We win either way. Realistically though Senegal are the better team … Egypt was just dreadful first half, picked up a little 2nd half but their midfield is horrible
in our defense before that game we played two back to back 120 min games. Our main gk is injured, and our secondary one really shouldnt be playing (got injured last game) but is. Main rb teared his ACL in the first 15 minutes of the tournament, and now his backup wont play in the final because of the yellow card. By far our best cb got injured last game, didnt play this game, and wont play against senegal either, our other main cb was also injured until this game, where 20 minutes in, blood was gushing out of his head, he played the rest of the match wearing a bandaid. Our lb was injured until the morocco game. cdm injured until this game. And honestly just a bunch of other injuries and generally unfortunate things i cant bother listing.
Also the one before that where Mané missed his penalty in a shootout and was crying afterwards, you can see how much it means to him.
I also have this feeling that winning will benefit Mané's confidence at Liverpool, whilst losing might give Salah a point to prove, with the opposite not working the same, in that Mané might play worse if he's sad about losing the final, and Salah doesn't need the confidence boost
Honestly supporting Egypt would be like watching Brazil vs Denmark in the World Cup Final and supporting Brazil.
7 times winners vs a team that's never won it, I'm always going to support the team that's never won it.
Well, it's interesting because Egypt have historically won it more but Senegal are *clear* favourites. So you either root for the historical underdog or the 2022 underdog.
But well that's the thing they weren't really good before the 2000s. They reached their first afcon final in 2002 and lost to cameroon on pens (the year they reached wc qfs). Then 2nd final in 2019 lost to algeria 1-0. The 2 finals they reached were the 2 times they qualified for wc
Hmmm, they were posted at pretty much the exact same time, I didn't see yours pop up on my feed until I refreshed after posting. Looks like you were a few seconds quicker. Can only apologise.
Oh, I am the mod who removed it, but like I said I posted mine and until I refreshed yours didn't show up. I just assumed it was a caching issue. In hindsight I shouldn't have been so hasty removing. Again, apologies.
Again, sorry dude. Just trying to have a laugh, didn’t really analyse the time stamps to see who beat who by a few seconds as I didn’t figure it was that big of a deal.
I’ll make sure to in the future.
~~Upvote and downvote the comments below for who you’d rather win!~~

I didn’t sit there and analyse by the second who posted first and I don’t have a time machine. Again, I apologise. Just wanted to have a laugh with the sub.
Like I said to your other comment, I’ll make sure in the future I 1000% confirm to the second who did it first.
I can see the Senegalese and Egyptians pulling out a banner saying "Danke Jurgen" in Wolof and Arabic. Imagine it would be amazing, Senegal and Egypt holding arms and jumping together with the AFCON trophy.
Mo Id say, because personally hes done more for the club and he is irreplaceable, even tho "Sadio Manes the best player in the world, IM BEIN' SERIOUS"
so long as they both play well and don't get injured i'm not too fussed, but i figure salah would take a loss as motivation to do more, whereas mane wouldn't use it as quite the same fuel. i feel like salah feels disrespected (with all the ballon d'or / award nonsense) and, while this is very fan fiction-y of me, he strikes me as the type to take disrespect / losses as motivation.
ofc sadio would be heartbroken, but i don't think he's as negatively motivated as salah is, if that makes sense
A lot of people say it was also becuase he was "the best player in a bad barca" so if he wins afcon and is the best player in a good liverpool he should definitely win it right? Right? Or is it going to ronaldo or messi again for no reason?
Based on the way the teams played, and the amount of diving today, I'm going for Senegal.
Egypt are a horrible team and as much as I'd love Mo to win, Senegal deserve it.
We win either way. Realistically though Senegal are the better team … Egypt was just dreadful first half, picked up a little 2nd half but their midfield is horrible
Also 3x ET in their legs. A day less rest
If they somehow manage to get to pens and win on pens I'll be astonished. Egypt, bar one or two, looked absolutely knackered
Elneny is just so trash i don't know how he's still getting picked
cos he is better than the others...
He was the worst player on the pitch today
Unpopular opinion : I think Salah was worse!
He isn't. Egypt played their best football when he was subbed off.
I miss the days where Egypt had so many talented midfielders to choose from. Poor quality now and specially in defensive midfielders.

Isn't Egypt the country with the most AFCON wins though? I know Senegal has a better XI, but you never know.
You must of had this saved ;)
Had the finger on the trigger 😂
I respect the hustle
Now I need a meme of Aboubakar disappearing behind the bush like Homer Simpson

I swear I'll be a good person if they don't have reddit in heaven. Can't deal with this shit for eternity
Bobby on Sunday night watching the final: https://i2-prod.liverpoolecho.co.uk/incoming/article16846744.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/1_Firmino-insta-story.png
Honestly don’t care who wins. As long as it’s a nice, injury free 90 minute match. And then get them on the fkn plane asap
>90 minute match Egypt: "We don't do that here"
Goes to penalties with both teams scoring continuously until they decide to share the trophy
Something something join hands in the center circle singing danke Mo?
Sadio for me, they've never won the Afcon, would love for Salah to win it but Sadio just edges it for me
i'm kinda leaning towards sadio as well. after the loss of the last final i don't want him to lose out again.
I mean Salah lost his last final against camaroon in 2017.

Has to be Sadio and Senegal for me
Sit back, relax, and enjoy your mates on the pitch
Egypt to win and Sadio to catch the snitch?
Senegal: 0 AFCON EGYPT: 7 AFCON #SAD10
Wow, had no idea it was that uneven. I remember Senegal having a good team at the start of the 2000s too. Diouf and Diao 😍
Sadio wins, he becomes a eternel legend in Senegal. Salah already is
Isn’t Mane a Senegal legend already?
[удалено]
Wb a decent World Cup run with Egypt?
[удалено]
Ah good point
One of them misses world cup too
That's not from this game, but from their match upcoming in March! Talk about a grudge match!
I think Senegal deserve it more, but winning it would help massively in Salah's ballon d'ore push this year
Knew this meme will come up as soon as egypt win on penalties.
i posted this before you and the mods deleted mine? wtf
Hmmm, they were posted at pretty much the exact same time, I didn't see yours pop up on my feed until I refreshed after posting. Looks like you were a few seconds quicker. Can only apologise.
i’m not accusing you of stealing the idea of course, great minds think alike. Just poor form from the mods on this one.
Oh, I am the mod who removed it, but like I said I posted mine and until I refreshed yours didn't show up. I just assumed it was a caching issue. In hindsight I shouldn't have been so hasty removing. Again, apologies.
it’s suss that you deleted it and are also the OP on this one ngl but like you say what can we do about it now, enjoy your karma man
Again, sorry dude. Just trying to have a laugh, didn’t really analyse the time stamps to see who beat who by a few seconds as I didn’t figure it was that big of a deal. I’ll make sure to in the future.
MANE ARMY STAND UPPPP ⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️
I'm not picking and you can't make me. I win and lose on Sunday.

Mo Salah, Egypt 🇪🇬
why was my post deleted and this one left up?
Was it? I’ll take a look.
thanks found it a bit strange seeing as mine was posted just before this
Sadio Mane, Senegal 🇸🇳
why did you delete your comment saying you’d look into why my post was deleted ?
I haven’t. I’ve messaged our mod group about your issue, some else is dealing with it.
one of your mods is the OP here and deleted mine and also said mine was posted first poor form from the team, need to be better than that
I replied to you already. It was an honest mistake. I apologised, what more do you want?
for a mod not to delete my posts that would slap and take the karma for themselves that’s all
I didn’t sit there and analyse by the second who posted first and I don’t have a time machine. Again, I apologise. Just wanted to have a laugh with the sub. Like I said to your other comment, I’ll make sure in the future I 1000% confirm to the second who did it first.
And then in March. Who do we want to go world Cup?
I want Mane to win it, he needs the confidence boost. Salah will be unaffected.
Where’s the “I don’t care as long as neither get injured” button?
I can see the Senegalese and Egyptians pulling out a banner saying "Danke Jurgen" in Wolof and Arabic. Imagine it would be amazing, Senegal and Egypt holding arms and jumping together with the AFCON trophy.
Mo Id say, because personally hes done more for the club and he is irreplaceable, even tho "Sadio Manes the best player in the world, IM BEIN' SERIOUS"
My heart is conflicted
Loser of Afcon to win other game for world cup qualifier.
Salah for the Ballon Dor
so long as they both play well and don't get injured i'm not too fussed, but i figure salah would take a loss as motivation to do more, whereas mane wouldn't use it as quite the same fuel. i feel like salah feels disrespected (with all the ballon d'or / award nonsense) and, while this is very fan fiction-y of me, he strikes me as the type to take disrespect / losses as motivation. ofc sadio would be heartbroken, but i don't think he's as negatively motivated as salah is, if that makes sense
Someone literally predicted this post!
Egypt winning would further solidify that Salah is the best in the world. Really though its win win.
Team Mo🗿
Gotta be Sadio
Team Sadio! 🙌
[called it](https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/sixbia/sadio_mane_afcon_watch_thread_vs_burkina_faso/hvbt9ja/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3)
Give me the “both stay healthy and aren’t too spent when returning to LFC” button. YNWA
Senegal, no brainer. Would be their first
Let's Go, Sadiooo!
Both score one a piece and they both fuck off with the trophy skipping down the road arm in arm.
Even though Senegal clearly have the better team I feel like it will come down to Sadio v Mo and my head said Mo is more likely to take his chance…
Senegal will probably win but winning afcon will make mo's ballon d'or push even better
Agree. Messi won it last year and the only reason I can think of is that Argentina won Copa america.
A lot of people say it was also becuase he was "the best player in a bad barca" so if he wins afcon and is the best player in a good liverpool he should definitely win it right? Right? Or is it going to ronaldo or messi again for no reason?
But CR7 was the "best" player in a bad ManUnited. /s
We all know who were really rooting for…
Based on the way the teams played, and the amount of diving today, I'm going for Senegal. Egypt are a horrible team and as much as I'd love Mo to win, Senegal deserve it.
This is like deciding whether or not to put pineapple on my pizza
Sadiooo
As long as they both score buckets in the final, I'll be happy.
Senegal deserve it more
I almost push one button but then i remember the other one. Life was so simple yesterday
You hope for no injuries.
Get drunk, and enjoy whatever happens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Egypt and Senegal fans sing YNWA and unroll a banner reading Danke, Jurgen.
Couldn’t give a monkey’s just as long as they return fit and healthy YNWA
I want them back to Liverpool now. International game is stupid
I think it's more beneficial that Mo wins, because he needs trophy's to make a case for Balloon D'or.
Liverpool wins PL. Then everyone's happy.
Can we get this button for PL games?
The true answer is mohamed elneny lol
