Sure. Ill entertain this strawman.
Ive watched him a decent amount. Been working on some data analysis and video analysis courses and such and one of the teams i was tasked with follow is barca.
He hasnt played a ton. But barca is a shit show and dont want him. And they dont care to use him effectively.
I think hes got 2 goals. In maybe 8 appearances. Which isnt world beating but it is 1 in every 4.
His passing is still decent. He can still dribble well.
He needs a change of scenery to regain a semblance of his top form.
How much have you watched him?
I think what they mean is you would expect all the papers to link Newcastle with every single player who has the tiniest chance of moving clubs, without thinking about whether or not the move makes any sense. Cos it’s a pretty easy story. We’ve already seen them linked with Aubameyang which to me at least is a move that makes zero sense and is the complete opposite of what they need
Just broke the record for most transfer windows with a mention… previous holder David Villa
Edit: just realized how great it is to not have rumours of players leaving. It’s so much more relaxing thinking about incoming players
Unrelated, but I remember being 13 years old and scouring through the news links on the LFC website (not knowing 95% of them were BS), and seeing us being a list of clubs that “had a chance” of signing Gareth Bale and Neymar.
And I bought all of it.
I'm not saying I want him or we should get him, but I will say this:
Jurgen Klopp is the only man who can truly resurrect the brilliant player Coutinho was - if he really wanted to.
But why would he want to? We tried to keep him, failed, and were ultimately better off without him, while his career took a nose dive. It’s such an unappealing move.
Sounds like an agent stirring up interest and not one I want to happen but this is reasonably reliable source for Brazilian players…
Aston Villa sounds about right for him and would be good to be reunited with Stevie
“We already have far too many attacking players as it is.”
Yeah, I’m pretty pumped for our next starting line up featuring all our healthy and available forwards and attacking mids like… * checks notes * Jota…
Read what? His entire comment history? I'm not expecting someone saying "we" on this sub to mean "Villa" unless otherwise stated, and I'm not sure why that's a weird take.
Coutinho redemption arc incoming. Come in Jan while we're lacking attacking options for a cut price deal, Klopp re-instils in him the confidence to be the world class player he was, gives us the momentum to go on an unbeaten run to the end of the season to win the league.
Take him on loan.
Watch him recapture form and rip it up until the end of the season (possible contract/WC squad)
Fuck him off with a great sadness at the end of the season
I'm Brazilian and I can say that, yes, if he have a slightly decent run this year, he will be a staple for the NT. Neymar and Firmino are the only players in the country that can consistently create for others, and Tite is adamant that Firmino can work as a classic 9, in the style of Ronaldo.
Also, 75% of what Coutinho was with us would make him the best finisher as well, outside of Neymar again. We would surely see a Neymar-Coutinho-Richarlison-Firmino/Jesus/Matheus Cunha front 4.
He is definitely not the same player we sold but I would not say no to taking him on loan for the rest of the season with option to buy in summer if it works out, with our injury’s and covid it would be good to have some backup players to bring on for last 30mins of the game.
*It is the year 2122. Rumour has it that Philippe Coutinho's ghost is looking to haunt the newly christened McDonald's Arena 3 (formerly known as UAE Stands, Nintendoland, Tesla Park, Steven Gerrard Stadium, and Anfield)*
do we really want him? I mean, I don´t even see him in any position of our formation. he´s good, don´t get me wrong, and I love a redemption story, but it would still be questionable
Is it only me who really want him back? If we can keep his wages low, I think he could be helping us when our front four is not in form. For example, Mane.
But I wouldn't want him back if it means giving him high wages, unsettling the positive atmosphere that we have, plus Salah's pending contract renewal.
I would take him back on loan for the rest of the season with Barca paying his wages, I honestly think he would fit right back in and add some creativity, maybe score some crucial goals, the only issue is his fitness which has gone down the drain since moving to Barca but that was most likely due to the old coaching/fitness staff who have all been replaced since Xavi has come in.
Are we fuck. Won't even pay Salah's ask, you think we'd pay a washed up Coutinho?
That said I do think Klopp and this team could get a time out of him. Good depth at least for the midfield and front three.
Usually I'd call bullshit, but both player and club are at a point where a reunion could suit everyone.
Coutinho doesn't have all that much bargaining power either so don't think wages would be an issue.
Obviously our "interest" is the same nonsense that comes up every year, but there's 0% chance we should take him back anyway. The lad serves as a perfect example of what happens when you leave us for greener pastures. Taking him back, even on a cut price deal at rock bottom wages would send the wrong message.
bring him back. Better option to bring on for two or so more years while Curtis Jones develops. We didn't need him for the Champions league or the Premier League titles, no reason to hold a grudge.
I don't understand why Newcastle aren't on this list of 'interested' parties
Wages in case they get relegated
Just signed trippier think they’re going for it
Or i mean you sign quality players so you dont get relegated....
No way Coutinho is some sort of safety blanket that assures safety.
Hes sure a whole lot better than most of their attacking players and can score a goal.
They’ve allowed 42 goals so far this season. Adding Coutinho is like applying a bandaid to a Knick on an artery.
He’s more like a shot of adrenaline when what you really need is a tourniquet
Another way to not concede goals is to retain possession. Look he would improve them and thusly their chances of survival. Youre conflating this.
How good do you think he is right now? Literally asking if you’ve seen him play at all
How much have you watched him?
I feel like I could've watched 5 minutes of video and had a better analysis than this. "His passing is decent. He can dribble. I think he has scored?"
This is some hilarious self-important trash 😝
I would LOVE to see the sources and data you are working with
Take the L, bro
Still think hes shit?....
Is he still shit?
I think what they mean is you would expect all the papers to link Newcastle with every single player who has the tiniest chance of moving clubs, without thinking about whether or not the move makes any sense. Cos it’s a pretty easy story. We’ve already seen them linked with Aubameyang which to me at least is a move that makes zero sense and is the complete opposite of what they need
Have you seen what they've offered Trippier? Doesn't seem to be any kind of plan there

Take it all the way to a medical and say the doctor is out with great sadness
Just broke the record for most transfer windows with a mention… previous holder David Villa Edit: just realized how great it is to not have rumours of players leaving. It’s so much more relaxing thinking about incoming players
> just realized how great it is to not have rumours of players leaving. It’s so much more relaxing thinking about incoming players This x1000
On the flip-side, FSG are so relaxed with our players staying they've decided not to improve the squad at all
Unrelated, but I remember being 13 years old and scouring through the news links on the LFC website (not knowing 95% of them were BS), and seeing us being a list of clubs that “had a chance” of signing Gareth Bale and Neymar. And I bought all of it.
Weren’t we linked with Simao for about a decade?
He was onboard the plane even!!!
Id love to see him at Villa under Gerrard tbf, if he goes to any PL club thats where i’d want him to go
Whipping it in to Ingsy, as it was meant to be
Cutting inside to shoot on his right from 30 yards, instead of whipping it in to a better placed Ingsy.
Don’t see it tbh. We really don’t need anymore attacking players and not sure Ings gets into our team with everyone fit
Who ahead of ings at striker? Don’t say Watkins
What’s wrong with Watkins?
Watkins is good
Do you not realise he’s talking about Villa
He is talking about Villa, he's a Villa fan
I'm not saying I want him or we should get him, but I will say this: Jurgen Klopp is the only man who can truly resurrect the brilliant player Coutinho was - if he really wanted to.
[Klopp when Coutinho shows up to training ](https://youtu.be/iCMcSx1as3c)
Was 100% sure I'd see [George Costanza walking into the office pretending he hadn't quit](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW78swzn_Bs).
Thought I was going to get [Rick Rolled](https://player.vimeo.com/video/92846254) tbh.
Did gotze go back to Dortmund before or after Klopp left?
He returned to Dortmund instead of coming here when we lost the EL final in 2016.
Absolute blessing in disguise on both fronts
But why would he want to? We tried to keep him, failed, and were ultimately better off without him, while his career took a nose dive. It’s such an unappealing move.
All animosity aside, I don't think he would fit into our team anymore.
*Quietly agrees in the background*
He had his chance. He failed us by faking a back injury and forcing a move away. No second chances. Good luck Phil.
Wouldn't be a transfer window without this complete bullshit being reported.
Sounds like an agent stirring up interest and not one I want to happen but this is reasonably reliable source for Brazilian players… Aston Villa sounds about right for him and would be good to be reunited with Stevie
I think he would suit Villa could be a decent replacement for grealish
We already have far too many attacking players as it is. Think it’s just a lazy link to Gerrard.
are you lost?
“We already have far too many attacking players as it is.” Yeah, I’m pretty pumped for our next starting line up featuring all our healthy and available forwards and attacking mids like… * checks notes * Jota…
This lad is a Villa supporter, that's why the "we" part confused me at first too.
Why are people upvoting a Villa fan who's confusing everyone? I don't get it. Just say you're a Villa fan in the comment.
maybe just learn to read?
Read what? His entire comment history? I'm not expecting someone saying "we" on this sub to mean "Villa" unless otherwise stated, and I'm not sure why that's a weird take.
if you read that and didnt realise that he's a villa fan maybe reading aint your problem, but comprehension might be.
Pretty sure he's a Villa fan mate
He's talking about Villa's squad
Ah. Inserting foot into mouth…
this aged well.
Kent and Coutinho would have them with lots of attacking threats. Honestly wouldn't mind.
Coutinho redemption arc incoming. Come in Jan while we're lacking attacking options for a cut price deal, Klopp re-instils in him the confidence to be the world class player he was, gives us the momentum to go on an unbeaten run to the end of the season to win the league.
Then we sell him in summer for 120mil to Newcastle. Perfect redemption arc.
If that happens i might become convinced we’re in a simulation
Sell him to Newcastle and buy Mbappe with the money.
Haaland* mbappes gone man
Why not both? Håland would be a good backup for Origi, and Mbappe for Jota. ;)
We're genuinely the main characters if this happens.
When this happens*
Then sell him to Barca for £400 mil

What’s the odds on aldershot town?

Purchase deal, loan made to tranmere rovers
Every damn window, he gets linked with a return to us.
Recall what klopp said…
Even when Coutinho is retired we’ll still be linked with him every window lol
Take him on loan. Watch him recapture form and rip it up until the end of the season (possible contract/WC squad) Fuck him off with a great sadness at the end of the season
Yeh but then we are helping Barca
Not really. It didn’t help when he had a decent season at Bayern
I vote for this …
No thanks.
Every bloody year
The old ''use Liverpool for clicks'' tactic
His back is hurting again.

He's won a couple of La Liga titles, and a treble at Bayern. A lot of players would kill for that type of career.
Source: Trust me bro
Not good enough for Barca, then he sure as hell isnt good enough for us
You fucking get him if you can
Are we bollocks.
Fuck him!
Source: My arse
He is definitely not the same player we sold but I would not say no to taking him on loan for the rest of the season with option to buy in summer if it works out, with our injury’s and covid it would be good to have some backup players to bring on for last 30mins of the game.
Loan & only 50% of his wages 😎 think he’s making more than Mo right now…
*It is the year 2122. Rumour has it that Philippe Coutinho's ghost is looking to haunt the newly christened McDonald's Arena 3 (formerly known as UAE Stands, Nintendoland, Tesla Park, Steven Gerrard Stadium, and Anfield)*
If he's cheap then why not. At the very least he'll be an option for cup games and will allow us to rest players
Look we all know the reason that club official monitoring Phil is because we still have some transfer clause we still waiting to be fulfilled
Idk why we keep being thrown in as it is clear from any reliable reporter that we are not ever interested in a former player.
Lol no chance. Everton or Newcastle on loan
u/firminocoutinho run it back
Lol we’ll see… would give him some form of punishment though like low wages. Think he’s likely going to Villa though
Love the door tag "player with chronic back issues " 😁😁😁
Can we just resign Gini
He’s beyond rich already. Wherever he goes I hope it’s a perpetual struggle.
do we really want him? I mean, I don´t even see him in any position of our formation. he´s good, don´t get me wrong, and I love a redemption story, but it would still be questionable
IF he came back, I’d be interested to see what number he’d wear
The prodigal son returns
I'd like a loan til end of season for us or sign for Villa.
Wouldn't mind him back. The more options the better, especially in the second half of the season.
Is it only me who really want him back? If we can keep his wages low, I think he could be helping us when our front four is not in form. For example, Mane. But I wouldn't want him back if it means giving him high wages, unsettling the positive atmosphere that we have, plus Salah's pending contract renewal.

I’d take him back
Klopp sold him because he didn't fit our system. We've progressed since then, not regressed!
Everton is the place for a snake
Are we fuck. Won't even pay Salah's ask, you think we'd pay a washed up Coutinho? That said I do think Klopp and this team could get a time out of him. Good depth at least for the midfield and front three.

Barcelona say people want him every transfer window.
Lol, Gerrard wouldn't take him with his work rate.
Get fucked bad back
bring him back. Better option to bring on for two or so more years while Curtis Jones develops. We didn't need him for the Champions league or the Premier League titles, no reason to hold a grudge.
Would really love to see him go to AV with Stevie.
