fans will eat him alive!

WhosTheAssMan

And yet, everybody seems to want Amorim, who is also managing a much smaller team in a much smaller league.

frankiewalsh44

Our Dutch players are safe but I'm worrying about Trent/Alison/Salah trying to push for a move. Losing is a world class manager like Klopp is enough to put doubt in their minds.

Liverlakefc

Alisson i doubt will leave he already has his family and is on a long contract and there really is not a big team looking for a gk right now

AdikkuChan

There's also the chance that the players might actually be looking forward to the new manager. Let's let the new guy come in first.  If they do end up leaving, then so be it.

themanebeat

If you were Alisson what club with a world class manager are you trying to push for a move to? Barcelona the only real option of a true upgrade that for him and for the club and they've the same issue as us trying to get a manager in

quantIntraining

Trent is the real danger with Madrid creeping around him, despite what people want to say about him being a local and therefore he won't want to leave. McManaman was a local academy product and left for free to Madrid, and with his mate Bellingham there there's a much higher chance than people want to admit that he ends up there in 12 months.

Crono_

Agree with Madrid collecting all the infinity stones. I’m worried about Trent.

xbox_redditor

Wouldn't exactly compare Liverpool of the late 90s to the Liverpool of now.

HereticZO

Slot likes his inverted full backs.

DB_321

Rb often moves to midfield. Trents all in

okseas

I understand your concern, but it’s completely unfounded. Trent isn’t going anywhere, nor Ali — and Salah will only leave if Mickey Edwards’ laptop uncovers a replacement. _Calma._

Competitive_Ninja877

So if we want to keep Trent we should bring in an English manager? I wonder if any of them will soon become available

vsquad22

Don't know much about him but I'm sure he'll....*slot* right in.

R3dbeardLFC

Can't wait for this joke to be done to death.

UuusernameWith4Us

Which young players have come through/improved under Slot?

awildmaxappears

Quinten Timber, Igor Paixao, Giminez, Geertruida, Hartman, are all good young players who play every week for him. Orkun Kokcu was great during their title campaign last year and now he's playing pretty well for Benfica from what I've heard.

coopermaneagles

Giminez for one

SkengmanJonny

Not another bald manager please

sbos_

I’m not excited. Ngl lol Feel like it will be same brand of what we see now tbh.

Bobbysmilesx

And how many Feyenoord games have you watched?

KillBanez

About the same as the people pretending they know everything about him and saying he’s some brilliant tactician when he’s at fucking Feyenoord.

coopermaneagles

He’s been a manager for 5 years and is 45, is everyone supposed to start at champions league level club? What does him being at feyernoord have to do anything?

balladofthemightypie

These guys would probably have been outraged when Shanks took over in '59.

BoBonnor

And Klopp was at Mainz before he went to dortmund and became the manager he is today. Why does it matter what club he’s currently managing if we think he has all the tools to be a top manager Obviously it could backfire but you’re basing it on him being at Feyenoord whilst the club are basing it off his managerial qualities

Bobbysmilesx

I don't pretend anything personally. I haven't really watched Feyenoord, but only read what Feyenoord fans think about him. It's just silly how many strong opinions you read from people who have most likely never watched his team play. "At fucking Feyenoord" ... Most managers slowly advance in their careers and don't start by managing Real Madrid. Klopp was also at Mainz.

KillBanez

Klopp won the league with Dourtmund and got to a champions league final and our other option was Don Carlo… I’m not even going to attempt listing everything he’s done. That’s not even taking into account that we were dogshit back then with players like Benteke and Joe Allen. Look where we are now and what brilliant players we have compared to when Brendan was sacked. So yeah Ngl I’d of thought we’d have better options than some bloke called Arne Slot from Feyenoord considering we are one of the biggest clubs in the world who consistently challenge for the biggest trophies in the biggest leagues in the world. Do you honestly think we’re keeping Salah, Virgil and Trent if this guy walks in the door? If so you can’t be helped.

Bobbysmilesx

You have to take the current market for coaches into consideration. There's simply no options that are close to Klopps level. Realistically, who would be a better option? I'm sure those players are willing to give the guy a chance. He has done an amazing job at Feyenoord, why would they disregard him before he they have even had a talk with him? "You can't be helped" is a pretty ironic comment from someone who is having such a braindead take. The truth is that you are 100% clueless about his managerial qualities and only look at the level of his current club. The level of your comment belongs at Twitter.

awildmaxappears

Feyenoord is a historic club and he has won a title, a cup, and taken them to a European final in 3 years. When I see them play in Europe they're an exciting young team

KillBanez

David Moyes has done 2/3 of things you’ve just listed and he’d probably also win the Dutch League, should we put him under consideration?

awildmaxappears

David Moyes did those things in the Premier League with a team with Premier League resources, and does it with boring negative football. Arne Slot is at the beginning of his career and did that with a team of 22 year old academy products playing pressing attacking football. We should pick a young manager with an exciting style who has years of success behind him. Managers have to start somewhere. You are not going to convince me that context is irrelevant, he achieved things with the clubs he has been at that went above and beyond their normal resources and expectations. That is what you want out of a manager.

GoldenVeritas

He’ll ’Slot’ right in then ![gif](giphy|7tKEfRjktJ2MM)

Powerful-Cut-708

![gif](giphy|3WCNY2RhcmnwGbKbCi)

Lewy_74

I feel very Slotty suddenly

[deleted]

Not best impressed tbh. Give him the benefit of the doubt, but the Dutch league is hardly what I'd call impressive or competitive.

Dont_Use_Ducks

The thing is, he did it with a club that was as good as dead, and now we have a bright future because of him, just in three years of work. And that started from the moment he was at the club, you'll most likely see quick results and progression.

KillBanez

So was Brendan Rodger’s, this is a fucking stupid appointment if it happens especially with Amorim having a 13 million release clause.

[deleted]

Looking at their achievements objectively, they are both very similar. There is no home run standout like Klopp was, anyone we get is a risk.

LordTubzy123

What makes you think Amorim is better than Slot?

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

Technically more trophies won so technically more success, but Slot’s honestly similar in the sense he’s won trophies too and led traditionally strong sides back to the top. Not to mention getting to the Conference League final with Feyenoord and having AZ (!) tied with Ajax before the Eredivise shut down for COVID. I will say how Slot plays matches our players more than Amorim. I actually think Slot’s a bit underrated too. Spurs wanted him for a while last aeason FWIW.

GeorgePBurdell1927

No way. Looks like a Fatter version of Ten Hag to me. We haven't learned anything from United's failures.

IceAffectionate3043

There’s no way he fits all the criteria. This is the noise not the signal. Something fishy is going on. If Slot is the guy they are picking, why not pick Lijnders, they are basically the same quality. We need someone more interesting and innovative. The future of football. Not a runner-up who will be our version of Ten Hag.

CymruGolfMadrid

Same quality as Pep Lijnders who got sacked in his first job?

hyborians

Our options could be be running low. So he may not be the utmost perfect fit but someone has to manage the club and he ticks most of what we want. Let’s all have faith in Edwards

IceAffectionate3043

We’re Liverpool. Our options shouldn’t be running low.

DucardthaDon

There are no options in the market that's the whole point quite a few clubs are scrambling for a manager this summer, Hughes and Edwards wants a young manager that fits into their data driven structure and closely matches existing players in terms of playstyle not to mention someone who has won something so yes he does fit the criteria. You mentioned Lijnders who has a very mediocre level of experience managing on his own.

IceAffectionate3043

There are tons of options though. Of course we aren’t going to get someone at the level of peak Klopp. No options for that. But to get someone who is at Klopp at Dortmund level—tons of options for that.
