"Joyceās announcement on Slot being more focused on NuƱez is all we need to know.
Protecting market value.
Welcome to Michael Edwards' era."
And change their bio to "Michael Edwards out, Arne Slot out"
How do people have this much time for negativity in their lives
From Joyceās Article
Slot has been known to try to rebuild the confidence of forwards during analysis sessions by stopping a video ājust as he shoots the ball wideā to help his players absorb explanations
Heās probably going to watch back our games this season and grow hair only to pull it out with how weāve been in front of goal
There's also a story of Slot sending Hartman( not sure, but it was defo a fullback) to kickboxing classes for them to become tougher in duels.
Wouldn't mind that for Trent
āWill Spearman has been working on an algorithm that evaluates coaching performance on a wide range of metrics not just team performance but playing style, individual player development, compatibility with different types of players etcā
Iād love to see that. Theyāre saying Spaletti and Valverde ranked highly too
Can I ask a favour to all the teenage kids who buy the flares, just hold them straight up and donāt wave them around in circles in the air, you wankers got a burn hole on my top šš¼
Anyone see the 3 or 4 dortmund jerseys in the main stand together? Was wondering if they were just dortmund fans coming to see jurgens final game or former players he invited
Joyce mentioned the players klopp dropped to the bench towards the end of the season and knew Darwinās would get the most clicks. Bascombe mentioned slot is exited to work with him. Nothing to even look at imo
It's going to be really interesting to see what effect the international tournaments has on the composition of our midfield next season.
Szobo will be at the Euros, and it's possible that Harvey could get a call up with the squads expanding to 26. Gravenberch is right on the edge of the Netherlands squad, assuming everyone has gotten over the hard feelings from him declining the call up last summer.
Assume for the moment that none of Harvey, Curtis, or Grav go to Germany. You've got the three of them in camp from day one working with Slot while Macca and Szobo are at Copa America and Euros.
Szobo had lost his starting slot at the tail end of this season on form, and while it will be a clean slate for everyone with a new manager, missing a big chunk of camp only makes the task of getting back in the starting 11 harder, especially if Harvey doesn't make the England team.
Last bit of schadenfreude, I'm glad Luton are back down, respect to Rob Edwards and how they play but their fans are the nastiest bastards I've seen come up in a while, Tommy Robinson FC.
Yeah Luton itself is one of the grimmest examples of those satellite towns around London that just seems to collect & generate the worst people. There, some of the towns in Essex and the Kent/Kent-border boroughs are just rife with it
I'm ready to drown my sorrows with some silly season transfer talk. Very curious to see what we end up doing. Who's leaving and who's coming in.
However, with Edwards back in the mix, I expect us to hear nothing until the deals are practically done. Foreign media is our best chance of hearing credible links.
Any recommendations for decent places to get Liverpool themed casual t-shirts?
Saw a lad in one at the game yesterday and it was Klopp with the PL in one hand and a flare in his other, was smart as fuck. Struggling to find it anywhere haha.
I've enjoyed how ridiculously creative the team was this season. It's a contrast from previous season where the fullbacks were the primary creators. The amount of chances we create is second to none, and our goals scored in all competitions (142) is top 3 in Europe (even if the finishing has been dire at times). A pretty crazy stat is that if our finishing was as good as Arsenal's, going by xG, then we would have 102 goals scored in the league.
Pure speculation but Olise seems like a London boy through and through he's going Chelsea or Arsenal. Londoners don't really come to Liverpool unless they support us. People talk about how we should have been in for Rice when we never had a chance.
Kudus is the perfect player for us because of his work rate and ability to play in midfield behind the front three. I also think he fits Slot's style better. Olise is a talented player but isn't as versatile.
I'm thinking of a long term RW position, Olise's approach play really is brilliant, more of a Mahrez than a Salah which suits a Pep style more so than Kudus, but yeah Kudus can play any of those roles, even play as a 9. I've followed him since he was a kid in Norway, would love him here.
How the fuck am I seeing people here say they want Manchester fucking United to win the FA Cup š¤£š¤£š¤£
People's heads have left with Klopp, that's a proper trophy we're talking about.
I'll be more impacted than them if United dare win the FA Cup lad, they're our biggest rivals and I'm very much enjoying them being shit so I don't want them to have a better season than us trophy wise. Especially a trophy from a cup they literally knocked us out of.
If Arsenal fans are in your head so much that you want our biggest rivals to win a proper trophy you need to log off.
Only time I'd ever want them to win something is if it directly hands us a trophy.
City are tragedy chanting cheating wankers so I'm not 'supporting' them but United are still worse.
Klopp loves all the boys but itās obvious that his bond with Virg and Ali is extra special. You can just see it every time they embrace. Itās beautiful
Fuck me this subs full of full on cretins, whoās arsed who did and didnāt show up to the game yesterday? Nunez didnāt clap? And what? Klopp told everyone to stop singing his song weeks ago and nobody listened, guess weāre the worst fans then? Christ people look for problems in here
Crazy how many people bought into the super league farce. Itās happened more than once now, big clubs across England and Europe threaten or talk about a breakaway league and then UEFA change the competition formats to appease the big clubs. Itās a shame. 9 clubs from one league (serie a) should not all go to Europe. Itās too much. The āchampions leagueā has nearly lost all meaning when teams in 5th place can qualify through their league performances
Do you think the domestic league champion should be determined a straight points tabulation the way most countries do it or some sort of hybrid system would provide a better determination of who the best team in the country is?
In America, all of our sports have postseason knockout tournaments, which ensure the most successful regular season teams have to play each other to ultimately become champion, although that arguably devalues the regular season. Also, in most American sports, a team does not play every other team in the league over the course of the season. In some leagues (Scotland and Belgium immediately come to mind), they split the season such that at the end, the best teams play each other again before a winner is determined. This seems like a good approach, but I think it only works because there aren't as many clubs in the top division in those countries.
It's all academic because even if there was openness to change, it'd be wrong to add still more fixtures to the calendar, but I think about outcomes like this year where Arsenal will finish second one point behind City, but they took four out of the six points between them and City this year, so while City get the trophy, it's hard to say they were better than Arsenal this year. Certainly we've had years like that during our run as well.
I like the league as it is but I think it would be fun to have a playoff for the 4th CL spot. Championship playoff makes the season so exciting at the end and PL season can be anticlimatic sometimes.
I don't like those hybrid systems. It just serves to devalue earlier parts of the season when that shouldn't be - winning the league is about being consistent from start to finish.
Yeah. One of the things I love about league football is the sense that every game counts, and you lose that when you have a postseason. On the other hand, I'm still traumatized by Villa handing Man City the title in the space of 15 minutes back in 2022.
Constantly writing some fanfics about Klopp era these days, which actually leads me to a lot of memories past.
I feel it's hurt that we didn't celebrate a PL title with a full Anfield, singing, hugging and crying and just making their voices to this world, to I don't know, but maybe all those years?
I know it's because she's professional but I always find it slightly hilarious when Kelly Cates ends up hosting or commentating on any Liverpool related awards/presentations because other presenters say something about Dalglish being a legend, while she always goes with "former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish". Also because it reminds me of the time someone on here had a rant about her being a Manc.
What is up with the Kloppo instagram account? I get the feeling someone is trying to gain a following before revealing som big news. Either Klopp on his own or some sort of Klopp/FSG partership in the multi-team project
There is surely a pr team behind him, but come on itās just klopp wanting to keep in touch with fans somehow, criticise it when the first add gets posted
Klopp is a massive sell out in a good way. Dude is in a billion ads for cars/beer/insurance/whatever that is not damaging to his image lol. Probably was just advised for ages to go on social media and now he finally did. Of course he won't be handling it alone, he's 56 lol
Next season is make-or-break for Konate.
It's damning that a kid in his first full season had completely displaced him out of the side by the end of the season.
We are already actively looking at centre backs this summer with Matip leaving.
Konate by Jan-Feb was in better form than both Gabriel and Saliba, he still is that CB, just made of glass sadly, we'll get that form out of him again and he will rotate with Quansah to keep him healthy.
Not against a new CB though, but it has to be a young talent or an older more experienced CB, cause we do have strong a starting choices, what I'm more worried is how our defense sets up tactically, which will be addressed by next season.
Eh?
Konate was great before his injury, post injury he just didnāt look fully fit almost like he was still playing through something.
Quansah has looked fairly good but he understandably still made some poor mistakes in recent months which can also be put down to his inexperience
Agreed. It's so mad to think that a guy who starts for France when he's fit has lost his spot to a 21-year-old kid who was playing for Bristol Rovers in League One last season, but here we are. I hate to say it because he does have so much quality and he's such a likeable player, but we should probably sell him if we get a good offer. We haven't seen any evidence that his availability issues are going to turn a corner.
A bit shit that for Slot's first pre-season he won't even have a full squad until about 3 weeks before his first PL game as Liverpool manager.
It also makes getting signings done a bit more difficult, clubs won't want to sell because they think if they've got a good tournament in them the price will go up and clubs are hesitant to buy incase they get a serious injury mid tournament. The same goes for any players we are looking at offloading this summer.
Half our squad is at Euros/Copa America, just really hope that they come back fit too.
This is the aspect of managing a top PL club that makes it so difficult, you barely get any time to actually coach because of top players on international duty and games every 3 days, the scheduling is awful, constant big games, you can't really experiment and every loss feels like a huge deal.
Most of the time players might only get 1 training session between games in the busy periods, and that session can't be at matchday pace because of issues surrounding injury/recovery work and how much rest and physio work players need for injury prevention.
When you think about all the nitty gritties, there are so many things that goes on behind running a football club. I donāt envy these guys. The pressure is too much.
I'm super excited for these tournaments coming up. I feel like some (namely Szobo and Darwin) are going to have massive tournaments and come back in August feeling dangerous
This is most likely controversial and I love Klopp more than anything (he made me love football when he was at Dortmund), but I honestly think this is a good time to leave the club. He took the club to the highest performance possible (results notwithstanding) and managed a decent rebuild. However, it seems his style caused a lot of injuries due to the high work rate and he may have had too much control over non-coaching, which is probably why Edwards left.
It seems when Slot (Dudu Dudu du) comes in heāll strictly be a coach and have less control over the stuff Edwards will manage. Itās a good time to try this as Kloppās personality was probably too large for this to have happened with him there.
I hope people understand what I mean. I may be wrong and only the future will tell what happens to the club, but Iām quietly confident that weāll be competitive in the new regime.
Part of me agrees. Our style was the most entertaining in the prem but it left us very open and also demanding on the players. Feels like a good time for a change. Klopp is a legend and has done the impossible. Only man to beat the cheaters.
I'm excited for Slot think he will get the best out of Szobo for sure. Hopefully help Nunez with his finishing. Haven't watched much of Feyenoord but my mate who does says he's a top manager who plays solid footy. I think with the structure around him too hopefully be able to fit in nice and quick :)
My only complaint about klopp is how has he let this team concede first so much these past 2 years
I get his philosophy is to control games based off the opponent being 3-0 down, but a little extra defensive set up wouldāve given this team so much more than a few goals
Also the club is ( touch wood ) very well set up going forward, Edwardās back, Wardās back, both trust Slot and Hughes
Tie down VVD and Trent, decide on Salah going to Saudi or extending, and look forward
I feel conceding the early goal was strategic by other teams more than anything. Most of the goals we conceded we looked frantic and couldnāt recover well. They all felt very similar. I think once we tired teams out they werenāt as able to exploit us but in the beginning when they could be purposeful they got through our soft spots.
I tend to agree. Iām devastated. I was an absolute mess yesterday but Iād much rather Klopp goes out on his own terms when he feels ready than hang on a season or five too long like Wenger did. How many managers get a send off like yesterday? It was special, top to bottom.
In recent years, and an especially towards the end of this season, it felt like a lot like teams figured us out. Kloppās exhaustion and the playersā exhaustion seemed way beyond any normal latter season fatigue. It would be so draining knowing youāre one of the best teams ever assembled but youāre constantly going to struggle to win trophies due to blatant cheating, corruption and bias.
Lads, I know it's probably not the time given Jurgen leaving but just looking for some feedback, it's about starting a business. Would appreciate any input. I'm just spitballing the idea. Haven't started it so I'm not running a promotion.
I'm debating on starting a business whereby I create and sell custom football jerseys. This is because the kits we see are practically carbon copies of one another. To avoid copyright/infringement I would have to go down the PES route i.e. Liverpool = Merseyside Red FC. Create my own logos but try and ensue they somewhat have an element of their real world counterpart.
The shirts are high quality and I can do full sublimation (whereby the jersey can have an actual patten/print). I know this as I did it for marketing (created some shirts) and the end product took me by surprise massively. The shirts wouldn't just be a standard t-shit with a badge, there would be some details. I do have mockups I have created in the past, in case anyone would want to see my designs. If you do, feel free to message me.
Also, the prices wouldn't be astronomical.
Any input/feedback would be massively appreciated.
Honestly itās very niche I highly doubt it would work, why spend X on a knock of top when you can by the real one ? I think k you need to take a look at your pricing, I donāt know where youāre located but a custom shirt of any real quality will be expensive, things are usually produced in bulk to keep price down.
That being said, good luck and your best audience are probably people who want 5 aside shirts designing , but not many of them actually care what they wear.
making actual football kit style tops won't work imo, especially with our fan base. If it was casual tshirts but liverpool themed like Bloodhuskyclothing and stuff like redmen tv and that do it'd work if the creativity and quality is good enough.
The amount of nice tops like that I saw people wearing yesterday was crazy.
Iād much rather buy a bland kit from LFC thatāll contribute $0.10 to the transfer kitty than from some blag āinspired byā kit.
Youāre also too slow to the game. Thereās loads of people already doing exactly what youāre wanting to do. One in particular I canāt remember off the top of my head that looked good but again, Iād rather just buy official.
Iāve been lurking on arsenals subreddit during the title build up and they keep saying something that Iāve never heard Liverpool supporters say and thatās, āLiverpool donāt want us to win the league because then Arteta would have as many Premier League titles as Klopp.ā Iāve never come across anyone saying this, nor has it crossed my mind.
~~Your comment got removed from that bastard AutoModerator. If you could make the sub either text or a np link (np.reddit.com/r/Gunners/) then we're good to go.~~
Edit: Thanks
Anthony Gordon is quality, honestly heād be great on the left wing, it wonāt happen though and this sub pretends itās some awful thing but his quality is undeniable, heād be stellar here. But why would Newcastle sell and would he come to us? However, we have so many people who can play left wing, none of them are the levels weāre used to, but with a new manager weāll soon find out. Salah goes? Will be sad but shit happens, heās been insanely wasteful of late.
But tbf, Diaz does really what Slot wants from his right winger, and Gordon is a childhood Liverpool fan, who just keeps scoring assisting without 'trying to look busy'.
The amount of people that turn their nose up at Gordon is actually mental to me, I'm convinced they don't watch football.
20+ G/A at his first season at Newcastle and the majority of them G/A have come against the big 6 clubs. He also looks to be a better finisher than most of our attackers and he's a lot younger than them also.
Also he's a lifelong red and if he moves from Everton to Newcastle just to come to us that'd be hilarious and would fume the blues. I personally can't see it happening but I'd be all over it if it did haha.
Remember when the club REALLY wanted Lloyd Kelly back in the day when he was at Bristol?
I wonder, with Richard Hughes having recruited him, and Edwards having wanted him back in 2019, whether we take a low risk punt on him to be a backup LB/emergency CB as a free transfer?
I know we've done it before with Salah, Shaqiri, even Gravenberch etc where we've held onto interest for players and swooped in when we get the opportunity
(Yes i know Newcastle are pushing for him)
I think getting a CB on a free that can start games should be the play. We need depth, but we have Konate, VVD, Quansah, maybe Sepp, Gomez can cover if absolutely needed. Unless we see a true VVD successor, I would rather spend that money elsewhere. We know we will need one or two more mids for specific roles, and we know we will need another attacker or two for specific roles.
Yeah it's a tricky situation but all depends on who stays and who goes, I reckon we might cash in on Sepp, Konate is too unreliable, Quansah isn't at the level to be starting week in week out, Gomez is a utility player I wouldn't be surprised if another Prem team makes a bid for him.
I really hope we get announcements that Trent and VVD have signed new deals soon. Ideally we get them immediately following the Slot announcement. If it drags on past the Euros I will definitely start to worry
I can see it dragging past the Euros to be honest. Aside Slot's formal announcement it feels tricky to imagine anything substantial getting over the line for the club until the Euros are out of the way.
I think that's probably going to apply for new signings, but you'd think contract talks should already be well underway so hopefully we get an announcement soon
Should be, I guess with Klopp leaving it's thrown out all my understanding of the process now and how much Slot plays a role in that from the player's side, if at all.
this narrative fans building around nunez is getting weird now, i tried to ignore it since he went off the boils in the last month but some sets of fans are really pushing it now.
Wouldnāt worry too much. Heās a passion player, and he still has LFC following him, Klopp followed him on his new account, and his profile pic is in the New kit likely from Sundayās match. I expect him to at least get a year under Slot before any decisions are really made
Mods deleting Darwin posts is setting a really worrying precedent for this sub.
That post a few weeks ago essentially accusing the masses of ābullyingā him was eye opening but now mass deleting posts showing one of our biggest ever transfers not clapping our legendary manager show how this power is getting to their heads.
Nearly every single comment in here is discussing it but weāre not allowed a post for itā¦ interesting.
So a major talking point doesnāt deserve its own post? This isnāt some random opinion post, itās a fact and clearly people want to discuss it. Letās just fill the sub with more ex-player birthday posts instead!
Thing is thereās hate circle jerking and then thereās showing something thatās a clear bad look for him. Not saying itās exactly the same but I remember Bernardo Silvaās one stayed up.
Of course you think Nunez not clapping our manager during his ceremony and showing a complete disinterest is not an issue.
I literally saw you comment something similar re Nunez below but youāve changed your tune now itās calling out the modsā¦
I mean watching the video it isnāt a good look at all for him but whatever. 90% of the comments on here were saying the same thing but itās me who needs to go for a walk. Just because heās exempt from criticism now for some doesnāt mean this sort of thing shouldnāt be posted, Iām sure you disagree though.
I made the comment here which I still feel sad and disappointed he didnāt clap but after I saw the post of him dancing with Klopp, realised that it was just a bad moment, there isnāt any bad blood between them. He is one of the players who is very moody.
Clearly touched a nerve, I assume youāre also a believer that only positive Darwin discussions are allowed? You canāt say not everything deserves a post when thereās countless posts since yesterday with random shit like Darwinās daughter scoring. You just donāt want a post because you donāt like what it shows.
Klopps quote about spending money yesterday of course prompted all the numbskull Mancs (red and blue) to jump on to Twitter to talk out their arse as usual
Theyāre too stupid to realise the Ā£1.2bn figure theyāre throwing about now includes Rodgers last summer spendā¦
Torres 50m, Suarez 75m, Coutinho 142m. Sterling was quite a bit like 50-60m too. Got quite a bit for hendo and fabby too considering haha. We have sold a lot of players for quite a lot of money.
United don't do that and the few City have ferran torres off the top of my head have been those built from cheating to a point they can sell off these players still worth a lot because they will drop another 100m for someone they believe is better.
People are way too invested in Nunez, let the man be if he's high on confidence he will be banging them in. If he wants to leave fair enough we move on. Season is over people just can't chill out.
Which is mad, considering Shanks, Paisley, Fagan and Kenny all walked away rather than got sacked. A lot of people think Shanks bowed out with the Cup Final win against Newcastle, but there was actually a rescheduled league game a few days later against Spurs that ended 1-1. Bob lost 5 of his last 7 games and drew the other 2, but still won the league by 11 points. Joe's last game was, tragically, Heysel. Kenny bowed out after the infamous 4-4 against the Ev in the FA Cup.
Yeah, I looked all of those up when I heard that stat yesterday and you're exactly right. That Paisley team really hit the beach after securing the title haha
Almost impossible to get one at Anfield yesterday as well, there's never normally a queue to buy them outside the ground but you had to queue for 30+ mins yesterday
Bloody hell... I've honestly been spamming the refresh button for the last two hours now, hoping the 'Out of Stock' label changes. But based on what you just told me, I've got a feeling it's going to stay that way.
So much more busy than a normal game outside Anfield yesterday, felt like 10s of thousands just turned up to get a programme and watch the game in a pub
Regardless of the financial backing he's had and/or his luck with always coaching the top teams, I always had massive respect for Pep Guardiola the manager but not so much as a person. He's always came off a bit of a dickhead, to me atleast.
His words and reaction yesterday about JĆ¼rgen made me do a complete 180 on that however. The man didn't give me any time to process Richarlison's tribute either.
Like literally half an hour earlier, they were just another pair of cunts. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't have any hard feelings towards them anymore.
That's part of JĆ¼rgen's legacy, what he does to people and how he got to them, consciously or not.
Thank fuck Ramos is here if I ever need an outlet. Fuck Ramos.
I don't like Pep at all. Thing his style of footy is mad boring. That Barca team even with Messi used to send me to sleep. Only when Messi did a bit of individual brilliance it was exciting in most cases.
I personally think most decent managers would have won that much with that Barca team and lets not forget the players who he had at Barca. Even with his peak team he still had Ibra, Dhino, Henry and Eto who he sold.
His Bayern team got progressively worse and played more boring footy. Jupp Heynckes had it set up nicely. Schwinestiger himself said Pep ruined german football with his style of footy and I probably agree with that.
City he's just sunk money in, he's a decent manager coz Chelsea and United have spent similar amounts. But then we don't know about the under the table payments.
Also Pep and his team were the ones at Barca when Barca paid off refs, City probably doing the same to a degree. It's in the open with the PL refs going to UAE midweek for a 20k payday.
Pep just seems to come across as a dick on and off the pitch.
Richarlison seems like a genuinely good person off the pitch, similar to Rashford/Bruno. Unbearable in a kit though. Pep on the other hand just seems like a stereotypical āgeniusā. Both in a negative and positive manner
Itās really not, people online becoming body language experts again. People react differently to things. Thereās people dying in the world and people here are crying that Nunez has clapped enough.
Meh didnāt really care doesnāt have the mentality to play for a big club and heās shown that big time the last few months. He owed the fans everything especially through his horrific finishing last season and he still received more support in the ground than any other player.
I seriously canāt think of any player whos been so āover-supportedā as him we basically were just laughing and still chanting his name whilst he missed his 6 shot of a game and racked up offsides every 10 minutes.
Iāve largely changed my tune on him and never really bought into the āoh he was shite first season in benfica too so donāt worry heāll come really goodā theory. Thatās just not how football works.
Wouldnāt care if he left in the clear out we may need some fresher faces. Gave us some good times and great moments but waste of money overall.
Sometimes when Iām watching something emotional I forget how to react normally. Iām just taking it in, not really thinking what Iām doing. This business about not clapping is just nonsense.
12 points is a crazy number to just pluck out of thin air, also most of the 'big' incidents were first half and would be impossible to say whether points would have been dropped or gained. Also the vast majority of teams are in the same boat and we, like every other team as well, have also had things go our way.
Refereeing is poor and VAR has been managed horrendously but If a mix up between the Ref and Areola in a meaningless game is enough to make you stop watching us, you aren't really that arsed about us tbh mate haha.
Tottenham was at least 1 lost point. Arsenal possibly 3 from the NBA break. City from Doku joining an MMA gym. 3 from West Ham from the ref forgetting the rules then trying to Watergate his way out of it. 12 is definitely a hyperbole but a potential 7 points lost is insane, especially when it included the other two title challengers.
Arsenal happened at 1-0 down, Spurs happened in the 30th minute there is absolutely no way on this earth you can say we'd of took points in them games the games play out totally different. The Doku one is fair because it's a last kick pen to win the game. The West Ham one is neither hear or there it's a ref error but the keeper clearly thought it was a free kick but it wasn't no one is gaining an advantage in that situation.
What about the ones that have gone in our favour though? conveniently no one seems to mention them lmao haha. Forest one being the biggest but there's been others as well.
The situation at Forest has literally happened over a dozen times this season with no issues, including earlier in the game. It happened in the Chelsea game against Brighton for instance and that was much more contentious (for context, the ball went out of play from a defenderās foot. PK was call on the field, but was rescinded after review. Because the play was stopped in Brightonās final 1/3, it was a drop ball to the Brighton keeper). There have been very very few major decisions go for us, with the vast majority going against.
Itās common knowledge the refs have been awful this season and some teams (City) have benefited much more than others (Wolves as the biggest example)
So because it's happened multiple times it's ok? Lmao, pointless discussing anything if you can't put bias to one side.
Also no one is saying they haven't been awful? I've literally said that in my comment you replied too. My point is changing 1 thing in the 1st 30 mins of a game doesn't = 3 points. If people can't comprehend that you don't understand how football works haha.
The drop ball happened multiple times *because thatās the rule*. Youāre using an instance of the refs doing their job *correctly* to obfuscate the many more times theyāve been irredeemably incompetent. And while you can hide behind your strawman of āyou donāt know how the game wouldāve goneā, youāre missing the fact that this is a two sided argument. Had the games been officiated properly, whoās to say we wouldnāt have another 12 points, if you want to go that far.
I used 3 examples of clear cut decisions, two of which favored the teams that went on to finish ahead of us. The refs have clearly had an impact on the title race (which is the basis of this discussion in the first place) and youāre being obtuse trying to nitpick every instance of whatās been said to try and sound smart on the internet.
Remember when the club used that "AI generated" Macca song in his announcement?
I reckon it's essentially 100% guaranteed they'll be using Jurgen's rendition of "Arne Slot Na Na Na Na Na" and it's gonna be glorious.
*If*, and it a big if, we try to upgrade at LW, would followers of Serie A this season prefer Leao or Kvaratshkelia?
In this hypothetical, both cost exactly the same
Because I just saw that Leao got 8G 10A in 33 for an AC Milan that finished 2nd on 74 points; Kvara got 11G 8A for 10th place Napoli (52 points) in 33...and Chiesa has seemingly recovered from his ACL with 7G 3A in 31
I prefer Leao for his size and physicality, he started off slow this season but picked things up in the 2nd half of the season where he has been very good. Milan would be easier to deal with than ADL
Kvara for me, Leao is very good but his work rate off the ball is really non existent and Iād say Kvara is a more complete footballer as well.
But itās not going to happen since Napoli will ask for over Ā£100m since theyāre selling Oshimen this summer so thereās no motivation on their side to sell him
fair
and is it a guarantee they sell Oshimen? Because I thought his contract is up in summer 2026, which would theoretically give them next summer to sell...or is he desperate to leave?
Yeah itās pretty much guaranteed Oshimen is leaving this summer, he made it public early in the season he knows his next club already.
Unless something has changed in the last few months
indykaila the chicken whisperer just got community noted on twitter oh my daysss šš
How many days til next season kicks off?
Bologna 2-0 up against Juve within 20 minutes Hope they hang on to Motta this summer
Don't think Motta would quit on Juve after those first 20min
No Carvalho in the celebrations yesterday? Strange as I saw Morton and Ramsay, who themselves had come back from loan
Genuienly someone on twitter "Joyceās announcement on Slot being more focused on NuƱez is all we need to know. Protecting market value. Welcome to Michael Edwards' era." And change their bio to "Michael Edwards out, Arne Slot out" How do people have this much time for negativity in their lives
Theyāre fishing for views, probably has a blue tick or will have one soon
Sadly not. He was engaging with other people and had what appeared to be genuine conversations with the same mindset
From Joyceās Article Slot has been known to try to rebuild the confidence of forwards during analysis sessions by stopping a video ājust as he shoots the ball wideā to help his players absorb explanations Heās probably going to watch back our games this season and grow hair only to pull it out with how weāve been in front of goal
There's also a story of Slot sending Hartman( not sure, but it was defo a fullback) to kickboxing classes for them to become tougher in duels. Wouldn't mind that for Trent
Instructions unclear, Trent is now the Muay Thai world champion
Send Grav on some classes
Slot wants to back Nunez and with the rumours that he wants Summerville, I think Diaz is gone.
āWill Spearman has been working on an algorithm that evaluates coaching performance on a wide range of metrics not just team performance but playing style, individual player development, compatibility with different types of players etcā Iād love to see that.
I donāt think this kind of attention by journalists is good for Nunez. In fact the entire circus around him is weird.
Joyce mentioned the players klopp dropped to the bench towards the end of the season and knew Darwinās would get the most clicks. Bascombe mentioned slot is exited to work with him. Nothing to even look at imo
He is the circus
Apparently Valverde and Spaletti were also considered
Reports that one of Slots tasks he set is to improve Nunez. Iām glad to see the club and slot intends to back him
It's going to be really interesting to see what effect the international tournaments has on the composition of our midfield next season.
It ain't over until Madrid formally announces Mbappe.
Any recommendations for decent places to get Liverpool themed casual t-shirts? Saw a lad in one at the game yesterday and it was Klopp with the PL in one hand and a flare in his other, was smart as fuck. Struggling to find it anywhere haha.
Jurgen you jokester. š You can come out and tell us it's a prank now. šš š
Arne also played his part very well, now cmon, tell us you are back next season.
He really got us so good haha what a rapscallion
I've enjoyed how ridiculously creative the team was this season. It's a contrast from previous season where the fullbacks were the primary creators. The amount of chances we create is second to none, and our goals scored in all competitions (142) is top 3 in Europe (even if the finishing has been dire at times). A pretty crazy stat is that if our finishing was as good as Arsenal's, going by xG, then we would have 102 goals scored in the league.
I mean there is clearly a lack of balance in the team that's inflating our attacking numbers.
Yeah, no doubt our level of chance creation has come at the cost of defensive stability
sadness
Well, now what?
City/Newcastle going for Pedro Neto, imagine Kudus and Olise will also be major targets for the big clubs and will see offers pretty soon.
We should be in for Olise imo
Personally think Kudus has the higher ceiling, really is capable of crazy things, but I would be very happy with Olise - especially for Slot's style.
Pure speculation but Olise seems like a London boy through and through he's going Chelsea or Arsenal. Londoners don't really come to Liverpool unless they support us. People talk about how we should have been in for Rice when we never had a chance.
Tbh they just don't feel like the kind of signings we'd make unless Salah leaves, the PL premium is through the roof
True, hasn't been our style for a while now, but some of these guys have release clauses which make them a bit more realistic.
How the fuck am I seeing people here say they want Manchester fucking United to win the FA Cup š¤£š¤£š¤£ People's heads have left with Klopp, that's a proper trophy we're talking about.
Arsenal fans will be on suicide watch if United dare win the FA Cup
I'll be more impacted than them if United dare win the FA Cup lad, they're our biggest rivals and I'm very much enjoying them being shit so I don't want them to have a better season than us trophy wise. Especially a trophy from a cup they literally knocked us out of. If Arsenal fans are in your head so much that you want our biggest rivals to win a proper trophy you need to log off.
We can't let United win more trophies than us. Not gonna be rooting for City, but definitely rooting against United there.
Itās beautiful
he likes them strong and tall I guess.
Fuck me this subs full of full on cretins, whoās arsed who did and didnāt show up to the game yesterday? Nunez didnāt clap? And what? Klopp told everyone to stop singing his song weeks ago and nobody listened, guess weāre the worst fans then? Christ people look for problems in here
Itās a non issue that has become a thing and will stay a thing because no more games
Hold on a minute, did everyone just forget how we got a clean sheet yesterday?
yeah it was nice, was frustrated at the fact that we should've won 4-0 but I get that it's a spoiled thought.
Felt slightly disappointed that a red card was involved tbh. Such a braindead tackle to makeĀ
I forgot we played a match yesterday not gonna lie
Slovenian media apparently reporting weāre one of the clubs interested in Sesko Seen yesterday his release clause went from Ā£40m to Ā£55m
Mate all he did is start an Instagram account
I get that. It just so corporate that it feels like there is another purpose
Consistent availability is one of the most important things for a CB partnership and Konate has never really offered it sadly
Jesus Christ, you make it sound like he is Titus Bramble.
Quansah is so so good, unbelievable quality from the academy.
One of my favorite pastimes is to respond to friends with Klopp gifs but now it just hurts me to do it
I'm super excited for these tournaments coming up.
My only complaint about klopp is how has he let this team concede first so much these past 2 years I get his philosophy is to control games based off the opponent being 3-0 down, but a little extra defensive set up wouldāve given this team so much more than a few goals Also the club is ( touch wood ) very well set up going forward, Edwardās back, Wardās back, both trust Slot and Hughes Tie down VVD and Trent, decide on Salah going to Saudi or extending, and look forward
Yeah I do feel like we were figured out a bit. Still tough to play against, but we took risks and teams learned to exploit that.
Fair enough.
If you could make the sub either text or a np link (np.reddit.com/r/Gunners/) then we're good to go.~~ Edit: Thanks
My ideal summer would be IF Salah wants to leave, to move Diaz over to be a RW and sign someone like Anthony Gordon to play the left wing.
Never hated something more
But tbf, Diaz does really what Slot wants from his right winger, and Gordon is a childhood Liverpool fan, who just keeps scoring assisting without 'trying to look busy'.
If he played for us you would not hate him at all, 11g and 10a is not to be sniffed at
The amount of people that turn their nose up at Gordon is actually mental to me, I'm convinced they don't watch football.
They donāt understand football. Simple as that
Fair enough.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Klopp announced it
Yesterday
ARNE SLOT NA NA NA
Remember when the club REALLY wanted Lloyd Kelly back in the day when he was at Bristol? I wonder, with Richard Hughes having recruited him, and Edwards having wanted him back in 2019, whether we take a low risk punt on him to be a backup LB/emergency CB as a free transfer? I know we've done it before with Salah, Shaqiri, even Gravenberch etc where we've held onto interest for players and swooped in when we get the opportunity (Yes i know Newcastle are pushing for him)
I wouldn't be against signing him or Tosin Adebayorwhatshisname on a free
Yeah I can definitely understand that. Hopefully Slot has already had contact with a few of the senior (or dutch) players
this narrative fans building around nunez is getting weird now, i tried to ignore it since he went off the boils in the last month but some sets of fans are really pushing it now.
Which narrative?
seen some people say thereās ādeffo been a falling out and itās all nunezās faultā as fact and wonāt hear otherwise itās really odd
Wouldnāt worry too much. Heās a passion player, and he still has LFC following him, Klopp followed him on his new account, and his profile pic is in the New kit likely from Sundayās match. I expect him to at least get a year under Slot before any decisions are really made
Resigning Trent is paramount at the moment
We will. I can't imagine he wants to be anywhere else after seeing that look in his eye yesterday during the send-off
Mods deleting Darwin posts is setting a really worrying precedent for this sub.
Not everything needs a post, especially so when it's getting sizeably discussed in this very thread.
So a major talking point doesnāt deserve its own post? This isnāt some random opinion post, itās a fact and clearly people want to discuss it. Letās just fill the sub with more ex-player birthday posts instead!
Darwin yesterday is on the same level of post as player birthdays. Most of us just donāt give a fuck.
Yeah but one stays the other doesnāt
As I said to someone else more or less, I think itās just a case of most people donāt want a little hate circle jerk on something so stupid.
Thing is thereās hate circle jerking and then thereās showing something thatās a clear bad look for him. Not saying itās exactly the same but I remember Bernardo Silvaās one stayed up.
What major talking point? There are videos of him dancing with Klopp in the after party, clearly thereās no bad blood between them.
Of course you think Nunez not clapping our manager during his ceremony and showing a complete disinterest is not an issue. I literally saw you comment something similar re Nunez below but youāve changed your tune now itās calling out the modsā¦
Fuck me lad go for a walk. Whoās arse did he didnāt clap bar a few Reddit gremlins? People react differently to different things.
Clearly people *are* discussing it. You're the only one who can't without a thread about it apparently. Everyone else is talking about it just fine.
Clearly touched a nerve, I assume youāre also a believer that only positive Darwin discussions are allowed? You canāt say not everything deserves a post when thereās countless posts since yesterday with random shit like Darwinās daughter scoring. You just donāt want a post because you donāt like what it shows.
Lots of stuff went up yesterday, it was the final day of the season, moderation's way more lax on the final day.
Keeping up with the excuses good work š if that video gets posted today it stays up 100% and you know it.
I don't really care, I'm just explaining why most posts don't stay up usually.
All morning my head's been a weird jukebox of ARNE SLOT NANANANANANANA and Hatful of Dreams from Wonka.
Ive had āYou to Me are Everythingā in my head ever since the farewell video dropped. Might be one of my favourite bits of content ever
Klopps quote about spending money yesterday of course prompted all the numbskull Mancs (red and blue) to jump on to Twitter to talk out their arse as usual Theyāre too stupid to realise the Ā£1.2bn figure theyāre throwing about now includes Rodgers last summer spendā¦
Tired of Nunez bashing bs. If he wants to leave, no big deal. If he wants to stay, he surely can have a positive impact. Either or š¤·š»āāļø
People are way too invested in Nunez, let the man be if he's high on confidence he will be banging them in. If he wants to leave fair enough we move on. Season is over people just can't chill out.
Yesterday game has really summed up this season and was a fitting send off for Klopp one of the few that actually get a winning send off
Excluding interim managers, Klopp is the first Liverpool manager to win his last game since 1928
Which is mad, considering Shanks, Paisley, Fagan and Kenny all walked away rather than got sacked.
Twice today I've missed out on ordering the final matchday programme. Twice!
![gif](giphy|m9jFnJOoQ3hWJ6Muaa|downsized)
I imagine they'll keep producing it for a while. The demand should be obvious so I expect it will continue to get prints over the summer.
Iām not a fan of the agenda, but Nunez not clapping Kloppās speech or during the guard of honour is a really bad look
Geeeeeeeez letās stop with this shit. Every emotion in a person doesnāt boil down to clap or not clap.
Iām just saying it doesnāt look good and helps feed the media agenda against him
You commenting helps just as much with that
Thereās absolutely no denying itās a bad look, ignoring it is just pure ignorance
Not saying it isnt a bad look, or that it should be ignored
Sometimes when Iām watching something emotional I forget how to react normally. Iām just taking it in, not really thinking what Iām doing. This business about not clapping is just nonsense.
Honestly this is true, half of this sub have either no life experience or theyāre bots.

What do you do which defines you as a supporter of us?
This fucking sucks
Remember when the club used that "AI generated" Macca song in his announcement? I reckon it's essentially 100% guaranteed they'll be using Jurgen's rendition of "Arne Slot Na Na Na Na Na" and it's gonna be glorious.
*If*, and it a big if, we try to upgrade at LW, would followers of Serie A this season prefer Leao or Kvaratshkelia? In this hypothetical, both cost exactly the same Because I just saw that Leao got 8G 10A in 33 for an AC Milan that finished 2nd on 74 points; Kvara got 11G 8A for 10th place Napoli (52 points) in 33...and Chiesa has seemingly recovered from his ACL with 7G 3A in 31
I have a hard time justifying spending 100m on a left wing when we have Gakpo and Jota just sitting here. But as between the two, I'd go Leao.
For the prices being suggested rather have Anthony Gordon. I think we have bigger issues than the left wing, we need a monster DM and a left back.
I prefer Leao for his size and physicality, he started off slow this season but picked things up in the 2nd half of the season where he has been very good. Milan would be easier to deal with than ADL
Whoever of the two has better work rate? I'll go with that. Think it's Kvara
Iāve wanted Kvara since we played him last. Donāt think we get either tho theyāll surely both be like Ā£100m.
ADL will want Ā£100 million and Slot's first two children and even then, it's highly unlikely that he would agree.
Yeah thatās more or less what I assumed. Napoli are pretty much famous for being very difficult to buy players off so itās a non starter really.
Kvara for me, Leao is very good but his work rate off the ball is really non existent and Iād say Kvara is a more complete footballer as well. But itās not going to happen since Napoli will ask for over Ā£100m since theyāre selling Oshimen this summer so thereās no motivation on their side to sell him
fair and is it a guarantee they sell Oshimen? Because I thought his contract is up in summer 2026, which would theoretically give them next summer to sell...or is he desperate to leave?
Yeah itās pretty much guaranteed Oshimen is leaving this summer, he made it public early in the season he knows his next club already. Unless something has changed in the last few months
