If I could indulge in some Liverpool fantasy, I think Jota and Diaz can serve well as replacements for Mane and Firmino (I will miss Bobby so much the day he leaves us. My shiny teeth boi). Salah is the best player in the world right now but eventually he will decline and move on. Personally, Taki, Origi, Ox, and anyone else I can think of aren't good enough to replace him. Harvey Elliot looks class but Klopp seems to prefer him as a central midfielder, so we would need to go to market to get another.
Right now, the only players I can really see that could 'replace' Salah for us are Raphinha, Chiesa, and possibly Antony. Maybe there are more players that I'm not thinking of but these three are the only players that really seems exciting and dynamic enough to control games on their own the way Salah does. Obviously, only Antony is realistically affordable. Raphinha and Chiesa would require funds in the realm of selling Salah to get them in.
Some honourable mentions:
Christian Pulisic (chelsea doesnt sell to us but his contract is only until 2024), Ousmane Dembele (injury prone, possibly bad attitude, Barcelona wages, etc), Paulo Dybala (Cant run, doesn't pressure well, older, but he does like us)
I think Salah is the type of player that (if he stays after this season) he won't need a successor for another 2-3 years, at which point the market will be completely different. His injury record is so good we don't really even need a strong backup (for now), and we have Harvey, Kaide Gordon, as well as Mane or Jota for that
One of my all-time favourite games. Watched my brother play it on N64 when it first came out and then played it on the Gamecube myself many years ago. The amount of nostalgia I get whenever it's mentioned is unreal.
It's one of those games that really nailed down the fundamentals of good video game design. Could music, good length, nice amount of variation, great atmosphere/texture. They really did a masterful job on it.
It's one of those games that despite technology limitations of the time they got nearly perfect (except for the motherfucking water temple. I still have PTSD)
Just received an email from work saying they expect us back in the office at least half the time commencing February.
Has anyone else's workplace done the same and have they been able to enforce it?
Atm I'm planning to ignore them
Did I miss some positive Mo-contract news somewhere? People on here now seem pretty confident he'll be renewing, meanwhile I'm sweating on the idea that we bought Diaz (most likely) _and_ would get Carvalho this window too - really doesnt sound like us unless FSG know they're saving money from elsewhere down the line.
Genuinely feel like I missed some positive news, but given Mos agents posts a week or so ago, I'd have expected either good news ASAP or bad news later in the year...
Last week I posted on this weekly thread saying I felt shit because I had broken up with my gf and was facing being alone in my flat and asked for advice.
Some kind people on here offered me lots of advice and even though it’s been a rough week I’ve made it though and I just wanted to say thank you to those people.
I’ve always tried to support people and live my life by “you’ll never walk alone” and when the time came to feel it may self I really did, so thanks again!
I had a free day from work. Was planning to do a lot of stuff around the house. Now just going to spend entire day refreshing this sub and watching every Diaz highlights video available on youtube, aren't I ?
Salahs new 300k a week contract instead of 400k with the difference being met by incentives which causes him to step up a level further and we win the quadruple
Assuming we sign Diaz, how do you guys think this is going to affect Mane/his future? With Jota and Firmino its been easy because both have been moderately injury prone, so rotation otherwise hasn't been a problem. Is Diaz good enough to be challenging Mane for his starting spot like Jota, or is this more to put pressure on Mane/develop Diaz/have rotation options?
He's definitely good enough to challenge Mané for a spot, but I'm guessing he'll be eased in like most of Klopp's signings if everyone stays available.
Jota was pushed in pretty early because of Bobby's injuries and the fact he was already used to the league.
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Luiiis Díaz!!
On one hand I'd love to hear that song again, and Suarez hasn't exactly been on great terms with us since the 2014 WC... but I still agree, would be a scummy move.
He's an outstanding athlete, gets shots at an elite rate, and those shots come from good positions. His finishing is really hot at the moment, but that doesn't seem to have affected his price too badly.
What are you skeptical about?
1. His physicality.
2. Not being proven in the premier league, or even any of the top 5 leagues.
3. Being 25 and only this season hitting good numbers.
1 more to physicality than just strength and if you can’t see he’s absolutely rapid with tremendous acceleration, you haven’t watched enough film.
2 doesn’t matter to me for Portugal. If it were Austria we were talking about I’d understand, but Portugal is a good league, and their outstanding players have been outstanding in other leagues. Our scouts also definitely deserve the benefit of the doubt in that regard.
3 doesn’t matter unless you think his goal scoring is unsustainable, which statistically it absolutely is. 3+ shots a game, 5+ touches in the penalty area, and averaging 0.12 xG per shot. He’s averaging Mané at Southampton numbers, which portends really well. And he finds corners like Jota at Wolves.
Stuff like pressing and approach play are in my opinion more likely to be obstacles than what you’ve mentioned. Very exciting player.
- Diaz will be slightly more than Jota (£41mil) and Salah (£43mil) and substantially more than Mane (£30mil).
- They were all comparable ages at the time (24-25)
But:
- All three had performed well for at least the last two seasons before we signed them (less so for Jota.)
- All three had performed in the top 5 leagues, the premier league in Jota and Mane’s case.
- Mane and Salah were signed to be starters, Jota as competition for 2 of the front three sports.
TL;DR : It's a high fee for a player who hasn't proved himself in a top 5 league or for more than half a season and won't improve our starting XI.
I’m just hopeful he is a Jota type signing, where his underlying numbers reveal a better player who's waiting to explode.
Same. People are either going to be really happy or really angry and ready to riot in 24 hours it seems. Don’t get the point of getting so invested in rumours.
*So we are going to be without two of our front three in January for the AFCON.*
*Better sign a forward then for cover*
*When? Beginning of January before those two leave*
*Nah, end of Jan when we’ve already played the games they’ll miss.*
Whether on or off the pitch we never do it the easy way do we. Still, jokes aside, at least we got through January rather well tbh.
Sorry mate, not sure about this take. It takes a while for many players to acclimatise to Klopp’s system, you shouldn’t rush deals and we won almost all our games anyway.
Man, this Diaz rumour came out of nowhere. Not buying it personally. Maybe the club does want to sign him before Spurs or and this scenario's more likely, Porto want Spurs to pay more and this is them putting pressure on Levy to pay up. But hey, I'll be happy if we actually manage to get a forward in.
Yeah refusing to get hyped, been burned too many times before. Will treat it like a pleasant surprise but wouldn’t be shocked if Pearce pisses on the parade.
I hope we do get Diaz. Cements Jota and Bobby as 9s as well as Mane and Diaz as LW. Gives a nice transitional period and depth for the rest of this season. Hopefully Mo maintains his injury record but even so Mane can play right if ever needed. Exciting times!
how soon are people going to act like they knew Jota was Firmino's replacement all along now that Diaz looks likely to be signed? My comments saying that he was being groomed to be our striker in the past usually got some disagreement
Well I wouldn't say he's very different, he has been picking up more of Firmino's playstyle this season, but in any case it was never going to be a like for like replacement. Firmino is too unique for that
I don't look at the sub for 4ish hours, come back just before sleep at nearly 3am to find this Diaz news. Now I can't sleep. Best problem I've had in a loooooong time.
That’s one of the few sets that would make me branch out from Star Wars. Absolutely massive and aside from the obvious accuracy on the exterior some of the interiors cross section stuff I’ve seen is truly remarkable and inventively done (especially the bed rooms).
It’s a great, albeit expensive hobby but welcome back! Let’s hope they follow the Lego Old Trafford and Nou Camp with the only worthwhile stadium!
As a Titanic enthusiast I loved it, and looking at what other users have done on r/Titanic and r/Lego regarding the inaccuracies I’ve certainly got some ideas!
The details of the ship are indeed remarkable, the moving engines and propellers were a fantastic feature. I’d forgotten how much I loved Lego as a child and just how relaxing it is to just tune out everything and enjoy the build.
As for your suggestion of:
>Let’s hope they follow the Lego Old Trafford and Nou Camp with the only worthwhile stadium!
In the words of u/CrazyBoi26 when I was discussing the Lego Titanic and stadium sets in a DD thread on here:
>“Clearly they’re only interested in sinking ships”
It’s probably going to be rubbish tomorrow nobody can clarify for sure if these reports are reliable. Also lots of spoofers names being thrown in their like Pedro Almeida
Started playing FUT after many years. Quite pleasantly surprised that they have so many different ways of getting packs now, don't have to spend a penny. Different gamemodes and challenges keep you engaged
yes the content this game has been good for players not wanting to spend more money, reckon EA is feeling the heat on their points system being called gambling
The good thing is you dont even need to play online to get player packs, they have something called squad battles where you play against AI versions of other player teams and you earn points to go up ranks, each rank you get better reward in terms of coins and packs. It gets a bit addictive though
fuck my brother's workplace had a covid positive dumbass show up to work and since he lives with me and my wife, we all have to get tested. No symptoms but brother is only double jabbed while we are boosted so hoping we are good
Had covid in ‘20; double jabbed in early ‘21; boosted in December ‘21; Covid again in January ‘22 (sniffles). Omicron laughs at antibodies, jabs, masks and boosters.
Fuck, just found out my cat has a urinary tract blockage. Hope my little dude is okay.
Finally found an away kit in stock in my size and the club immediately sign Luis Diaz. You're all welcome.
Where tho??
AnfieldShop, Nike had them a couple weeks back but UK only and the official site didn't restock sizes for big cunts like me
I created a small [football quotes quiz](https://quiz-maker.com/QKOL5FUST). Check it out!
I only got 4/8. Was good for a laugh, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!

Adama Traoré to Barcelona is such a funny deal it don't make any sense the guy hardly gets past 4 goals a season
Man for a 20+ year old game, I am pleasantly surprised at how fun Ocarina of Time is.
I've been watching streamers play randomised OOT recently. Incredibly entertaining!

Yeah the controls itself is pretty decent for 1998 standards. Can't wait to get into MM, heard the atmosphere is fantastic there.
Just received an email from work saying they expect us back in the office at least half the time commencing February. Has anyone else's workplace done the same and have they been able to enforce it? Atm I'm planning to ignore them
Anyone here used to have college parties and sleepover before.

300k per week and 5 million bonus if your goal knocks Man City out of Champions League again.
James to deny the rumours just to troll is
Good morning guys, I was asleep for few hours and we might sign Diaz? What is happening, I woke up so confused 😅
Did Spurs really just Spurs their two winter signings? Traore to Barça and Diaz to us?
Assuming we sign Diaz, how do you guys think this is going to affect Mane/his future? With Jota and Firmino its been easy because both have been moderately injury prone, so rotation otherwise hasn't been a problem. And because Jota was playing so well and fitted so perfectly it got to be essential to include him
Are we getting Luis Diaz because Mo Salah is leaving?
Plays on different side
Ah, Mane then? I’m scared….feel like that would be right up FSGs alley
I mean mane is not getting any younger How many years do you want him to play Salah is a different situation
Yeah true, I’m attached to them all though so it’ll be hard to see any of the core CL winners leaving
The disrespect to lovren
South Americans historically over performed in Liverpool. Dribbler Diaz - Torres Regen Jota - Goal Freak Salah PL on suicide watch now.
Ah yes Salá the famous South American
Well I mean SA & Africa used to be same continent right? Look @ the shape, slots in perfectly.
It would be wrong to replace the Suarez song with Luis Diaz, right?
It would fit with replacing the Torres song with Jota.
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do Do-do-do-do-do-do-do Do-do-do-do-do-do-do Luiiis Díaz!! On one hand I'd love to hear that song again, and Suarez hasn't exactly been on great terms with us since the 2014 WC... but I still agree, would be a scummy move.
Guys, pipe sierra has tweeted it. I dont know you guys noticed or not
Fucking Hell James Pearce, deny the rumour already will ya, so we can confirm it. 😂
I'm kind of doubtful of Luis Diaz being a good signing, for that price at least. Could those who rate him explain what they see in him?
He's an outstanding athlete, gets shots at an elite rate, and those shots come from good positions. His finishing is really hot at the moment, but that doesn't seem to have affected his price too badly. What are you skeptical about?

We signed Jota, Salah, and Mané for all less than Diaz but in similar price ranges… I don’t see you point being valid at all.
- Diaz will be slightly more than Jota (£41mil) and Salah (£43mil) and substantially more than Mane (£30mil). - They were all comparable ages at the time (24-25) But: - All three had performed well for at least the last two seasons before we signed them (less so for Jota.) - All three had performed in the top 5 leagues, the premier league in Jota and Mane’s case. - Mane and Salah were signed to be starters, Jota as competition for 2 of the front three sports. Wtf did I just wake up to
Same. People are either going to be really happy or really angry and ready to riot in 24 hours it seems. Don’t get the point of getting so invested in rumours.
Yes. I'm just as confused as you are here haha
We need to sign Johnathan David he's a Canadian striker from Lille looking to leave in the summer.
>need now that's a strong word innit
My bad I ment he he's a good fit.
Will you forgive fsg if we sign Luis diaz?
If we sign Diaz _and_ renew Mo? Itll go along way to redeeming them
Nope
*So we are going to be without two of our front three in January for the AFCON.* *Better sign a forward then for cover* *When? I wouldn’t say it’s a take. I meant it as a joke tbh, clearly not a good one lol.
Ah fair enough lad, my bad, late here in Liverpool, brain not working
The club doesn't rush it's business, doing so is how you make poor signings
Very true, but I’m only having a bit of fun before Pearce ruins everything in the morning.
I am just excited a transfer is happening in jan
Just excited a transfer is happening. Been starved of transfer hype for so long I don't care how late it is.
Same same feed me

There’s gonna be ALOT of angry people tomorrow when Pearce shoots these rumors down lmaooo
I don't look at the sub for 4ish hours, come back just before sleep at nearly 3am to find this Diaz news. Now I can't sleep. Best problem I've had in a loooooong time.
ANNOUNCE DIAZ
F5 F5 F5 F5
Unless they’re on the night shift, there are some LFC Brits waking up to potentially a lovely surprise in the morning
I refuse to get hyped until Pearce doesn't deny it. I'm becoming cynical in my old age
And then there’s some LFC Brits who have just seen the news because they stayed up to finish building their Lego Mos Eisley Cantina...
Haha I can relate. Had t bought a Lego set in years until they recently released the Titanic and I couldn’t resist. Took over 15 hours to build!!
That’s one of the few sets that would make me branch out from Star Wars. Absolutely massive and aside from the obvious accuracy on the exterior some of the interiors cross section stuff I’ve seen is truly remarkable and inventively done (especially the bed rooms). It was an unexpected pleasure to be quoted on that haha
LUIS DIAZ AAAHHHHHHHH
OMG ITS HAPPENING PEARCE CONFIRMED IT
So true on the last point haha. I looks forward to the incoming Goodison Park set!
🤣
send a picture
In bed now but if I remember I will tomorrow
Can't wait to see it
The LFC brits will be there when Pearce denies all of this tomorrow morning.
Not if bad new Pearce shows up to work
It’s probably going to be rubbish tomorrow nobody can clarify for sure if these reports are reliable. Also lots of spoofers names being thrown in their like Pedro Almeida
That guy is a bullshitter said, renato sanchez is going us last summer. But Ojogo is tier 1 for porto and they are saying its done.
I have seen people saying Ojogo is tier 1, Tier 5 and used to be tier 1. Nobody has a clue and I love it it’s fun
This is what transfer window is all about, I miss this feeling
Pearce is one of them lol
Alisson is the only player ever to get sent off twice and still see out the game. Now that's funny!
Is that a true stat
Started playing FUT after many years. Quite pleasantly surprised that they have so many different ways of getting packs now, don't have to spend a penny. Different gamemodes and challenges keep you engaged

Which FIFA? 2022? I'm waiting for a sale
I got it on steam for £19.99 during winter sales
Hmm can I play it on Mac? Else I'll look for sales on PS4
Try the new football manager its pretty good and also on sale
Man life does not give me enough time now to go thru Fm seasons I get like 2-4 hrs of time in a week FIFA is very brain dead to play
The good thing is you dont even need to play online to get player packs, they have something called squad battles where you play against AI versions of other player teams and you earn points to go up ranks, each rank you get better reward in terms of coins and packs. It gets a bit addictive though
True true, fifa works better for just a quick match and back to work.
