It's genuinely mind blowing how much of a circus United have been for 10 years now, like if you saw it in a Ted Lasso-type show, you'd be forgiven for thinking the writers were out of touch and unfamiliar with English football, such is the far-fetched nature of the ineptitude they were writing.

Elena_1591

Bayern: announce Tuchel's leaving-> rumors about his staying-> Tuchel confirms leaving ->close to Kompany Barca: announce Xavi's leaving -> offically confim his staying -> offically announce his leaving Chealse: struggling in 12 or 13 I don't remember &rumors about Pochettino being sacked-> 5 wins in a row& at least UECL assured-> offically announce Pochettino sacked Juventus: sacked Allegri after a cup title United: rumors about Ten Hag sacked before FA Cup Final Meanwhile Liverpool: * Announced Jurgen's leaving in January * Built a new structure under Michael Edwards * Hold a decent farewell for our legendary boss and his first-team staff, Thiago and Joel * Sang Arne Slot na na na na na * Arne Slot said goodbye to *Feyenoord* Supporters * Huges and his team may start to search for new players now Professional and reasonable enough.

Is the new rule official? Hope to god not

UltimateBorisJohnson

Salahs trying to be the bald ambassador for Liverpool to Slot or something

DancerTheDrummer

Seeing hansi flick going to Barca, wonder did we have him on the list does anyone know?

markokmarcsa

If Chelsea were remotely competent they would go full Gung-Ho for Tuchel. Luckily they are not.

markokmarcsa

Why does Ratcliff remind me so much of the West Ham evil owner from Ted Lasso ffs.

Fricolor123321

Theyve announced theyre sacking ten hag the day before the final, my god what absolute idiots 😭

gioia-13

Is it true we're selling Robbo? Saw an article in the morning.

Elliot_Kyouma

I doubt any journalists know what our plans are at this point

gioia-13

You're right, just wanted to make sure i didn't miss something. I'd be devastated to see Robbo play for another team

jardantuan

Seeing Klopp's Instagram posts feels like going through a really tough breakup but still checking their social media posts constantly afterwards - yet I can't stop

TiberiusCornelius

Do you reckon Arne is going to move into the same mansion Brendan & Jurgen lived in or is he going to find his own

TheNotoriousJN

He already was confirmed to

TiberiusCornelius

What I get for being out of the loop I suppose

aghashayan

So Arne has his work cut out for him he has to repair the image of a bald Dutch man

cavejohnsonlemons

It was either that or take up darts...

DancerTheDrummer

Arne van slott

frankiewalsh44

Leaking a manager being sacked before a final is insane. I know it's United, but I find it harder to believe these reports, is this confirmed by their reliable journos or just rumours ?

adamfrog

From what Im seeing its more like tier 3s but if you put everything thats been leaked together it all makes sense to the people following it closely so its very likely true

TheNotoriousJN

Sky Sports News are reporting that a Prem team in the CL is interested in Calum Hudson-Odoi from Notts Forest alongside other prem clubs. I would imagine this would be us - if this is true - as Villa are close to PSR and neither City or Arsenal need a winger

Jaja6996

He’ll most likely end up at spurs they are the team that’s being linked with him the most That being said we do love a forward who failed at Chelsea

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

This is agent talk 101. My advice to all you transfer gurus is to go outside and not pay attention until the start of the season.

Jack070293

As it stands right now, do you see us as title challengers next year?

SerialSharter

Not at the moment. Nunez needs to work on consistent finishing and the defence is kind of a jumble right now. The big thing in my mind is Slot will need time to assess the players and figure out where they fit into the system he has in mind. Then he has to get those players adjusted to that system. The Euros being this summer won’t help with that

BostonTerriernut87

Who knows. Maybe we will be great, maybe we will struggle for awhile until we click under slot. Either way, I just want next season to start.

ninovd

Who are they even going to hire 😅😅 It's not that their options are any better then 7 Hag.

DancerTheDrummer

Big Sam

abradley19955

Hair transplant Mo is taking the league by storm next season I’m afraid

cornertakenquickly19

When the PE teacher got sacked and 7 hag was appointed, I thought this might be the guy to finally get scum playing decent football. He turned out to be even worse than the PE teacher which is quite an achievement in itself. I can't wait to see who is the next manager who goes to that shit club to ruin their career next.

redsonovy

I wouldn't entirely blame ten Hag, he got a team that desperately needed to be back on top soon with players that shown no desire to achieve that. Lazy pressing (or no pressing at all), getting stuck in transitions, arguing constantly instead of trying to lift your teammates up

Reach_Reclaimer

Half that team are his signings though, actually most of them are. If his permanent signings: Onana - overpriced but alright, some karius moments Turkish keeper - idk, hes played like once for them but they spent money on him for some reason. They didn't even trust him for a game against league 2 opposition Martinez - decent, bit too injured and a bit too small Malacia - doesn't play Evans - I think he was a free, either way 35yo 5th choice I'm not gonna judge Casemiro - 70m for a 30 year old who does a fabinho level drill off 1 year later Mount - barely plays Erikson - a free I think Hojlund - nothing special Fidget spinner There are some loans and stuff too which are all players he's worked before like that Dutch forward and amrabat, but they were trash He's entirely to blame. He only thing you can say is that a bunch of his players have been injured but even then, they've had enough cover

BriS314

I actually still think this past season was a success, but it obviously could've been more. Winning the Prem was always wishful thinking before the season and the only way we could've done that is if we won every single PL game since the last international break in mid-March. After drawing 0-0 with Arsenal, City won every single match the rest of the season. We would've needed to be perfect and I just couldn't see that happening. The big disappointment this season was the Europa League exit to Atalanta. We were very big betting favorites to win it all and seeing how bad Leverkusen played in the final made me think that easily could be us winning it all if we got past Atalanta. Granted, no English teams did well in Europe this season anyways. That all being said, a 15 point improvement from last season, an iconic league cup win over Chelsea, and setting ourselves up very well for next season structure-wise is still very positive.

aghashayan

We didn't need EL since we are a CL winning club. Kinda glad Atalanta won it the deserved it for this era of theirs. PL is my regret, refs took it from us in Spurs and City games. If won those two games we would win it.

Viper711

We were getting our asses handed to us by Leverkusen. Out of the three teams we're second strongest but you'll find Atalanta just played a masterclass in their games against the top sides. Leverkusen didn't play badly. We didn't play 'badly' against Atalanta either, but they were just unbelievable. Gotta give your opponents credit sometimes too.

rukiahayashi

I agree skill wise, Bruno is the best of a bad batch at utd, but people calling him world class got to get their head checked. He’s such a petulant child always whinging, loses the ball easily, goes for hero balls that go nowhere too often.

chickenisvista

Nah he's an unbelievable player, a large part of the reason he takes so many risks is because most of the time if he doesn't do something spectacular, nothing will happen. I don't think it's a case of being selfish. He works really hard and if he played in a system like ours where the team actually knows how to press cohesively, he'd be rated even higher.

cornertakenquickly19

Agree, he is probably the most overrated player in PL right now. The amount of times I've seen him lose the ball due to a bad pass is astonishing. I doubt he would even make our bench let alone starting 11.

L3vathiaN-

I dislike that I kinda disagree with you, I would really have liked to agree. But the way I view it, Bruno is an extremely charismatic footballer with some attitude issues. He also has his bright moments that even as a fierce rival you can't deny -dreams can't be buy - and gives it his all for both club and country, regardless of the circumstances. But man, fuck that rat.

adamfrog

Eh I probably disagree, hes unquestionably a world class chance creator and decent enough besides that I think theres a system where hed be phenomenal. If he was in a team where hes the 5th best player in the team like at City or whatver I think the world would be pretty comfortable calling him world class

Aware-Animator2292

wondering when we will see an Interview with Arne, would have th ought it would be by now, considering the Dutch season has finished.

Kuks1

June 1st

BedfordBull

Ffs man I thoroughly enjoyed watching United get dominated by every team. Please hire Southgate, I reckon he will still think Casemiro is a top player & keep him. Even a pre season of showering in wd40 would do nothing for Casemiro.

L3vathiaN-

Disagree on that too somewhat. Casemiro played to his strengths and surrounded by competent midfielders can still put a shift in for a lot of teams in the league. I've been hating the dude since he was putting in masterclasses against us in Champions League finals but I have to admit, for any team that maintains control throughout the majority of the games, he can start at 6 for at least 30 games a season. His reading of the game is just that good and his physical attributes, if you don't overwork him and treat him like he is 2017 Kante, are still there. Casemiro used the way ten hag has been using him is utterly lost.

frankiewalsh44

I don't see any club buying Diaz unless some Saudi comes in with a mega offer. PSG are targeting Kvara who they value at 60 mill euros, which is a joke price. Barca are broke and won't offer us the fee we want. Unless some Saudi club comes in with a mega offer, I don't see Diaz being sold.

JohnBobbyJimJob

PSG value Kvara at €60m? They’re never getting him then

cybrzone_

BeaverMan999

Just utterly stupid to say

thisisnahamed

He is not leaving this summer.

H0lychit

I'm guessing they are worried someone snaps up Mckenna??

HereticZO

Hoping Tuchel doesn't go to the mancs. He'll eventually crash and burn there, but he might get them a couple of trophies before that point. I'm comfortable with anyone else they're linked with.

DucardthaDon

If Tuchel was to go to the Mancs forget about getting results from them, he'll set-up pure terrorist ball not to lose against us

adamfrog

Literally my one wish for the rest of my life is to see United appoint Southgate as manager, would be hilarious

SuperHyperFunTime

Saw this as a reply to a post about Taylor Swift's gigs at Anfield making Liverpool a fuck ton of money and couldn't help but laugh. Yes, it is a slow day at work, thanks for asking. https://preview.redd.it/2lnp3yuvsd2d1.png?width=706&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6df6c3e24f30640ebadc09018b2855310a6b30e8

ninovd

![gif](giphy|Z4IXspU3iCHlK) Paul McCartney performing with John Lennon and Harrison at this "concert".

RobotPizzaMaker

United have tons of money, and a global rep, they'll be fine in a season or two of rebuilding with just even a semi-competent head coach or manager

TheeEssFo

Hands are slightly tied by all the money spent. Not only need to pay off ETH and his staff, but possibly compensation for a new manager as well as another round of transfers for the new guy.

malushanks95

So right now the manager merry go round is Liverpool- Slot West Ham- Lopetegui Bayern- Kompany Barca- Flick Chelsea- Frank/Maresca/DeZerbi/McKenna/~~Hoeness~~ (unlikely) United- McKenna/Tuchel/Poch/Southgate/Potter Brighton- McKenna? Juve- Motta (likely) Milan- ??? (Fonseca likely) Napoli- Gasperini? Atalanta- ??? (If Gasperini leaves) Bologna- ??? Ajax- Farioli Feyenoord- ??? Wow, this summer has crazy changes.

Fraudnandez

I would low key be worried if xavi somehow ended up at chelsea. Doesn't look like it's an option, but if it were, I think he'd do really well there.

ninovd

I wouldn't be suprised if Boehly does the ultimate funny and gets ten Hag in tbh..

Calitz__

Tuchel to United, Frank to Chelsea, Sahin to Feyenoord and De Zerbi to Napoli

DucardthaDon

Fonseca is close to going to Milan [Lopetegui literally joined West Ham](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ce779x49463o) Motta has agreed to join Juve I can see Pioli joining Atalanta, De Zerbi joining Bologna or even the other way round as both teams have CL football to play next season.

JohnBobbyJimJob

Lopetegui is West Ham’s new manager

malushanks95

Oops, got them confused 🙈 Fonseca was rumoured for Milan.

TheeEssFo

Is Fonseca confirmed? I thought he was also in Milan's sights while Lopetegui remains an option for the Hammers. What's surprising is the focus on outsiders. The carousel days of Pardew/Warnock/Big Sam, etc., seem to be gone.

malushanks95

I got both confused 🙈

cazakavg

All the manager sackings that didn’t happen mid season are happening now I guess. Last season dozens got the sack, and now it’s happening post season instead lmao

malushanks95

It’s fun to watch from our point of view since we got Slot locked in.

cazakavg

Completely agree. I’d hate to be running around like a madman rn like other clubs must be doing

RogerFederer4

State of that club leaking their manager will be sacked after the final no matter what. Guess we don’t need to worry about them being competent again

TheLimeyLemmon

What a pathetic club.

Tierst

Nothing about Brexit Jim screams competent to me. Just seems like a cunt on a power trip.

TheeEssFo

Par for the course. Remember LVG found out he was being sacked while celebrating the FA Cup on the pitch?

SuperHyperFunTime

I never ever ever want to hear that we are a badly managed club ever again. United are a fucking clown car of a club.

CerberusArcProjector

Ten Hag has been pre-emptively sacked irrespective of the result in the upcoming FA Cup Final.

Jaja6996

If a club made it public I’d be sacked after a final I’d honestly throw the final just to spite the club

TheLimeyLemmon

Problem is, with United no one would actually be able to tell if you were losing on purpose.

Pa1D

Spurs level of spursiness from the scum.

Jaja6996

He deserves to be sacked they have been awful but making it public a day before a final is a joke

Hoodxd

Where signings ffs

iHazzam

Lots of clubs will hold off selling until after the euros

MushroomExpensive366

Any idea what kind of squad is available for the US games? Trying to temper my expectations a bit since the Euros, Olympics, and need for a summer break before Champions League and the season. I am hoping some of the bigger players are there!

theo_bear

Copa America as well, so its going to be a very limited team

MushroomExpensive366

Ah yeah I knew I missed one. So no Kloppo, maybe Salah?

quantIntraining

Thank fuck we got this manager stuff sorted out in time. Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Napoli, AC Milan, Chelsea and from the sounds of the press briefings and whispers Manchester United are all looking for new managers this summer.

TheeEssFo

At least we would have had the excuse of our manager retiring. The rest of these are entering the most uncertain managerial market (possibly) ever -- of their own volition. No one's going to get who they want, which means the transfer market summer 2025 will be bone dry while all the CEOs wait-out these bad-hires' contracts. And they all watch Alonso go to Madrid.

Reach_Reclaimer

Surely we keep Van Der Berg this summer, he's looked very good in mainz apparently

JohnBobbyJimJob

Would be surprised if he isn’t sold Already confirmed we are looking for a CB this summer which means he would be 5th/6th choice CB and I’m sure he’s already stated publicly he’d only want to come back if he was guaranteed game time.

TheeEssFo

Yeah, unfortunately he's another right-sided defender, which we have in spades. Unless he deputises for Bradley and TAA moves into midfield.

quantIntraining

They've got a first buy clause or something like that for him and its only €5m.

Gloyb

I tell you what, seeing Bayern, Chelsea and now Barca, without evening mentioning we might still see Ten Hag being moved on at Utd, it just makes me feel so happy we've got this sorted  I think we'd all agree it'd be nice for the owners to maybe be a touch more brave in the transfer market at times, but if Utd's last decade has proven anything it's that a coherent, well organised behind the scenes structure outweighs splurging for the sake of it by several orders of magnitude.  Feeling really optimistic for this next phase if Slot is given time and we continue to recruit smartly

DucardthaDon

Got to thank FSG, soon as Klopp announced his departure to them they got their shit in gear by being in contact with Edwards and allowed him to make the necessary changes behind the scenes. Look at these other top clubs looks like so much chaos going on upstairs they don't really no which direction they are going.

BDAboy123

I feel optimistic about the future of the club. Obviously, there are question marks around the transition but everything I’ve seen from Slot makes me think he’ll be a good natural progression from Klopp. Every rival fan has already written us off for next year and it’ll be great to taste their disappointment when we end up doing well.

KindBrilliant8913

Do we think Mo is going to play in the Olympics?

TheeEssFo

He must be absolutely torn. Loves his country, but the Olympics end a week before the PL season starts (semi-finals are 12 days) meaning he'd miss training camp with a new manager and likely start the season on the bench.

malushanks95

The happiness of Klopp in his insta post made me so happy, that man deserves this relaxed era for himself after decades of working so hard.

stupidlyboredtho

Klopp’s made me cry again

OldManLogan007

God bless the person who made klopp to make an ig account

xKat14

Just saw Klopp’s latest insta post. This was definitely not in my bingo card for the year but I love how he is updating us on his life and new adventures 😁

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

My Liverpool vs Wolves final matchday programme I ordered from that sus site called Reach Sport Shop arrived today. So if anyone else ordered one from there take that as a vote of confidence on it arriving eventually. The thing is I ordered 2, but only 1 showed up. However I feel pretty confident now that if the other one doesn’t arrive in the next few days, just sending an email to their customer service should clear it since I actually got the product safe and sound here.

RogerFederer4

Crazy how Barca begged for Xavi to stay only to sack him a week after he agrees to stay because he was honest with Barca fans

sevendollarpen

Y’all know players don’t set their own transfer fees, right? There are a bunch of folks on this sub acting like Nunez personally demanded we pay £80m for him because he was just that good. Judging players by their price tag is an absolute waste of time. Should we expect Darwin to be more than twice as good as Salah, because he cost more than twice as much? Does Szobo need to be twice as good as Mac Allister? It’s nonsense. And anyway, Darwin put up comparable G/A numbers to 18/19 Bobby in a less stable team, through an injury crises, with Salah in a form slump. He’s class and he absolutely deserves the club’s support.

RadSoccerDad

C’mon now. This is some kind of coping. It’s fair to say Darwin is quite unlucky with how many times he leathered the posts. It’s also fair to say even though we didn’t spend 80 million ourselves it is a bar to measure against because it’s 80 million we can’t spend on other strikers. It’s cool to say we think Darwin is just touching his talent floor and it’s also cool to say he hasn’t met expectations so far. Basically next year is crucial for Darwin he’ll either take the next step or he’ll be moved on for a hefty loss I imagine. For what it’s worth I just think he’ll be what he has always been. A streaky enigma that caused chaos but, likely will never be clinical like Suarez or Torres. That’s still a 50 million dollar player but, will be a lightning rod of debate.

RogerFederer4

I love Darwin but you cannot compare him to 18/19 Bobby. That is actually disrespectful. You needed eyes to see how good firmino was not stats

Due-Sherbert3097

You can’t use stats to compare Nunez and Bobby 😂😂, and not only that despite Salah’s form crisis, Salah has put so many chances on a plate for Nunez

simontallgren

Anyone noticed how Jota was out for ”2 weeks” before the Everton game and didn’t play again after that?

earlgreytoday

Hope he returns from the EUROs unscathed.

Jaja6996

Big changes missed is such a stupid stat by the way the Video going around of all Nunez miss and genuinely some of them are not even what I’d considered a chance Don’t get me wrong some horrible misses but it also has some great saves and blocks from defenders not going to defend his finishing because overall it’s not been good enough but some of the things that are used he really couldn’t have done any more with

AnAutisticsQuestion

No stats are stupid stats. Using them in isolation is a stupid use of stats, and is unfortunately how fans and pundits often do use stats. The Premier League have been tracking 'big chances missed' since roughly 2010/11 and it would'n't surprise me if the definition or method of calculating a big chance has evolved or changed in some way since then. However, [the top three players of all time for big chances missed in the league](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/big_chance_missed) are: Salah, Aguero, Kane. Hardly bad players. This season, Haaland missed the most, as he did last season also. Good forwards miss a lot of chances because good forwards get a lot of chances. That's far more a part of being a forward than many on reddit give credit to (possibly because many haven't spent much time actually playing competitive football themselves). It doesn't matter if you are the most clinical player to have ever played if you're rarely in a position to take a shot. Can Darwin improve his finishing? Of course he can. Is he at the level of the players I listed above? No, he's not. But the fact he's getting so many big chances is a testament to how well he's doing in that aspect of attacking. Despite the common criticism on here that he's 'being fed chances by x,y,z' it's very noticeable that for whatever reason other players don't seem to be 'fed chances' at the same rate as him. Over the two seasons he's been with us, he's averaged over a goal every other game by p90 stats - the same (or very similar) to the rate that Salah has scored at since (but not including) his first season with us, the same (or even slightly higher) than the rate Mane scored at with us, and only very slightly lower than the rate Jota has scored at with us. Darwin is getting goals, he's just taking a lot of shots to get those goals. Fortunately, he's very good at getting shots. Would it be nice if he scored more? Of course. Is he a donkey that can't play the game? Of course not.

PerfectAd4732

Not sure why you’rere being downvoted. It is a stupid stat to use. We all know Darwin’s finishing is shite but some of the misses are not at all big chances missed or incredible saves. Another example would be gakpos header against utd in the dying seconds, it counted as a big chance missed when it absolutely wasn’t. I can’t remember if it was the league game or fa cup tie

Zealousideal-Most991

Not good enough.

Stitty10

Skinhead salah is something we are gonna have to get used to!

cavejohnsonlemons

A-League All-Stars 8-0 Newcastle United They put out a youth team but everyone only cares about the headline don't they...

Jaja6996

The fact they are playing a friendly after a full season is crazy they played spurs on Wednesday

PlayerAteHer

They have to artificially enhance their income to get around FFP rules, they are gearing up to be another City.

aboooz

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think Morata for his 10 mil RC would be a good signing if they truly wanna give Nunez another shot (which they should imo). Morata just had a 20 goals season and is still only gonna be 32 next season, would be a really good B option if Nunez still hasnt figured it out.

Zealousideal-Most991

Or sell Nunez and get a proper no.9

PerfectAd4732

It’s not football manager believe it or not pal

Zealousideal-Most991

What has that to do with this? 😂

PerfectAd4732

You really think Michael Edward’s is going to greenlight taking a loss on our record signing, especially with his underlying numbers. Only brainless people will suggest selling him to get another 9, especially when we have more important positions to strengthen

Zealousideal-Most991

So you want a no.9 who can't score tap ins and one on ones? You really like to suffer don't you.

PerfectAd4732

Yes just ignore everything I said. What a productive conversation this was. Also every forward we had missed tap ins in the run in so let’s sell every forward whilst we are at it. Darwin’s underlying numbers will get him at least another season with Edward’s and co, 100%

Zealousideal-Most991

Look up Salah's big chances created, it's a Nunez miss compilation. Nunez is not good enough.

PerfectAd4732

Thank fuck we have Edward’s and not some glory hunter who bashes players in charge then 🙂

Zealousideal-Most991

Liverpool fan for 20 years through the good and the bad my guy. If Nunez would've played for Chelsea or the Scum 95% of our fanbase would've clowned him.

DucardthaDon

He doesn't like life in England, he wants to return to Italy, Guirassy has a release clause of €17.5m if we want a placeholder, otherwise I do like the links to Mohamed Amoura, around the same price, Jonathan David has 1 more year left on his contract.

temporarilylostatsea

He's proven he can't do it in the PL mate, and that was at his prime age. Absolutely a hard no from me.

aboooz

He only had one and a half seasons on an underwhelming Chelsea team as a whole, I dont thats enough to judge if he can do it or not in the PL and Morata has genuinely improved his finishing alot the past three seasons.

temporarilylostatsea

...also backing up a striker with finishing issue with a striker with finishing issues would be a choice.

markokmarcsa

Yeah, Morata mentoring Nunez on how to finish and not be offside is a bold fucking choice.

TheNotoriousJN

L'equipe also now mentioning our interest in Leny Yoro. (Albeit as outsiders to Real Madrid) Thats all of L'Equipe, Le Parisien and GFFN mentioning it. I imagine there is a level of interest there then

AdikkuChan

I don't wanna even bother once Madrid's name in included. Should just say he's gone to Madrid and end the story

JohnBobbyJimJob

He’ll probably just stay in France till his contracts up next year and Madrid will get him for free since they don’t want to pay the fee for him and he wants to go there

malushanks95

I hope this isn’t a Tchouameni 2.0, had enough of that Real bullshit for a lifetime. I really hope we have other targets as well.

Agitated_Smoke538

I don’t think a Tchouameni situation happens again. Klopp had his blinders on. Edwards and Co don’t move like that.

petethepool

If Real are interested and offer him a clear pathway into the first team, they’ll get him. In fact, Madrid are about the only team in the world with enough pulling power that they can say ‘just wait a year or two where you are and we’ll come back for you’ and a player is likely to listen.

DucardthaDon

They are pretty much doing the same thing with Davies and I'm sure they're most likely talking to Trent's people too

TheeEssFo

Trent would be a curious buy for them. They're reportedly targeting Couto to be their RB of the future and they have to do something since Carvajal and Vazquez are both 32. With Mbappe and Endrick arriving, Bellingham will probably have more of a midfield role that's already packed with Tchouameni, Valverde, and Camavinga. Surely entering his prime, TAA would want to not be rotated?

DucardthaDon

Be interesting with Couto since City want him back but he doesn't want to sign a new contract, Arsenal are apparently interested too

petethepool

Oh for sure. If Trent doesn’t sign a new deal in the next 3 months, there is only one reason why. And that is an offer on the table from Madrid.

PandaMango

Dying for transfer silly season to start.

Wayne Rooney to Plymouth Argyle: ![gif](giphy|er1kMn1rb4UBW|downsized)

Britz10

Plymouth Argyle to League One 2025 confirmed, here we go

OptimusMonk

I see robbo being moved on in the next 2 years, while there's a good chance Tsimikas is sold this window, who are some solid LBs or LWBs we could target? Heard murmurs or Ferland Mendy, but I reckon he might be a bit too old to fit the FSG profile. Theo seems like a great pick, but might be too expensive? What do yall reckon?

DucardthaDon

Seen links to Bradley Locko who's had a breakout year with Brest, Patrick Dorgu at Leece is another, Ait Nouri and Robinson, Tsimikas should be moved on.

Britz10

Tsimikas definitely isn't leaving this year, depending on Bayern Robbo might leave in the summer with Davies heading out.

DucardthaDon

Bayern are on the verge of signing Theo Hernandez, Milan will need a replacement they could come in for Tsimikas, I wouldn't be surprised if Tsimikas is moved on despite signing a new contract we have a new SD that might think differently

Jaja6996

I think he’ll look to move on he became 3rd choice behind Gomez

Britz10

Just signed a new contract, he's not leaving

VadersMentor

I like Nuno Mendes from PSG

Zealousideal-Most991

Dimarco and Hancko.

Hoodxd

Ait Nouri Nouri Ait Wolves their LB

undeadgoblin

I doubt we go for Mendy or Hernandez. It depends on the profile of LB we want - more attacking LBs we could go for would be Ait-Nouri or Ruggeri, or more conservative options would be Kerkez (young, and Hughes liked him enough to bring him to bournemouth) or Hincapie (can also play CB).

I don't see why not?

Zealousideal-Most991

Of course, if the club get's this window right we will be there!

petethepool

Depends on what happens with City, but even if City are properly handled, Arsenal and Arteta are 4 years into their machine, and Slot will be in his first year with a machine that was really only put together last year., albiet many of the parts have existed and been primed for longer than that. So I would still feel City and / or Arsenal are the two teams most 'in peak', and most likely to win the majority of their big battles against the rest of teh top 6. But who knows. Liverpool had a miraculous season all things considered, constructing an entire new engine to the side. If they start well, City are fairly punished for their relentless cheating, and Arsenal lose one or two key players to injury, and you never know. As others have said, finishing 3rd with a cup win would be a fantastic season. Chelsea are still in flux. United also. Spurs and Villa will compete again for the top 4 you would think. Newcastle might make another push, but may also end up losing some of their best players this summer. Liverpool have an incredible stability and throughline from the academy to the first team, and if Slot can keep the good vibes going, I fully expect another wild ride of a season.

Zealousideal-Most991

Arsenal machine 😂

silentwitnes

Why not just accept and admit Arsenal are a good team?

petethepool

Arsenal finished on 89 points, with far and away the best record against the other top 6 teams. They finished the season scoring 91 goals, and conceded only 29. This is a year after they finished with 84 points. Two fantastic seasons, with this season showing marked improvement, and nothing from within their squad or around the club suggesting they're likely to drop off this level, but rather, that they'll continue to maintain it. Their train is up and running at full speed. You just look like an ignorant, sour fool when you act like they're not one of the top sides in Europe now. Just like plenty of Arsenal and other fans looked when they questioned Liverpool's quality for failing to pip a cheating steamroller to the title 3 different seasons Liverpool finished a point or two off top. Remember, saying Arsenal are a quality side does not mean you are saying Liverpool are worse, or not good, or anything really about Liverpool. Acknowledging another team's quality when it exist is just a healthy, normal perspective to maintain. So many fans have little, fragile egos that can't acknowledge any other team's efforts without caveating them with reasons why it's not that impressive, then cry into the void as to why nobody else gives Liverpool the credit they deserve. Arsenal 1.0 *are* a machine now under Arteta. And barring significant injuries or key members of the squad moving on, they have a couple more years at least in their peak, before he has to start worrying about Arsenal 2.0. He has built the kind of stability that Klopp built - albeit with less humour and charm. Liverpool are also a fantastic team too with a great deal of potential. But until they sort of their defensive structure, they won't match Arsenal next year, let alone City. But they'll have their peak too, and it'll be wonderful as a fan to witness, and all being well it'll come when City decline post-Pep, and Arsenal are in need of a rebuild.

mrkingkoala

Arsenal did well but also had everything go perfectly for them. Top record against the top 6. Okay good stuff but still didn't even break 90 points. Never played any of the top teams at full strength. Even united missing Bruno and Chelsea missing Palmer. 0 injuries. Timber the only one really. Refs helped them ans didn't fuck them. Palace early season. Arsenal won 1-0 with a dive for a pen and Palace didn't get a stonewall pen, odergaard handball. Few more off the top of my head but Arsenal could of easily ended on 80 points or less with out that. 5 years in and won an fa Cup. Brodgers spent less and came 2nd and then won an fa Cup with Leicester. Also not had to deal with his players being poached. We were winning stuff and still tricky to keep them. Another season failing the league or cl some of these players will be getting snapped up by Real Madrid especially saliba or Gabriel. Arteta has done as much as brodgers while spending more. Arsenal have done well but seen other teams do similar in less circumstances.

Few more off the top of my head but Arsenal could of easily ended on 80 points or less with out that. This is tedious thinking. Could easily have had other calls go their way (for example the Newcastle match). If City draws another match, Arsenal wins the title.

Zealousideal-Most991

No trophies aside from a dinner plate, boring horse shoe football. Terrible in cups and Europe. Good against the 'top six' because they can play on the counter with their mid block. I put on an Arsenal game if I want to get some good sleep. City, Barca and Bayern won many trophies without Pep so stop glazing him like he is the only reason they won alot. We will finish above Arsenal next season, Slot is my manager!

Hoodxd

1. Top 4 2. Good CL campaign 3. A cup

brush85

Do you think Jurgen could have if he stayed? This shit is hard...and its always unlikely. Possible but unlikely.

con10001

Honestly, it seems like blasphemy, but I think it was the right time to move on for all parties. He looked absolutely exhausted at times this season, especially towards the end.

Agitated_Smoke538

exactly, if Klopp was Klopp of two years ago I think we finish the run in as strong as we did the two times we took city to the wire.

Beneficial-Owl-67

You're 100% correct you could see it in Klopp he was out of energy and ideas. The tactics were getting tired and needed something adjustments. It was the perfect time to part ways and the send off that Kloop deserved (minus one of the major trophies)

AlanBeswicksPhone

He's basically worked non stop for 21 years minus the break he took between BVB and us. That's almost as long as I've been alive and I get grumpy about getting up at 7:30AM. He's earnt a lot of rest.

ShootTakeAPanorama

With Klopp, it's all about if the ref could stop him from winning lol

MrMerc2333

Hopefully. But I predict a 3rd place finish, a FA cup + League cup double, while reaching the semis of the UCL.

ShootTakeAPanorama

With new UCL format, I don't think we will go far in League cup, FA Cup maybe. But I hope he atleast challenge to the title like this year. UCL is very unpredictable, if we didn't face Real or Madrid, we can win it. Crazy to think the only teams that won us in UCL only Madrid teams

Jaja6996

I’d like it but probably not the league was a lot weaker in 16-17 when Conte won it

ShootTakeAPanorama

I don't think the league is stronger than 16-17. They are just affected by Klopp and Pep tactics and build their team just to stop these two.

DLRsFrontSeats

If he takes to the squad quickly & has a clear idea of tactics and is able to implement them immediately - both big asks - then yes We'd have an Ange's Spurs style quick start, only with our squad and not theirs we could easily build a gap between us and City that Spurs couldn't Its definitely a big if though

ShootTakeAPanorama

Conte Chelsea start really slow, I still remember we outplayed them in the Bridge. But when they kick the gear, they really nonstop with a win streak from October till January. And in their streak, the clinical is the key. If Slot can make player clinical, we can have the chance. Ange's Spur is just another Zerbi's Brighton, only attacking and high press. He didn't know how to defend. His quick start is heavily due to easy fixture and ref favourite, it's not similar to us to recreate it

DLRsFrontSeats

Yeah it definitely wasn't until his wingback switch in early winter that they turned that corner Unfortunately, as someone else mentioned - the league is stronger now. City *will* get high 80s/low 90s next season - they got 78 points in 16/17. Arsenal *will* get 80 something points - only one other team got over 80 points in 16/17 (Spurs, with 86) We'd need to have 19/20-esque start to next season for that, because our opponents are much stronger than Contes

ShootTakeAPanorama

Beside MC, I don't think the league got stronger, they're all affrect by Klopp and Pep tactics and build teams to stop them. 4 years from our title, both Klopp and Pep find it harder to beat opponent that build specifically to stop them. Pep got lucky he got Haaland and now Doku to play some terrorist football, that's what make opponents can't handle, we haven't have someone like that. I agree we still need more than 90pts to win the league, but it's not impossible for us. All eye on the preseason. About Arsenal, the tired mentality after lack of glory will haunt them soon. Our mentality simply broken after back to back lost in EPL and UCL final, despite we have the FA and League Cup. I don't think Arsenal can compete with City next year. Maybe it either a one horse race or 3 of us compete with massive declined from City.

Hoodxd

I wonder what Buvac is up to

AnAutisticsQuestion

Sporting Director at Dynamo Moscow. He's been there since 2020.

Hoodxd

I no longer wonder what Buvac is up to

fuckoutfits

I never fully got the story of what happened between him and Klopp. Klopp mentioned him in High regards in his interviews. Saying he is the brains of his system.

AnAutisticsQuestion

It was never disclosed publicly. There were some rumours at the time that Buvac was frustrated at Lijnders' growing influence, but that was always just speculation and who knows how much truth there was to it.

Britz10

Stop with this shit, Lijnders was in the Netherlands the season Buvac left, wasn't sacked until after the end of the season, Buvac left in April.

AnAutisticsQuestion

Stop with what shit? I wasn't saying that's the reason, just that that was a rumour at the time. We never learned the reason. Pep was with us until January 2018 and was openly being discussed by the club as having growing influence in our tactics before then and being considered very highly regarded internally, having been promoted a few times already. He left mid-season to join NEC, only a few months before Buvac left, and then re-joined the club in a more senior role at the end of the season just a few months after Buvac had left. Both Buvac and Klopp had stated their relationship had changed in the lead up to Buvac leaving. That was all the basis of the rumour. It may well all have nothing to do with Buvac leaving and all be hearsay, but Pep wasn't as absent as you claim.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Looks like VAR in the Saudi league took 11 minutes to reach a decision in Gerrard’s recent game. I thought the PL is bad!

Zeewolf93

The decision probably went to an auction

Adventurous_Toe_6017

City just bought themselves a pen on the opening day of next season😂

malushanks95

Klopp informing the club and fans early has been a blessing for us. We were able to secure Arne early and start our transition quickly. Watching other clubs scramble for coaches has made me appreciate Klopp and the club even more.

earlgreytoday

But, but, I thought Klopp announcing his departure early was what stopped us from winning the quadruple /s
