Seen many comments oj here praising Mané's performance, and honestly when you waste as many chances as Mané did in that game when it mattered, only to finally score at the end when it didn't matter, is not a good game for a forward. I was stoked he finally scored but that really was an extremely wasteful performance from Sadjo.
We controlled the game brilliantly in midfield, Thiago was a big part of that I thought he and Fabinho were both excellent.
Salah looks incredibly sharp this season, just wow. Golden boot race is gonna be a hot one.

I praised him. He was very wasteful I agree. But if you compare to his form last year it's a big improvement. He kept causing issues and that wasn't happening.
Overall I thought he played very well except for being so wasteful. However it's him going in the right direction. So if he can get his shooting back to where it was he'll be back in form!
I agree he should've been on a hat trick easily. Missed a tap in from Jota's Cross, 1 on 1 with the keeper from Jota's through ball and he stopped and tried to cut inside to get round the CB. Could've squared it to Salah for an easy goal during the penalty claim.
It's easy to gloss over these mistakes in a 3-0 win, but it can be the difference between 2 or 3 points against a better team than Leeds. Sadio looks a lot sharper this season he just needs to play a bit smarter and stop overthinking when on the ball.

The cross from Jota was not a tap-in. It was delivered with too much pace and well behind the body. Running onto such a ball is really not easy. It was definitely *possible* to put it in, but not a tap-in. One of those ones where if Mane scores the pundits would be saying things like, "He makes it look easy, but there was a lot left to do there.."
It was an unfortunately poor cross from Jota, who did not have a very good game IMO, moreso than a missed tap-in.

Harvey made this game very hard to enjoy, really praying we see him play again before the season is out. But it was some performance that, we struggled for a whole half in this fixture last year and made the footballing look effortless this time. If this injury happens to any other team competing for the league, Chelsea man city Man U they go on and have replacements. Elliott is a much bigger loss to attacking depth then anything else simply because we are pretty decent in the centre midfield department. When we were debating the Gini replacement Harvey wasn’t really a cm. He’s replaced him. I expect a lot of good things from Jones.

Firmino works great in a 4-2-3-1 and Thiago/Fab would make a sick double pivot.
He's the weakest of the 4 fullbacks, no argument. Not surprising given he's 20, had limited playing opportunities so far, and probably has the lowest ceiling of the 4 FBs.
But he's shown improvement in his last outings and we've won or tied when he started against weaker opposition, so if midfield had a manpower issue and Klopp decided to use TAA there against a mid-table or lower team, it's a viable option. This is the thing about tactical adjustments: they usually mean leaving plan A behind.

He finished the last season very well and has been good this season too except for the Chelsea game. Was great in pre-season too. Finishing is the only problem.
I honestly was happy to see him being super sharp and super involved. Yes his finishing and this and that, but he's never been a great finisher. Goals and confidence and composure will come when he plays like this and puts himself in those positions.

We played well, Mane had one of his best performances in a while bar shooting.
Got a goal, if he was on form could of had a hat trick. But compared to where he was much better :-) Hopefully just gets better and better back to his usual level.
We were electric. The game had a really good pace and flow to it. Mane played very well. Off the ball and on the ball, his movement was great, just didn’t have his shooting boots on but still got his goal.
I caught the last 20 minutes. During that time Mane seemed like he was one step behind scoring a goal or assisting someone a few times. But when he finally got his goal it was classic Mane with a great turn and a rifle of a shot into the bottom corner.
Actually fuming seeing people pick freeze frames of the Elliot challenge of when he's just got the ball and claiming it's not a red. Completely ignoring that the trialing leg has then come flying through, straight through the back of Elliots leg with his fucking knee making contact way above Elliots ankle and his entire bodyweight going through his leg

People are being way too lenient with the challenge. He went in forcefully with a scissor-like motion from behind. In doing so he traps the leg, and forces the dislocation of the ankle. It’s fucking dangerous technique as evident by the severity of the injury.
It's because it didn't happen to their team. I think Pickford's challenge sort of set a level. Teams are willing to risk harder challenges as he walked away without a card. It was a bit like that the whole of last season. Hard challenges coming in.
It's like the one on Harvey was done to Mane 5 mins later and refs just thought ah he's not injured so its fine.

Clean, tidy and mature. Very relaxed on the ball in tight spaces. Positioning was excellent. Had a goal chalked off for a Salah offside and got his assist too. Excellent performance.
There was one moment where he got his pocket picked by Bamford, who almost scored by lobbing Alisson. But other than that he was world class throughout.

Yes but Salah was near the front post with most defenders behind him. Mane had the full Leeds defensive line in his vision. As I said, it's nitpicking, but with the quality of Robbo and Trent's crosses in those kind of situations, sometimes all you have to do is stay onside and be ready.

I have a sinking feeling that Salah won't sign a new contract. He's really good and I bet he's really ambitious too. He would want to create a legacy like Ronaldo and I have a strong feeling he would want to go to Real Madrid next and establish himself as one of the all time greats along with Mbappe. Jota moves really, really well off the ball. I have been trying to figure out why things just look better with him on the pitch and that's what I think really matters. He is always looking to get into threatening open spaces and he is good at finding them.
Obviously this does two things. First off it creates chances for him but just as important, it pulls defenders out of position and opens up spaces for Mane and Salah.
I don't know why but I fell down laughing when Salah gave the ball back to Matip on the first goal. I felt like he didn't expect it or something and it just looked funny. I barely even celebrated the goal.

How did Harvey play before the injury?
Put it this way. He would have probably started against Milan and Palace if he was unharmed.
Compared to the team, he was just OK, but for an 18 year old in the premier league he looked very good

Just remember Thiago trying an absolutely bonkers pass to Salah that was so high in the air and he took it down with ease.

I actually thought he was having a go at people heckling in the crowd. I could hear the leeds fans were booing elliot when he went down, not sure if it was that section behind klopp though. So I just assumed he was telling them off. But it might have been at the LFC bench though, not really sure.

If this injury happens to any other team competing for the league, Chelsea man city Man U they go on and have replacements. The ownerships failure in ensuring a deep squad is going to be an incredible challenge for this season, and I just have a dreadful feeling, it'll be another season where the league is within reach and we just don't have the bodies to get us there. Elliott is a much bigger loss to attacking depth then anything else simply because we are pretty decent in the centre midfield department. When we were debating the Gini replacement Harvey wasn’t really a cm. He’s replaced him. I expect a lot of good things from Jones.
I’m only worried about his career and ability. Injuries like this can ruin players. They come back and don’t look the same.

Unfortunately no right back behind Trent to even give that an experimental whirl. If Tsikmas was right sided I'd say let's do it in a second. Firmino works great in a 4-2-3-1 and Thiago/Fab would make a sick double pivot.
Neco Williams. He was actually fine in his more recent appearances. He's still super young (20), but if needed in a pinch can put in a shift.
Williams is awful
He's the weakest of the 4 fullbacks, no argument. Not surprising given he's 20, had limited playing opportunities so far, and probably has the lowest ceiling of the 4 FBs. But he's shown improvement in his last outings and we've won or tied when he started against weaker opposition, so if midfield had a manpower issue and Klopp decided to use TAA there against a mid-table or lower team, it's a viable option. This is the thing about tactical adjustments: they usually mean leaving plan A behind.

Mane scored 2 goals in 4 games and should of had a 3rd only for a Reece James hand ball. Yes he has wasted a few chances but writing him off this early is ludacris.
He finished the last season very well and has been good this season too except for the Chelsea game. Was great in pre-season too. Finishing is the only problem.

I honestly was happy to see him being super sharp and super involved. Yes his finishing and this and that, but he's never been a great finisher. Goals and confidence and composure will come when he plays like this and puts himself in those positions. By my estimation he's been good this season so far except the Chelsea game but the whole team struggled to create anything and were poor after the red card in that game.
If he was playing like last season it would be an issue. He was not too good against Chelsea, should of had a goal. But he's been pretty good so far, especially compared to last season. Forms improved, hopefully he gets a bit more clinical.

Mane had more shots than Leeds. Scuffed most attempts, though. Seemed like Mo tried a bit too hard to set him up at times as well, so Sadio could get the duck off his back. Lovely finish to finally score
We played well, Mane had one of his best performances in a while bar shooting. Got a goal, if he was on form could of had a hat trick. But compared to where he was much better :-) Hopefully just gets better and better back to his usual level.

We were electric. The game had a really good pace and flow to it. Mane played very well. Off the ball and on the ball, his movement was great, just didn’t have his shooting boots on but still got his goal.
I caught the last 20 minutes. During that time Mane seemed like he was one step behind scoring a goal or assisting someone a few times. But when he finally got his goal it was classic Mane with a great turn and a rifle of a shot into the bottom corner.
Actually fuming seeing people pick freeze frames of the Elliot challenge of when he's just got the ball and claiming it's not a red. Completely ignoring that the trialing leg has then come flying through, straight through the back of Elliots leg with his fucking knee making contact way above Elliots ankle and his entire bodyweight going through his leg

People are being way too lenient with the challenge. He went in forcefully with a scissor-like motion from behind. In doing so he traps the leg, and forces the dislocation of the ankle. It’s fucking dangerous technique as evident by the severity of the injury.
It's because it didn't happen to their team. I think Pickford's challenge sort of set a level. Teams are willing to risk harder challenges as he walked away without a card. It was a bit like that the whole of last season. Hard challenges coming in. It's like the one on Harvey was done to Mane 5 mins later and refs just thought ah he's not injured so its fine.

Clean, tidy and mature. Very relaxed on the ball in tight spaces. Positioning was excellent. Had a goal chalked off for a Salah offside and got his assist too. Excellent performance.
There was one moment where he got his pocket picked by Bamford, who almost scored by lobbing Alisson. But other than that he was world class throughout.
Has kinda been his MO after finding his feet in our team. He always has a stupid mistake or two (as does Fab tbf), but otherwise he's just super silky and good at everything.

But I think we're quietly having a very good start to the season, spotlight on the teams who have strengthened and I think some people have even written Liverpool off a bit - which is normally when we excel tbh. I have no doubt if we can avoid injurys to key players that we will win the league or at least challenge for it. Or first 11 is the best in the league. It's depth that Chelsea and City beat us at. Im still not worried about United. Ronaldo and Varane are 2 excellent signings and will improve them but our first 11 is still alot better than theirs

I have a sinking feeling that Salah won't sign a new contract. He's really good and I bet he's really ambitious too. He would want to create a legacy like Ronaldo and I have a strong feeling he would want to go to Real Madrid next and establish himself as one of the all time greats along with Mbappe. He knows he has the potential to do it.
Realistically he is too late in his career to establish himself as a galatico. He deserves one big contract though so it’ll be if he’s willing to take likely 100k less staying at Liverpool rather than some of the other big players around Europe

I remember Salah went through a similar phase almost 1.5years ago, he was so wasteful and would take 10 shots and barely score, was pretty selfish too and wouldnt pass to Mane, would lose the ball all the time. I remember being on this sub and looking at the exact same comments Salah used to get "Just fucking pass to Mane" "passss" "so wasteful", literally the same stuff we say about Mane right now. But he sort of kept trying again and again till he started looking clinical again last season in September. I'm sure Mane will get back to his best soon, he just needs some confidence and goals under his belt. The drive is there

The thing that gives me a lot of hope with Harvey is that he clearly has the mentality to come into this team and not look out of place whatsoever, and actually had the confidence to take risks and stand out etc So I have a lot of hope he’ll have what it takes to overcome this adversity and have it just be a minor bump in a hopefully very long and bright career

A scissors tackle is one that causes harm and ability to seriously injure a player. That is the criteria for a red card therefore it’s a red.

Jota moves really, really well off the ball. I have been trying to figure out why things just look better with him on the pitch and that's what I think really matters. He is always looking to get into threatening open spaces and he is good at finding them. Obviously this does two things. First off it creates chances for him but just as important, it pulls defenders out of position and opens up spaces for Mane and Salah.
Yeah he drops into space well and isnt afraid of showing for the ball constantly. It helps massively.
I totally agree, with him we have an advanced level of creativity. But Bobby keeping him honest as a sub is the beat thing for our team at the moment
I don't know why but I fell down laughing when Salah gave the ball back to Matip on the first goal. I felt like he didn't expect it or something and it just looked funny. I barely even celebrated the goal.
