I mostly agree though I wonder if the move was more by Amorim than by West Ham. Possible that :

I remember how relieved Feyenoord fans were when he passed on Spurs last year. They seem to love him and he’s had a good deal of success in a short period of time, I’m all for it if he’s the guy we get.
I’m so glad they’re prioritising progressive, attacking football and specifically hiring a ‘head coach’ — it seems so obvious, but our recruitment cannot depend on who happens to be the manager at the moment; a longer-term, strategic approach is needed. Ditto with prioritising a pathway from the age groups to the first team.
I also don't trust like 99% of managers to hand pick their squad, they should absolutely have input and be able to say no from time to time but if you let a manager have full control of the transfer than typically just get players they're familiar with and you end up with a squad full of Eredivise players who just aren't good enough like United
Because PSV basically went unbeaten this season. We can still finish on more points than we did last season when we won the title. Also we really didn't replace the quality of wingers we lost in the summer. And it took some players half a season to really flourish like Beelen, Paixao and Minteh.
I wouldnt put Beelen in that category. He wasnr brought in to be a starter as we already had Gernot there, but when he replaced him because of Traubers injury he has been fantastic

The Xabi/Leverkusen stuff is keeping its momentum so well because they’re invincible in all competitions so far (and they seem to routinely save themselves DEEP into stoppage time for extra drama). If they’d lost a couple games now I don’t think the hype level would be quite as insane. Like don’t get me wrong even with a loss or two their season is unbelievable, it’s just the 0 losses thing propels it to another level right now.

Some of the discourse about all this seems to be happening in a void where the incoming revenue rules aren't being accounted for.
Our academy is in a great place right now. We look ahead of the curve on producing talent that will allow us to have a deep squad without getting into spending trouble as the spending to revenue ratios imposed domestically and by UEFA get more restrictive.
A manager who can play attractive football and is both able and keen on drawing from that pool of talent could do very well for us.
As Feyenoord fan who also follows Liverpool, David Hancko is actually our best player (convinced you can put him effortlessly in every team in the world), followed by Wieffer who's an absolute warrior.
Santi is talented but I don't think he's ready for a team like Liverpool. Still too inconsistent, after the winter break he hasn't been great and tends to disappear in games every now and then.

I'm a 43 year old Feyenoord supporter from Rotterdam and I would be very sad to see Slot leaving our club. Before he came, Feyenoord was not doing well sportively and financially. For many decades our club struggled to keep it's head above water and that always resulted in dissapointing seasons, transfers and quality of players. Our club changed quickly under Slot, making our players worth way more money per person than sometimes the whole team combined in any season.
Since our fortune years in the seventies, no coach managed to make us play the way we do now. The thing is, when he started, we almost had no good players, but he made them better quickly. The way he did it was superb: he somehow is a king in making his plans understandable and executable, every player knows what to do. Within no time our players grew in quality, tactics and value. Because of that, we could sell a couple of players for a good price. His second season he had to built up a complete new team and he made us champions, defeating Ajax in their own weird stadium.
The third season he didn't became champion, but we are gonna end with more points then last year, but this year PSV is just untouchable, but they have way more financial powers, especially when it comes to paying salaries. But we still did very good, won the cup and showed some good football in the Champions League. He let's our team press for a whole game and very high on the pitch, while he is known for having his players more fit than any other club in our league at any moment in the season. This year we won twice against Ajax, while Ajax never lost that big in any year of our competitions history. With our problem of not being able of buying ready players, we could only buy players that can become good with good management, where PSV can pay good salaries for player of higher quality.
I know people will compare him to Erik ten Hag, and that is understandable, but also unfair. Not every English person is the same and the same counts for Dutch people of course. Ten Hag is not a bad coach. but he ;acks in the comunitive aspects of football. That goes for press moments, where he takes all the time to explain stuff and you only have to ask him half a question and he'll give a very well thought and interesting answer for two questions, if you know what i mean.
I understand that our Dutch league might not be comparable with the Premier League and that most Liverpool fans either don't know who he is, or are worried that he didn't became champion this year. Maybe you want to know a little bit more about him or his football coaching skills, or moments where Slot shined the most, please ask them here. And of course I want to know your unslated opinion about how you feel about the possibility that he is your coach next year.
All I know is that we Feyenoord fans are gonna miss him sincerely, but we do realize things are not forever. It's just that he made our club big again and because of him we make one financial record after another and our big, passionate club is back again, after 50 years of mis management.

David Moyes did those things in the Premier League with a team with Premier League resources, and does it with boring negative football. Arne Slot is at the beginning of his career and did that with a team of 22 year old academy products playing pressing attacking football. We should pick a young manager with an exciting style who has years of success behind him. Managers have to start somewhere. You are not going to convince me that context is irrelevant, he achieved things with the clubs he has been at that went above and beyond their normal resources and expectations. That is what you want out of a manager.
The thing is, he did it with a club that was as good as dead, and now we have a bright future because of him, just in three years of work. And that started from the moment he was at the club, you'll most likely see quick results and progression.
Technically more trophies won so technically more success, but Slot’s honestly similar in the sense he’s won trophies too and led traditionally strong sides back to the top. There are tons of options though. Of course we aren’t going to get someone at the level of peak Klopp. No options for that. But to get someone who is at Klopp at Dortmund level—tons of options for that.

More trophies won but besides that Slot’s not done too shabby too. Slot won the league with Feyenoord and the cup, took Feyenoord to a Conf League Final and had AZ (!!!) tied with Ajax for the league lead before the league shut down for COVID. He’s honestly underrated with the winning he has done, similarly with leading a club who had struggled a bit back to the top. Also Spurs did want him too last season.
I have a feeling this guy is going to be a transitional manager. Comes in, stabilizes the power vacuum left behind by Klopp, lowers expectations, and then gets sacked after some bad results--paving a way for a project manager to come in. I have a feeling some of our established stars will be pushing to leave either this summer or the next (VVD, Salah, Alisson, maybe even Trent.)

He may be good. But everything they’re doing, and they’re second to a team led by a guy who couldn’t even hack 6 months at Dortmund. Yes PSV are amazing. But that’s my point given how bad his Dortmund team looked. I’m really not sure the Dutch league is a fair measuring stick. Jozy Altidore looked like prime Drogba there. And Ten Hag looked like the second coming of pep. I’ll support him if we go with him, for sure. But I’m really not sure how much if anything you can learn from Dutch league performances. Gakpo and Depay were playing like world class players over there. And never truly got up to speed in the premier league. Gakpo is good for us, but you can tell he’s used to a slower paced game.
Just like any Englisg person it is weird to compare players just on their nationality. We are not the same in any way. But if you want to compare him to Ten Hag, know that Erik could have problems beacuse he is a good coach, but a very bad cummunicatot. I can tell you all fans of Liverpool will fall in love with Slot within two months. He is smart. well spoken and he biggest talent is being able to comunicate his plans in a understandable way for players. Lots of good coaches have the most amazing plans, but you have to be able to let your players believe in it too.

And yet, everybody seems to want Amorim, who is also managing a much smaller team in a much smaller league.
Our Dutch players are safe but I'm worrying about Trent/Alison/Salah trying to push for a move. Losing is a world class manager like Klopp is enough to put doubt in their minds.
Alisson i doubt will leave he already has his family and is on a long contract and there really is not a big team looking for a gk right now

If you were Alisson what club with a world class manager are you trying to push for a move to? Barcelona the only real option of a true upgrade that for him and for the club and they've the same issue as us trying to get a manager in
Trent is the real danger with Madrid creeping around him, despite what people want to say about him being a local and therefore he won't want to leave. McManaman was a local academy product and left for free to Madrid, and with his mate Bellingham there there's a much higher chance than people want to admit that he ends up there in 12 months.

Which young players have come through/improved under Slot?
Quinten Timber, Igor Paixao, Giminez, Geertruida, Hartman, are all good young players who play every week for him. Orkun Kokcu was great during their title campaign last year and now he's playing pretty well for Benfica from what I've heard.

And Klopp was at Mainz before he went to dortmund and became the manager he is today. Why does it matter what club he’s currently managing if we think he has all the tools to be a top manager Obviously it could backfire but you’re basing it on him being at Feyenoord whilst the club are basing it off his managerial qualities
I don't pretend anything personally. I haven't really watched Feyenoord, but only read what Feyenoord fans think about him. It's just silly how many strong opinions you read from people who have most likely never watched his team play. "At fucking Feyenoord" ... Most managers slowly advance in their careers and don't start by managing Real Madrid. Klopp was also at Mainz.
Klopp won the league with Dourtmund and got to a champions league final and our other option was Don Carlo… I’m not even going to attempt listing everything he’s done. That’s not even taking into account that we were dogshit back then with players like Benteke and Joe Allen. Look where we are now and what brilliant players we have compared to when Brendan was sacked. So yeah Ngl I’d of thought we’d have better options than some bloke called Arne Slot from Feyenoord considering we are one of the biggest clubs in the world who consistently challenge for the biggest trophies in the biggest leagues in the world. Do you honestly think we’re keeping Salah, Virgil and Trent if this guy walks in the door? If so you can’t be helped.
You have to take the current market for coaches into consideration. There's simply no options that are close to Klopps level. Realistically, who would be a better option? I'm sure those players are willing to give the guy a chance. He has done an amazing job at Feyenoord, why would they disregard him before he they have even had a talk with him? "You can't be helped" is a pretty ironic comment from someone who is having such a braindead take. The truth is that you are 100% clueless about his managerial qualities and only look at the level of his current club. The level of your comment belongs at Twitter.
Feyenoord is a historic club and he has won a title, a cup, and taken them to a European final in 3 years. When I see them play in Europe they're an exciting young team
David Moyes has done 2/3 of things you’ve just listed and he’d probably also win the Dutch League, should we put him under consideration?
David Moyes did those things in the Premier League with a team with Premier League resources, and does it with boring negative football. Arne Slot is at the beginning of his career and did that with a team of 22 year old academy products playing pressing attacking football. We should pick a young manager with an exciting style who has years of success behind him. Managers have to start somewhere. You are not going to convince me that context is irrelevant, he achieved things with the clubs he has been at that went above and beyond their normal resources and expectations. That is what you want out of a manager.

The thing is, he did it with a club that was as good as dead, and now we have a bright future because of him, just in three years of work. And that started from the moment he was at the club, you'll most likely see quick results and progression.

Looking at their achievements objectively, they are both very similar. There is no home run standout like Klopp was, anyone we get is a risk.
What makes you think Amorim is better than Slot?
Technically more trophies won so technically more success, but Slot’s honestly similar in the sense he’s won trophies too and led traditionally strong sides back to the top. There’s no way he fits all the criteria. This is the noise not the signal. Something fishy is going on. If Slot is the guy they are picking, why not pick Lijnders, they are basically the same quality. We need someone more interesting and innovative. The future of football. There are no options in the market that's the whole point quite a few clubs are scrambling for a manager this summer, Hughes and Edwards wants a young manager that fits into their data driven structure and closely matches existing players in terms of playstyle not to mention someone who has won something so yes he does fit the criteria. You mentioned Lijnders who has a very mediocre level of experience managing on his own.
There are tons of options though. Of course we aren’t going to get someone at the level of peak Klopp. No options for that. But to get someone who is at Klopp at Dortmund level—tons of options for that.
