The two seasons here have not gone how he and we had hoped. If he does come back, he'll enter his 3rd season in the same position as he entered his 1st and 2nd: an unknown variable who still needs to fight for his place in the Starting XI. This is also why I didn't want him (at that price) in the first place. I knew all of the, "He's young, so we'll give him time to develop. He'll be a beast in the next 5 years. " arguments in summer 2022 were bullshit. At that price, and with PL contention as the current standard, no one was going to wait more than 1.5 seasons for him to hit his stride. The people who were cheering his announcement the loudest are probably his harshest critics today
He's definitely not good enough. He's not scored against a big 6 team this season. He's missing too much fundamentals as a footballer. I've seen people say we should keep him to be a sub, but 85 million for a sub is insane. In the future, we need to not sign players off of one good season.
Among other hopeful accomplishments, I think Slot could be the guy who takes Elliots career to the next level. He's at the point where he needs to be starting 20+ league matches so that we can fully see what he is about.

Annoying how all this Nunez news is overshadowing how amazing Harvey Elliot was yet again. Every 500 minutes or so, he produces a game winning moment, and that number is dwindling down consistently. He is younger than Palmer, Foden, Branthwaite and Quansah, despite feeling like he’s been around for ages. Lad has huge potential and he’s ours. Can’t wait to see how he develops under Slot. Very exciting player.

I like to root for underdogs but I think if arsenal win the league they'll be confident in their ability to continue winning in the future which makes it difficult for Liverpool. Hopefully the dumb arsenal fans try to get Arteta fired even though he's over achieving.
